Negative experience: My 2 year old wasn’t allowed in because they wanted him in a car seat buckled up. THE MOST STUPID condition required at a recreation facility. This also made it difficult for my 5 year old to participate. But they did say a 14 year old child can “watch” my 5 year old. - a child watching a younger child at a recreation centre makes no sense especially when the parent is present. And who would be carrying a car seat for a 2 year old around Canmore when the majority of visitors would be putting their child in a stroller, which is also not allowed in the facility. -

Fantastic experience: Learn to be a Canadian Hockey Player! A very memorable experience at The Canmore Recreation Centre! We had the rare opportunity to suit up like a professional hockey player. The experience starts off with an emotional video showing the extreme love Canadians have for hockey. We were then taken into the locker rooms to get the gear on. It was hysterical to watch everyone lace up their skates to head out onto the ice. The coaches were great sports, you can tell this is their life passion. The facility is very clean and well kept. They have two ice rinks and lots of seating for spectators. The management really takes pride in this facility. I highly recommend this experience. They even give you a certificate of achievement at the end! It's a really fun and unique way to spend the day!!

Fantastic experience: My daughter attended the Big Fun Camp here for 5 weeks. And loved every day (except one, we’ll get to that later). Absolutely the best staff and the most interesting itinerary I’ve ever seen for a full day camp: in one week she golfed, swam, rock climbed, took a field trip to a 3 parks and 1 planetarium, and walked over 10k-15k steps a day. It’s incredible. Absolute highest recommendation! *the one day I’d recommend skipping is the field trip to the Lake Minnewanka scary haunted boat tour. Was NOT appropriate for a 7 year old, and multiple parents complained. Otherwise, every, single, field trip is awesome!

Positive experience: Lots going on here - skating, gymnastics, meeting. The walking track was unavailable due to a gymnastics event, but often offers a convenient way to get exercise on an icy day

Negative experience: Public skating is a zoo. Rink doors open, simultaneous opposite direction skating. Tiny boys (great skaters) zipping around adults’ legs playing tag. Tots abandoned their plastic skating braces all over the rink, and they throw them, spinning down the ice. parents are oblivious. Figure skating practice with blades off the ice during jumps plus blades facing in the direction of travel. Typical Canmore shmozzle - rules but zero enforcement.

Fantastic experience: Was there for my son's hockey tournement. Good rink with ample seating. The heat was cranked in the spectator area...maybe a bit to hot.

Positive experience: Nice and clean almost all the time. They make sure to clean all the time. They have been renovating for almost 2 years now but are close to finishing. Much better after the renovations and the rinks are great.

Fantastic experience: Was an awesome experience, learning about Canada's National Game - Ice Hockey. Our Coach was a wealth of information and we got to try out the outfits and on the Ice. Geriatric National Team here we come

Fantastic experience: This place was awesome, we spent all weekend here for a hockey tournament. While it's under construction, they were super accommodating. They even rented out their gym for parties in place of the normal room - we thought at first it might not work but it actually worked better as tons of space for a pizza party, and even an entire area for 30+ kids to run around. Can't wait to see it after the renovations.

Negative experience: Bathrooms were out of toilet paper and paper towels.

Positive experience: Made the trek into Canmore today to watch the Eagles. Usually wait for them to come to Calgary area. The arena attracts a decent local crowd. Approx 500 people there today. Good atmosphere. The hockey is great! Go Eagles!! Go #17 Finn Withy!! The food is limited.... no fries?! Avoid the pretzels they are dry and stale. The arena is really showing its age. Looks like they have a bit of construction happening now so be interesting to see if this expands into a Reno. Check your seat before you sit. There might be an old seat spring poking through the fabric.

Fantastic experience: The ladies at the front desk were great as i was looking for a place to have skates sharpened. They were more than helpful.

Positive experience: Nice arena, seating is great, the mountains are always great to visit. The lady that hit my truck with her car door was a cow, even though I always park away from everyone.

Positive experience: first class facility for a small but vibrant community.Here for hockey and enjoying the local history on the walls. Locker rooms abound, but can be confusing when the Timbits are searching for a place to have the laces tightened. The Bear Bell Grill seems to be doing well tonight.

Positive experience: I found it quite clean and well decorated as there was a lot of memorabilia and motivational posters along with awesome dressing room colors and themes! Their ice was great as well. Very impressed!
