Fantastic experience: I wasn't sure what to expect when joining my first Fight class. It was amazing and excruciating at the same time. I learned that I have a long way to go in my fitness journey, but also that I found the right place to do it! Also every yoga class I've joined has been amazing! It's enabled me to carry things I've learned to other areas of my life. My journey is only just beginning

Fantastic experience: The people who are working at this location are always helpful and friendly. I felt comfortable immediately when I was signing up (thank you, Megan!) There's also a wide array of classes available, most of which I enjoyed so far. Lovely folks working at the front desk and generally a warm environment to workout at! :)

Fantastic experience: Walked in to sign up with my corporate discount and they had a better deal going on that they gave me instead. Everything was explained in detail and was also provided a tour. I've already taken a few classes and those are worth the membership alone in my opinion! I love the 24/7 access to any gym in the city as well.

Positive experience: I like this shapes location I have been coming to this location for 3 years, staff is extremely friendly even though the turn over is high here, only complaint is that at night the whole of portage avenue and the Westwood parking lot has night time views of inside and what we are doing, and we can’t tell visibly what’s outside. It leaves me feeling vulnerable when working out, especially on treadmills and stair master as our backs are facing the giant windows. It would be nice if one day they got some sort of one way cling to block outside peeps/ possible creeps, or at minimum ease my anxiety about it, I’m sure I’m not that only one that feels this way. But I still enjoy the staff :)

Negative experience: They deserve 0 star. Worst experience. The staff are not friendly and not educated enough about membership. This corporate sounds very scams because they don’t even provide any disclosure when u sign up. They do not disclose any information. They tell you things verbally which is not even true. I went to other location and got different information. All they want to do is getting customer. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied. Even the back office is not helpful. I emailed them 2 times no response at all. I made biggest mistake joining this gym. It’s my first and last time. Never gonna join again.

I love the classes, the facility is always spotlessly cleaned, small gym but has everything you need and more such as a punching bag! If you're considering joining a gym and you're female (non coed facility) look no more this is your place

Negative experience: Even charged for me when my membership is done .. my membership was till September n they guys are deducted money from my account I already inform them that I don’t want to continue from September n in October they said I need to give 30 days notice it’s just ridiculous.. wastage of money totally…lady who talk to me in this morning don’t no anything

Fantastic experience: Love this place ! The staff are the best , they go over and above for us . I attended the hot yoga classes everyday and love the active class for some cardio balance! Highly recommended , I've never felt so strong and healthy!

Fantastic experience: I used to be a member at this location before life took me other places. I came back for a drop-in because my daughter is now a member. Employees were very kind and welcoming and some of my favourite instructors are still teaching classes. It was a warm, feel-good experience to be back at Shapes.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of shapes fitness club for many years. I like the staff & fitness classes. there isn't enough machines at this location, but they have many different fitness classes. they also have hot yoga classes at least couple of times a day. It is the comradery of the members & staff that makes Shapes different from other clubs. You always feel welcome & comfortable. The negative comments that I see is from the people who don't think it through when they sign up & they think they're at safeway returning things!!! Quite frankly, you can't return anything anywhere that easily!! Sooooo, think before you sign or buy!!!

Positive experience: Staff are friendly. Hot restorative yoga class was good but instructor was not watchful of students struggling with poses. Recumbent bicyclye does not work and staff were unaware it was broken.

Fantastic experience: Love being a member at Shapes. Have been a member for close to 3 years. The group fitness classes are awesome and I find the quality of the fitness instructors to be amazing! I believe there is something for everyone here - keep trying the different classes until you find your fav. The members also have the option of doing some classes from home watching a live stream of classes. Really cool and offers another excellent degree of flexibility. The Hot Yoga classes are great and are only a couple of extra dollars on your monthly membership fee which is well worth it in my opinion. I see some negative comments on the cancellation policy from other reviews and would encourage everyone to do their homework prior to becoming a member and know what you’re responsibilities are regarding cancellations. My experience has always been top notch at Shapes - Westwood! Deff a great place to work on your health and fitness!

Negative experience: NEVER sign up with them they are a rip off and only want your money. Signed up for a year contract and they wont cancel my membership. With covid I wasnt even able to go to the gym for months and was still paying for my membership throughout it, They do not care about their clients. Go somewhere else, it will be a lot cheaper.

Negative experience: Beware! Tried to cancel membership due to losing job to covid, emailed back and fourth with Christina and was basically told too bad, covid effected everyone. Showed absolutely no compassion to the situation. Very inconsiderate. Will never recommend or give this company any further business and hopefully you don't either.

Negative experience: Got a free trial to go here years ago. was treated VERY rudely and told I needed to pay because I wasn’t “seriously considering joining the gym.” So I paid because I was already there. Left a review about my negative experience with management afterwards. But like 3 years later they are still calling and emailing me to join. Please lose my contact info, you lost any chances you had with me on my first visit.

Positive experience: The gym and the staff were great! I am only giving 4/5 stars because they didnt have a the equipment that I like to use to it limited what I can do. I like to train crossfit and a lot of what I needed they did not have. But everything else was great! The staff, the facility!

Fantastic experience: Westwood Shapes has such a comfortable, neighbourly vibe. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, always smiling! The instructors are incredible and make each class fun... the hour flies by and the workouts you get are top notch! Facility is on the smaller side, but it has EVERYTHING you need and is superbly clean. 24 hour access allows me to have the entire gym to myself at times.

Fantastic experience: I felt very good about getting a membership with your gym. I am very comfortable there as it is an all women's gym. The personal trainer and customer service is very excellent. They made me feel I can achieve my goal and continue to strive. I especially like the all-access key so I can go to the gym at my schedule. I would highly recommend this gym to anybody who is looking for a very good gym to attend.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member at Shapes in Westwood for a few months now and it has been the best gym experience I've ever had. The staff is fantastic, it is the cleanest gym I've ever seen and the equipment is always in working order! Having the 24hr access is so convenient. The classes I've gone to have been great and I'm working with one of their personal trainers which has been such a great experience for me - and life-changing! I only wish I had got a membership sooner!

Positive experience: Overall it’s a pleasant gym, I’m not 100% sold on it. If it wasn’t for what I pay (corporate membership) I’d probably go back to GL or F4L I find it odd that for what most people have to pay for a membership, you have to give your membership card to front desk and “sign out” barbell clips. It’s inconvenient, especially when you have to go after staffed hours. The wash clothes used to sanitize machines could be changed more regularly.

Positive experience: Kathleen was amazing. She is approachable and comfortable to talk to. She made proper recommendations for my fitness level but didn’t make me feel like a total newbie that will fail at my goals like most gym associates do. It was nice to have a real person sign me up and not someone who was so far out of reach in comparison to me. I have heard from a friend who signed up with someone else and they didn’t have the same experience so I highly reccommend how Kathleen treats and handles clients as I wouldn’t have signed up if I got the other staff member that was rude to my friend. Sorry I didn’t catch her name.

Positive experience: My first few visits at Shapes (Westwood) has been a positive one. The staff are very friendly and willing to go that extra distance to make sure your visit is a pleasant one. I have started doing the hot yoga there and I find myself feeling very relaxed after. I highly reccomend this location to any women who want a fantastic gym:)

Negative experience: I’ve never had a worse experience than with this gym. Due to a job re-location to a remote area with no Shapes location they won’t allow me to cancel my membership. What kind of service is this!? All other gyms allow a cancellation with a penalty amount but Shapes isn’t even willing to negotiate. Staff are extremely unhelpful and rude.

Fantastic experience: Love shapes!! The facilities are clean and available 24 hrs to members. Good selection of equipment and the option of co-Ed or women’s only. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable! I won’t go anywhere else since I’ve started working out at shapes. Favourite location is McPhillips. Great variety of challenging fitness classes and hot yoga as well.

Fantastic experience: I enjoy working out in this gym a lot, super friendly environment and convenient location to me. My personal trainer Dr. Kevin Richardson is THE BEST! I lost 20 lbs in 3 months, not only he trains me physically, but also he gives me lots of nutrition suggestions which changed my life. Also, hot yoga classes they have are phenomenal. I highly recommend this gym!

Fantastic experience: It was a good experience! The front desk girl helped answer all my questions and gave me a tour of the facility. She even suggested I take a picture of the class schedual so I have it when I need it!! Smart thinking!! They have great classes to join, and have the option for personal training sessions.

The Manager is A+ for her friendliness, I did not feel pressured to purchase a membership or join a class when I first visited, we talked about how I could benefit in the long run from any level of membership. I ended up getting a personal trainer & they are great to work with, pretty flexible to my busy schedule.

Fantastic experience: The woman’s only shapes in Westwood is a fantastic gym. Love the environment and staff. They are very friendly and can answer any questions you may have. I like that fact that it’s an only woman’s facility and it’s open 24/7 with a swip card. They have a new tanning bed and it’s a very cheap monthly fee for unlimited compared to actual tanning salons Overall I really like this gym!
