Fantastic experience: I’ve been attending this gym for about a year now and I dont have any complaints. The staff are friendly and always say hello and greet me appropriately when I enter and say goodbye when I’m leaving. Their communication is clear and they ensure their members are aware of any pertinent information. For example, whenever their hours change (usually holiday hours) they ensure posters are placed on the door upon entry. Staff are also able to reaffirm the information communicated on the door given they are up to date with communication. With respects to any incidents, I personally had one encounter with a staff member and was comfortable enough to inform management immediately. As I frequent the gym 4-5x a week, the next day, management followed up with me and shared he spoke with said staff member approriately. Said staff member was extremely apologetic because she was appropriately managed by staff. That to me told me everything I needed to know about the staff and environment at this gym. Management ensures their staff are treated with dignity and respect. The new equipment is working well and the new logistics of the gym work well with the space. I WOULD recommend this gym to anyone in the area. It’s also amazing that their are so many young black who are employed and performing WELL and POSITIVE in their roles ☺️
Fantastic experience: As a long time member who has been with Planet Fitness Malvern, these last few reviews are far from the truth. I witnessed what this fellow member and her family members are talking about. I heard her say she was going to write a review so I was curious to see if she would actually do one. I normally don’t write reviews myself but after seeing these I could not sit by and watch. It is disgusting and sad that they would try and bring race into this as nothing about her race was mentioned. I signed in, at the front, as the Manager was dealing with this member who seemingly struggles to understand the importance of knowing what they are signing. As I worked out near by I saw Saima, the women who left those surveys, verbally attack the staff members. She refused to listen and caused a scene. I have participated in some classes that she has been apart of which is how I recognized Saima. The way it looked by her trying to claim some for a racism it seems as if she tried to do what so many none black people do to black people. It’s disappointing and disgusting. I have seen the club change in such a positive way since this new management and team members. IGNORE THE LIES THESE PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SPREAD.
Negative experience: Fraud. They don't document anything that's said between the customer and staff. When you come back, they bluntly deny everything. They cover each of their staff's back and put the blame on customers. Very disappointed. Never going back again.
Negative experience: Money making place, they rip you off. Customer service is a disaster. They need to recruit new well mannered staff. Manager Ryan needs to be kicked out right away. Glad I quit this place couple of days ago and I found a way better gym.
Negative experience: They have charged me wrongfully, I was told to meet the manager at certain time, but then I was told he left early. Called many times, but they seem to make excuses every time, very unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: My son had joined this location in Malvern last year but, wasn’t able to continue due to his important school year and academic commitments besides he’s taken gym at school so we had to cancel the membership for the time being. To our delight the process was a breeze. No unnecessary hard time, no drama, it went all good due to which now my daughter is considering to switch from one of the popular ones to Planet Fitness. It’s a clean and comfortable place for work out and staff is friendly too with well maintained facilities and equipment. Worth a try!

Fantastic experience: Large and spacious gym. Not suggested after 6pm as it'll be cramped. Literally cramped. Eventhough you see crowd meter and plan accordingly, by the time you reach and start gymming, the place will be packed.

Negative experience: I hate this gym the machines are not good and then that tank top rule is just driving me crazy I biked 6 km to get there but then I got kicked out beca Of that tank top rule.Other people were also wearing it but they didn’t kicked them out the staff are not good.

Positive experience: Great place to work out for an affordable price. My friend brought me along ( seems members can bring a guest. I was surprised at the numerous machines available for all types of targeted exercises. There is staff on duty at all times. Rooms available for hydrotherapy. The environment is clean (I also saw the staff changing garbage while I was working out). I had a great workout
Negative experience: Left Canada and called the gym a few times to cancel my membership and they said I had to write a letter. Then they continued to charge me every month for the next 3 years. Phone call is not enough to cancel membership with this gym. Very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I've been a Planet Fitness member in Malvern Scarborough for quite some time. The environment is fantastic, and becoming a black card member is the way to go. Regardless of the obstacles at the gym, receptionist Mathew has always been nice and courteous. He always maintains a polite and respectful demeanor. Overall, a good gym.

Negative experience: I have been working out here from almost a year. This gym literally sucks. It’s too crowded most of the times and need to wait for long time to workout. There was receptionist Mathew and he is so jealous of people who have better physique. Yesterday when I kept the weight it was a little sound and he switched on the alarm which spoils the mindset to workout after that so many people made noise while dropping the weights and he was deaf all the time. The management has to take action on him or they will lose all their clients.
Negative experience: The worst experience ever ,it all started after I cancelled my membership in November 2023 , soon after I received a survey asking me why I left the gym ,I gave them a poor rating of one star , I received a call from the manager asking me the reason for the low rating ,I explained to him .He then sent me another survey,which I never completed. Fast forward to April ,2024 ,I'm going through my account and see three separate charges of $53 , I go the gym ,they ask me to call and speak with the manager Ryan ,which I do ,Ryan promises to call me back after speaking to head office, Ryan never calls back ,I call my bank and dispute the charges ,they offer me a refund . Fast forward to May 2024 ,the bank reverses the refund. So now I go back to the gym and they're saying I cancelled in March 2024.Thats some fraudulent sheet right there..I will attempt to have this resolved one last time or it will become a legal matter. So after writing this review, someone supposedly the owner reached out to me ,I sent her the receipts of the 3 fraudulent transactions done post account cancellation, she refunded one payment of $53.24 , reached out to her (Breanne) ,her words were " we're done here sir " sent her more proof,she then promised to refund me another $53.24 on Tuesday after Canada Day , it's now Wednesday 6pm , This gym now owes me $106.48 which they refuse, I think I've given them sufficient time to deal with this issue , times are hard , I don't have a $150 + to fraudulently hand over to a gym , I guess my threat of a civil lawsuit doesn't scare them into doing the right thing ...Let's see how long this last

Fantastic experience: The atmosphere is great, and being a black card member is the way to go. The Aqua Beds are amazing after a good workout, it just puts the icing on the cake lol. Nice and clean bathrooms also
Positive experience: This is my go to gym. You get what you get here. Work out equipment does its job for a gym and the price is excellent so no complaints from me on that part. My one complaint is they only have one chest fly machine, I've spoken up about this, but to no avail. Get another chest fly machine, please!! Also, if your a heavy lifter or bodybuilder, keep in mind they do not have squat racks or bench presses at any of their locations. They only have smith machines, but that is part of their gym culture.

Fantastic experience: Decent gym for the price. When I started about 2 years ago, the gym used to be fairly quiet (which was nice) but now a lot more people use the gym (with the price point, can't blame them). The staff are somewhat friendly, depending who is there. However there are several staff who never smile and say very little. They could definitely improve on this. The equipment in the gym are typically enough such that you don't have to wait too long to use. However I find that at times it takes very long to fix a broken piece of equipment...weeks at times. In overall, I would reccomend the place, especially due to the price point.

Negative experience: I joined this gym because I believed the reviews. I wish I never joined this gym.. had an incident whereas i was disrespected and faced many racist comments from that woman i was indulged in the fight with and this is not a no judgement place y’all.. i would make sure no one from my knows join this gym and this branch specifically… the herself chubby specs wearing receptionist is so bad and so rude… i was body shamed in front of hundred people.. yes i weigh 75kgs and I’m fat because i have thyroid.. i was very hurt.. but the reason i joined the gym was to lose my weight not to face body shaming

Negative experience: I am a planet fitness member for last 8 year at the same malvern Scarborough. I never had any incident but last Friday I had a bad incident and considering my membership changed to another fitness centre. A guy followed me and forced me sanitize an equipment. As I didn’t finish my work out and taking a break I ignored him as I didn’t like the way he talked to me and forced. He followed me in the gym so I decided to talk to the front desk ( Jamaican girl , no name tag found) and she really didn’t care about the whole incident and was very unprofessional. Simply she asked me was go and sanitize the equipment. I told her to talk to the guy who was following me and telling me to sanitize. She said she is alone at the desk and she can’t do anything about it. Then the guy came to the desk and shout at me and she didn’t even say a word to make him understand his behaviour was unacceptable to disturb another member of the gym. I totally understand that every equipment to be sanitized but the way the incident handled was unacceptable. More professionalism expected. Employees even don’t have a name badge to identify to address the issue. Customer service is zero stars !

Negative experience: This used to be my home gym. I got the pf black card and moved towards the GTA area. Eventually i got back to the classic membership I came back here to change my home club and out of 5 staff not even 1 of them could help change my home club? Apparently only a manager can do it but u can’t expect me to come at the managers convenient timing when I have work at that time and the fact this can’t be done online makes no sense in the world of technology the fact I have to come 2 hrs away just to change my home club is soo stupid. The lady working there was nice enough to leave a note on my file so I can use the planet fitness next to my house

Negative experience: The worst gym there is. Beware of the chains cancellation policy. You will need to go in person to cancel your membership. Which I did a year ago and was still being charged for their services. When I asked why am I still being charged, I apparently got to know they hadn’t really cancelled my membership and was asked to come in again to cancel the membership. I was out of the country and was paying for their membership after cancelling it. When I came back to the country, I had to go there again and get it cancelled and was told I will have to pay for 1 month because the billing cycle which hadn’t started but because its auto payment, I will still be charged and there will be no refund of any kind( the next billing cycle was not due for 3 more days). The worst gym there is and even worst franchise of planet fitness there is out there. PS- my membership still says Pending Cancel.

Positive experience: For the most part the staff our great. But today I wasn’t impressed. The roof had a leak right above the treadmills and I was walking at a fast pace and noticed a drop on my shoulder. I stopped my workout immediately and told a staff, he seemed more interested in talking to the girls at the counter then dealing with the leak. As I was leaveing the leak was still not attended to and the treadmill was still wet. Not safeq conditions. If someone where to not notice and start running they can fall and really hurt themselves.

Fantastic experience: I expect you to respect people's privacy. New shower curtains make it harder for people to shower. Because it's much shorter than it should be. Negative experience: The black female manager at this location is a jealous stalker. She’s always staring at me in the gym and give pretty girls a hard time because she’s insecure. Please fire her and hire someone who’s not a hater.
Positive experience: I would recommend anyone who lives in the Malvern area to come to this planet fitness. Julian was a great help today and he answered all my questions with ease and respect.

Negative experience: The negative reviews are correct. This place is a mess. Employees seem to be nice but are here for a paycheck. And they make it obvious. The owner clearly doesn't care as you'll see in many reviews the same repeated sentencing about how he would like to do better, he would like a 5 star facility and then refers customers to speak with management. Positive experience: This location has been great with cleanliness. Most staff are helpful and friendly. Does get a bit crowded around 4-7, and no squat racks or bench press (they have smith machines). Fraction of the price compared to other gyms in the area and allows me to bring a guest. Would give it a 5 if the cancellation process was easier (I moved and they need me to cancel in person or send a letter), and they had more smith machines (almost always occupied), squat racks or bench press instead of an excess of cardio equipment which is never fully occupied.

Fantastic experience: Clean facility, gets crowded during peak hours. Patrons are friendly, you'll be asked how many sets you have left on piece of equipment or if they could work in with you. Black card perks are nice, $1.50 Gatorade/Propel and massage chairs offer good value

Negative experience: My up-to-date black card membership allows me to bring a guest. However, despite complying with all regulations and having my membership information on record, a staff member insisted on email verification via my phone for my guest's entry. I brought my phone and asked for assistance multiple times, but the staff member refused further help, leading to both my senior guest and me leaving without access to the club. Despite ample evidence of my membership, including payment records, access to my financial information, and a photo, the staff's insistence on email verification resulted in a disappointing customer service experience. Negative experience: They intentionally make it very difficult to cancel your membership. You can only do it in person, or with a letter. I sent a letter, but they still did not cancel. They also never answer the phone. I've called many times to deal with this and the phone just rings. No voicemail.

Positive experience: The place is spacious and equipped with different tools, the black card room has an excellent massage beds and chairs, the locker room is so big with many lockers that you can use and there are a lot of washrooms and showers, I liked the cleanliness of the place but the thing I didn’t like about it is that they don’t have trainers

Negative experience: UPDATE: I went to this location today. No hellos no acknowledgment while I waited, just, “you can scan at that one.” I said, “I’m not here to scan, I’m here to cancel my membership.” I’ve gotten a few other memberships where the staff acknowledge members and the washroom facilities are clean. Going there moving forward. The bathrooms here are absolutely atrocious. Smell of urine and water everywhere. Toilet seats are falling apart misaligned. Staff can’t be bothered to say hello or goodbye. Compared to the other planet fitness locations I’ve been to this is by far the worst.

Fantastic experience: I was there for the first time last week and it really did feel like a pretty safe space. I'm clearly a newbie, but another gym goer was nice enough to teach me how to use some of the equipment. I'm surprised I was there for an hour and a half and actually had some fun. The location is really convenient for me too.

Positive experience: I've been an active gym member at this location for more than six months now. This place seems to have issues with their equipment maintenance team. Maybe they do not have any frequent inspections, every other day I can see equipment that is out of service and then needs to be fixed for more than one week. All front desk representatives are very good except 1-2 leadys, who never greet anyone with a smile. I feel she is paying my gym membership fees, but all the other representatives are really, really good; there is no issue. If they can work on equipment maintenance, I would give this place 5 stars, but I'm not sure if this review makes sense to them or not. Other gym fellows are good as well; there is no issue with security things.

Positive experience: I did not have a good experience at the gym today after doing my exercise i went to the front desk to use the exercise chair i was ask for identification i was never ask before and was told this should be done from the gym opened i just left the gym

Positive experience: It’s good place to work out but the barbell section is really low on weight. Only 60 LBS is their highest barbell which is funny .

Negative experience: The management is really poor. I have been a loyal customer for a long time and when i wanted to cancel my membership temporarily. They charged me for 1 whole month of service fee without even me utilizing the gym. Spoke to the manager Mike and he was not at all cooperative. The staff advised that the manager can waive the charges yet he decided i should pay for the whole month. Poor management and poor customer service and i am never going back to this location or planet fitness because of this unpleasant incident!

Positive experience: This was my first gym and I'm still frequenting it to this day (1 month in so far). Here is my review. TLDR: Non peak hours versus peak hours are as different as night and day. Gym culture is pretty good. Classes/trainers are impossible to find. I initially picked up to this gym as it was one of the closest locations (30 min walking distance), its cheapness (Fit4Less is only one cheaper), and its benefits (classes/personal trainers). Unfortunately, this gym only hits 2/3 of the aforementioned criteria. I have booked 3 fitness classes with this local planet fitness and all 3 of them were cancelled. In addition, most times the app does not show ANY classes whatsoever. I contacted customer service and they told me that they have no trainer at the moment. That's an absolute disappointment and it might be the reason why I choose another gym. Now to speak about the club in general. Planet fitness has done a great job with it's "judgement-free" culture. As a newcomer to the gym, I love it. In my visits, I have people who taught me how to use machines properly and gave me advice. During the non-peak hours, I received a pretty casual and expected gym experience. I was able to stretch with ample space, get my machines without any waiting, see a clean gym and locker room and overall have a good time. During the peak hours, the place can get messy and there's not much space to stretch. There's also waiting at machines. It's a pretty small gym with about 2 identical machines each (not including cardio machines). If you're someone who follows a workout routine, you'll have to budget some time either waiting or doing another exercise. As originally mentioned, I am still going to this gym. I go 3x a week while balancing full time school and a part time job. I do like the convenience; but, I am also willing to try other alternatives that actually offer classes and aren't busy in my desired times.

Negative experience: …because my goal to enroll and start gym was not achieved as I couldn’t sign up because I didn’t have my physical card. They couldn’t even offer me a free day trial so as my going not to be in vain…a friend told me they do but unfortunately the receptionist didn’t care.

Negative experience: I am currently 220lbs, I’m trying to loose weight and it’s really hard for me to keep up with weight loss without weight scale. Since there is no scale it’s not giving me motivation to workout. After i work out i see only my flesh and skin not my WEIGHT to keep it going. I hope you guys take some action.

We don't want our PF family to ever feel discouraged so we're keeping it in the closet for now. After all, your weight is affected by far more than just your fat or muscle!
Negative experience: I’m a member in this fitness club for past 4 years and I thank i must open about it now, in the entire gym there are only 5-6 yoga mates for more than 100 people. Now they even took out weight checking machines. It’s ridiculous tbh, we pay 25+tax for black card membership where there not even weighing machine. Most of the time wash room reeks and very unhygienic. Management must have look at these issues.
Thank you for your feedback. A scale can tell you one thing: how much you weigh. That’s it, and it’s not even a very accurate measure of that. Eat a salty meal and the scale goes up. Forget to hydrate and it goes down (temporarily). Plus, changing your muscle-to-fat ratio can sometimes make it seem like you’re gaining weight when you’re working out harder than ever! Bottom line, we support setting workout goals — not weight loss goals. Fantastic experience: Had a clerical issue which caused my acct to be in arrears . I just spoke with Omari and he handled everything in a snap of a finger. At times, we as customers get a lot of slack and pushback from companies when a situation arises that was not our fault to begin with. Positive experience: Clean and machines are usually available. Stuff is helpful. But you have to let the front desk to use spa which is inconvenient. There should be scan machines that people can use by themselves before entering the room. Also some machines need maintenance and the club needs better air conditioning.

Negative experience: It's the dirtiest gym. There are very few cleaning spray and paper stands. Most of the equipment is usually dirty and greasy. The changing room was filthy. Go to other planet fitness in Scarborough. It's much cleaner even though it's usually packed in the evenings

Negative experience: It's a pretty bad gym and lacking equipment for how many people go, but I never complained before as it's cheap. Now I'm complaining. I've been trying to cancel my membership for 2 months. After 2 months of calling and emailing, they have finally stated I must go in physically or send them a physical letter. I moved to another country, so I can't go in physically. Sending a physical letter is archaic at best, and difficult + expensive from another country. They are now ignoring emails. I'm going to go to the bank and have them cancel payments to these guys, as that will be easier than dealing with their 1800s style rules and unethical "let's fail to tell him how to cancel for 2 months so we can keep milking him for payments". This gym will steal your money and lie to you if you try to cancel, be warned.

Negative experience: I don’t even want to give this one star. My friends hard earned money got stolen from their gym. Even if the gym is not responsible… they didn’t even show him any sympathy or even tried to help him by checking all cameras. Rather their response was “its wierd coz it never happened “. Atleast they could show a little empathy and try to help the poor guy. They did not take any single action.

Negative experience: This is way effing crowded...This is a gym with zero gym etiquette. People just take over machines and cable rows..... You are waiting at machines lined up waiting for your turn to go..... Don't come here if you want to build muscle.....half the time is spent waiting. ... Forget doing a superset.....nothing is available.... even the bledddy dumb bells

Fantastic experience: I have been working out at this gym for just over a year now and can honestly say that it's a great gym. Friendly staff most of the staff really try to get to know the clients. A good majority of the time the gym is always clean and when there is something that needs to be cleaned or taken care of once it mentioned to the staff team they take care of it fairly quickly. For $15 a month you definitely cannot go wrong great gym.

Positive experience: Just signed up 3 weeks ago. Good gym, wish they had more squat rack machines and wish they had actually squat racks ( no machine). Also they need bench press racks, incline, decline etc. Other than its decent for quick workout, stay in shape, good health. Not for bodybuilding, etc.
