Negative experience: Was trying to enjoy my workout today when I overheard a staff member (Duane) disrespect and speak very rudely to another paying customer. I was thinking of signing up with a personal trainer at LA but if this is how they speak to paying members, i will cancel my membership and go elsewhere. nobody deserves that kind of disrespect. the manager should be ashamed of this employee. taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Negative experience: Cancelling my membership. Ive been to many LA Fitness’ and have never been spoken to so rudely. This was done by the personal training director dwayne. If this is how he speaks to paying members I dont want to imagine how he speaks to staff and his clients

Negative experience: Pretty disappointing experience. I was promised one price, but Yatharth kept delaying my membership until the price went up way too high. Feels like they were just trying to pull a fast one. Terrible customer service.

Negative experience: I went to try out this gym for the first time, which says it should be free for your first time. They tried charging me 20$, I called him on that so he then told me that he will let me in for free if I give a 5 start review (before even seeing the facility). I then told him, it says online my first visit is free, so do I need to do it online for you to let me try the gym? And THEN he let me in. They are money hungry and disrespectful. Also the showers are like pressure washers.

Fantastic experience: Came into LA Fitness on a guest pass today, and was very impressed with the staff and service I received. The gym was extremely clean with plenty of weights and machines available. Jason helped show me the facility and all the option for classes, pool, and training.

Negative experience: The facilities are decent enough but whoever is in charge of running this place is amateur at best. They’ve started renting out the pool to a 3rd party swimming lessons school, which makes it hard to get a good swim in any more. Additionally, repairs seem to take forever, no matter how minor. This place could be good, but they need to start running it like a real business and put their members first!

Fantastic experience: Very good customer service!!! I spoke with Logan over the phone and he was very welcoming and patient. Jason was very helpful and thorough with explaining what the gym has to offer. I was well looked after and felt very welcome.

Negative experience: During my time, there was people who were on their phones and talking while sitting on equipment which made it hard for me just to do my workout. If they could enforce this a bit more, it would make it much easier for people to mind their own business and keep going for their workout. Overall not very pleasant experience but the staff seemed nice and the gym was clean.

Fantastic experience: Logan was amazing, he was willing to sit down and have a genuine conversation while also having effective customer service skills. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for friendly staff as well as a clean and well functioning gym.

Negative experience: Kind of grossed out….. Was there Saturday morning and saw shaving cream and a razor left behind in one of the shower stalls, just left there (Monday evening), and the same shaving cream and razor were still on the floor of the same shower stall…….

Fantastic experience: Shoutout to Logan for extending our free trial, it was a great experience from the staff there. The place is clean and was not crowded at all during our visits from anywhere between 11am to about 5pm. Spacious and included just about anything you would expect from a gym of this size. The dumbbell rack was always in order, which was a huge plus. The regular gym goers were friendly and courteous from my personal experience as well. Great place, I would definitely think about going here if I ever moved back to the area.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever. I have visited more than 20-30 gyms in ontario and I could easily say that this gym has the worst fitness manager. He looked like a steroid abbuser and showed all the rage to me. I was just filming in one corner of the gym, myself. All of a sudden, he came to me asked to take down my camera or he will kick me out of the gym. Such a racist! Never ever coming back to this gym.

Negative experience: Had 5 stars here! But after hearing the cancellation process, it sounded like a complete RIP OFF! The manager is only available 10-5 on weekday! (People work on weekdays!! Should have a parttime manager to cover weekends for immediate assistance or emergency!). Secondly, I stopped by there to cancel, the lady said the manager was not available so I have to come back on weekday. (They expect me to take a day off from work just to cancel a stupid membership! Ridiculous). Then I was given the option for email cancellation where manager can review, guess what, that process takes around 25 days and they charge you when your billing cycle is passed even if you are not using the gym! Completely ridiculous! Now she said to feeeze and have a charge less than the membership based charge! I should be able to cancel WHENEVER i want and they should have the support available! Regardless of manager not logged in or HIRE MORE PEOPLE to take care of clients! Swimming pool is closed most of the days and mostly booked for events! Trash! Dont waste your money here!

I was at ease and self-assured right away because to Logan's great support and knowledge. Because of LA Fitness' excellent facilities and customer service, I heartily recommend it.

Negative experience: Beware of the sales pitch I have been a member of La Fitness for almost 2 years now....l was just informed that my personal training has been canceled...l am still owed 10 sessions....l believe it was July l started....but then l broke my arm....but l was told to continue paying my fees...and things would be made up to me....l should have really put it on a freeze (but l was not informed of that)....this would have been much better for me as l would not have had to crunch it all in after canceling my 6 month contract. These sessions are not cheap ($90 for a half hour)...most places are 1 hour for that. I know Dwayne and l disagree with session owning but l find there keeping track is very poor....also l was told there would give me 4 sessions per month not 3....10 sessions adds up to $900. plus taxes....l am not willing to loss that kind of money... I have kept track of all my sessions in my training book. Please advise me what we can do

Negative experience: Staff are untrained, rude and offensive. Specially the short guy who is perhaps the GM. I stopped going after 3 rude incidents. Would advise to avoid this place because of the horrible staff. South end staff us much nicer.

Fantastic experience: New to this location, and have been to one of the other ones. The equipment is always clean and well maintained! Locker room supper clean and have plenty of space and showers are regularly cleaned. The front desk staff are very friendly and welcoming to new comers.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this gym for a few years now and I like the location and how clean it is. I would like to thank the front desk crew for doing a great job and a special thanks to Duane and Logan for the amazing job running this place. I highly recommend this location and if you are looking for a knowledgeable personal trainer then Duane is your guy.

Fantastic experience: I’m completely New to the gym and don’t know what I’m doing, but when signing up Duane Black the personal Trainer introduced himself and told me he’d be happy to show me everything on a variety of workouts to progress on my goals properly and my goodness he put me on a workout I hadn’t felt that good in a while! If you are looking for a personal trainer to help with your goals ask for Duane Black he’s the nicest staff to get you on a proper path to success! He’s a 10/10 on training!

Fantastic experience: Very clean, great location and Duane the personal training manger runs a very tight, clean club and is very professional and very knowledgable. The club is very clean and well run highly recommended.

Negative experience: Didn’t realize how much smaller this location was compared to the south end location until my first time there tonight. My guests and I went into the personal training room where there was only 1 person working out and another younger male who was doing some reading. Dwayne kicked us out immediately but holy did this guy make sure to talk to me like I was an idiot! I tried to ask him for clarification and tried to tell him I was not trying to argue. After grabbing our stuff I said “ok no problem” and he finished with saying “and make sure you tell them Dwayne said no!!” I’ve been training at the south end location for well over a year and that staff is fantastic. I have never once heard them belittle someone to ask them to free up space in any training areas. I felt absolutely unwelcome and frankly really embarrassed to be talked to like that. I won’t come back to the cundles location and honestly Dwayne probably would prefer that.

Fantastic experience: I’m a type of person who hates walking into a gym and being watched. But Duane made me feel comfortable by showing me what I’m doing wrong on a machine or whatever I need. And that is what a true rep or person part of the gym should be like! He cares and listens to what you need. Carol is my personal trainer and the first time I met her I explained that I need someone to push me. Well I definitely got what I asked for and I couldn’t be more happy with my results. Also she is very outgoing and bubbly very easy to talk to but gets the job done. She makes you want to come back everyday and enjoy your workout it’s not a chore. I highly recommend this gym. The staff are amazing.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym! My personal trainer, Carol is a true gem. She is great at keeping workouts dynamic and you can feel how much she truly cares about your health and fitness. Plus, you can’t help but feel more energized and motivated just being around her. Duane has been a real help as well, making sure everyone has what they need and that we always feel welcomed and part of the gym community.

Negative experience: Very disappointing and rude customer service. I went to cancel my membership and the manager said it already been done. I didn’t got any email and after a month I got the call to pay the monthly gym fee. I went to the gym and they made it looked like it was my fault. I was explaining the manager whole situation and he was just smiling like I am doing a fraud. I really felt like he was judging me from my race. He was like me an Asian guy but there is always a difference between good and bad thoughts.

Negative experience: The manager Logan of this gym on cundles rd does not fully go through the terms and agreements of LA fitness and was complaining about customers and going into detail about these situations. they have been intentionally not disclosing when payments will be processed, when the annual fee will be collected, that you need to cancel 10 days before a billing date or you still get charged, and the place is highly unsanitary never saw them wipe the equipment once. When I called to cancel my membership because of these issues. I was told I had to go into the gym because they could not confirm my identification, I arrived at the gym to cancel like they told me only for there to be no manager so I was told since I had already came into the gym that confirmed my identification and my membership would be canceled that morning and I would get a confirmation email. The next day I called because there was no email stating my membership had been cancelled yet and they went on to tell me that I needed to come in again to cancel my membership and that was a huge inconvenience only for them to trick me into being less than 10 days in advance to cancel the payment before they charged me. Negative experience: It is all about Duane Michael black, LA staff at this location One day Me and my friend went to this Gym and my friend was shirtless, one of the lady's staff informed us that we are not allowed to come in with shirtless, my friend went back to his car and put his t-shirt on, we went to the pool, no problem, after about 5 mins one of staff his name is Duane Michael black, came in the pool, said with very bad attitude, it's your 3rd time that you are coming in the gym with shirtless, so I won't let you in next time, which we don't really know who was that before, cause my friend was my guess and he never been in the gym without me and never been shirtless before, we were not aware of that rule also, and we accepted right away the warn from the staff for the first time, But Duane start yelling at us ( in the pool ) once we said you need to prove it as we did not came in shirtless 3 times, he said I'll cancel your membership now and you can not come back to the LA anymore, and he went away and start shaking his hand behind the pool's window meaning shut your mouth, Everybody saw him what he did and how his attitude was, There was a lady in the pool told us that this guy has a very bad treatment and attitude as one day he came into the lady's changing room and the ladies were top less, she warned him as you can not come in to the lady's change room without notice, he just replied her that I put the sign outside and he walked away, Imaging he came in and he put the sign at the entry, how would they know there put the sign outside even though ladies were inside, At the end, Duane Michael black is one the worst LA staff ever that I met, I've been using LA and goodlife for years and never seen such a thing as a staff member I guess I'll be canceling my membership as long as he works there, cause i dont want tonsee him everyday at the front , and do not recommend it for anyone if they want to go to this location and get the membership, please at least talk to Logan, he is the best I have witnesses, one of them is Logan and he came up to us and did the apology that we really appreciate him

Fantastic experience: Flawless and friendly introduction to the gym from Matt. Definitely worth every penny with the amount of amenities, cleanliness, and the pool is a big deal for me. Highly recommend LA!

Fantastic experience: This place is incredible. Massive with lots of equipment and even a pool and basketball court. Worth checking out if you’re on the fence. Also, Logan and the front desk were super kind and helpful.

Positive experience: Good basic gym. It's almost always clean when I go in the morning. Pool seems well kept but, I don't use it. My only issues are with there not being any good spots to deadlift and there only being one power rack/squat rack/leg press. However, it's usually not too long of a wait. Lots of cable machines and cardio equipment for those who are there for that. Staff and other members are always friendly.

Negative experience: So I walked in to cancel my membership today and they told me it can only be done Monday-Friday in person why can’t you do it on a Sunday? Makes no sense wasting my time and gas don’t recommend a lot cheaper n better gyms in Barrie

Negative experience: La Fitness has the worst customer service experience ever. I would never go there ever. The receptionists are so rude and act like they don’t want to be there. They got people activating your subscriptions over the phone but can jot cancel it and don’t tell you the T&Cs. They have multiple managers but only one lady manager Courteny can cancel your subscription and works weekdays 9-5 which seems bs and gives everyone a hard time. LA customer service took a couple of calls to give me refund for my subscription and made it seem like it was my fault that no one put any notes. Looks like I’ll be moving my business over to Fit4Less

Fantastic experience: Knowledgeable staff, clean facility, and great environment at Barrie Cundles location. Alissa M’s help at front desk makes the gym a great place to be. Also shout out to Logan’ Attwell for going above and beyond to support and provide assistance. A great gym.

Positive experience: Busy both in evenings and mornings . Don’t have hot / cold pools , or sauna. Showers only have hooks for towels and not shelf and only 1 universal gel for shower. No hair dryers. Gym section is fine.

Negative experience: Great variety of equipment but it looks like they haven’t cleaned in years… the machines are full of dust and dirt that looks like it’s been sitting there forever, and there’s dust and hair all over the floors in between the equipment… my allergies get terrible every time I’m here to train. Would highly recommend getting someone to deep clean the machines/floors. At first glance all looks good when you come in but it’s honestly kinda gross when you really pay attention.

Negative experience: Great selection of equipment and staff is always very nice and welcoming, no complains there at all. My only issue with it is the cleanliness. I see a lot of reviews saying how clean the gym is , but if you really pay attention it’s quite dirty. The dust/dirt is very noticeable on the floors , especially around the machines and free weight benches. It looks like those spots haven’t been cleaned in years. It truthfully looks like they only clean what you typically see at first glance ( I.e the front desk , the change rooms, the front seating area). I only leave this review becuaee I’m seeing a lot of people posting on how clean it is and I think it’s important they see the actual state of cleanliness of the gym. Having worked in different gyms for over 5 years now I understand the importance of keeping even the seemingly unnoticed places clean. A lot of people are allergic to dust. I hope this review is seen and that for the members sake it is cleaned up.
