Positive experience: Sauna is nice and hot, facilities are rather dirty though and it is difficult to get an opportunity to use the shower.

Fantastic experience: Had a private birthday party it was amazing!

Negative experience: no parking 7am to 4pm dont go here even the streets are full of cars weekdays or weekends is like a zoo. dont bother going.

Fantastic experience: On the page it says that from 10 am a lane is available for the public and they do not allow an adult to swim accompanied by a 7-year-old girl who has been swimming since she was 2 years old. It was only exercise swimming for 1 hour or less. They have very basic prejudices about exercise and children. Comment from 7 days later: We returned during public hours and the entire crew was excellent with us. Even the lady at the reception from the last time. We are very grateful for their attention to me and my daughter, who I believe with occasions like today, will always have this pool and moments saved forever in her perfectly happy side of her childhood and personal development.

Negative experience: woman on the phone is extremely rude and short...disgusting customer service, think she needs to find a new job.. gross

Positive experience: It's a calm environment with a nice pool, Jacuzzi, and sauna. The gym is small but equipped with the essentials.

Negative experience: My 9 year old son was in tears. Fathers cannot teach their sons how to swim at this pool without the lifeguard staff feeling the need to oh so desperately explain the city of Vancouvers policy of not allowing swimming lessons to be taught in a public pool in a Karen-esque passive aggressive manner. 'I desperately feel the need to explain our policy to you which is why other lifeguards may have a problem with you but not me' is truly without any strength of character. The Supervisor and their ability to train their staff to determine the obvious before their staff embark on harassing families is essentially to blame. If you've met the lad that I did, you'll know exactly what I mean.

Fantastic experience: I love Lord Byng for the sauna and cold shower + work out pool. The gym is really small at this location but the awesome people & cool lifeguards make up for it by far.

Positive experience: Not intended for recreational play. Mostly lessons and adults doing their laps.

Positive experience: My go to swim place. I’m not a fan of anywhere else. Megan and Brandon are excellent Aquafit instructors on Monday and Wednesday nights.

Positive experience: This place use to be great, in the last year I’ve noticed the front desk staff have become extremely rude and they now they’re allowing large groups of kids in the hot tub with the swimming instructors good luck relaxing, only reason it scores of three is because it’s super clean and the Lifeguards seem nice

Fantastic experience: Great little gym with everything you need. Hot + Clean sauna with a hot/cold shower right beside it. Not crowded at all, will have to try the pool one of these visits.

Positive experience: Parking is a nightmare, and the water is COLD. My kid is often shivering by the end of a 25 minute swim lesson. The hot tub / "warm pool" is a necessity after a swim.

Positive experience: Brilliant little local facility. Pleasant staff, great classes and very family friendly environment. The only downfall is the only bench in the gym is quite dangerous to use with a large gap in the middle of it. Definitely would suggest ditching this bench for a safer model.

Fantastic experience: I recently signed up my son for baby swim. Our instructor Stephan W. was amazing! By far the best instructor from all the other pools in the city! Hoping to have him again for our next lessons. The pool was also great and not over crowded. Highly recommend!

The staff are helpful and it's a kid-friendly environment, with wheelchair accessibility. Public transportation stops nearby and you can use your one card/leisure access card.

Negative experience: Very cold swimming environment, my kid get sick after her first experience. Will not go again.

Positive experience: The swimming pool is very cozy .The staff are so polite .But the receptionist woman is very rude .She is very racist.

Negative experience: Had a very poor experience here. The staff member at the reception was super rude for no reason, and I observed her serving the couple in front of us in the same manner. If you want to swim laps, don’t bother coming here. Three lanes open with people doing breastroke in the fast lane. No cubicle showers so there is no privacy if you want to shower after using the small gym. Won’t be back if I can help it.

Negative experience: This place is definitely showing its age. It’s dirty, old, cramped and lacking modern amenities. For the well-to-do part of town you would expect they would be planning a future replacement for such an aging facility.

Fantastic experience: Love this little pool been coming to it since the 90s as a kid. Its got tiny water slide and diving broad and rope swing. It has a tiny gym and sauna and hot tub. And washrooms & change rooms ,lockers ,showers. Vending machines, parking, places to chill , its located next to a kids play park . It has public transportation the #33 & #25 busses stop here . Staff are great .its kid friendly, wheelchair accessible . Its a very chilled environment unlike the hectic Hillcrest type . You can use your one card /leisure access card here Besides credit cards or cash .

Positive experience: Good place, not many options though. Still happy that my child got into swimming lessons there. If you’re going to watch your child swimming there, don’t forget to take along some inside sleepers.

Fantastic experience: Lord Byng has an excellent learn to swim program with Fun swim instructors and great upbeat energy. My kids went to school next door so it is great access for swim lessons after school and my husband loves to swim lengths in calm, uncrowded lanes with personable lifeguards to chat with. Yes the facility is older but UBC at $8 hour for parking and Hillcrest's overcrowded lanes make Lord Byng Pool a wonderful oasis. I find this pool cleaner than Kerrisdale pool as well. Kitsilano pool is the BEST pool in the summer but Byng the rest of the year is a great neighbourhood pool.

Negative experience: I have been going to this pool for decades. It is currently old and has so many maintenance problems, not to mention the high operating cost and the high levels of Chlorine in the water. The staff are the same two guys form the last 25 years. I am sure both are in their 50s so there is no incentive to do any new thing. I believe it is time to shut down this pool and build a new bigger and exciting facility. The community urgently needs it. ****** Today at May 30th, 2022, Lord Byng Pool is shut down again for air Ventilation issues (no air ventilations at all). This has been the case for the last 8 days and that is why all the doors of the pool were wide opened, however the life guard decided to shut down down today at 2:30 pm right after I got in the water. again do not waste your time and money, please go to any other swimming facility. Lord Byng pool is not worth it. For the Vancouver Park Board, I believe that time has come to to shut down that pool permanently.

Fantastic experience: Lord Byng Pool is a great pool to get lessons at for your kids. The water is cold by my standards but you definitely get use to the temperature after awhile. Though it can sometimes be busy there are times where that is not an issue at all.

Fantastic experience: The friendly staff at Lord Byng are always helpful. In a city as big as Vancouver, this little pool and fitness centre makes you feel like you're in a small town.

Positive experience: Pas mal. Mais on trouve que les couloirs de natation sont décevant. Autrement dit, la couloir rapide est censé être réservé aux nageurs expérimenté, au contraire y des amateurs se sont répandus partout, ce qui est vraiment désagréable.

Fantastic experience: My favorite pool to go to with my daughter! I love this place because it's small and simple and always relaxing. I park my car and take about 20 steps and then I'm in the pool. When we're in the pool we can actually enjoy swimming because there's never tons of screaming kids. The staff are all incredibly warm and friendly and always there when you need them.
