Fantastic experience: The pool is very beatiful

Negative experience: I was in the Dive Pool when a woman dressed in a LONG BLACK FULL robe, from head covering to ankle black tights, entered the dive pool with her husband. Not the cleanest swim wear I must say. And her husband was lingering by the pool ladder staring at women's derriere's as they climbed up the ladder to leave the pool. It was grotesque, disgusting. I quess the Woke City of Calgary allows any outfit in the pools. This would NEVER happen in Quebec where they've strict WESTERN swimming attire rules.

Fantastic experience: The fitness centre here is great - super chill vibes, rarely busy, very non judgemental space. Staff are kind and helpful. Would recommend.

Negative experience: It has been a long time since the family shower water has been cold. When I ask why it is always cold, the answer I get is that they already informed the necessary people. My question is, what should a dad with a small daughter who needs help with showering and changing do?

Positive experience: Love that this is saltwater the stuff was great but it definitely is run down and definitely needs some renovations the hot tub was closed I overheard some ladies saying that tiles were cracked and a couple people cut their feet so I heard that they are closing for the summer for renovations but I do have to say that the class that I went to on Monday at 12:00 for deep water workout was fantastic my favorite out of all the ones that I've been to the instructor I wish I could remember her name was fantastic she brought in exercises I've never done before I actually felt likebut I do have to say that the class that I went to on Monday at 12:00 for deep water workout was fantastic my favorite out of all the ones that I've been to the instructor I wish I could remember her name was fantastic she brought in exercises I've never done before I actually felt like I worked out it was busy a little overcrowded for the class but the people in the class were great as well I absolutely can't wait to continue going again especially after the renovations

Fantastic experience: Great swimming trainers like Casper which have excellent training skills with empathy are the reason I would recommend this place for swimming if you are a beginner.

Positive experience: A very nice aquatic centre with lane pool, dive tank, and whirl pool. No wave pool, kiddie pool, or water slides.

Negative experience: I am using the swimming pool once a week when the schedule allows for over 2hrs lane swim. Last Tuesday a young associate interrupted my swimming asking me to leave the lane so another faster swimmer can use the lane. I moved to the adjustent slower lane only to find that the replacement swimmer was slower than me an barely did any swimming before leaving in less than 10 mins. In watching the activities in that "fast" lane I was removed from, I noticed that most of swimmers were slower than me which even made some relatively faster swimmer to join the lane I was using with no intervention by that associate or the others. I felt realy upset to realize that I was personally targeted and discriminated against using the cover of the rules. I complained to the facility coordinator who danced around the situation mentioning irrelevant cases of some clients behaviors. I felt frustrated and said to myself, if there are few places in this city where some may be treated unequal like second class citizens , definitely this get to be one.

Positive experience: Good experienced Instructors for swiming lessons clean areas although in the changing room people just get naked infront of everybody which is disrespectful and there are kids there too.

Fantastic experience: Nice cozy centre, not so many people, sauna is hotter than others once in the public centers.

Fantastic experience: They have a pool! Sick!

Negative experience: I enrolled my son into preschool level one. The instructor that they assigned for the class was inexperienced and unprofessional. Three of the five lessons my son didn’t make it into the water until 15-17 minutes in of an 30 minute lesson even though the other three kids were guided in. Orlando seemed as though he was thoughtlessly making things up along often just telling the children what to do without showing an example of what he was asking. When any of the children that were enrolled showed fear he immediately went to the next child instead of guiding them through it. We are on lesson four out of five and my son has maybe received two minutes of hands on teaching from Orlando before they brought in another instructor. Although the pool in itself is amazing and the other instructors are amazing I would highly recommend enrolling with any one else aside from Orlando

Fantastic experience: Very friendly personnel and instructors. Very clean change room and pool areas. Great facility and well kept over all these years. Now my grandchildren enjoy taking swimming lessons here!!

Fantastic experience: Great facility with a hot tub shallow and deep pools weight room and fitness class room. All drop in courses I have attended are well instucted and not crowded.

Negative experience: My experience at Canyon Meadows Pool was far from satisfactory, and I would highly recommend considering other sports centers if possible. As the saying goes, 'A few individuals can spoil the whole business....' The pool supervisor and a particular older female lifeguard, exhibit extremely impolite behavior. Their aggressive attitude towards customers has significantly tainted the overall experience.

Negative experience: My son and I went swimming after school around 4pm and it was fine We went today and there was one employee helping a family, we stood for over 15 minutes waiting to pay as a drop in. On the website it doesn't say anywhere that there is no swimming now from 4-6 pm. Another employee came to help the first employee as he was having issues helping the family and asked what we wanted. I said to pay for drop in swimming and she said there's no swimming from 4-6 it's cascade. She did not tell us what cascade is and just ignored me and took the next customer. I also want to mention the ceiling in the family bathroom has never been fixed it is just big gaping holes. It looks very bad!

Fantastic experience: Very great and friendly people are working here.

Negative experience: (Edited review which was previously 3 stars) Second visit was even worse, I shouldn't have returned, but this location is close to my work and I wanted to go for a swim on the way home. Thinking things would be better was a complete understatement on my part. Me and my girlfriend stopped by for another visit, and felt completely disrespected by a mid-aged female staff member. I was being watched every time I looked up by this lady. I was also told to leave the diving tank because it was "self led exercise". I wasn't using any other features of the diving tank, as I respected that they were closed. We were swimming in the dive tank doing a "self led exercise ", swimming laps, like everyone else. I ended up leaving after the lifeguard went to switch with another guy, where I could see them glaring over smiling. We will never be back and I have already called 311 with a complaint. City of Calgary should spend more time reviewing these reviews and evaluating ways to make the experience better for everyone. I'm clearly not the only one who thinks this way. (INITIAL REVIEW) Upon arrival I was really looking forward to it, looking as if it was one of the newer looking facilities calgary had to offer. Unfortunately, I was a little let down by a few things. The staff seemed as if they wanted nothing to do with anyone during public hours, and it seemed quite unsanitary, as I found a few bandages in the pool at the time I was diving. My girlfriend and I have been consistently visiting different aquatic centers around the city for about a month now, swimming mainly. It was super unfortunate that I couldn't enjoy this one.

Positive experience: Nice place to take the kids for swimming lessons. Prices are affordable but it’s so hard to secure a spot . The city of Calgary has to hire more trainers .

Fantastic experience: Perfect neighborhood pool to take the kids when the other city pools a are chaos. It’s a calm and relaxing atmosphere for you and the family

Negative experience: I was not aware but this facility allows men in the women’s change room if a man claims he’s a woman he’s allowed in I’ve reported this over the phone and online and found out there’s been several incidents of men watching children don’t go here if you are a woman or have a child

Fantastic experience: A great place to take the grandkids. Easy access to the pool for people with mobility problems. Too bad the hot tub was closed.

Negative experience: I just want to warn everyone not to leave your children unattended in the showers and change room. On multiple occasions, when taking my son for swim lessons, I have seen the same odd fellow standing in the change room and watching children getting changed and peering into the shower area. As it's not technically a crime to be in there, there is not much that staff can do about it. Please be cautious.

Fantastic experience: Visited for a 3 day course and was really impressed with the building. The room we were in upstairs was spacious, well lit and equipped. Upstairs also contained the small gym that is contained in a glass room, a bathroom, lockers, drinking fountain, and access to the pool viewing area. The main floor has a free little library, vending machines, local guide books, welcoming staff, and a boot rack for shoes. I was surprised to find that the lost and found is easily accessible besides the front desk, this is where I found my shoes that I had misplaced during one of the days I went! The women's change room is clean and easy to maneuver in. Pools are nice, they are designed for lane swimming and swimming lessons, the dive tank has one diving board and a waterslide that the guards operate, hot tub is hot with jets controlled by the push of a button on the wall. A fun fact I learned was that a nudist club had used this pool after we had left one of the evenings! We were told that staff cover the windows for privacy, how interesting!! I would love to take more courses at this facility in the future if only I lived in Calgary.

Fantastic experience: Having a community’s aquatic centre rocks! I’ve been here twice and I super enjoyed the swim pools and the hot tub. Felt thoroughly relaxed and sleepy after an hour. Going home now to continue the sleep in my bed.

Negative experience: This facility is dirty everywhere. The gym and equipment is filthy, thousands of $ for equipment that has probably never been serviced. The gym floor is horrendous, mirrors are worse, dont think EVER been cleaned in years. The pool area is somewhere you DONT want to wear bare feet. Never in the years I have been going have I ever seen a steam machine in the washrooms/change rooms. Bathroom stalls are disgusting. The staff spend alot of time standing around. Management needs to pay attention to reviews!!

Fantastic experience: I was there for my grandsons swimming lessons. It is a nice place with a gym as well as the pool. Nice spectators area but it is warm in there, dress for the heat. My granddaughter who watched with me called it a sauna! No picture taking allowed!!!

Negative experience: Good amenities but today Feb 17 at 12:40pm we were in the hot tub and one man told the other that “he has a fungal ear infection and not supposed to be there” and when my partner was in the change room, another old man was peeing in the shower on the floor. I’ve never been so Disgusted in my life!!!! What’s wrong with people?!?!?!

Negative experience: Staff are pretty rude, small facility but gets the job done. Been here for a while but definitely moving due to the staff

Fantastic experience: Me and my daughter attend this pool regularly. We have never had an issue and the staff is always a pleasure. Like, seriously. Both pools are warmer than I would expect, they also have a sauna and hot tub, all of which is appreciated! My only disappointment is that Wednesday evening is the only evening that they hold a family/public swim session. So other than that, we can only go on Saturday and Sunday. Would love the option of going one or two other evenings per week, but understand they likely just aren't busy enough for that to be worthwhile on their part. :)

Fantastic experience: Nice clean facility, good caring staff.

Positive experience: A great neighborhood pool. It is extremely warm and humid in the viewing gallery area. It felt like a sauna, which on a cool day outside can be quite the welcoming feeling. This place is very clean and organized and the staff are clear about their jobs. The work out gym upstairs is quite decked out with great equipment. In all honesty it does seem that the pool and building could use a bit of a face-lift, but that is me just being picky.

Positive experience: Very busy at 7:30 pm for lane swimming.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, clean facilities. Great swimming pool (6am crowd makes it better). Foam soap available in showers (at least men's). Not too many lockers for our own locks, 85% are the 25cent take a key lockers. That may be an issue if it gets busier
