Dec 6th review: A big thank you to one of the nice staff step out of his way to assist our zumba class sound system issues today. 5 stars go toward to you! Our group of ladies was seeking for help and got shit from the self indentified VP person,he was extremely rude and unhelpful. Only repeat to us and said nothing LA fitness can do. When we mentioned it was an ongoing sound system issues since last year we experience. Without providing any solutions, he simply said the class is CANCELLED now and told us (25+ ladies in zumba class) to contact the OPERATION Manager on our own for the concerns and he doesn't want to share the name and email with us. . For the past few month, classes need to be cancelled or running without music background. Members has shared the sound system problems and front desk staff, they always ignore the feedback or only speak in their own languages peoples. Today, one of the Membership sales Rep (Mr. TALL) decided to offer us some tech support, he found us a cable and help to connect to the system. Thank YOU for doing that, although you said we went to the wrong place when we came to you for help but you fixed it!!! To the VP of the Vaughan location: A formal complaint letter will be email to the Head office about how horrible you treated the members today with your poor customer service and conflicts management skill. Zero star goes toward to you and good luck to your career! To the owner: The 2/F ladies room is always spectuclar clean, please keep the same cleaniness standard at the activity room and the female washroom. There is ongoing issues on Male staff works at female changeroom. If its really necessary for male staff to service the area. Your female front desk staff should have stayed with the custodian if he needs to clean the female change room. Often she just announces and walk away. She needs to stay and keep telling member the whole time. Some ladies came out from shower naked and got shocking and angry about it. Female members are often compliant to front desk and was ignored.

Negative experience: No rules. Weights everywhere. People slamming weights. Change room lockers are falling apart. Loose metal brackets that you loop your Lock through. People sitting on equipment using their cellphones. Territorial attitude with many of the customers when resting on the equipment. Won't let you share.

Negative experience: Disgusting. Everything is dirty or broken. Staff are non existent, just show up 20min before closing to tell everyone to pack up and get out. People can randomly walk in because they don’t always have someone sitting at the front (they go wander around for themselves)

Negative experience: For a well-known gym brand, I am surprised to find the condition of this LA location is way below standard. 1. The biggest concern I have with all the LA locations is that there are no sanitizing wipes or sprays for people to wipe/clean the equipment after use. They only provide dry paper towel with hand sanitizing gel/foam, which also been used to clean equipment. During my visits, 95% of members didn't bother to clean the equipment after use. Big red flag. 2. The free weights areas are a mess. Half of the dumbells and barbells are missing from the racks. No one bothers to put things back. There are random dumbells and weights lying around the whole floor. It often takes some luck to find the weights you need for your workout. 3. Not only are the weights hard to find. Bars are usually missing from the pressing branches, and the attachments for the cable machines are hard to locate, too. 4. Garbage is not hard to find on the floor. In those few days of my visit, I only saw one staff sweep the floor once. Cleaning staff are very rare here. 5. There are 3 squat racks and 3 Smith machines. However, there is no weight lifting platform to train deadlifts or power clean, not even an area with a thicker mat on the floor for that purpose. Also, the only plates they have are the octagon plates, which aren't that nice for deadlifts. 6. There is only one small corner for stretching, and people are just stepping on the mats with their shoes on. This is the 2nd LA fitness club I have ever tried, and it is supposed to be a Premier Plus club. But so far, my experience with LA is quite disappointing.
Fantastic experience: Avin was exceltionally helpful in renewing my membership! I was worried about the process due to the immense overhead that is usually present in these situations. She made all of that go away the instant I told her about it. In a place where barriers are broken and harships endured, it's good to know someone's got your back!!

Negative experience: LA fitness has continued to charge my bank accountb repeatedly racking up NSF fees and lcharging several months at a time when they finally hit a moment with money in the account after trying to cancel several times over months and months. I have not darlened theor foorstep since all this began and yet tgey continue to rack up bounce fees and many hundreds of dollars in charges on an account that was supposedly cancelable at any time. Two more months of charges cleaning out my account this week made me realize they're still doing it and left me broke and distressed again. I record all phone calls on my cell as a matter of course and I plan to point the RCMP fraud department their way and look into suing them as it seems the only way to get them to stop. Vaughan was where I created the account and where the manager lady i spoke to last worked. There should be 0 star reviews for companies like this.

Negative experience: I recently signed up for a personal training program at LA Fitness. A team supervisor named Setareh assured me that if I wasn’t satisfied, I could cancel within ten days, and I could even have a free session with a trainer as part of the trial. Trusting her words, I scheduled a session with a trainer named Shadi. Unfortunately, I was extremely dissatisfied with the session, which only strengthened my decision to cancel the same day. However, five days later, I noticed that I had been charged for the session. I contacted Setareh’s manager to express my concerns, explaining that this was completely unfair and unacceptable. It’s troubling that either the team lead is not properly informed about the cancellation policies, or worse, that LA Fitness instructs its employees to mislead customers. I am extremely unhappy with this experience and feel that it is blatant daylight robbery.
Negative experience: My main complaint is the disrespectful staff (most of them), especially those who sit at the entrance. Sometimes I found them even rude. This happened to me a couple of times and many times to other people, and I feel ashamed how they are behaved. That’s why they have a lot of negative reviews because of the staff working at front desk. The place and equipment are also relatively old and not the best compared to other places. I went to cancel my membership as I was not happy with it, they told me it’s 6pm and you can only cancel from 9 to 6. I said okay (cause had no other choice), went and got leave from work the next day to be there at 5. I arrive at 5 and the two people sitting at the entrance told me you can mot since its 9 to 5. When I complained and explained them yesterday they said a different thing, they reluctantly did the cancelation while laughing and whispering together. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
Positive experience: Pretty clean gym, staff are friendly. People don’t wipe down their machines, but sanitizer and paper towels are available. Sauna and pool are very nice.

Negative experience: Today, a rude employee was arguing with gym attendants that the gym is closed. It’s like she didn’t know manners and was yelling at the top of her lungs that the gym is closed. This is unacceptable, gym employees should have proper costumer service skills.
Fantastic experience: I was only using the swimming pool. Its clean and temperature always appropriate and comfortable. Bathrooms are decent clean and best thing that they have one shower that has a seat and hand held shower. This was great for me because I have mobility problem.

Negative experience: I’ve been here from 2019 to the start of Covid and for a gym franchise this is not a good one. Staff doesn’t care about your complaints and won’t fix the issues and the hygiene in the sauna/steam room for the men’s side is horrible. The washrooms always need to be cleaned as well

I encountered NASIM (she is at front desk) several time and she has behaved impolite and rude .Unfortunately, I found her demeanor to be less than professional. Negative experience: A very hard-working cleaner left, and two pigs came in and wandered around every day without doing any work, making the place very dirty.
Positive experience: I have been a member for a number of years and I found this facilitate very convenient and it meets my needs. Customer service is great - Special shoutout to Ian who always tries his very best to listen and help. Nick is also super friendly and helpful. The only thing I would suggest is the facilitate overall especially the pool and poolside area would greatly benefit from a refresh as it is showing signs of wear-and-tear.

Negative experience: The place has some solid points and some weaknesses. Let’s talk about the good ones first. They have a great sales team. However, they are not as strong, professional, and responsive regarding delivery. As an example, for the past week, I have been trying to cancel my service by physically going to the gym twice, and the gentleman at the front (I believe Ian) keeps saying the operation manager is having lunch and would cancel it right after his lunch at which point I would get a confirmation email. I don't want to explain why I wanted to cancel. Still, the response and reaction of the gentleman in front when I briefed him on the reason was priceless, indicating their level of awareness and carelessness about an issue which I thought was surprising :D. To this day, I am still waiting for the operation manager to finish his lunch and send me a cancellation email.

Negative experience: I travel for work and have been to dozens of LA fitness locations across Canada. This location is hands down the worst I’ve been to, by far. The stench of urine will make your eyes water when you enter the bathroom. The stalls are consistently smeared with feces. The showers and sauna have mould and mildew everywhere. Little wannabe thugs are constantly scrapping on the basketball courts, smoking weed in the parking lots and speeding around the parking lot in their straight piped cars. The clientele are awful, juice heads and entitled rich kids. But the icing on the cake is the staff and management. I was attacked at this gym, the management was well aware and were still so careless that they deleted the camera footage and did not provide it to the police. Conveniently, one of the staff members was friends with the individual that attacked me. There is no doubt in my mind they deleted the footage intentionally and also assisted the individual in leaving the gym from the rear fire entrance. If you value personal safety and have hygiene standards higher than that of a homeless person, stay far far away from this gym. Go to Movati and save yourself the awful experience of going here.
Negative experience: Poor maintenance. That's all I see. Noone puts things back in their place, always a mess, no matter what time or day you come. It's discouraging and adds extra time to my workouts just to find what I need. Sometimes the item can be a cross the whole gym where it shouldn't have been in the first place. I gave suggestions to the management, but no changes. Oh well
Negative experience: Truly the worst gym facility Ive been too in a long time. Staff does nothing, they claim they walk around every hour putting away equipment but no one walks around to check on the gym floor they could care less. The trainers look like they could care less about their clients, majority of their time spent hanging around or on their phones. The weights are everywhere, good luck finding dumbbells or plates. Tissue paper all over the floor. Showers disgusting. Waste of a membership.

Negative experience: Hello, This instance have happend a long time ago. I never got a chance to report the issue. At the time of instance I tried calling LA-fitness helpline as to report this racist event Act. Me and wife doing regular workout from last one year at LA fitness (bathust street- Vaughan) facility. I hve been a professional athelete and follow the public gym athics every single day. One day, new hired chinese ethencity manager came to me and ask me to follow him to his cabin. Over there he allegedely gave me the warning to no take gym pictures in my phone, I asked him to check my phone right away, or ellaborate more about complaint, which he fail to do so. 100% it was some mis-understanding, but he was so unproffesional that nobody can keep him as shopkeeper at side street convinience store, how come he became a Manager, I don't know. Anyway, he gave me the warning and his bad behaviour for no reason, which I felt so depressing after. Afterall, when somebody tag bad things on you for no reason, what should we feel like. I asked to invesitgate but he refused, he was not wanted to listen. I feel like he don't need any Indian race people in the gym. From that day I extremely ask my fellow friends to boycott LA-Fitness gyms for the unprofession staff hiring issue. Now switchwd to Goodlife- have been to different facility, never had these kind of issues. They now how to deal with situation.

Positive experience: I go to this location 1-2 times a month. The equipment is okay and it’s much less crowded than my usual location but it could be a bit cleaner (especially the pool and jaccuzi).
Negative experience: Everybody is allowed to take a video when ladies are doing Zumba. It is ridiculous and front desk doesn't care to support people confidentiality.
Positive experience: Only the price is good, facilities are horrible, shampoo for taking shower smells very bad and not available always . Mostly at nights the showers don't have hot water . Some people come with outdoor clothes inside the pool and there is nobody to prevent them .
Negative experience: The shower facilities were dirty, and the jacuzzi was even worse, with visible fat bubbles on the water’s surface. Often, the showers didn’t even have warm water. When I tried to cancel my membership, they initially told me the only way to do so was in person at the gym. However, when I went on a weekend, they said it could only be done on weekdays, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., which was impossible for me. After some research online, I discovered that I could cancel my membership online, something they never mentioned.

Fantastic experience: I noticed the cleaner/staff in the ladies room, she is so hard working she cleaned the mirrors and equipments so well I'm so impressed and I respect her coz she is doing her job so great! She makes the ladies gym room so clean all the time and the locker room, I talked to her today, I thank her for doing her job so great! I guess she is from Chile, I forgot her name I guess its Yanesian Im not sure but she is new and she is amazing.

Negative experience: I've been to a few LA Fitness locations in the GTA and I must say this one is quite ill-maintained compared to the others. The hot tub is closer to lukewarm than hot, and the water is murky. The women's bathroom is often out of paper towels, and sometimes even toilet paper. There's a stall that has been marked as "due for service" for months now. The biggest disappointment I experienced was with the assisted pull-up machines. There are two at this location, right next to each other, but I once found them both broken. The springs were not attached to the weight pin which meant that the weight could not be properly adjusted. There weren't any signs on the machines to let us know that they were broken (they do this at other locations I've visited), so some people who didn't notice or understand were still trying to use them. This is ineffective and potentially dangerous. When I left the gym, I told one of the staff members at the front desk about it and showed her the pictures in this review. She was chatting with a couple of others about her 24th birthday and when she decided to attend to me, she said she would let her manager know about the machines. However, when I returned a few days later, both of them were still broken and there wasn't a notice to be seen. I've been avoiding this location since then, which is a shame because it's one of the closest ones to me.
Negative experience: First week someone stole my shoes from the change rooms. Staff lack any sort of customer service. Facility is unclean and weights are rarely reorganized. Machines are dated and amenities are not well kept. Not much positives about this location.

Negative experience: I rarely leave negative reviews, but this situation demands it. My experience with LA Fitness has been nothing short of infuriating. I received a call from LA Fitness offering a free body check, and though I knew it was probably a tactic to push personal training, I agreed. We scheduled the appointment for 4 PM the next day. When I arrived, the receptionist told me there was no appointment. I was willing to overlook this mistake, so we rescheduled for 2 PM the following day. Then, I found missed calls around 1 PM on the day of the rescheduled appointment. When I called back, I was told my appointment was actually at 12 PM and that there was no availability between 1 and 4 PM. How was I supposed to know that when I clearly agreed on a 2 PM slot? This was the second mistake. I then scheduled another appointment for 5 PM on a different day. I waited until 5:30 PM, only to be told my appointment was actually at 6 PM. That was the final straw. Mistake after mistake—no appointment, then changing the time, and then changing it again. This is completely unacceptable. I’d rather pay a chiropractor or nutritionist than deal with this disorganization. To make matters worse, it seems someone at LA Fitness is trying to blame me for rescheduling when I haven’t rescheduled anything. As a software engineer, I’m meticulous with details and I know for a fact that these errors are not on my end. This whole experience has been extremely frustrating and uncomfortable. If there’s a better option nearby, I’ll be leaving LA Fitness immediately.
Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at LA Fitness. The gym was overcrowded, making it difficult to access the equipment I needed. To make matters worse, the facility was dirty and messy, with weights left all over the place and a general lack of cleanliness. My experience with my personal trainer, Tanaz, was particularly frustrating. I didn’t feel that she was attentive to my needs or goals. There was little communication or personalized guidance, which made the sessions feel unproductive and a waste of my time and money. Overall, my experience at LA Fitness was far from what I expected, and I wouldn’t recommend this location to others.

Negative experience: Front desk workers have absolutely the worst customer service, came back to give them benefit of the doubt and still had no regard to greet us or answer questions. Employees talked to each other for about 5 minutes before looking up and asking if we needed something. Partners shoes got stolen, asked the front desk if she knew anything; she shrugged her shoulders looked under the desk and couldn’t even take initiative to ask a co worker.. management please train your workers and hire better customer service based people!

Negative experience: Khodayar: The employees are very bad and rude and they disrespect the members and they don't get good training for this because they don't know the meaning of the hostess card and today they upset me and took my exercise time and I don't recommend this sports complex to others because it is very dirty and worn and the pool is not clean at all In my opinion, La Fitness Richmond Hill only wants to charge money from the customer, but has no commitment regarding the cleanliness and service of the club and pool, and this club will surely become one of the bad clubs in Richmond Hill due to the weak management. And the rude staff and please pay attention to the pictures in the pool because our grandfathers and grandmothers used to swim there and they might slip because of the bad floor or the roof might fall on them.

They spray the washroom With a hose and leave it.. the floor is never not wet.. there is never soap to wash hands.. smells horrible. Disgusting! Negative experience: Today saturday at 8am we were supposed to have zumba class with mobina. Everyone was waiting till 8:40 for the instructor and when she was late and we told reception the receptionist mentioned 10 minutes prior she canceled. It's very disappointing for the class to be canceled ten minutes before whereas everyone else had been there and ready. Even worse, the receptionist who knew the class was canceled and was very chill at the front desk, seeing people come in for the same class which had been canceled and didn't say a word about it. It's awful that people don't respect others time.
Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with this branch of LA Fitness! When signing up, they behave very well; but I have had a very bad experience with Mr. Babak, the personal training staff! once I decided to cancel my agreement and I admitted all the points of the agreement, his behavior was truly unprofessional and impolite! I like LA Fitness but from now on, I prefer to go to the other branches!!!
Negative experience: this gym is disgusting. i went a few times with my friends as a guest to check it out as its 1 minute drive from where i live but the place is always crowded with loud people who are just hanging around (most of them are employees) and most of the staff are extremely entitled and disrespectful especially the lady with the curly short hair who is usually at the front. she yells disrespectfully and make fun of the members to make them leave the gym earlier so she could start the closing procedure.

Positive experience: Big change in cleanliness.Many thanks to Yessenia and Jasmine the janitors they are hardworking and have warm personality.I saw Jasmine was cleaning the molds behind the liquid soap’s container which wasn’t really noticeable. I really appreciate Nick’s caring and polite manner ,he makes me feel that I am always welcome as a customer . Thank you Babak , the charming manager who made a big difference in being clean and organized Showers and exercising space.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym with amazing facilities. I’ve been going here for over a year and have never had a negative experience. The best part about the gym is that it has boxing bags which is great for those who are into MMA and want to train outside their regular martial arts gym.

Sauna is full of mold, shower walls are moldy everyday , they water down the soaps, never put paper towel, Weights are all over the place, members are disgusting, sales are scammers , management lacks enthusiasm, the cleaners are completely lazy and slow moving. Over crowded with a bunch of snobby people who they are all better than each other We noticed a big change in maintenance and because of that a group of us have been cancelling and going to the gym that’s an additional 15 minutes away.
Negative experience: My credit cards were stolen in the locker room on a Sunday afternoon, even though it was locked. Some other dudes reminded me to be cautious because they also got properties lost in the locker room but I didn't pay attention thinking it was safe as long as I have my things locked. Interestingly though 'they' did not take my ID or car fob. So just be mindful of your belongings when the change room is not that crowded.
Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with LA Fitness and their deceptive practices. When signing up, I was very clear with Ian, the staff member assisting us, that we wanted the $44.99 monthly membership with an initiation fee of $75. To my shock, my credit card was later charged twice: once for $124.30 ($55 + $55 + HST 13% ) for the first and last month, and later an unexpected annual fee of $77.97. Not only was the monthly fee different from what was agreed upon, but the annual fee was never disclosed during the sign-up process. This hidden fee is completely unacceptable and feels like a deliberate attempt to mislead customers. I have called multiple times to resolve this issue, but every time, I am given the runaround and told that someone will get back to me, which never happens. I finally got hold of Ian again, but now he is saying things that contradict what was originally told to us. This inconsistency and lack of accountability is incredibly frustrating. This experience has left me with a very negative impression of LA Fitness. I strongly advise anyone considering a membership here to be very cautious and ensure you get all the details in writing. Their lack of transparency and poor customer service is appalling.
Fantastic experience: I had an exceptional experience at LA Fitness in Rutherford, thanks to Nick, the manager. His customer service is outstanding, and he went above and beyond to help me with a problem I was facing. Nick's professionalism, attentiveness, and willingness to assist made a huge difference, turning a potentially frustrating situation into one of the best experiences I've ever had at a gym. Positive experience: Usually very full and crowded The facility is kept fairly clean. The price is not what it seems. They charge an initiation fee for joining and if you want to take a pause or your injured and you want to freeze, they charge you for that as well if you know you will be able to go consistently and in the early mornings, this is a good gym for you, otherwise I wouldn’t bother.
Negative experience: Employees give you inaccurate information solely to persuade you to sign the contract, regardless of its arrangement. The conduct of Front Desk staff lacks professionalism and warmth. The Personnel Training area doesn't have enough room for exercising, and it's so crowded that some movements are restricted due to the limited space. Giving this location one star is quite generous.
Positive experience: I visited LA FITNESS at 9350 Bathurst St, Vaughan, ON L6A 4N9, and found the facilities to be a bit outdated and not as clean as I expected. The gym could use some renovations, and the changing rooms were a bit messy, as you can see in the attached picture. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I hope they improve the cleanliness and update the facilities soon.
Positive experience: Pretty clean facilities, one of the more affordable gym memberships, nice Women’s Area (quiet, variety of equipment in the room), sometimes hard to find weights.

While the gym has a decent selection of machines and free weights, many of them are showing signs of wear and tear. Investing in some new equipment would greatly enhance the overall experience for members. Lastly, the gym tends to get very crowded after 3pm, which can be frustrating for those looking to squeeze in a workout during peak hours. It would be helpful if the gym could implement some strategies to manage the crowd and ensure that everyone has a positive experience, even during busy times.
Negative experience: I have been a member at LA Fitness but had to stop after an injury during a personal training session. Despite a formal notice confirming the end of my membership and training, I am still being billed $XXX CAD/month plus tax for unused sessions. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this through calls, emails, and mail, I've received no follow-up from customer service. This ongoing issue has caused significant stress and financial burden. The lack of prompt and serious response from LA Fitness is concerning, and I am considering filing a complaint with Consumer Protection Canada. Please be aware of these potential issues with their customer service and billing practices before joining.
Negative experience: Seems like the management doesnt care about cleanliness of the gym. Its busy, and each client is paying their monthly fees… i just dont understand how this place has dirty carpets.. dirty sinks.. some cabinets had clothes for days… so the staff member doesnt check the change room by the end of the day.. ?? hard to imagine how the place was running during an early post-covid time. Yes, its not as new as sheppard-young location, but it takes an hour per day to clean the place… and the reception desk doesnt seem to care either. Not pleased with this location.. management must be changed.
Positive experience: I go to LA Fitness in Vaughan location. The price is not bad but the bathrooms are not clean and the devices are old. The Jacuzzi doesn’t work most of the time. The good thing is that my personal trainer is Darush who is very expert and responsible. I am very satisfied to have a professional personal trainer.
Negative experience: Mens changing room and gym itself is dirty, weights are always scattered everywhere, gym seems always over capacity. People sneak in constantly. Employees are on their phones 99% of the time. Such a disappointment we had to cancel our Goodlife memberships for this.
Negative experience: Someone stole my black CK black jacket today from the locker. I went to front desk non one was there. I went to office and the girl with long dark hair told me barely taking her eyes away from her cell phone that there is nothing they can do and that such things happened … “there is even sign about it in the app“… well they should also place sign that things can be stolen and no one would care … I am canceling my membership.
Negative experience: 1.I recently visited LA Fitness here and tried out their Jacuzzi. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my experience due to several issues with the Jacuzzi's temperature control. The water temperature was inconsistent, sometimes being too hot and other times not hot enough, especially during colder weather. The fluctuating temperature made it difficult to relax and enjoy the Jacuzzi fully. It's crucial for such facilities to maintain a steady and comfortable temperature for patrons to have a pleasant experience. I hope LA Fitness addresses this issue promptly to ensure a more consistent and enjoyable Jacuzzi experience for all visitors. 2.The sign indicating the entrance to the women's dressing room from the swimming pool should be more obvious. I witnessed a man walking into the ladies' shower room for about a minute, which was concerning and unsettling.
Negative experience: Lots of rubbery happens in changing room. Unsafe place to exercise, never leave your stuff in locker they break and stone all your stuff even your brand jacket. Sooooo cheap GYM to go.
Negative experience: They don't deserve any stars. This place is a nightmare. Evey where is dirty and disorganized . When you want to register, the sales tell you a bunch of lies. don't trust a single word of them. The front door staff are rude and impolite. Doing nothing but talking and laughing. Don't even check the memberships. So don't register and save your money. Just go inside and workout free of charge!

Negative experience: Worst Gym and worst place in Canada that I have ever been is this gym. The manager and employees only focuses on getting our money, and doesnt care much afterwards. Inspite of decling additional services, they still charge me Twice thousand bucks and manager doesnt take any steps or talk adter informing this been 2 months already and they don't care. There are many gyms there, don't waste your time and money here.
Fantastic experience: Today was my first experience with la fitness vaughn branches Everthing was perfect very clean mr Behtash was amazing he explained exactly about programs he was very helpful I went to lot of fitness clubs but i recommend this branch to everyone.
Negative experience: I have never left a review before but this one is well needed. The middle aged Persian lady with short hair at the front desk was very rude to me today. There was an issue with our family membership but we were informed that it was fine for us to go in until it is resolved. She gave me such a hard time and I explained the whole situation but she was acting like I was trying to get away with something. She was being very confrontational and was interrogating me. She obviously has zero customer service experience and she doesn’t know how to treat loyal customers. I have never had this issue with any other employee. She definitely needs to shadow other employees in order to better prepare herself for her position.
Negative experience: I have been to a lot of LA Fitness locations throughout the GTA and this one is by far the worst. Weights are always scattered in no particular order making it hard to find two of the same dumbells. I have never seen that at any other gym except for this one
Positive experience: Daryush has been an outstanding personal trainer for the past year, guiding me through my fitness journey with expertise and dedication. His customized workouts and motivational approach have been instrumental in my progress, earning him a well-deserved 5-star rating. However, I must mention that the LA Fitness facility where we trained only deserves a 1-star rating due to subpar equipment and maintenance issues. Despite this, Daryush's commitment and skill shine through, making him the highlight of my fitness experience.
Negative experience: Do not waste your money.. this place sucks. 9/10 employees just sit on their phones the entire time while people sneak in, they should be fired and more cleaning staff hired. The mens change room is absolutely disgusting.. can’t even breathe in the mens washroom section. Not to mention the large pool of water that went unattended for over an hour (picture below) beside the personal training section. Their overall strategy is highly questionable.. how can you allow one paying member to bring two guests each time. They simply don’t have the capacity especially with the people who sneak in to accommodate this.
Negative experience: Be aware that this club is scaming teens into signing a contract for memberships without clear understanding. They tell kids that memebership is only $45 and cancel any time and take bank information for preauthorized payments and later charge amounts that kids did not expect or aware and if you cancel the payments is laready made at least 2 months ahead.
Negative experience: I don’t get what happened, I thought LA fitness was one of the top gym franchises in Ontario, better than good life, but Goodlife seems to be investing more in renovations and keeping their locations up to date, modern, and clean. This location looks like it’s from the 90’s and hasn’t been renovated in decades. There are also only 3 squat racks which is insane even during non busy times, and this location is pretty busy so I don’t know how 3 squat racks are enough. Mind you that is also 3 free deadlift racks. Fitness Connection on Elgin has way more racks, turf and all, and also has more modern up to date machines than LA which I thought to be one of the more premier gym franchises. The location and pool amenity is the most convenient for me that’s why I chose it…but if I had a gym closer to me I’d definitely drop LA asap. Not to mention everything that all the other reviewers are saying, it’s dirty unkept and there’s only like 5 yoga mats in the stretching area too like what…? So disappointed I thought LA Fitness was a premier brand…no wonder my membership fee was cheaper than I expected (still had to pay almost 100$ in one time fees though)
Fantastic experience: The two front desk people, arvin and nazgol are very lovely and professional individuals. They Always have a smile and make sure every member is well taken care of.
Negative experience: I wish there was 0 star to give. The place is unkempt and overcrowded, with inadequate maintenance, pervasive dust, and hair accumulation. Lockers emit unpleasant odors, and the court is consistently monopolized by a single group. Management is notably subpar. Many people come inside with scanning their cards and from door staff don't care busy with talking to each other and laughing. Rude and irresponsible

Fantastic experience: Nazgol at LA Fitness has been an absolute delight every time I've visited the gym! Her welcoming attitude and efficiency in handling inquiries or membership-related matters are commendable. Negative experience: Would not recommend for playing basketball. The court was fine, except for the fact that there is only one court (2 nets) and it doesn’t have the best lighting and sound deadening. I believe having a single court with no scheduling contributed to a confrontation between me, my friend and another party. When we arrived, there were 2 parties of people (one at each net). Me and my friend waited for the party at the left side net to finish up and asked them if we could shoot. Once they were finished, they allowed us to shoot (which was at the left side net). The party at the right side net had not yet finished playing. Not even 3 minutes went by, and out of nowhere I see like 10 people (which turned out to be both parties combined) running towards me and my friend at the right side net, (we were at the left side net). Apparently they decided to start a full-court game without letting us know, (even though they were aware of me, my friend and one other person from the previous left side net party, taking turns shooting). When they almost ran into me, they told me to get out of the way which sparked the confrontation. My friend and I were confused and confronted them mid-game about it. I’m sure you can guess what they said to us after that. In the end, we were basically forced to leave and head home. Based on this, maybe they weren’t the nicest of people but since you can’t change the attitude of people, you can definitely change the rules of the court. (Apparently during the confrontation the right side net party claimed they go there very often, so I can only imagine the trouble that other people would have playing there). Therefore, I believe implementing a scheduling system (which would maybe include staff) and adding more nets would reduce unnecessary confrontations, if not stop them. Everyone is just trying to have a good time. To anyone reading, thank you for reading this whole thing, I know it’s long.
Negative experience: Extremely poor management, even once in a while this gym is clean, just because some other members make bad decisions doesn't disqualify all the other members that are paying for those services. Instead of finding those members and have their membership suspended for some time?
Positive experience: Not bad. Can be too busy in the gym. In summers it gets too hot upstairs in the weights area. Need to fix that as it can be hard to breath. Staff are nice. Girls can be pretty. ;) Equipment is descent. Bathroom can be dirty at times but that is because people are pigs and raised in a barn it seems with no parental guidance on cleanliness.
Negative experience: I have been a member from the beginning. When Management doesn't care, why would the members? We try and put the weights back and tidy as best we can, as members, but this is the only LA Fitness in the GTA that looks like a complete garbage dump. It surprises me that the this facility continues to pass all Health code requirements. The cleaning staff do their best, but this location is grossly understaffed. Hire a few people who's sole purpose is to help the members and keep the weights racked and in the correct order. It can be a great place, but apathy has set in and it is a mess. A whole group of us in the morning are moving to Fusion because of this.
Fantastic experience: Love this place, especially the policy allowing members to bring a guest each time for free. It's a much better value than GoodLife and a similar good experience with the machines and weights.
Fantastic experience: My husband and I signed up today and I was very pleasantly surprised walking in. I was a member of planet fitness and this is definitely an upgrade. They have a membership plan for everyone and Mel explained all Of them with detail ask for her if you come in!

Negative experience: I really want to say this location set a very low standard for hygiene in changing room. I've never seen any refill of toilet cover seat and the toilet itself definitely needs cleaning. The staffs are unfriendly and not helping at all. All I can say is this location is poorly managed.
