Fantastic experience: I love going to this gym. I completed the 30 minute express circuit with Jordan today. He was a great instructor that explained everything really well, tailored the exercises to my fitness level and kept me motivated. I cannot wait for my next class. I also really enjoy using the black card spa. More specifically I love the hydro massage.

Negative experience: Women’s diapers on floor for 2 nights straight. This gym is the worst. And machines are broken most of the time. Smith machines need lubrication and maintenance periodically, cables are worn. And I would like to take the chance to speak to all disrespectful people in the gym. If no respect showing to others. Negative experience: Why do they only show hot young people in the ad. This makes me as a 62 year old not want to go there as as it portrays a young environment
Negative experience: Assistant GM at Kingston, ON branch is a very rude individual. We had to cancel our membership because of the treatment we received by him.

Positive experience: Really uncomfortable atmosphere I have spoke to staff about it due to being a “non judgment zone” yet that’s all it seems to be there. No manager called me back after leaving my number either. Unfortunately already paid the annual fee so it’s loose that or continue to be uncomfortable. Weird guys staring and following machine to machine, I’m a bigger girl and the girls that go barely covered up have made it so I longer feel good wearing shorts in the gym. I am really uncomfortable with the looks and constant starring. Guys walking up while doing my sets and just putting their stuff on machines saying “I got this, you done yet” Working out is supposed to make you feel good not damage your confidence more. Just annoying to deal with. Other than that it’s clean and for the most part the staff are welcoming.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, beginner friendly too… The personal trainer, i have yet to use him but i see him walking around and I’ll ask him to watch me do my set and critique me.. great guy I had an issue with my referral however the assistant manager helped me out and made it right… great staff… I don’t know what all these reviews are talking about saying the staff are rude; I’ve only had good experiences with them and they’re all super nice.

Negative experience: Nice gym, but very rude staff. The front desk guy named John was giving me attitude and being very rude yesterday while he was putting the lat pulldown bar away, which I left on the machine after working out. He also used some coarse language while putting the lat bar way, which I'm not gonna mention here exactly for now.

Positive experience: Great Staff!! Missing some critical weight-lifting equipment. Showers have mold in the corners, and shower bars are rusting. Never enough hot water. And it has become hectic over the last two months, getting harder and harder to use their limited equipment even at 5 am. There is way too much cardio equipment and not enough weights or machines. If the staff and people weren't as great as they are, it would be fewer stars.

Negative experience: Tina at the front desk is horrible with customer service. Genuinely no one told me about the amount of extra monthly fees that were charged along with the membership. As a student I got charged $120 in one month which is ridiculous. No help from Tina either.

Negative experience: Me and my girlfriend go to PF she has a black card, I used to go with her. Yesterday she was sick, I went with her pf black card. After scanning the card and walking in lady called me back, I told her that I used come as a guest everyday(even though she knows it). The lady in the front desk was not in a good mood while talking and made others in the gym notice about this, which made me embarrassed myself. I know it is my mistake that i carried my girlfriend’s pf card, but this is not how to treat their regulars and was not professional at all. It is not the first time, you can do survey with the people who comes at night, most them will have a complaint towards the lady in the front desk. We are canceling our pf black card today and will never step into that gym again.

Negative experience: Had an older lady near the end of COVID target me for no reason at all, until the point I just left the gym at that day because I didn’t want to deal with the harassment (My mask was covering my mouth but not my nose, was trying to get air and she watched me the entire workout and everytime I tried to get air she would come over and tell me that’s unacceptable. Meanwhile others were working out without a mask. To this day I don’t know what her issue with me was.) More recently the gym has become insanely packed, only time you can really go to get a good workout it 1-3 in the afternoon on a weekday, or the middle of the night. Takes them ages to fix equipment, air conditioning, even paper towel dispensers. With a lot of newer people who don’t seem to understand gym etiquette of having basic hygiene, as well as being overcrowded, it’s to the point you can’t breathe in air without gagging. Would not recommend this gym to anyone. Switched to goodlife, will go to any other gym in Kingston before this one.

Positive experience: Nice building with lots of equipment. The only thing I had against is the two large fans in the ceiling that keep redirecting cold air toward the gym goers and it causes discomfort for the sweating working out people.

Negative experience: Planet Fitness memberships are a trap for those of us without transportation. They have no problem signing people up as members online, with no signature, but to cancel it must be by certified mail or in person. Interesting

Negative experience: Planet Fitness Kingston- We experienced poor customer service, the staff member didn’t communicate well in the first place with explaining rules and was rude later. He threatened us that he will terminate our membership for no solid reason. The staff should know how to treat customers. The staff member could’ve talked politely instead he acted as he is the owner. Its not the only gym left in the city if we have to go through such treatment just because they aren’t aware of their own gym rules.

Fantastic experience: I love this place. Everytime we walk in there are big smiles from staff welcoming us back. Everyone is so cheerful and supportive especially on those days where you feel 'less than enthusiastic ' about getting fit. One trainer in particular, Jordan will make sure to toss you a smile and word of encouragement whenever he's on site followed up with a fist bump. He is what struggling clients need to keep going. Great establishment. Very clean. All machines and equipment in gym area in working order and sanitized.

Negative experience: Be aware they will take their money from any account you give them: Though it clearly states online when you sign up that only a debit account will be charged the monthly fee, today I received an overdraft on my credit card which I had to use to sign up because you refuse to cancel my membership online or over the phone. This is a beyond predatory system that should not be legal. Ridiculous that you're still getting away with this and others are signing up for this cash grab. Not enough gyms, not enough machines, but let me get my 30$ per month whether you can use it or not

Negative experience: Gym itself is fine. But the staff, specially there is one lady who is super racist. Wouldn't let my guest use the hydro even when it was completely free. Other male staff were always friendly but some of the female staff are just too racist. That lady staff needs some training about how to handle customer!

Positive experience: It's pretty good, lots of machines to use. Locker rooms are fairly tight and there is only one water station (unless I've something). Overall not bad and I'll definitely continue using it.
Fantastic experience: The staff is friendly and the place is spacious, so there is no inconvenience in using exercise equipment. The size of the music is appropriate, so it doesn't bother me when I listen to other music with earphones. It's nice to keep it clean. And the price of this facility... It's so good.

Fantastic experience: It's been almost a year since I moved back and I love the layout and space. From the first week I started going to the gym regularly Jessica specifically remembered me and made sure I felt welcome. The whole team is very personable especially the evening staff (since that's usually when I go in). Though it can be crowded so the app letting you check how crowded it is, is perfect. It's always fun to drag a friend in with me to workout at this gym using my black card membership. I've tried other gyms but I like the balance of cardio an weights this gym has and the relaxed atmosphere.

Positive experience: Gym environment was good but 70% of the gym was cardio and there’s no squat rack or free weights bench section. Price was good though, just don’t expect much in terms of free weights

Fantastic experience: I've been going here regularly for about three months. I focus on running, so can't speak for the weight machines - but my experience has been entirely positive. Good atmosphere in the gym. Decent equipment. Staff are friendly. Pretty good circulation of air (there's a couple of treadmills at the far end which are a struggle to run on - but you have to be unlucky to get stuck on one of those, as you have another 20 or so to choose from). For less than 20 bucks, a basic monthly membership is well worth the price.

Negative experience: I have been going to this gym for a long time now, never had an issue. In the 30minute circuit room, staff had said to us they don’t care if we do reps, as long as if someone is doing the circuit, let them go first. Totally fine!! However, recently they have gotten super strict about that room being a circuit room, so now we can’t use those machines. I’d understand completely if ALL of those machines were elsewhere in the gym, however some of them aren’t. If you want us to stop going in there, then please double on those machines and put them somewhere else aswell. I can name at least 3 (leg, arm & an ab) machines that are only in that room specifically. Please fix this so all of your members are happy, not just some.

Negative experience: Lack of respect for others. I use the 30 minute workout room. Of the last 10 visits, only twice did the clients respect the rotation. The other times, people hog the machines and refuse to move. The staff are sympathetic but they do not monitor the room like they are supposed to. The signage also needs to be more visible and the wording more strict. I've walked out several times from frustration. Makes for a very stressful experience.

Fantastic experience: I've been a PF member for a lot of years. My own personal experience: -The staff has always been friendly and kind to me. - It is kept pretty clean and tidy. - Machines that need repair are quick to be fixed. Recently I've amped up my workouts by adding a weekly session on with the personal trainer, Jordan. He's very knowledgeable, patient, and great motivation. I've noticed a huge difference in myself because of him.

Fantastic experience: Pros: *Awesome people working there *Cancellation was straight forward and very easy. No hidden agendas like GoodLife. I had to cancel because of relocating. Cons: No upgrade or new equipment. However, compared to what you pay for, I think it’s a very good deal.

Fantastic experience: Not too busy when I go, friendly staff. I enjoy going there. Update a few years later. Pretty much the same, good place to get a quick workout, tan or massage in. I go during the evenings when it is cooler and quieter. No real complaints. It's a gym.

Negative experience: The only two options to cancel membership is in person or through the mail, what a joke. I asked them to cancel both my memberships mine and my wifes. A month later I get billed for 1 membership, It turns out they only cancelled mine and now because of covid I have been billed on and off for the last two years for a membership I never used. I tried calling to get things sorted out and they said I needed to come in to cancel. Worst customer service out of any gym out there.

Fantastic experience: First time in this gym, with COVID being an issue I found people respected your space,cleaned equipment off as required. One thing I did notice was the paper towel holders a few were empty so you had to walk farther away from your equipment to get some

Negative experience: I am fan of planet fitness Kingston even after a bad experience still I believe on planet fitness. Unprofessional staff Emily (not sure name but she calling herself supervisor/working around today 7:30 pm ) I recently moved from Manitoba and I show her my Manitoba vaccine card to enter gym but she was rude and stopping to enter . I explain her that’s Canadian vaccine card and it’s valid in whole Canada . Every province is different but this good enough to enter any province without problems .I understand her protocol concept but if you working as supervisor then you have to know knowledge of other province vaccine cards too . I tried to show her online vaccine card details but she was not agree on it . FinLly but I tried 1 hrs until mobile battery dies

As our clubs closed during the COVID-19 situation, we proactively froze all memberships so that our members would not be charged any fees, including Annual Fees, during the closure period. If you'd like to end billing on your membership for the time being, the best way is to cancel. We never want our cancellation procedures to cause any confusion. As outlined in your membership agreement, there are two ways to cancel: Visit your home club in person to sign a cancellation form, or send a signed letter to your home club requesting cancellation. Positive experience: Cheap workout place, but don't believe the no judgement posters. These people are highly judgemental especially if you're in decent shape. Most judgemental fitness place I've ever been to.

Negative experience: Today was my first day (Signed up yesterday). As I’m opening the door, staff member says they’re at capacity and must wait for someone to leave. Person leaves, I attempt to enter and scan in, same staff says not quite ready yet! I go back outside. Same staff comes out eventually and tries to cover the mixup with some half a** excuse. I finally enter. Not even 5 mins in, same staff member approached me and told me that the SCAM mask has to stay on while “resting” (Note: Not breathing as hard as when lifting, explain the logic there). I told her that I was simply doing like the others but you chose to beeline right to me and let the others off the hook. Later, same staff let’s me know AGAIN that I’m doing like the others but chooses to only warn me. Staff then tells me that if it happens one more time (3 strikes you’re out) I’ll be asked to leave What a joke this gym is. Their colours should be white, black and red and their staff should wear brown shirts. Good thing I haven’t cancelled my membership at Fit4Less. Looking back, booked sessions of 1h15 mins and closed at 6pm on weekends doesn’t look that bad. WOW

Negative experience: It’s unfortunate that this is the only cheep gym in Kingston. The employees are disgustingly rude, judgmental and there is one trainer who is overly friendly to the skinny women. It’s disgusting. The KIDS that work here are incompetent and unprofessional. As for the equipment, it’s the bare minimum you need to workout. A lot of cardio machines, little to no room for floor weights. This gym is so bad that I’d rather never workout again in my life than come here just for the soul factor of how, judgmental and rude the employees are.

Positive experience: I love the staff here they are always helpful. The fact there is unlimited tanning in itself is worth it. Right now only 1 of every 2 machines is available due to covid so try and come when it isnt prime hours as you may not get in or it may be very busy and you'd have to wait to use the machines you want anyway.

Negative experience: Went to sign up, as I'm hoping to get back to a 24-hour gym. Unfortunately it looks like they only accept bank/debit billing. I'm not able to expose myself to that kind of risk, especially after reading the recent reviews here. PF, if you'd like to do business with me (and doubtless many others in my position), I'm able to pay with cash or Mastercard. I also require a simple no hassle web cancellation option, or some kind of fixed non-renewing term (ie. 3 months, a year, etc). If you're able to offer this in the future, count me in! Cheers!

At PF, we prefer EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) due to its convenience and security. Positive experience: Kingstons location is to much on the masks. Especially when you have partial lung issues and pull down your mask before or after a work out. Don't know if they have a 5 second rule in place but a little far fetched to he honest. Worry about people cleaning the machines not there masks! I noticed maybe 4 out of 30 people clean there equipment and 2 were my buddy and myself. 5 second rule means allowable time to have mask on or off before and after work out. Be safe and clean equipment!

Negative experience: I called them to cancel my membership because i wasn’t using their facility on Feb 19 and the lady told me that she would put a request through and if there is an error they will contact me, I didn’t receive a call so I thought that the cancellation went through. On March 1st i was charged the annual renewal fee $44 when i called them again to inquire about the charges they told me that it was my job to call them again to confirm my cancellation and they couldn’t do anything about it and he told me that he can see that my account was accessed on Feb 19 but can’t see why. After this horrible customer service experience i’m never returning to this gym and i wish there was an option for ZERO stars.

Negative experience: At the beginning of 2020, we joined PF, and for 2 months everything was fine, we liked the facility. However, their customer services is horrible. With the pandemic starting, they charged us a day before the facilities closed. No refunds for that, and there was no one to be reached at the club by phone. And on the website, it says that all questions should be directed toward the local club; no support there. Then, when they reopened in July, I came in to cancel the membership, but was advised to freeze it (to see if things get better). The person at the registration told me that if I still want to cancel, to do that before December 17, which I did, calling prior to the date. Turns out, I will still be charged for another month because I did not do it far in advance (which was never mentioned), but according to the 2 people I spoke with (on the phone and in person) it is my problem because I should have checked the contract rather than going off of what the representative said in July. So now, I am charged twice (in March and in December) without ever using the facility since March. The management and customer service are not understanding at all, and are not willing to adapt and issue a refund. It's a total money grab with their membership, there is lack of communication, and reading through the previous reviews, I am not the only one who experienced this with this club. Very disappointing. I do not recommend this club to anyone unless you want a constant hassle with fees, etc.

Negative experience: My wife tried to cancel when the pandemic started and they charged us for another year and two months. We've been in contact with the manager about a refund and they have NOT contacted us back or gave our refund. Very very very poor customer service , that is money we can not afford right now and they do not even care enough to get back to us.
