Positive experience: Update glad you fixed the broken missing and jagged tiles during the 3 weeks maintenance. You asked for input for starters you could fix the water fountain in the gym that has been essentially inoperable for like 8 months You Used to be pleased but I’ve had enough , I have cut myself open twice in one month in the pool on broken tile with exposed grout neither areas have been fixed the gym is unbelievably under equipped for the amount of people you’re taking membership dues from and now week to week can’t keep up with the new schedules for lessons pretty sure when I signed up for our family membership I was never told their would be multiple days a week with NO public access to the pool. Sure during the mid day is open when everyone is working or at school. So you just want more money for lessons fine just increase my membership . This isn’t a privately owned facility so refusing public especially when they’re paying members isn’t ok with me .

With respect to the pool schedule, we try to balance programs with open drop-in swim times. There are a few select times on the schedule that are primarily for aquatic programs, including lessons. This helps ensure a quality swim experience while meeting community’s needs. Due to some conflicts in pool space, a decision was made to adjust access during peak lesson periods. Negative experience: Doing the sauna 4 to 7 times a week reduces your risk of dying from illness by %40! All I care about is the sauna so I am disregarding everything else this seemingly good facility has to offer. These people running SeaParc must be doing something wrong, this sauna has TWO heating units with rocks in it yet it is still tepid and lukewarm. I went in there and not a single person was sweating. I feel really sorry for the members of this community because they don’t have easy access to a fairly priced and functioning sauna. Please look into putting a temperature gauge in the sauna and reducing air escape from the door or something, because it is not working properly at all.
Hi Garett, As a public aquatic facility, we must operate within provincial regulations and as such, we utilize the ‘Rule of 200’ in the operation of the SEAPARC Dry Sauna. The ‘200’ value is a cumulative value adding the Air Temperature and Relative Humidity of the space in question to get an ‘end’ number. In SEAPARC’s case, the air temperature setpoint, in Fahrenheit, of the sauna (140 F) is added to the average relative humidity of the pool natatorium (60%) of which the sauna is considered a part of under provincial guidelines, to get the value. The humidity in the aquatic environment therefore impacts the temperature that we can operate at. The other key issue we have to keep in mind is the flooring in the sauna, which must meet provincial guidelines for coefficient of friction (COF) within an aquatic facility. Unlike many sauna ‘specific’ businesses or home saunas we are unable to use wood flooring in the sauna as that type of flooring does not meet provincial guidelines for flooring in an aquatic facility. Unfortunately tile flooring holds heat at a higher rate than the cedar wall covering and the cedar benches in the sauna so we must remain cognizant of the temperature of the tile flooring to ensure it does not get too hot. As you have suggested, we will look at installing a temperature gauge. Thank you, SEAPARC staff

Fantastic experience: Amazing complex in Sooke! The gym has everything I need, is very clean, and usually not too busy. Lots of parking and EV charging is a plus! Good range of hours even on the weekend.

Fantastic experience: Best place to take a shower for travelers/vanlife like me on the island for only 3$ and 6$ I think to access to the pool. Water is really warm and you have a perfect pressure and be able to direct the jet where you want (it's a plus that I didn't saw in most of the complexe I've been too).

Fantastic experience: A great establishment filled with hard working employees. A community nessesity for our not so little town. In my 10 years of living in sooke I haven't had a problem with it.
Positive experience: Good to have so much here locally but needs to expand much more. Also with events; parking can be hard when you have classes. There have been many a time where the lot was not prioritized and parking for classes we laid for was near impossible!
