Negative experience: Please do not go to this gym!! I've had a terrible experience, and they refuse to do anything to fix it. I've called dozens of times over the last year to get it resolved, with no solution. I've never felt more frustrated and scammed in my life. It's not worth the hassle, find another gym and don't bother dealing with them!

Fantastic experience: I go in the evenings and the staff are lovely- love Melissa. When all the management is gone, the staff are cleaning and sanitizing, which means a lot to me. Customers (eeheem male presenting) aren't on point about cleaning their machines after use but we all have our own sanitizers to use so... Small, focused, efficient

Fantastic experience: Would totally recommend this gym, when I 1st walked in I was greated by a friendly young lady and she explained everything and gave me a tour and didn't pressure me at all, place was very clean and all equipment in working order and no rips or tears and everyone there is friendly and you don't feel intimidated, Marissa and her staff are awesome ,highly recommend. Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for a while now and can honestly say the staff here are fantastic. They are so friendly and attentive and make everyone feel welcome. They always make sure the entire facility is clean (including washrooms) and there are always fresh cloths and sanitizers available. To add to this, I have been bringing both my kids here to their kids crunch centre and all the daycare staff have been so great. They always put my mind at ease leaving my little ones and it has given this busy mom of two a chance to work on her own health. I thank all of the staff at crunch Stratford location, awesome job!
Fantastic experience: The childcare option at Crunch is so helpful. The staff is so welcoming and makes me feel very comfortable leaving my son there. It's like he gets to hangout with friends while I get to workout. A great gym

Fantastic experience: Pretty basic, but also fantastic value for money! The cardio section is well equipped, the free weights aren’t bad though could probably do with an extra bench or two. With the space they have it’s a good facility. Staff are always friendly and when I typically go (6-8am) it’s pretty quiet. The few times I’ve been later in the day it gets busy. My main frustration is just how slippery the tiles are in the bathroom after showering!

Fantastic experience: I visited Stratford for a week, and based on a recommendation from a nice waitress at a breakfast restaurant, me and my huge German friend came here for workouts. We got a one month deal at an affordable price and visited the place three times. It was spacious, clean and had all the equipment we needed. We did not test the shower, tanning or hydromassage, but those options would also have been available. Certainly one of the best gyms I have been to. Not too crowded but still certainly popular among the locals. Special thanks to the receptionist who was just the most kind person. She helped us with everything and greeted us with a smile every time we visited. Also all the gym goers were polite, friendly and easy-going. There were people of all shapes and sizes working out here and I miss the place already.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in Stratford area with " Great Staff " and the best prices ! After working out for 30 plus years at different gyms in Stratford a lot of people I have met over the years are now all going to Crunch Fitness !!! The people that put a one stars on here I think just don't want to workout after trying for a couple of days and want to blame someone besides themselves !! There should only be 5 stars for Crunch Fitness !
Negative experience: People are committing FRAUD by using my details to sign up for fraudlent gym memberships. Clearly you need to enhance your KYC process. Club #08262 Agreement #8262-07734 - Walk-in Sign Up dated 9/18/2023 - so prehaps you should look at your camera footage to identify the fraudster!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this gym. It has exactly what I've been looking for. I have to drive roughly 25 minutes to work out but it is so worth it! They have a sauna in each change room, hydro massage beds, all the free weights, machines or classes you could ever want! Staff are all WONDERFUL. Owner is so nice. Very clean and organized. Can't say enough!!!

Negative experience: If your considering this gym don't bother. I joined them quite a few years ago. Then me and my family moved away from stratford, and I no longer needed a membership. So I canceled my membership. Unfortunately I didn't notice but they kept taking money from my account for 1 year after I canceled. As soon as I noticed this I called them furious about it. And they claim I didn't cancel. So I went back in to the gym and canceled AGAIN for a second time. To which they also said I have to pay a additional 3 months after canceling. Even after taking my money for 1 year and refusing to refund me. After the 3 months they still kept taking money. So just to end this I had to cancel my bank account and I switched to another bank anyways that had more of what I was looking for anyways. Now a year or two later I get an email saying they are taking me to collections. Absolutely ridiculous that even after signing 2 cancelation forms they think they can continue taking money. So after all this I called the gym yesterday, talked to a guy about it and he told me he would have his manager call me before noon the next day. Well it's 7:30pm the next day and no phone call. Worst experience ever. And will be making damn sure everyone in the area knows about this.
Negative experience: I have been going to this gym for a year now. Good equipments but the weekend staff is never at reception. We understand they have cleaning to do but have to be present at reception as well because i had to wait for 5mins and getting late for my job. When i was leaving ,the staff were making faces and pointing at me because i was putting on my shoes where she just mopped. What was i suppose to do?? Take my shoes and went outside in snow to put them on? They are doing their jobs but forgetting that their most important job is towards their customers. Rude and disrespectful staff
Negative experience: Tried to cancel 3 times over the past year, haven't even been in the same province. Still getting charged. Finally got cancelled but only getting my most recent payment back. Terrible customer service.

Fantastic experience: I have been to 3 other gyms before this is the Best place to work out. All staff is very nice. Lots of equipment to use and lots of events and extra things to do. Prices are really good too
Negative experience: Horrible customer service all around, many issues reoccurred regarding my payment, and so many hidden “fees” and “fines” that aren’t disclosed to clients before signing up. I thought I was signing up for a $11.99 a month subscription, but ended up paying upwards of 200$ out of pocket during the three months I attended this gym. I attempted to close my account last month, but I’ve continuously been called and spammed about updating my payment info. I called AGAIN today attempting to close my account, and now I’m being forced to pay 35$ to close an account at a gym I haven’t been to in months. Loved the equipment and environment within the establishment, but the staff, customer service, and all around Buisness model is very corrupt and does not benefit the consumer at all. I would highly recommend finding another gym (preferably one that’s CANADIAN owned) or even buying your own equipment, I could have done so with all the time and money this company has stolen from me.
Positive experience: I've been a Crunch member for 12 years. I'm newish to the Stratford location and I like it! I am wondering though why the mens change room was shut down during peak gym hours (5 o'clock) for a ridiculously long time! Did someone have explosive diarrhea in there or vomit? Then I would understand why there was a line up of men waiting outside the change rooms at peak gym hours waiting and waiting. My husband had taken his pre-workout and was starting to feel nauseous from the just sitting as it coursed through his system. Men were all standing around asking each other why it was happening during PEAK GYM HOURS! I was thinking "I still have to go home and make dinner and get ready for tomorrow...I've been up since 5am and this is really putting a damper on my plans for the night. I'm sure that the wife of the other man waiting was thinking something similar. It really ruined our entire night as we didn't get home until after 7 PM because of it and we work at 6am the next day but have fitness goals. Maybe for the future let the staff know that disinfecting the bathroom is necessary but should be done with a little more urgency if doing it during peak gym hours. I would have emailed but there is no option on the website.

Negative experience: I got a membership to Crunch Stratford, previous to covid. I was under the impression that a "month to month" membership would be literally month to month, where you go in and pay physically each month. That's how it was explained to me. So anyways it's all fine and good and then covid hits, gym closes. So when the gym opened back up again, I didn't go, because it seemed like a hassle. I noticed Crunch had been taking money out of my account. I called them, and I asked why they're doing this, when I am on a "month to month" membership. They said that's what a "month to month" membership was. I stated that I was unaware, and that it wasn't explained to me properly upon purchasing the membership. The woman on the other end kept arguing with me. I eventually said, ok just cancel my membership then. She said I had to come in to cancel it. This is a huge inconvenience to me, because I do not live in Stratford. Needless to say, they said there's nothing they can do. I sent an email to Crunch's website, with no response. (It has been a month). The customer service at Crunch Stratford is absolutely terrible. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? Would it kill them to give me back my money they have robbed me of? No, no it wouldn't. Please give me my money back. You're a corporation. I'm a human. What's $150 to Crunch? Seriously though. Why cant you just give people their money back. You say you have 5000 patrons....what's 25, 50, 150, 500 bucks?
Positive experience: Small men's change rooms. Awesome treadmills, although they are a little close to the TV's. Machines always clean and working properly. Friendly staff, and don't forget about the feline friend!
Fantastic experience: Great gym, super friendly staff and awesome members. Due to the affordable price point, the gym is often busy but the members are extremely friendly, allowing you to work in or even giving up their machines for you if the one you need is taken. The staff are super helpful and always look after everyone, many of them even go out of their way to memorize your name and check in on how you’re doing. Owner is very kind and can be often seen greeting members throughout the gym. Would highly recommend!

Negative experience: Dirty change rooms and lockers. Sauna is out of order for months. They charge for towels . Many benches have ripped upholstery. Equipment is old and worn
Negative experience: Lost my credit card and needed to update. Instead of doing the normal thing they and just letting me update it they tack on a $25 fee for nothing and then when I complain the owner treats me like a child. No loyalty at all for a member thats been there for over a year. Would rate a 0 if it was possible. In response to owner a couple of things that did not happen First I was sent no text messages. Second I Am still here because you made me pay another month to get out of my contract. Also I was not given the option of not paying the $25 or I wouldn’t have been upset. The weeks you said I had was literally 2 days. As I come to the gym 4 times a week and I had just gotten my new card. Also the staff wasn’t rude, I never said they were. The owner, however, was very rude. The fact you basically have to make things up is sad and really shows you need to change some policies. I stand by my review.

Negative experience: By far the worst gym you can ever go to if you’re a bodybuilder. Poor selection of machines. The owner behaves like a child (see replies below), and has very poor customer service skills. Disrespectful members and staff. I was interrupted mid-set to be told that I can’t have my gym bag on the floor. During the 30th anniversary there was someone in a rabbit suit running around who grabbed my arm without any respect for my personal space. Members gang up on you if you’re using more than one machine for supersets. A lady tried arguing with me because I asked her not to wear excessive perfumes/scents because it almost triggered an asthma attack during my cardio. Just go to GoodLife. [EDIT: Reply posted from the owner below is full of blatant lies, proving the how unprofessional this business is. 1) I was in the middle of single leg ham curls and my leg was still moving when she approached me and started talking. Also failed to address the rabbit that was harassing people during the anniversary “party”. 2) I was using the machine and offered to let the man work in and he refused and told me to use a different machine. I would never tell somebody “no”. He then followed me around the gym deliberately blocking my mirror space. 3) Scents in public places are literally a health risk. This is well known. Gyms such as GoodLife acccomodate the scent-free guideline.] I will be taking up this matter with head office - As this behaviour is incredibly unprofessional and frankly, embarrassing for this business. Once again folks... just go to GoodLife!
Negative experience: If I could give it zero I would. Staff are terrible and cater pathetically to the regulars who are there daily. I was humiliated by a girl who claimed to have a scent allergies. I was not wearing perfume just deodorant and this girl caused a huge scene at the counter drawing the attention of most of the patrons and embarrassing me horribly. Even though the gym smells like axe and mens deodorant. The staff, who knew her by name. seemed to ignore my explanation and sided with the regular basically calling me a liar when I said I was only wearing deodorant . I left and intend on cancelling my membership. I don't go to the gym after a stressful day to play a role in someone's need for attention and drama Staff are very unprofessional and handled the situation like clique teenagers instead of professionals.

Negative experience: This gym is no good for fighters. They will discriminate against a few (Muay Thai, Kickboxers, Boxers, MMA) to accommodate the majority of people who may be annoyed by the noise. They have bags but they don’t want you to kick them hard because you may wreck them. They want you to wear shoes at all times but then for kicking the Thai bags they want you to take it off. If you are near the bag area holding pads for kicking and boxing they want you to have shoes on even though for their bags they want shoes off. It is a joke. They have a terrible manager and staff. For them it is their way or the highway. Several folks of the fighting community (which is big) in Stratford have expressed similar bad experience when training their martial arts at this gym. The manager’s excuse is that it is a ‘family’s gym’ therefore anyone who is competitive about their martial arts, regardless of how respectful to others they may be, will be discriminated against and made to change their training to suit those who may be annoyed by it. Simply put, they want fighters to train and be like everyone else — not competitive.
Negative experience: The monthly membership fee is a really great value. I unfortunately had my visa stolen in December, but due to the holidays and postal service issues, didn't get a replacement until mid-January. ABC Financial called me multiple times, but unfortunately it was all automated, and only gave me the option to update payment, which I couldn't do because I had not received my replacement card. When I did receive my card, I went into the gym to update my payment info in person. To my surprise I now owe about $100 total in fees. I asked for a manager to call me back, so I could explain the situation and clear up why I have two late charges for only one month of missed payment. Marissa had called me but did not take the time to listen to the situation, and kept talking over me telling me to "stop and listen, okay?". She told me that I should have came into the gym to let them know, but I don't know why I would have to waste my time doing so when I was expecting a replacement card at any time? Not that I expect an overly professional experience from a gym, but that was an odd phone call. I am cancelling my membership because visas can get lost / stolen and this has been a headache to deal with, I had at least 10 companies taking auto payments off my card during this time, and Crunch Stratford was the only one that has caused issues. I am disappointed in the lack of professionalism and lack in common sense of Marissa telling me to pay the overcharges in full, and then call visa to dispute the charges.
Negative experience: DONT GET BURNED!!!!! 1 star isn't low enough!!!! A staff member name Jason McLeod signed me into what he said was a "month by month' contract that can be cancelled at any time. Today i tried to cancel my membership seeing as i move to a different part of Ontario, and i am told that i have been locked into a 1yr contract till may, the man who signed me up is no longer there and shut up and put up. That is not honest. I did not sign a contract for a 1yr time limit. I was mislead by the staff and given the royal runaround by the Manager Alana. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS GYM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE DIRTY PLAYERS!!!!!
Negative experience: Whenever I'm inspired to go to the gym I go on the website to see what classes are happening but it has never been posted on the website. Not very handy. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot??

Negative experience: I really like this gym and the childcare but the poor kids have no Air Conditioning while the main area does ...whats up with that?
