Negative experience: I’m deeply disappointed with Planet Fitness’ decision to switch from Life Fitness equipment to Matrix. The new machines are a huge downgrade. Some of the best machines in the 30 minute strength circuit are now gone, which is incredibly frustrating. I even spoke to employees, and they confirmed the change and the removal of some great equipment. To make matters worse, the new machines are so uncomfortable to sit on that they’re almost unusable. This location no longer meets my expectations, and I won’t be returning anytime soon. It’s sad to see such a decline in quality from a gym I once enjoyed. Do better.
Positive experience: Honestly I was happy with this place, but now I'm not. When I first started out, they had the 30 Minute Circuit room, which was GREAT!! I had a great routine started, was going strong for 4 weeks, then they changed the equipment, the 30 minute Circuit is no longer there, the steppers are gone and now I have to figure out which machine are going to do my workout routine. I spent more time trying to figure out the new machines than doing my actually workout. Very disappointed and annoying.
Positive experience: The staff is great and the gym is usually clean although some users don't put their equipment back. The recent downgrade to matrix equipment from the previous life fitness tools is disappointing but in keeping with the adage that you get what you pay for. Thus the average rating.

Negative experience: I did not like the sneaky contract stuff they slip in there. They make it very difficult to cancel and will continue to charge you. Keep in mind its 10x harder to cancel than it is to sign up.

Positive experience: First time being here, a lot of members just standing around having conversations more than working out and tying up machines for other people. Then there are signs up around stating to have phone conversation in the lobby. But nice big locker room area, staff was nice at the time and gym was clean.

Negative experience: Great variety of machines and very clean. But not a single barbell or weight above 75 lbs is kind of ridiculous.
Negative experience: Gave the staff the same comment several times no action were taken People don't clean after them .... Place stinks, people sit on a machine for 10-15 minutes just talking others waiting .... Staff passing by people wearing jeans flip flops etc ... not a single word said. Not recommended.

Negative experience: Damon is one of the worst people I have ever encountered in my entire experience within a gym facility. Horrible manager he has accused my friends and I multiple times of things that don't exist and will not cancel my membership even though he told me I could call and cancel because I will be in Europe. Liar. He needs to be fired

Recently, I experienced discrimination and bullying, possibly due to my ethnicity, which goes against the gym's core value of being a judgment-free zone. Negative experience: I had canceled my membership and I got charged for it a month later, when I called, they mentioned I had owed them a payment since 2022, and while I had cancelled my membership, they told me the had clearly took off my bank information! 1. Not just that is a violation of my credit card! Having said they have taken it off and still getting charged, they dont know what they do. 2. I had frozen my account in the year 2022 for one month! They charged me for that, however, their management (including the manager) doesn’t seem to take any responsibility about their employees actions or behaviours. Utterly pathetic and disappointing.

Positive experience: It does what it says, sure wish the stigma of "lunk" alarm wasn't a part of it, but I get that it's for insecure people. Sometime I just wanna growl and grit my teeth when im pushing my limits.
Positive experience: I had a good experience at this gym! It is fairly small and doesn't have much regarding free weights (no squat rack or BB bench press, although they do have quite a few smith machines and benches) but, they have enough for a good workout. peak hours are quite busy as expected but it's pretty quiet in the mornings and around noon. I found the staff respectful and helpful. More equipment could have been useful, but for the price it was a very positive experience.

Negative experience: Unfortunately a friend of mine who came as a guest with me. Had his wallet stolen from the locker. And sad part crew member told us that even they can’t look this situation up through CCTV. Plain “sorry guys” and our devastated leaving from the gym.

Positive experience: Gavin & Jean are a great asset to this gym. It was really busy at the front desk. I am retired I told him I am in hurry. Someone else was using the iPad. I had to leave as I was expecting company for dinner. But, Gavin.was great and told me I could apply online. I'm 74 and like to keep in shape. I will sign up on line. I just wanted you to know Gavin was a amazing customer rep for Planet Fitness. I wanted him to get recognized for this. Thanks Gavin for your time today and making me feel welcome. Now that I'm at the gym every day Jean is always here to help with questions on the equipment I haven't yet used. I find some the younger people need to be courteous and countable. If you use the equipment WIPE it off when your done. It's only fair to the nest person using it. Ad they say -get with the program ok. I've met a lot of really nice people here. Courteous friendly and as thr gym says no attitude!

Negative experience: Been a member for nearly “ 3 years” roughly now , I forgot to carry my water bottle..went up to the counter to buy a packaged bottle of water , was told “Tap” with mobile wallet is not acceptable, was told I need to pay with my debit card . I do not prefer to workout with my wallet in my pants and secondly this planet fitness specifically has a lot of “THEFT” incidents , as well as the club does not take ownership in such situations so I do not carry my wallet to the gym . Requested to pay the next day as it was approximately just a “ $1 “ with my black card discount! , basically was denied sale and had to workout without a bottle of water.

Negative experience: 1st day, my backpack and sweater got stolen from the locker. I was informed that I should be bringing my own lock, but forgot to bring one. The chance of it stolen stuff is happening could be pretty high. Probably a daily basis. Staff knows about it but i think the management could do better.

Positive experience: Good spot friendly staff but lack of relavent machines they have like 100 treadmills and one peck I constantly have to extend my workout cause I have to wait for it to be open to use and they put the lights directly above the incline benches so if ur doing skull crushers ur just facing bright light the whole time

Fantastic experience: I actually switched from the healthplex in Chatham to planet fitness My time for hitting tennis balls in the gymnasium was cut off and time for playing Pop tennis was cut drastically so the only thing I was able to due was work out and even that got to be a head ache too many people constantly on thier iPhones and wasting time taking too much time per each machine plus the hours of operation at the healthplex especially on weekends I decided I had enough so I decided to go back to planet fitness...more machines they are open 24/7 do I might even go before work instead of after plus planet fitness offered massage beds and chairs and it only costs me $2.25 more a month

Positive experience: This location tends to be very busy. You'll have to be strategic and plan your session ahead of time for the majority of your workouts because of this problem. Location is clean, staff are very friendly and some go above and beyond for you.

Positive experience: This location offers a fair variety of machines and equipment for the cheap monthly price you’ll pay for. It has everything you need for a basic workout. It’s always clean and the staff are always friendly. It’s a large open space with 5 sections. The washrooms are spacious and clean as well as the showers. With the students back in the city, you’ll want to find a quiet and less busy time to avoid waiting for machines.

Negative experience: Horrible fitness center ever I come across. 4 time deducted money from my account in less than 2 months. Rude people working in this facility. Treat customer very badly, no respect, not politeness. I have used less than 1 week and deducted annual fee which was not mentioned during sign up. I Don't recommend to my friends & family in this poorly managed facility and get nothing worth it with the amount we spent. Very bitter experience with PF.

Fantastic experience: For a discount gym very impressed. Been to Good Life (expensive) and Fit 4 Less. Both full of meat heads too (I’m an average Joe). Very impressed that you can book sessions with a trainer for free (Good Life charges hundreds a month). Clean and newer equipment. I see comments that you have to wait for some machines. The gym is $15/month get over it.

Positive experience: Machines are not as new as other communities here in Ontario. Men's locker room has a funky smell. Staff are friendly though.

Positive experience: Fairly clean. Staff seem nice. One thing I really dislike about coming here are the amount of people who have zero gym etiquette....taking a very long time on weight benches/cheat press (like 20/30 minutes), playing on their phones....and guys slamming and dropping weights.

Negative experience: A person or persons at your gym is using other peoples bank info to pay for their memberships. I don't even live in London...I live 6hrs away. You should look into that

Negative experience: Hands down the worst gym ever, I’m not sure if they have improved recently but from when I use to be a member the smell in this gym was enough to be considered chemical warfare. Not to mention way to over packed and lack of serious body building machines. Fit 4 less is the same price and you get much better quality even during the busy times. This gym needs to enforce a clean environment or it’ll be done in no time.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Gym. The staff are very friendly and the gym is very clean. I go early in the mornings when it isn't busy and it's a great environment to work out in. Kudos to Jessica and Michael, they are terrific staff members. Jessica is very nice and greets me when I walk in. They both really work hard cleaning and looking after the gym. I find there is an excellent variety of equipment to work out on. The only thing I would recommend is a dedicated calf raise machine. Planet fitness have pretty much nailed it on providing every other piece of equipment to work out your entire body. There are multiples of some equipment if one is being used... I would definitely recommend you. Keep up the excellent work!!! A+++

Positive experience: It’s a good place when it’s not jammed. Unfortunately many people use the machines on the 30min workout zone to do reps and refuse to move when you’re actually doing the circuit. I’ve seen staff monitoring sometimes but as soon as they leave it happens again.

Fantastic experience: I was visiting London to see my aunt and I'm a planet fitness member so I visited here a few weeks ago. I don't have the global membership but when I mentioned to the manager I was only in town for two days he was very kind and still allowed me to come as a guest for free. I was very happy with his kindness. Overall the gym is very well kept, spacious, and has all the machines you would need. Highly recommend this location!

Positive experience: Nice and clean, big planet fitness. Didn’t truly realize how nice of a planet fitness it was until visit another one in the US. Doesn’t have absolutely everything (synergy 360 and other stretching warm up equipment) you can get at an even bigger PF but has most of it.

Positive experience: The gym is pretty small. The bench/squat rack area is always full, but I think the gym is not that bad. My suggestion is that they should put more mirrors so we can check ourselves when working out and they should also add a dip station pull up bar.

Fantastic experience: Good clean hygiene, machines works well. They have quite a few of machines to workout on. And on their app we can view how busy the gym is so we can plan to go accordingly. Their app has workouts videos.

Negative experience: Few days before I really had a bad experience with planet fitness gym. I used to kept my personal belongings in the locker after my workout I found that my locker was opened and things were stolen. I reported to the staff immediately, they asked me to file a police case and give a written complaint to the staff. I did both and still now I have no updates about that till today and I lost my wallet, Costly winter jacket and a Jeans. I was told that before me, few other people had our same experience and still similar thefts are happening but then they had done nothing to prevent this, at least they can alert their members that their is a high chance of theft and to keep their belongings safe.This is not a safe and reliable place , if you are placed to join here get ready lose your stuffs and experience some bad customer service. Therefore I cancelled my membership with planet fitness today.

Negative experience: This gym smells so nasty like all you can smell is sweat as soon as you walk in and the air is heavy. I normally come during the least busy times but still end up having to wait to use machines as it is very busy here. They should work on making more space to hold the amount of people coming. Other than that there is a good variety of machines.

Negative experience: Not a serious gym for people actually looking to build muscle or do hard/heavy workouts. No power racks, no deadlifts, no hack squat machine. When questioned about this, one manager straight up told me he has a membership at a competing gym to do strength-building exercises.

Positive experience: Good Gym, lots of machines and equipments for the fitness. Massage Chair is the one I like most. Trainers are knowledgeable. Evening are bit busy than other time. Good location and lots of parking available. Memberships prices are almost same as others. Attractive part is no commitment.

Positive experience: Has lots of amenities for an okay price, definitely better than other gyms. Guest passes on a black card should be able to use all amenities as well but hey

Negative experience: They like to play on the "judgement free zone," to make them appear inclusive. But they don't include people in a family situation. My husband and I have a very young child at home, but we both want to go to the gym to keep healthy, so we got the black card to sort of cover both of us. But, because of our situation we have to go at separate times. Which doesn't follow their policies. Instead of including unique (not that unique, because most people have to have someone home to watch their kids) situations like ours, they chose to tell us to buy separate memberships, with the narrative that "it's only $4 extra a month." That's not including the extra annual fee on a separate account. And as of lately, $4 can't even buy you a head of lettuce... It took a quick Google search to find that their competition factors in people in my situation. So we canceled and took our buisness elsewhere happily. On top of this discrepancy, they caused me major anxiety and discouragement. It already takes a lot for people to even feel comfortable to go to the gym. To be be pressured into leaving and spending more money in hard times, that's treading thin ice...

Negative experience: This was the WORST Gym that I have been without question. The machines are old, damaged and not clean, the general smell of the room is so disgusting. Somebody broke the lock of my locker and stole personal ítems and drop the rest of my stuff through the lockeroom. The staff was not trainned to help in these situations it was so frustrating.
Fantastic experience: Staff are super friendly and tenacious about cleaning which leaves the facilities perpetually spotless. Planet fitness franchises can be hit or miss sometimes but here at oxford and highbury I have never heard the lunk alarm go off which is a good indicator that the environment is open and respectful to all. In contrast to other local affordable gyms PF is never too busy for comfort even at peak hours. No complaints at all, stellar place to work out!
Negative experience: @PlanetFitnessCA It's sad for me to write this review and I am taking my time to write this post. I'm from London, ON. This review is for the branch at Oxford Street East. Almost a year ago I had to freeze my account as I lost my job and had financial issues. I was told that I wouldn't be having any recurring fees so I decided to freeze my account instead of cancelling it as I wanted to avoid going through the process of making a new account. I called in today when I noticed the annual fees has been deducted from my account. They apologized for their miscommunication and they couldn't do anything about it. Apparently, I was sent an email when I froze my account and I was never been notified about it on the day I was freezing my account. And the manager that I spoke with today mentioned that it is not our responsibility to let you know to check your email. Do you call that ideal customer service? 44$ is a lot of money for a person going through financial difficulties and the management had shown no mercy to it. How can I be responsible for the miscommunication from the management? I would have cancelled my account on the day I froze my account. This is not fair when I did not use the facility for almost a year. I will be bringing this up on other social media platforms as I am held responsible for payment due to management's lack of clarity and miscommunication.
Fantastic experience: I am a new member of this Gym and enjoying the workout so far, I used to be in the best and very expensive gym in the area but was so impressed with the cleanliness how organized the place was, until recently, the smell in the men's washroom ruined everything, this is not the management's fault but I guess they need to improve the exhaust vents in the washroom so that other customers like me won’t suffer a horrible discomfort because of other people’s stinky feet. Nothing the management can do with these stinky feet, but I guess this problem needs addressing and attention.. Other than that.. I have no complaints at all! Love going to this gym!
Fantastic experience: I am several months into training and have to say my experience has been truly awesome. In Toronto the past March break: Right from the first time, I was greeted by management, Amanda and Omari, and their super friendly staff. First they took the time to show me around, and secondly in touching base with my trainer Kitisu at the London Oxbury club, trainer Tejas at the Gerrard location was able to continue my training. The trainers at these clubs certainly know how to correct and encourage for the extra push. Just a side mention, the aqua chair number 2, as advised by Louis, was the best massage to date. The half hour makes all the difference. Wish my club in London had the ability to set a longer time!
Negative experience: It feels extremely sad to write this review, I was a black card member and I take my wife along with me everyday for the workout. I just walked out of the gym with cancelling my membership as the lady at the front desk was so arrogant and rude and didn’t showed any customer service to me and my wife. I requested coins for the massage chair and informed her that I don’t want to use it as I don’t take massages so I told her my wife will use the massage chair on behalf of me, she told me that only membership holder can use the massage chairs and other amenities, I said I understand but I informed her that I don’t take massages so can my wife use it, she is like no she can’t as per the agreement. I agreed that yes as per my agreement my wife can’t but what is the issue if I’m not using it and my wife uses it just for one day, she didn’t even offered or said that it’s ok for just one day so we were really upset and decided to cancel the membership and she wasn’t even sorry for that behavior. At least show some good customer service for the people who is requesting. I want to speak to a manger or the owner not to complain but just to ask what’s wrong just for one day if I’m not using my benefits why can’t I let my wife use it? Your employee just let me walk out without hesitation and cancelled my membership

Negative experience: I am not the one to leave reviews, however, the night shift desk attendant by the name of Jessica need more training on how to listen to customers concerns in order to offer them better services. Instead of listening to the issue being raised by the customer, the first thing she did was stereotypically jumping on conclusions. being extra dramatic, rude,condescending,disrespectful is just unnecessary. You guys have promotions going on, maybe even discounts in place, and so on... listen to the customer and see if they can benefit from these offers based on their situations. If, it's beyond your ability, just respectfully and calmly tell them " you would be happy to help them. But you can't, however, you will inform your manager about the issue and how best to further assist them.". Simply that. It doesn't cost a million dollar being nice to people. And, most especially in customer care services, your attitude represents your company's vision amd values.

Negative experience: It's cheap but if you can afford elsewhere, go. For a judgement free gym, don't grunt to loud on power lifts, don't have a big water bottle, a certain shirt, they have a list, you'll get the boot. So, there is judgement, PF style. Even a Lunk alarm for good old public shaming. They do clean but the complete lack of any hygiene requirements or standards usually renders many areas of the gym unusable, machines covered in stench, hair and skin flakes, grease... Even the music is bad, but there's reason, I'll explain, if your music is lame and you enact rules limiting noise / grunting / essentially real effort, then you create a system where people pay for the gym never to achieve their desired goals because all real motivators have been removed and they stay as repeat clients, example, there's still signs up in PF advertising Tootsie Rolls... Beside the Stairmasters on the wall.
Positive experience: They have fair number of equipment, but not enough for big number of the participants all the time, moreover some are out of order for long periods of time. The Gym fees are affordable, the staff are so friendly. But the owners should spend more.

Negative experience: I have been a member since 2021 and had good experiences with those at the front desk. But two days ago I had the worse customer service from one guy at the front desk. He was so condescending and so disrespectful, I ended up cancelling my membership and would not be returning to that gym. Sadly whoever he was working with came by and wouldn’t even allow me to explain what happened instantly concluded I was angry, instead of enquiring with me what happened, I was so shocked by this, and this was a very disappointing experience for me. I couldn’t even complete my workout section, had to leave. Terrible. This is a place I workout for peace and a form of therapy for me and that treatment was so disappointing.

Negative experience: How do I cancel my membership? I haven't been able to use my membership as I don't live in london amd my job takes me in the opposite direction. Fees have gone from 20.00 a month to 44.00

Negative experience: Save your money. Worst customer service and gym in London Ontario. Unsanitary, poor equipment. Also wanted to note recently that they allow MEN to use and change in the women's washroom. Their weak policy allows it.

Negative experience: Sick of everyone starring at me at this gym. Supposed to be the judgement free zone… more like the judgment zone to me. Horrible public hygiene in this gym as well. Not very sanitary to smell someone 5 machines down.

Positive experience: Affordable, clean, and helpful staff. My one complaint is staff don't seem to pay attention/ reinforce the no talking on your phone rule though there are signs everywhere people still do it which can be annoying and ruin your focus.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service here from some staff. I've been going here for 2 years now and I've never had so many issues speaking with staff before. The showers are still broken, the hot water doesn't work, the water pressure shuts off any time someone uses the sinks or toilets so your water cuts off on you mid-shower, the one stall has a shower head that isn't even attached to the wall so it falls off immediately when you go to use it..I'm thinking about switching gyms to fit4less now.

Fantastic experience: Neat, well equipped and safety measures against COVID-19 are in place. The staff are also friendly and helpful in securing any lost item found in the gym.
Negative experience: Just canceled my membership with these guys. My membership was put on hold due to covid and was told I will not be charged till I get back to the gym again. Yesterday I seen the money go out from my account even though I did not join yet. I called in for a refund and was told I will not get a refund but they will give a free one month trail . Totally unacceptable these guys charge you and don't give your money back. Had to cancel my membership today and never more returning . Also gonna have my friends pull out from the gym as well
