Fitness 2000 Athletic Club

Positive experience: Got a 1 week trial pass here and didn’t even get to use it due to the lack of parking available. I came 3 different days and spent 15 mins driving around looking for a spot to park and couldn’t find anything. I would’ve had to park down the street and walk a few mins which I didn’t feel comfortable doing alone at night. The staff was super friendly when I came in to sign up for the trial and the gym was spacious. I would’ve joined if it weren’t for the parking, but ended up joining a different gym where I don’t have that problem.

Fantastic experience: They have lots of equipments and really good trainers. I am training with Michael E. He is a trainer and professional kick boxer. He took care of my training after I got injured of a soccer match and torn both my ACL and meniscus. Trying to gain more strength on my legs, glutes, quad etc. He is very patient and careful on my training. F2K has three gym - small, big and for stretching. Different types of equipments for upper and lower body, walking/running, weight lifting etc. Well stuffed and all stuffs are really very friendly and co-operative. They have a swimming pool where my daughter used to train with ISwim. Have sauna which members or dropin people can use. It’s my usual go to gym.

Fantastic experience: Fitness 2000 is a solid place to get a great workout almost everyday. The equipment is well kept, repairs are made quickly, there's a variety of things to do, and the staff people are really nice. The only downside, though not a dealbreaker, would be the early closing times during the weekends.

Fantastic experience: I have been training and weightlifting since 2007 and this is the friendliest gym I've been at. It's got the equipments I need hands down. I always look forward to training at f2k.

Fantastic experience: Been to many gyms before, but nothing compares to fitness2000. It has big variety of equipments and amenities, such as functional area, sauna, hot tub and etc. Even when it gets busy, I don’t recall any time when I had to wait long time to use an equipment. Super friendly staff, they always make sure to greet you and help out with any issues! Will always recommend to friends and anyone who is looking for a great gym:).

Fantastic experience: I started going to this gym with the 1 week pass (great deal btw) and fell in love with it. The staff are very friendly and run it well, nothing is ever broken for more than a few days. It has all the equipment you could possibly need for a workout plus all of the amenities. I wanted a gym with a pool, hot tub and a sauna and F2K has it all. You won’t find a better deal in the area!

Fantastic experience: I've been a member since 2010. Great facility with clean working equipment. Chris is always upgrading and maintaining the equipment and the space. Mostly respectful clients creating a safe and easy environment to work out. Lots of free weights and machines for heavy lifters and beginners to maximize gains. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly and can often be found in the gym working out before or after their shifts.

Fantastic experience: I joined Fitness 2000 (F2K) to escape my couch. This place is amazing! **Facilities** The pool is clean and perfect for pretending you're an Olympic swimmer. The hot tub? Pure bliss—like a bubbly paradise. And the sauna is great for sweating out regrets and overhearing hilarious conversations. **Staff** The staff are awesome. They greet you with genuine smiles and are always ready to help, like personal cheerleaders with protein shakes. **Overall Experience** F2K rocks. Top-notch facilities, super friendly staff, and a hot tub that’s worth the membership alone. If you're escaping your couch, F2K is the place to be! --- Enjoy the hot tub and your workouts!

Fantastic experience: Great gym - has all the equipment/amenities I could ever need and more at a reasonable price that beats out the commercial gyms in the area. On top of that they also have various classes, trainers, and rehab clinic in house if you want to utilize those additional services. I’ve seen everyone from beginners to body builders use this gym, so definitely something for everyone and totally getting bang for your buck! Staff is also awesome and always very kind and welcoming. A few downsides that were not dealbreakers for me: limited weekend and late night hours and gets a bit hot inside in the summer - ventilation could be better but is manageable with their doors/fans. Overall I’ve enjoyed my experience at F2K and would recommend trying out their week pass to see if it’s the right fit for you!

Fantastic experience: Great attentive staff, everything is clean, and the gym is very well equipped. Clientele are very friendly and humble, people chat and help each-other out with workouts. If you wanna do your own thing and get a low key workout in, the venue is big enough to, at the very very least, find a nook for yourself. Whether you wanna do cardio, hardcore lifting, mild workout, hit the bag, sauna, pool list goes on and on… The men and women who help run this place are clearly on top of things. Kudos.

Fantastic experience: The gym is fantastic. It has three rooms with plenty of cardio and lifting equipment and a pool, sauna, and bathtub included in the reasonable membership. It's always clean and organized. The only downside is that the price for a visit is a little expensive.

Fantastic experience: Started three weeks ago with the 7-Day Trial, at first I wasn't sure if I would continue going their. The machines are outdated, showers are okay, and the location is out of place in a deadmall. But after my 7-day trial I ended up signing up for a year. The machines are well maintened and clean, showers are comparable to the community center I was going to, and the dungeon-esque vibes of the place is awesome. But the best part? The people. I have been going to the community one for a year now, and F2K has been more welcoming in the first few weeks. They're very positive towards new people going to the gym. Now know I'm rating it 5 stars mixing in the vibe, people, machines, and the price. Honestly it ended up being one of the cheaper places I could find, and the place has personality to it because of the location and the people who go to it.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been working out regularly at Fitness 2000 for well over a year now. It’s an awesome gym with great, hard working staff. The equipment is a bit dated but work fine. When equipment are out of order they are very quickly repaired or even replaced with brand new stuff.

Fantastic experience: I tried the 7 day pass and really liked the gym so now I go almost everyday. Everyone who works out here takes their fitness journey seriously which is very motivating to be around. The staff are all really friendly and super helpful making the space and the old school style of the gym a very welcoming environment. I’ve been to too many gyms in my life and I avoid going at busy times but at this gym you can go whenever and there is always space because there are different spacious areas to workout. My favorite area is the functional training room but if that’s busy then you can find space in either the small gym or the big gym. I love going to the sauna, steam room, or hot tub after my workout, it’s always very relaxing. Overall phenomenal gym for any fitness level, a good bang for your buck, and would highly recommend trying it out.

Fantastic experience: This gym is amazing! It has everything you need. There’s a smaller area with lighter weights for beginners and a large area with many squat racks, a deadlift platform and much more. They get new machines all the time, there’s a fitness challenge every month and the staff are awesome.

Fantastic experience: This is a great old school style gym that is completely superior in every way to the typical fitness chains. In addition to being literally beyond full service with 2 separate weights room, pool, sauna, functional fitness room, martial area with bags, the staff are phenomenal! It’s a must visit if you’re looking around and the members are very respectful too.

Every time I go to another gym with friends or for work travel, it makes me appreciate F2K that much more. Fantastic experience: I’ve been to a ton of different gyms around the lower main land, and all of them in the Burtquitlam are. Hands down this is my favourite gym in Vancouver. The equipment is older but that’s what makes it great. They have everything one could need. The space is massive and the amenities, well they have all of them. Most importantly it’s a safe space. I feel welcome and at home. The staff are the cherry on top. Not only are they alway cleaning but they are always socializing with all the patrons. Best gym staff on the planet hands down.

Fantastic experience: For the price of the membership and everything included, this gym is a great deal. They have excellent staff for yoga thats included in your membership. There is a lot of space and a variety of machines and equipment to suit your preferences. The gym is situated in a unique building and can be awkward to navigate at first. But no worries the staff at the front desk and other members are super friendly and always willing to help and chat. I recommend anyone looking for a new gym to check this place out !

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training here since 2014 and it honestly feels like a second home. The owner, Chris is super friendly and has really worked hard to create a gym to fit any fitness style and level. The staff are amazing too. Whether you are new to training or a seasoned lifter, F2K is the gym for you. I love the old school vibes (with regular up keep to make sure things are working well) combined with new equipment. You honestly can’t find a better gym in Burnaby!! Oh and did I mention that there is a pool, hot tub, sauna AND steam room!?

Negative experience: Not only does this gym stink like mold but it also has every piece of equipment so close together that you often bump into the person beside you. Additionally I was on a month to month with this gym and after I notified them I was canceling over 1 month in advance they still tried to take out another month's dues. I put a stop payment on them and they sent me to an un recognized collections company. They have also done this to 3 other people I know of. DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM IF YOU HAVE ANOTHER CHOICE.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about my experience at this gym! It offers various of amenities like free yoga classes on some days, a smaller and bigger gym, and a swimming pool, but it also has a sauna and hot tub that truly worth the experience. I love swimming so I was thrilled to find a gym with a pool that is not only close to me but also incredibly affordable. It's $45 a month but I was able to grab their promo last year which was $35 for students. Staff are really nice and approachable as well! While I do wish that the swimming pool had more availability, especially on weekends, I've found that where there's a will, there's a way. I've managed to work around the schedule to fit my own. If you're on the lookout for a gym that offers a comprehensive fitness experience at a great value, try this gym out. I highly recommend checking out this gym - you can buy a day pass and check the gym out why not. I wish I knew abt this gym long time ago tbh

Fantastic experience: Been going to f2k for several years now and by far the best gym in the lower mainland. Chris and the team are very friendly and welcoming. There’s always something fun cooking like fitness challenges, community work like collecting dry goods for food drives, etc., and they are constantly making sure equipments are clean and wiped down (unlike other commercial gyms). Fantastic experience: Facility is excellent. Plenty of room and equipment. Staff is the real highlight of this gym. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable and they remember your name every time. Prices can’t be beat.

Negative experience: Pool really needs a clean up, looks nothing like the photos online. It's quite dark, walls need to be power washed, ventilation and cleanliness is not nearly as good as public rec centers.

Fantastic experience: To be honest I am hesitant to leave this review becuase I don’t want everyone to know how amazing this gym is haha. They have a pool, hot tub, sauna, steamrooms, punching bags, real iron weights, and a room with turf that has a sled. They also have a tanning room ( that I never use but it looks nice). They are always upgrading the equipment. The staff is really chill and friendly. They have really good hours and it’s a nice low key gym. The price is also unbeatable. Best gym in the lower mainland

Fantastic experience: We attend fitness 2000 for pedalhead swim lessons. The pool is well heated and is the perfect length (about 20 meters) for beginner learners. The swim to teacher ratio is 4:1 max and the teachers are very hands on. They also get through a lot of practice as the lesson is 55 min long. I’m thoroughly impressed and it’s well worth the money

Fantastic experience: *** Love the gym but be aware of the predatory parking cartel *** This is an old school jem of a gym. It's got a lot of room, 3 squat racks, a deadlift platform, nowhere really to do clean and press because of the wood floor but the rest of the facility is good for the big main 3 lifts. Decent sauna, hot tub and a steam room, if they had a cold plunge and a spot to dump clean and presses, this gym would have it all. The turf is also a huge plus, sled run gets a little busy at times but over all, this gym is one of the best in the area. I'd go out of my way to lift here for sure, also the community (patrons) are quite pleasant. Check it out if you haven't already! Google asked me to update this review and the only update I have is that the community just seems to be getting better and better. There are young up-and-coming bodybuilders and a lot of good older experienced lifters and everything in between. If you haven't tried Fitness 2000 yet you don't know what you're missing. It's got that old school bangin' and clangin' vibe. Also one thing I really love about this gym is that you can do quarterly memberships, it's great to just pay once every 3 and re-up whenever the 90 days is up. About 140 bucks if I remember correctly. *Updated review* - This gym is still the best in the area, if I had maybe one gripe it would be the lack of a concrete floor for dropping cleans from over head, aside from that it's got everything you'd want. I just updated this for the giveaway contest and to post one of the member's awesome physiques. Guy is freaking stacked

I've never even come close to being as impressed as I am with how well the staff take care of this gym and it's members. Always cleaning, always cruising the floor and interacting with the regulars. I'm proud to be a member of this place. 5 starts isn't high enough.
