Negative experience: an old place, the whole establishment gets rained on, the place is in very bad condition, terrible, They also treat their employees badly. On another note, don't let your children go to this place, because the treatment towards them is 0% bad, they don't take care of them, the teachers are always on the phone, they don't look after them, the facilities for babies are dangerous since they have toys or things that are not suitable for a baby under 4 years old, the club fee is not worth it since they are charging you not only for one thing but for everything, and it is something that you don't use, think very carefully before paying for a membership.

Fantastic experience: I am writing to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to the organizing team of the most recent Ontario Provincial Racquetball Championship in Burlington, Ontario. Being relatively new to the sport, this was the first time attending and participating in this tournament and I am excited in planning to return from Windsor, Ontario next year . There were so many people that made my experience unforgettable however I would like to personally thank a few. Kyle Wiseman, Matthew Forstner, and Tammy Gray along with their team, couldn’t have been better hosts and are truly genuine ambassadors to the game. The tournament was so smoothly run and the atmosphere of competition was extremely evident. However most importantly, everywhere you looked to you could witness a sense of community, more specifically family through the interactions of all that were present. Regardless of the results, everyone was also very encouraging and supportive of all the players. It was also so refreshing to the see the numbers of individuals playing from such a wide range of ages. This is a testament to the commitment of Racquetball Ontario’s board in doing their best to promote the sport. I would also like to commend the Cedar Springs Health, Racquet, and Sportclub for being selected as the host site. The facility itself is something that can not be explained unless you physically are within it. The friendliness of the whole staff, the cleanliness of the courts and the accessibility to the services it has to offer was first-class. I specifically want to thank both Chris and Julia from the restaurant for their prompt and friendly service. They both were very inviting and always had a smile on their faces. Congratulations again to all those involved in such a wonderful event. I am confident in saying the sport is that much better because of their efforts in this tournament and in all that they do throughout the year.

Fantastic experience: I will start by saying Im not a member however send my child to the camp here. This is the best run kid camp we have ever attended (been to about 8 different ones). Smooth drop off, smooth pick up, attentive well mannered counsellors, admin staff for booking ar great, amazing lunch included, swimming, tennis, ect ect. Son always looks forward to this and cant wait to go back. Cant say enough good things.

Negative experience: I tried to get a membership only to play tennis. They informed me that I have to get the full membership which is over$250/month even though I have no use for anything else and the courts are not even guaranteed!! The management is rude and arrogant. No thank you I don't need this in my life

Negative experience: Went back and forth for almost a month trying to book the outdoor pool for my daughter bday. Dates were confirmed, menus and party packages sent etc. apparently a new employee took over as event coordinator and now all the sudden the outdoor pool is no longer available for private rentals. This was then confirmed with the general manager as well. I don’t understand. U either rent it or you don’t- it cannot be a sometimes thing. Thanks for wasting a month of my time while I now scramble to try to make other arrangements. Awful!

Negative experience: They should seriously consider changing the name to "Cedar Springs Daycare and Kids Camp". They increased the fees for us members, but just informed us that the club will ONCE AGAIN be closed for the summer to accommodate the summer camps. We can use the facility from 5am-7am, or after 4:30pm when the kids leave. We are barred from using the fitness facilities, gym, indoor pool, outdoor pool, etc. during daytime hours all summer. No other gym in the world boots out its' members to turn the property into a giant daycare. "We're moving towards a more family-centric facility". That's awesome, we're all on board with that..but the new owners should be reminded that they bought a FITNESS FACILITY, not a daycare. Embarrassing that for two months every year they treat their members as an afterthought. Funny though, it's us members that seem to foot the bill for "club improvements". Seriously consider getting a membership ANYWHERE else. *For those reading review, read the other google reviews...any time there's a negative review the owner's response is "we don't have this member in our database" to try and discount their points. Sure, all of these mysterious people are colluding against the club or maybe, just maybe, they're telling the truth.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member here for 30 years and I’ve watched it turn from an amazing facility into a glorified day care centre under new management. Three floors of workout equipment are now piled onto the top floor. Still the same equipment I was working out on a decade ago. All open floor space is for kid’s camp. During the summer you can’t use the basketball gym or pool areas from 8am-4pm because of children’s camps. The hot tub is out of order 3/4 of the month. And here’s the kicker—they just sent an email saying their fees are increasing. What exactly are we paying an increase for? Less workout space and limited access to the actual facilities? Great gym if you like 200 kids running around and screaming. Do yourself a favour and find another gym.

Fantastic experience: A great place to swim or work out. I don't have time for racket sports or socializing so a locker and swim schedule are good for me, shower, sauna, steam room and hot tub are great amenities all in one place. Rob does a great job keeping the place in good repair and clean. Kayla has some great classes and programs I don't often have time for but are included in my fitness membership. Have had a family and now single membership with no complains.

Negative experience: No moral compass. Been a member here for over 5 years. We had a guaranteed rate of $150/month. Rate WAS and verbal guarantee but the club knows this and respected it until now. Club decided to raise rates. They offered us a teacher rate of $269/month +tax. Regular rate for family is $359. Take it or leave it. I’d leave it. Main hot tub is normally dirty. They wash the side of the pool into the pool. Swim instructor had a full on swearing temper tantrum at his students while I had my 5 year old there for a fun swim. Was told in for the summer months that due to the success of their summer programs I couldn’t use the facilities until after the kids had left. When I joined was told my rate would never increase. Hahaha ya right. Massive rate hike. Breach of contract?

Positive experience: I am 12 and go to this camp and it is pretty decent but some of the councillors are mean. But the courts and swimming pool are good and the food is fine but I would say cedar springs isn’t the best camp but it is still fine

Fantastic experience: Cedar Springs summer camp is amazing: well organized, the kids love it and it's a reasonable price considering all that's included. Racquet ball, tennis, swimming and meals and snacks! The counselors are friendly and so good at their jobs. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I've been a member for a number of years and am happy with the staff and facility. The new owners have invested heavily in improving the facility. Unfortunately, under the previous owner, the place had been sadly neglected with little investment in updating or maintainence. I used to be a member of ORC but wanted a more convenient place nearer home but did not become a member until the new owners arrived!

Negative experience: I have been to this club at least 3 times and every time the front desk is awful. Generally miserable staff instead of being helpful.

Negative experience: Impossible to get any information about memberships. Keep getting directed to Kayla whom has not returned my call all week. Cannot tour their facility as everything must go through Kayla. I tried to leave a comment on their Facebook and they deleted it. Will take my business elsewhere, very bad customer service.

Negative experience: So it's a simple story. Our 9yr old son was enrolled here from few weeks. We felt he was doing good and benefiting at first. We decided to enroll our 4yr old here in private lessons. Of course you can imagine the top notch customer service when you are ready to enrol and they are ready to charge your CC.... The teacher handling the 4yr old was not at all what we expected (does not have any experience in teaching that young age it appears). So we complained and requested to pull him out and get refunded for the unused classes. My initial impression was that they will apologize and refund the class we were not satisfied with (which should be our right by the way - they cant charge people when they don't provide qualified teachers for 4yr olds ) but instead they said no refund for all 6 weeks! I guess they chose the long way of having it disputed with American Express and having the charge back and having a bad review and an unhappy customer spreading the word

Negative experience: I was shocked! This club will go out of the way to sell you the higher priced membership that you do not even intend to use. I made it very clear that I want 'Tennis only membership'. I was told it is not available at the moment and would only be available in May 2022. FINE! I asked if I join 'Tennis and Fitness' now, would I be able to change to 'tennis only' in coming May. The response shocked me. It said "This would not be available as we have others for looking Tennis only, but signed up for Tennis and Fitness." I was speechless - I feel bad for these clients. What a FRAUD!! To this day, I cannot explain how can a club run out of tennis only membership. - Gurjot.

Positive experience: Ive been going to this gym for years, and love it! I never have to wait for equipment, and can always find lockers. Combine this with the lack of "gym bros" you couldn't ask for a better gym! The only "issue" which really doesn't matter is the gyms atmosphere, which, in the weight areas, is certainly odd.

Negative experience: Had a very poor experience with the management ‘general manager’. Sad to see how a club at that scale doesn’t understand its people, doesn’t know how to emphathize, and have a decent conversation. Left with a very bad taste!!! So so disappointed with the unprofessionalism!

Fantastic experience: Very large club with a great layout and lots of fun to be had. Wonderful place to stay in shape with indoor pools and a water slide, hot tubs, steam and dry saunas, racquetball, squash, basketball, pickleball and 12 tennis courts. This, of course, doesn't include the outdoor pools, water slides and tennis courts amongst other things. There's a huge gym with all the equipment you need to get a great workout. They also have tennis classes for most age groups and a wonderful area to cool off and relax with hot/cold beverages, food and lots of tv monitors for your viewing pleasure. When it comes right down to it, this is a great place for the whole family to stay fit and have fun. I strongly recommend that you check this place out! It's a rarity to find this much to do all at the same location. ENJOY!

Fantastic experience: I have loved my time here at Cedar Springs. I’ve been using the squash facilities, the workout centre as well as the pools and restaurant. Needless to say this place has it all. My kids have loved their time in the pools and hangout space as well. They have been putting a lot of effort into improving the space and making sure everyone feels welcome and it’s all paying off. Highly recommended for all.

Fantastic experience: My family and I joined up in October. We think Cedar Springs is a great family place.Staff are very friendly and accommodating. We recently added my mother-in-law on to our membership with no problem. There are many things for the children to do and tons of adult classes available.We have no complaints,we are very happy with the way things are progressing with upgrades in the facility. Fantastic experience: We held our Christmas hockey team party (10 year old players) at Cedar Springs last Friday. Both the players and parents really enjoyed themselves. While the children were playing in the gym, swimming and enjoying their feast in the party room, parents were able to sit back and enjoy their own food and beverages in the restaurant. We had a parents vs kids dodgeball tournament (so much fun!), kids played pick up basketball games and they had a blast on the huge water slide. There were plenty of options to keep busy kids engaged. The party room is a great size and is conveniently located directly off of the restaurant. Parents were able to watch their kids play multiple activities from the restaurant. Our party hosts, Mac and Meg were a pleasure to work with and had excellent control of a rowdy group of 20 kids. Booking and selecting party options was painless - Kerry the club’s party organizer was prompt at answering any questions that I had and wanted to ensure that things ran smoothly and were to our liking. We had a great time and recommend booking Cedar Springs for children’s parties!

Positive experience: We have been members, as a family, for almost two years. Lots for the children to do and the continued improvements are obvious. Love the hot yoga classes and spinning is a great workout. The instructors are fabulous, lots of energy and skill, they know what they are doing. My boys love the equipment, swimming or just shooting hoops in the gym, they feel totally at home. There is no sense of intimidation in the equipment area. Everyone is friendly and there to exercise. The squash courts are easily booked. There are some courts with lighting issues, which I'm sure will be fixed soon. There was a change in ownership with the restaurant. We preferred the old menu and pricing, but appreciate some of the staffing changes. We put our membership on hold with no issues and look forward to returning for the winter. Hopefully, the popcorn in the restaurant will be back for the kiddies! A great place for active families or those looking for a new way to become active together.

Negative experience: Trying to arrange a membership with Kaila Slomka was just awful. She was rude, snappy, and aggressive. Leaving my messages unresponded for weeks at a time. I do not want anything to do with this place because of her.

No matter how old you are or your kid is, you will definitely find something interesting to do.. once you are done with all the activities you can chillax at the restaurant/bar where you can enjoy a healthy bowl of salad or a fulfilling xlarge homemade pizza. Highly recommended my only remark, is the place needs some renovation to give it the modern look.. all else is just perfect

The staff, the food, the pool and gym were all well enjoyed by the kids and much appreciated by the parents. I participate in the classes and the community atmosphere and programs are amazing. I look forward to making use of the outdoor pool area when the weather gets warmer!

Fantastic experience: Hi I’m a person with a major disability, have been using the Ymca since it opened in 1968. This year however the YMCA in the winter time, they did a extremely poor job of shovelling their sidewalks. And I fell a couple times, fortunately I didn’t hurt myself, but I knew I had to find another place to swim. So I gave Cedar Springs, a chance and see if they could help me out . They give me a membership for four months to use the pool, now the building is not accessible, but it is manageable to get in . I just want to thank the management and the staff and the members for being so helpful to me because I use a walker . The facilities are clean, everyone is very kind and I really enjoyed myself for the four months It was an extremely pleasurable experience . Thank you

Fantastic experience: Our family were members of Cedar Springs about 10 years ago before moving out of town. After returning to Burlington we rejoined the club and couldn't be more impressed with the transformation that has occured under the new management. We feel very comfortable leaving our young son with the childcare services and have been very happy with the care provided. We would certainly recommend the club to anyone.

Fantastic experience: *EDIT* this issue was resolved as it was due to a little miscommunication, sales rep reached out and was incredibly polite and apologetic! Terrible customer service. I’ve been trying to reach the sales rep for two weeks now. Sales rep is never available and has not returned a single one of my calls. The front desk is also a hit and miss when it comes to answering your calls. All in all Cedar is building a pretty bad customer relation.

Fantastic experience: This is the best club in Burlington for families. My son absolutely loves the kids programs. And this mom gets to get in a long workout guilt-free. I wish the free weights and weight machines were better organized and more up to date, but the gym has everything I need. Not to mention the classes are great. Oh, and the staff are totally amazing. You feel like part of the family. Kaila made both me and my son feel at home the moment we stepped into her office. I highly recommend!!!

Negative experience: Beware when you sign any agreement and make sure you read and understand the terms, as they do not even go through them with you. I had to cancel my membership 2 weeks in, but was told the 'cool down' period of 10 days has passed, which I did not know nor initial beside this policy. I contacted them a few times and they started to bring up it is the law to obey the contract and tried to intimidate me. In the end I gave up and never stepped into that building again. The lady named Carmen was so nice to me when I signed up the membership, but changed her tones once you have signed up, my advise is to stay away if you can.

Negative experience: I've been overcharged $30 extra monthly for 2 years, and when I noticed, I was told they cannot do anything about it retroactively. I'll remove my review if they act in a responsible manner and contact me with a resolution. - Christo Lourantos

Negative experience: My family of 4 - husband and two small children - have been members for a year. I came to Cedar Springs from GoodLife because CS claimed to be very family friendly and daycare was available "all the time". Daycare is not available all the time and saying so while trying to make a sale was outright lying. The area upstairs where the workout area is has a small room for children. It's an absolute mess. Nothing works and wires are hanging out all over the place. This is a relatively inexpensive fix, but nothing has ever been addressed. We're past our 1 year sign up date and can cancel anytime without penalty. If these relatively minor changes are not addressed and actually remediated in the next couple of months, we will be going to another club that has more attention to detail. I don't want to speak to a manager and given assurances that my opinion matters. Action is all I require now.

Positive experience: Large facility with many courts and nice viewing areas for youth tennis tournaments. Nothing fancy but all the basics are here including a restaurant, sports courts and a very large diverse swimming area with an adult pool, kids pool and water slide area.

Fantastic experience: We hosted our hockey party here. The kids loved the food and the venue and the adults loved that it was licensed. Staff were very polite and helpful. Our kids loved their time there so much we have signed them up for summer camp. We found out that it includes swimming, sports and lunch! Can’t beat that. Excellent family atmosphere and amazing facilitiy.

Fantastic experience: I love knowing that I can be in a place that feels good! It's like being on a resort located in a cool nook in Burlington, Ontario, Canada! The outdoor volleyball courts and activities are empowering! The indoor basketball courts and indoor track! Because I'm a professional singer I love going in the private Raquel ball court because the acoustics are amazing! I love knowing that I have the power to succeed in this fantastic and friendly environment! I can bring the kids I watch here and feel comfortable that the guests are actually there to love themselves through the act of fitness and dress appropriately! I'm very excited to go back and experience more!

Fantastic experience: Just had my daughters birthday party here for the 3rd time and this has been the best one yet! Kids had time on the rock wall, basketball courts and swimming in the pool with a huge twisty slide. 2 staff members were with them at all times leading differnt games and there was also a lifeguard on duty and another at the top of the slide. The recent renovations of the party room and chage rooms look very trendy and modern. Chicken fingers and fresh cut fries were a hit with all the kids! We will be back next year for another great b day party!

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been a member of this club for several years. We wanted a club that had a little bit for everyone and without the fear of it going under or sucking our bank account dry. Over the past year there has been some extensive renovations occurring. There is now a skin care centre downstairs called Radiance Laser (I had a tattoo removed!) as well as the spa and RMT's if you work out too hard. If you were in the gym years ago, have a look now! Its fresh and clean and more modern then it was. My son had the opportunity to try LA Fitness on a pass - when I asked how he would compare the two, he said he still preferred this gym over that one. The only thing he liked about the other one was the weights were all rubber (I guess they didn't clink when put back onto the racks or bars) If you have never been here - give it a go - take your kids and enjoy ! The people are fabulous! (an no, I didn't get a discount or any promo's for sending this - in fact, we have to leave as we are moving out of the city in the next few months - I will miss this gym!)

Fantastic experience: This is an awesome family-run facility. Our kids love the indoor pool and slide. They have put a lot of time and effort in upgrading all the facilities and the effort has paid off. I would also highly recommend Cedar Springs for kids camps and great programming.

Fantastic experience: I am new to this club find the staff very friendly and helpful. I met with one of the trainers who has helped set me up on a work out plan specialized to me. Since I have been there all new equipment has been brought in which is great! I play tennis courts are great easy to book online or just call in. My son loves the pool and water slide. All in all great club.

Negative experience: Under the old owners this was a great place to work out and the customer service was great. Over the last couple of years under the new ownership the membership services have been nothing short of awful. I’ve been a member on and off for 7 or so years and finally couldn’t take it anymore and had to attempt to cancel my membership. I was leaving the country for 6 months and attempted to freeze my membership which I never had a problem doing under the old owners. Unfortunately it is quite a big deal to even get a hold of someone in membership services when you are trying to freeze or cancel your membership, while speaking with Carmen I went multiple weeks without getting a response and I wouldn’t have even gotten a response if I didn’t follow up again. Honestly just a terrible experience with this gym and after being a loyal customer for so long I’ll never refer someone to this gym and I’ll never go back myself.

Negative experience: Look at how many 1 star people rated this place would give a sense of how many unsatisfied customers they left behind. When only the profit takes all over in management's minds, most likely the place becomes costly and less quality with some complex policies or processes.

Negative experience: Went to this gym for a long time, just recently cancelled, it was a long time coming. The weight room is a dump, even with the "new renovations". All the equipment is so old, probably early 90's, they've gotten SOME new equipment but it's mediocre at best and is coming in at a snails pace. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. Weight room always trashed, nobody puts their weights away, nor does any staff seem to try and keep it order. When I tried to cancel it took me over 4 weeks to get an answer out of anybody after numerous phone calls, emails, and in-person requests. Literally any other gym is better than this one. If you like racquet sports this place will suit you fine, anything else, forget it.

Positive experience: We've had a total of 7 birthdays for our 2 children over the last 5 years and were absolutely SHOCKED to find they JACKED up the price by basically double without any notice when we booked. Still the same old building with new floors and No extra service is offered and we will no longer have any birthday parties there or recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: We visited to use the pool facilities today. The indoor small pool was closed due to chemical concerns and it was visibly very filthy. The outdoor pool was grey where you could not see your feet. We found that concerning and spoke with the lifeguards. They said they had an issue with the chemical levels indoors but outdoor "they could check if we would like". Sorry it's not up to me to dictate whether a pool that is visibly grey with scum floating around the edges from sunblock and bugs everywhere is worthy of investigating. It was lovely that the pool was open, but not in the condition that the water was visibly in. The change room area was a maze and I walked by the courts and spa unable to find my way out. Better signage is needed.
