Negative experience: This place has infestation. There are bed bugs in this gym. If you leave anything on the floors or sides you’re taking bugs home.

Negative experience: this place is liminal hell. the change rooms are super unclean, have a disorienting smell, and are generally not great to shower/clean up in. the gym itself is fine, though the weights area is super full, even at odd hours. if there were any other gyms walking distance from me, i’d go there. if u have a nicer option, i’d recommend just dishing out the extra dollars for a pleasant gym experience.

Negative experience: I visited this gym and secured my belongings in a locker. After my workout, I found the locker door had been opened, and the lock was broken. I reported it to the staff, but they only took notes and didn’t take any further action. Even after checking the broken lock, they stated they couldn’t do anything. Be careful at this location.

Negative experience: At the gym right now while writing this and every time at this location it’s the same. So many guys just throwing down/crashing the weights right in front of the signs that say “do not drop the weights.” Everyone in the gym can hear this but no one ever does anything about it. Why even put up the signs in the first place.

Positive experience: The gym across from my work. I visit weekly and I'm generally very happy with it. It's an older building and RIOCAN needs to help out this place because it's showing its age. The staff do what they can. The Staff themselves. I've never had an issue with them. I see th ejanitorial staff regularly cleaning. Any questions I've had at the front desk have been helpful. The only gym locally to me that has kick-boxing bags [JOY OF JOYS!!!]. The Multipurpose room recently has had a ceiling water leak but they have been maing sure things are clean. It's a lot of work and money to get all that fixed, but they have been making sure folks are safe. Also there's been no mold smell in th earea, so somebody is doing it right. The clients? A mixed bag, and I largely don't think about them. People sound respectful. Some are catty. Some are entitled anuses but hey..that's life on Danforth. The only complaints I've heard have been from women in the women's part of the gym about male janitors doing their job cleaning in the women's section. Ideally, yes you want a female staff member to be cleaning, but often the case it's a male. The women need to chill out a bit. You have your own area. Quit whining. ONLY complaint I have that is critical has been the bike tie-up, being veyr run down [however this is an issue with RIOCAN, and not LA Fittness.]. It's a gym stuck in an old mall area. What it does it works decently. It lacks some ammenities but that's how it is.

Negative experience: Really disappointed at this experience, both as a business and the location. I went in on a sunday to sign up, first the payment was processed (which makes no sense) but it was explained that that was the system. Then the system crashed, a second try was made, again system crashed. While I was told the the payment will be returned automatically (it was by debit) and it will take 24 hrs. I asked for a receipt, they were not able to provide me that as the system crashed. As a company, I would think there should be a back up system for this, even a paper copy of the receipt. Also as a suggestion, maybe do all the paperwork first, then take the payment and provide receipt. I was also told, I will get a follow up email with an official receipt, the. next day at 9 am. Never did. Called the next day afternoon, call back was requested as no one was able to help. Waited another 2 hrs, no calls. When I finally spoke with someone, a manager, she tells me there is other things she has to do. A customer service number was provided, which of course no one is picking up and now I am told they will return the money 3-7 days. I used to go to this location many years ago, I never had bad experience. I guess not the same anymore.

Negative experience: The gym itself is good, with minor problems such as broken equipments that are taking a long time to get fixed, one shower that was consistently clogged for weeks, don't have enough yoga mats, etc. The manager at the gym is a penny pitcher against her customers. Will not refund a single penny even if the customer makes an accidental mistake or has a health situation that causes them to not be able to go to the gym, or any reasonable requests. Also doesn't take into considerations of senior citizens who do not have smart phones or aren't tech-savy to offer physical membership cards and forces you to use a smart phone.

Negative experience: This gym is an absolutely disgusting and dirty.At the first time I went inside to the gym and went to the counter.There was a rude girls and they all are laughing, chatting and didn't care how the gym is going on,how people are using,and also don't care about their equipments full of dust and hair.I asked the girl what's the perfect age for gym.And the girl covered her mouth with her hand and told me something by laughing at me.That girl was insulted me by cover her mouth with her hand.Those girls are very stupid and don't have manners.Then i left the gym.One of the disgusting and dirty gym in Scarborough ever.Please dont go their everyone.Thank you.

Negative experience: This location is really not up to my standards. The staff are always chatting at the front and often times I’ve had to wait or call them over just to get help. For example, today I needed to sign in and there were THREE staff chatting behind the desk facing away from the front door (1 male two females). Another thing is their lack of yoga mats. They’re either ripped to pieces or the two that are there are taken. Please work on getting more gym mats and informing your staff to help guests when needed.

Negative experience: Very poor management. Some of the front desk staff is nice but there are a couple of rude girls at the front desk sometimes. Also, the gym is always over crowded. I feel with the highest gym fee in Scarborough, they should keep the gym open for 24 hours. Also, the PT (Sara) is the rudest person I’ve encountered in the gym. The equipments and benches are quite old too. The gym is always dirty like it hasn’t ever been cleaned. It’s just filthy and disgusting.

Fantastic experience: Lula was super helpful in getting me setup with a visitor pass. At peak time it’s not too bad like many other gyms I’ve been to. Thankfully they have parking as well unlike other gyms in the area.

Negative experience: The staff are not nice at this spot, head to cancel membership 2 days before the billing period, apparently you have to come 5 days early. Overall unprofessional and told me to dispute the case with my bank. Never seen all these details in the contract.

Fantastic experience: Really fabulous gym with great staff - shoutout to Lula who helped me set up and eventually cancel my membership when I moved :( This gym is always clean, equipment gets fixed within days if something’s broken, and the clients are all chill. Only thing I’d ask for is a shoulder supported hack squat or pendulum squat machine to add variety but otherwise great gym.

Negative experience: The management is worst especially Ryan. He does not give a damn about what I have to say. And on top of that they are a bunch of scammers. Ryan and another trainer Wazir these two guys forcefully enrolled me into getting wazir as my trainer even though I did not want to. Then I said to cancel but they never listened and scammed almost 700 CAD from me including membership fees because I told them several times that I won’t continue and made it clear but they just forcefully did this to me and ofcourse no refund. These are a bunch of racist people, they just took advantage of me for being a newcomer and being new to the area. Very disappointed.

Negative experience: The cleanliness of this gym is absolutely disgusting . Managers do not care and do not respond to complaints to have basic cleaning done of machines. You are forced as a paying member to clean your own Machines or be grossed out entirely. The cleaners are a joke and their idea of wiping a treadmill is to only wipe tbe black front and nothing else! I have video of it . They have been told over and over and nothing changes . Mgrs change frequently and head office of LA fitness does nothing. Take some ownership and accountability.did u learn nothing from covid. Fire your cleaners or train them properly. If I could give 0 I would.

Negative experience: Im not really sure what happened to this location. It used to be well maintained a few years back especially throughout the pandemic. The staff and cleaners were on top of things. Nowadays, it’s filthy and the maintenance crew can be seen roaming around leisurely without tending to the equipment or place. It’s clear that this location needs to be cleaned. Floors, walls, windows, equipment, and literally every single surface is covered with layers of dust and grime from what seems like months of not being wiped down. Doesn’t LA Fitness maintain on site cleaners that take care of the facility throughout the business hours?

Negative experience: Honestly, this gym is filthy. The washrooms are nasty. The showers have mold growing in them. Also, there are no exercise mats. There are 4 exercise mats in the entire gym. There used to be a stack of them until they were all removed 8 months ago. The people behind the desk are nice but pretty useless when it comes to taking feedback. I went to ask about why the gym doesn't have exercise mats for patrons to use, and the person behind the desk didn't want to write my feedback down. She also accused members of stealing exercise mats and suggested that is why they were all removed :O makes no sense. The only reason I go here is that it's 2 minutes from my home. As soon as another gym opens, I'm ending my membership. This is seriously the worst LaFitness location I've been to.

Negative experience: I was hoping to try this location with a guest pass, along with a family member, who has a membership. Unfortunately, I was denied use of the 3 day guest pass after activating it, and filling out a form with some personal information. I was told by someone in sales that due to the fact I was a former member at a different location,(back in 2020), that I could not use a guest pass because I was a previous member of LA Fitness, different location, for many years. How does this make sense? Very disappointing that I could not experience this location with a pass before deciding on a membership. I'll take my money elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Whenever I show up to the gym, I’m always greeted with friendly faces and great attitudes. The front desk team always has a smile on their face and greets me every time I come in and when I leave. They never refuse to help me if I need it and are always there to answer my questions. Seeing such friendly faces in the morning or in the evening sets the entire mood for my workouts. I am either in the weights section or the women’s only room and both are always so clean. The gym is so clean and organized as well as the women’s washroom. I have enjoyed coming here for 2 months and I am excited to keep going. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym! Been going there for about 4 months now and I couldn’t have been more satisfied. I’m always greeted by the sweetest ladies at the front desk. They never hesitate to answer my questions and make me feel welcome. It’s also worth mentioning that the gym is always so clean and easy to navigate, I’ve never had to worry about a lack of cleanliness at all. I would give this gym 6 stars if I could. I’ve even gotten two of my friends to join after me and they equally love it as well. Overall, I’m highly satisfied with this gym and have zero complaints!

Negative experience: don’t have enough 45 lbs barbells. So when the gym is busy you have to wait unnecessarily because they have 6 barbell and 9 spots to use them so they need 50% more but refuse to buy them. Also the cleaning could be better. Sauna is very good.

Negative experience: Asked for cancellation, but the worker froze my account instead, without mentioning the difference or the charges. I had to go in again to cancel properly. No apology or refund for the fees I had to pay for freezing my account (which was done without my knowledge). The female worker had a bitter attitude. I understand that handling customer’s complaints can be frustrating at times, but still, they are horrible at dealing with customers. Probably the worst I have ever seen.

Positive experience: The equipments are great but there are tears on the equipments’ seat, the bench and various signs of wear and tear that they don’t bother fixing. There’s a light that’s been off for over a month (I’ve noticed it since a month) and it hasn’t been fixed yet. I would still recommend this gym but only if they took good care of it

Negative experience: I have been a member at LA on the Danforth location for a year,including training the staff was great, especially Deon a great trainer. But Tanya, the manager is unfit and doesn't know how to handle customers complain. LA fitness, your operation manager at the Danforth location, needs problem solving training.

Negative experience: This is my home gym and I’m so disappointed by it. I’ve been to much more affordable gyms that have cleaner and overall better facilities. The change rooms are so dated and offer no toiletries or hair dryers. No towel services either at this location. No yoga mats either?? I’ve never had to bring my own yoga mat to a gym before here… wouldn’t believe this is an LA Fitness at all. If you have a choice I would recommend another option.

Fantastic experience: I left my AirPods at the gym last night…I woke up in the morning today and couldn’t find them..I started to get anxious as I had already lost a pair and I just bought these but when I called the gym at around 8 in the morning ETHAN answered and assured me that he found the AirPods and have them safe in the counter..A huge thank you to GOGO and ETHAN for finding my AirPods and keeping them safe.. Fantastic experience: Hey, i’m a paramedic with toronto and just did a call here tonight for a dude found unconscious in the change room and likely had a seizure. i just wanna say thank you to the Staff member who told me i saved his life from a motorbike accident and showed me his wrist tattoo on the hand that faced the bike accident scar. I’m not sure if i conveyed my appreciation enough, since i am doing my fourth night shift in a row today so i was tired and focused on the patient, but i’ve been at this job since i was 22 and am 24 now. to have some one thank me for something i did years ago, which truthfully i can’t remember since i see so much everyday and just move forth with a smile. The fact that the staff remembered me from that incident actually made me smile and meant a lot more than you think sir. i Hope i see u again and i can properly thank you since i couldn’t talk properly today due to the nature of the 911 call. But to that staff member who appreciated and acknowledged me, thank you for that I appreciated ur kind words and i don’t get much good on this job in return for the things i do. but ur words meant alot since it was so unexpecting, but made me happy to see and hear you were thriving today. Negative experience: Scam scam Save yourself the trouble and don't bother with LA Fitness in Danforth, as I had a highly dissatisfying encounter, specifically in regards to their personal training services. I got a serious health issue because of that, and I was not able to go to the gym. I explained my situation to them but received no cooperation. They charged me $6000 without providing any service and never canceled my membership. I am really frustrated.

Positive experience: It's a good gym with nice staff. The girl who signed me up was super sweet and friendly. Front desk staff are always nice, too. I work out in the womens section. It's nice but can get really cramped since this neighborhood is Muslim majority, and women like myself like to take their hijabs/niqabs off to work out. I just wish they had a bigger space for women. They are pretty pushy when it comes to personal training, and don't try to hide their disappointment when you aren't interested in it. Some employees try to squeeze it into conversation too often. Some of the workout equipment is pretty dated and could use an upgrade.

Negative experience: Wish I could give zero stars, the trainer I had messed my knees up for life. All of the staff are immature and EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. None of the staff have went to school for anything clearly. This location is awful I hope no one has to experience what i has to go through. FOREVER TRAUMATIZED FROM THIS PLACE

Fantastic experience: Very clean and well kept gym. Machines are commonly sanitized after use. Staff are friendly and capable of giving good tips while working out specifically a staff member named “finley” who had helped me with putting weights on and off! would visit again!

Fantastic experience: Love working out here! Staff and fellow members are friendly and gym is always clean - especially appreciate Yna she is always friendly whenever I come in and will help me locate equipment or facilities even when she is busy cleaning. Fantastic experience: I don't usually post reviews, but I wanted to take the time to compliment the great staff at this LA Fitness gym. Both friendly and helpful, they made my first week at this gym a positive experience. The Goodlife at Pape is far too crowded now that they closed their Coxwell location. By contract, this gym is clean, bright and there's way more equipment to choose from. Two thumbs up or should I say two big biceps up!

Negative experience: Tonya at the reception is such a rude woman. The first time I scanned my app on my phone and got in with no issue. Today Tonya looked at my face and did not like me and barred me from entry while asking for my ID. She told me that there should be my picture on my membership and I already gave my driver’s licence while enrolling. Why was she asking for ID again? I am very careful giving them IDs as they can steal my information. They already have my credit card information. Moreover Tonya and her colleague Ahmed were allowing other people in who were only scanning their phone membership app while for me they were insisting I produce ID. Enrolment was completed why reception asking me to take pictures an give IDs? Mona tricked me to pay for 2 months while giving me 10 days time to cancel. they made every excuse to not cancel until I was stuck and they took my money! they told me to call head office to cancel, email head office (which never respond to emails) cannot cancel over the phone, has to come in person to cancel, has to come business hours 9-5 to cancel while when I enrolled they took my money night time! etc etc. The receptionist are sooooo rude! Tonya, Ahmed, also the ugly Indian girl wearing glasses etc. Only Mona was nice but then after enrolling I never saw her again!

Negative experience: Horrible racist place. Beware of scam. I was enrolled by Mona and she said I can cancel within 10 days. However after taking 2 months payment from me I tried to cancel but could never get Mona. One time I was told I have to cancel in person. When I go there in person I was then told I have to cancel between 9-5 and cannot cancel on a weekend. they have many employee there but no one can cancel only a manager can! I tried to cancel over 4 times and by then the 10 days were done. When went there to use the facilities because they took 2 months payment from me, a rude receptionist by the name of Tonia or Tonya ask me for my ID. I had my membership on my phone and everyone was scanning their app and going inside but Tonya prevented myself an my husband from going inside while insisting to take our pictures and insisting on IDs. their rude receptionist do everything to desist people from using the facility after payment.

Fantastic experience: I love coming here ! I take training really seriously And I come here daily to fulfil my training program. the front desk staff especially GOGO. Has always made my visit so enjoyable. she is always greeting me with a smile and so kind. The facility has greatly improved, from cleanliness to customer service they have really improved and made sure members are welcomed. I really love the convenience of the free parking available on site for FREE. one of my favourite locations in Toronto. The equipment here is great and lots of great selection and space.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with this location. Management, Mona, has not kept up with the on going issues which have now turned into bigger problems for members. Safety is not a priority at this gym, management, Mona, continues to let things go unnoticed even after concerns were brought forward multiple times. There are no hygiene and cleanliness rules being enforced. Their priorities are not surrounding the members, instead it’s to try and scam people into getting memberships and promoting this location as if it’s something great. The recent comments are far from the truth about management being helpful and kind. Don’t even think twice to go to this location. If you are able to go to another one, I suggest you do so. My friends, family and I will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a LA Fitness member for quite some time and the staff at this location are amazing. The current manager Mona always goes above and beyond to make sure members are enjoying their workouts and she is always happy to help. Anytime I have a concern Mona ensures the problem gets fixed as soon as possible. Definitely would recommend this location!

Negative experience: I’m very disappointed with the management at this gym, I brought a few things to their attention and it seems that my efforts have gone unnoticed. While trying to bring awareness to these issues, it was all to protect females at this gym who were being targeted inappropriately by a certain individual. Due to this matter not being taken seriously enough and even being resolved, I will be leaving. I was happy to bring my own family and friends here in the last few years, but now I would suggest to steer clear and not come to this facility as safety and cleanliness is severely lacking.

Fantastic experience: I just recently moved to Toronto, from Vancouver, and LA Fitness just happens to be my local gym. I've been a member of some very swanky gyms in the past (e.g., Equinox), and if that's what you're looking for than this gym is probably not for you. That said, if you're wanting a clean, spacious, and well-equipped place to workout, than I highly recommend LA Fitness. Also, I can't say enough about the customer service. i've been dealing with Mona, and she's delightful! Mona has gone out of her way to meet my needs and I'm thoroughly impressed with her calibre of customer service. So in summary: well known brand, clean, spacious, well-equipped, and great customer service... also, reasonably priced.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to LA fitness since the end of 2021 and my experience has been exceptional. The staff is so pleasant and also greeting people with their smiles! I also got an amazing deal with the manger Mona! She knew I was looking for a new gym and she set me up with a great plan and I even saved some money ! I would highly recommend LA fitness to anyone that is interested in starting their fitness journey!

Negative experience: This location has continued to get worse and worse over the years. Management is constantly changing and front desk staff as well. Currently, the manager, Mona is very careless when it comes to members expressing their concerns for safety. The issues are not expressed to upper level management as soon as the concern is told, it goes unnoticed and creepy people are able to come and go from the facility. It makes the gym a very uncomfortable place to be in when there are such people around. Especially as a female member it’s very concerning for my friends, family and I. The front desk staff are always on their phones and acting like they’re in a circus and not on the job. Not only that, the equipment is always dirty, people don’t clean up after themselves, they don’t return equipment or clean it after it’s been used. Management continues to fail to enforce hygiene and cleanliness rules. I’ve been to other locations, and I would highly recommend staying far from this one.

Fantastic experience: If you know, I'm the guy with the red dourag - lol so if im there, you know it's a vibe. However, it may seem small - but the people there are truly bigger than what the gym offers ( lac in size ) - but that doesn't matter ! Positive experience: No towel service and the body wash in the shower is basically the general cherry hand soap that schools use. Go to Goodlife they have shampoo, body wash, towel service for the same price! And more locations!

Fantastic experience: Fabio is a total gem , The team is always prompt and cheerful. My wife and I are not into free weights so we don’t have to face the traffic in the specific area. ;) There is enough cardio equipment. We don’t have any qualms! Keep it up team LA fitness!

Fantastic experience: I'm not from Toronto but just visiting, so I had questions about membership and was fortunate enough to have Mona help me out. She had me sorted for a temporary membership within 10 mins. The facility is clean and both well equipped and well kept. Definitely recommend.
