Fantastic experience: BaseCamp is more than a fitness gym. The fitness is 2nd to none, high quality, professionally laid out and small classes. Graham and his family have created a community within the gym and I am very grateful to be part of it.

Fantastic experience: A great place. Came here for some rehab and strengthening after an injury, started with some very effective personal training and now complete the classes with Graham and Mitch. The community is great, its like a support group for people who enjoy self-inflicted suffering. The workouts can be hard, and leave you feeling like a wounded warthog afterwards, but feeling stronger every day makes me want to come back.

Fantastic experience: Graham runs an excellent crossfit gym. He is very knowledgeable and works with each of his clients, modifying exercises as required. I saw my sports med Dr the other day. She was so very impressed at how well Graham has trained and strengthened my knees (which will eventually need replaced). We have so much fun, mixed in with hard work. I believe this is the best gym I have ever been a part of. Friendly, supportive and very effective. I am 63, and joined 1.5 years ago. I finally got my 65 yr old husband to join 6 months ago. Now he is hooked as well. I was so scared to join ( 61, overweight, unfit with bad knees), and now I just can’t imagine not being here. Come for a visit, you will love it.

Fantastic experience: I feel like I have discovered the hidden gem in Calgary fitness world! I have been exercising for many years and trying various gyms and fitness styles. I've never felt as fit as I do now after six months here at Graham’s Basecamp Fitness and Lifestyle gym. Graham is one of the most knowledgeable trainers I’ve worked with, and his unique approach is both structured and tailored to each person’s fitness level. He creates a safe and incredibly effective program that follows a well thought out plan, targeting every muscle and offering plenty of variety, so I’m never bored! One of the standout benefits is that my lower back pain has disappeared, and I feel stronger, faster and overall healthier. The exercises also help me with my climbing and running activities. I can’t recommend Graham and his gym highly enough!

Fantastic experience: I met Graham, the owner, also a participant in the group workouts. He had me come into the gym for an assessment to learn what my level of fitness was. It was decided that I needed some, one on one training, to get myself up to speed, as I did not need an injury. I am also 60+ years young. I joined the Base Camp in June of this year. Mitch, my trainer, is working with me one on one until I learn all the proper techniques, also to gain strength. He is very enjoyable to work with. The group that works out prior to me, are very encouraging with each other as well as myself. We are at different fitness levels but push each other to do our best. I highly recommend Base Camp Fitness & Life style

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member with BASECAMP for over two years - I live at a distance (Nova Scotia) so my workouts have been provided and supported by Coach Graham on-line. I am 65+ years old and my personalized workout regimen has been instrumental in helping me continue outdoor activities I enjoy…hiking, biking, golf, skiing. Throughout my involvement, support has always been available and any questions have been welcomed and readily addressed. Even though I am at a considerable distance from Calgary, I have always felt part of the BASECAMP community. I would heartily recommend BASECAMP to anyone looking to maintain their fitness so they can continue to participate in the activities they enjoy.

Fantastic experience: I have been training with Graham for the past 6 months and have gained tremendous knowledge and strength. He has developed a program that tracks my progress and works towards my goals - not just generic training sessions. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I started training at Basecamp in January 2024 with no previous experience in CrossFit. Graham was very welcoming and helped me work within my physical limitations, I had a shoulder injury and he helped me modify exercises accordingly. It’s been 9 months and I’ve regained my mobility, feel a lot stronger and I love how supportive and encouraging the Basecamp community is. Aside from classes there are lots of opportunities to participate in events and creating community. Graham and Mitch are excellent coaches, always ready to give feedback and help everyone. Classes are fun and engaging, and the environment is not overwhelming at all. I highly recommend Basecamp to anyone looking to start their fitness journey!

Fantastic experience: I am 73 years old and joined the gym in June 2022. The first day on my assessment, my legs were wobbly and could not lift heavy weights. Today, after 2 1/4 years, I have regained my balance, after going to the workouts for 3 days a week consistently. I am lifting weights where the increments in weight are going up considerably. Crossfit has made me thoroughly disciplined to attend classes and meet the friendly atmosphere which is so important for the health and lifestyle. The greatest improvement I find is that I have worked on my glute muscles so much that it has enabled me to walk steadily and not put too much pressure on my knees. It is a work in progress. I have so much stamina/energy now which has helped me to finish the workouts in the time allotted. Since last week I have also found a 4th gym class ie Pilates. for the week...and do not not tire after 4 gym classes in a week. I recommend Coach Graham , and he is an excellent, patient, and well versed in his profession. He has also modified some workouts for me to suit my ability and age. Hats off to Coach Graham

Fantastic experience: I never imagined I’d enjoy CrossFit, but after wanting a change from the typical gym routine, I decided to give Basecamp a try—and I’m so glad I did! The community is incredibly welcoming and uplifting, which made it easy to stick with it. The coaches, Graham and Mitch, are both extremely knowledgeable and always push you to reach your goals. Fantastic experience: BASECAMP Fitness & Lifestyle has been a game changer for me! I was tired of the same old boring gym routine with no direction, so I decided to try something different—and I’m so glad I did. Graham (the owner) and my coach Mitch have created an incredible environment that makes every workout both fun and effective. The community is amazing, and the best part is everything is planned for you. Just show up, put your phone away, and get it done! The workouts are a mix of CrossFit and Hyrox style, and there’s even an app to track your progress, which keeps me motivated. I’ve never been stronger! Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Basecamp for about 6 months and I can’t recommend it enough! The community here is incredibly supportive, from the coaches to the other members. Every workout is challenging but adaptable for all fitness levels, and the coaches are amazing at providing guidance and encouragement. I’m consistently impressed by the quality and thoughtfulness of the functional fitness programming offered at BASECAMP by Coach Graham. Fantastic experience: I was looking for the beat CrossFit gym in Calgary and definitely have found it. Great place to build your body and improve your mental health. There’s everything you need for doing cross training workouts and grow your strength. Graham is very qualified and strong coach with years of experience, his training program always effective and different for all body muscles progression. Highly recommended BaseCamp and Graham ️‍♂️

Fantastic experience: BASECAMP is not only a gym but it builds a community! I’ve been going here for about two years and I am stronger than ever!! The head coach, Graham, is so knowledgable and even helped me hit my PR for a marathon this year through his online run program! Basecamp draws in such a fun community of amazing and strong individuals and not to mention some good belly laughs!! Graham recently brought in another coach, Mitch, and he was a perfect balance for the classes. Mitch has excellent knowledge in Olympic lifting and is always giving helpful cues to ensure we have proper form. This gym has various programming cycles so you really start to see progress in various aspects of working out such as cardio or weight lifting. I know it might feel intimidating joining a new gym, but with Basecamp it’s all smiles and laughs!!

Fantastic experience: Graham is a great instructor and a down to earth individual. The classes are challenging but always accommodating to people with differing levels of experience and abilities. Other members are encouraging during the workouts and great to chat with afterwards. All in all a great space with smaller class sizes designed to maximize your potential.

Fantastic experience: I've know the owner/operator of Basecamp Fitness & Lifestyle (Graham MacDonald) for 4 years. Graham is the most passionate engaged fitness person that I know. He has created a completely inclusive welcoming facility that hosts members from all fitness levels. Graham operates this gym with a focus on improving people's health with a focus on increased mobility and strength. I often joke with others that Graham has a PhD in body mechanics (joking aside, Graham has an impressive academic resume); when you have something bothering you and/or holding you back from achieving your fitness goals, then Graham always has the answers and modifications to ensure members get back on track. I'm currently working with Graham on addressing a shoulder issue that has been inhibiting my performance for years. Graham developed a program for me that has helped me immensely. He is extremely patient as a coach and respected and loved by all the members. Basecamp is a new gym that opened in 2021; the gym is professionally outfitted with all the latest new equipment; the gym is meticulously maintained and cleaned.

Fantastic experience: BASECAMP offers insanely smart, balanced, and challenging workouts. My overall fitness has improved astronomically since training with Graham. He takes the time to get to know each and every one of his members and knows how to modify movements based on each individuals’ strengths and limitations. The community is amazing and while it’s a great place to release my competitive nature, everyone here is welcoming, supportive, and I always leave feeling like I am building a strong and healthy body to last me well into my 90s (when I plan to take home gold at the age category CrossFit games).

Fantastic experience: Basecamp fitness is by far the beat gym in all of Calgary! Graham has built an amazing gym where everyone of all fitness levels and ages are welcome. The gym is amazingly clean with great equipment and the programming is very focused and adaptable for all abilities and Graham puts an amazing amount of focus into each member.

Fantastic experience: This gym truly offers something for every age with the overall goal to maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle. Graham's knowledge base gives him the ability to modify any movement "on the fly" to ensure everyone attains their desired fitness goals while remaining injury free. Every workout begins with a well thought out warm up and mobility session to ensure one's body is ready for a solid workout. An added bonus is the wonderful community he has built since open in the gym and the fun social events that allow people to explore new outdoor activities.
