Positive experience: Good community center. Small gym. Great Zumba classes! Old building, has seen better days. Parking is tight and always busy.

Negative experience: The staff is mad rude

Negative experience: It’s a community centre for seniors. They could do a better job of doing background checks on the “contractors” they hire for kids program.Some of them even call themselves “coach” ok “coach” please speak English I can’t understand a word coming out of your mouth “coach” Don’t waste your money signing up for anything here. Disappointing to say the least. Parking is horrendous.

Negative experience: My experience today trying to explore the seniors options for the lunch program and music today was not the best as I could hear the frustration and said so of person I was directed to as I could not maneuver the front page. Welcome it says. I ended my call feeling frustrated with no help to get to the right page. Thank you with really no help at all.

Fantastic experience: The facilities for children are excellent. The colleagues' attitude and relationships are also very good, and they are very kind to both kids and children. The team leader is very kind and capable. I am happy to be working in this place.

Negative experience: It looks like a nice place but there is zero sense of community . I have been in the area for 5 years and purposely avoid the area as it is usually filled with miserable grumpy elderly people. If you are lucky you will find some genuinely kind humans but this is not a very friendly location what so ever

Negative experience: staff were very rude. they couldve asked us kindly to leave but he full on yelled. this is the worst community centre ive been to.

Negative experience: We did not like a few of swimming instructors at Kerrisdale. They were surprised that my daughter passed the Swimmer 3 and came to Kerrisdale for Swimmer 4 lesson. We were told that my daughter should go back to Swimmer 3 again. The instructor at Kerrisdale did not teach my daughter anything during the lesson. I haven't seen the instructor going into the water during whole entire swimming lesson. It was 45 min lesson. The instructor was just telling the students to do whip kick, front crawl or back crawl without showing them how to do it properly. My daughter told me later that she couldn't even hear what the instructor was saying at times. We went to Richmond and Britannia instead and they were very dedicated instructors. My daughter was able to pass Swimmer 4 after one lesson from each centre. I saw the instructors at both Community centres went into the water whole time during swimming lesson and were teaching each student how to swim properly. Please don't work as an instructor if you don't like to teach.

Fantastic experience: Quiet, the library has many varieties of books to spend time with. There's a garden beside, should be a good hangout in summer. Will visit more often. Thanks

Positive experience: I am very disappointed with the current state of the weight room. There are half a dozen machines out of order. Unless the main focus of your exercise is free-weights you will have a tough time getting a good workout. It is not unusual for large groups of high school students to come into the weight room and treat the space like a zoo. The staff would do well to crack down on their complete lack of consideration for other patrons.

Positive experience: A good place to swim, nice water and pleasant lifeguards, even if the condensation dripping off the roof send shivers down your spine haha. Cute little library. Red haired lad at the desk was nice and knowledgeable. Even recommended I get a cinnamon roll from the café in the seniors side of the centre, They are delicious!

Negative experience: Since we live in the neighborhood, and we could not find the information about their open gym and other services on their website, we decided to pay this centre a visit hoping to get their schedule. Unfortunately, the young guy at the reception was just so impatient and rude, he basically told us to just go home and check their website for the information because he was too busy dealing with everyone there. We had patiently waited in the queue just like everyone else, and we never raised our voice or anything when it was our turn to ask, but his attitude after we tried to ask questions was just so frustrating. For the whole short conversation, he kept trying to hide his head behind his monitor while trying to get us to leave him alone. It was the worst experience ever that I just told my wife to go, because I did not feel like we were wanted there. Seriously, if it happened in any other country, I would even suspect that it’s a racial thing, and that’s just how bad it felt like. Anyway, the rating I’m giving here is not on the centre as a whole, it was simply for the customer service experience at the reception, as we just could not go any further after that initial experience.

Positive experience: Close to home. Facility is pretty dated but kept fairly clean. Lots of parking. People are quite gentle and nice.

Negative experience: A small facility full of obnoxious high school kids who treat the equipment poorly and have zero respect. If you want a decent workout and actually want to use some equipment instead of waiting for kids sitting on their phones watching TikTok’s on the pec fly all day, then find a different gym.

Fantastic experience: They have a decent gym. Not as big or well equipped as the other big gyms but they have all you need. At busy times, wait times for equipment are usually not too long.

Negative experience: Calling to ask about arability of a room, the staff said its full, I didn't even mentioned the time. What's worse is he hang up on me even though I was still talking. WHEN I WAS JUST ABOUT TO ASK ABOUT THE OTHER TYPE OF ROOM...WHAT THE HECK MAN?? IT'S A MALE RECEPTIONIST, WHOEVER THAT IS. HE DOES NOT LOVE HIS JOB AND HAS NO RESPECT TO WHOEVER CALLING INTO.

Positive experience: If you have a One Card it can be an alright place for a workout. It's pretty loud though and the machines feel a little awkward.

Negative experience: Don't go here. The woman's changing rooms, shower & bathroom area are open to ANYONE who identifies as a woman. Cannot shower in peace without looking over my shoulder & wondering what kind of man may " identify as a woman" in the pretext of going in there. Not a safe space for women and children, felt completely uncomfortable and reception area is far away if something were to happen.

Fantastic experience: Alive and friendly , staff is helpful and the Center provides a warm and safe environment for young and older people to exercise , learn , create as well as play. I also want to thank Barry for his thoughtful and patient coaching in the exercice room .

Fantastic experience: Go online to their site and search for programs to join.I have an elderly mom and this place is a great community center to have her join exercise classes throughout the week for seniors. My mom us 79 years old and they have classes for senoirs that helps them stay mobile and healthy. Light weights, yoga, and stretching. Classes are very affordable.

Positive experience: The community centre and building are old, but it is well maintained and still offers many services. This isn't just "like" the community centres many of us grew up visiting; it IS the community centre many of us visited. The library, pool, and gym can't compare to the size and updates of the newer centres, but they are still maintained well. And plenty of free parking is available in the lot and on the street. This centre still holds a charm and creates a sense of community that newer, larger facilities such as Hillcrest Community Centre don't. Set your expectations accordingly and you won't be disappointed.

Positive experience: We love coming here and taking advantage of the small playroom they offer for little ones. It is free and always open. They have some wall games and a decent padded space for the little ones to roll around. The community centre is also well-equipped with a gym, a swimming pool, a library, and a senior's centre, with a decent amount of parking space in the parking lot and street parking.

Fantastic experience: I love the Community Centre. They have lots of activities and a library attached. The gym sometimes fills up and you can't get a spot though, especially on the treadmills as they have limited numbers. The people are nice.

Price was very reasonable, quantity was amazing and most importantly the food was just amazing. I glad to find this place and definitely recommend this restaurant to people in the are.

Fantastic experience: Lots of services provided in this community centre. Covid vaccines are provided here. And they schedule people for vaccines but people can also drop in. The surrounding area is nice to sit out on the grass and relax. There are benches as well to sit and relax. The community centre is near the main avenue where you can get coffee or have a meal in a choice of restaurants. The community centre offers many services and it is in a good location. Go visit. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: I went to Kerrisdale Community Centre to cool off but for Covid-related reasons, they had the front door of the reception area propped open, not really letting the AC do its job. :-( But the youthful staff who took care of me were attentive & positive. Saved me a long, drawn- out trip to Emergency. :-)
