Chop Shop Physiques - Stony Plain

Positive experience: Great culture, great machine although some of them do show signs of a little too much love(tears), specially Stony plain location. Great assortement of attachments. If you want to build some knarly legs and glutes, this is the gym for you. Spruce grove location is a little crowded but if you rather a little more space, Stony Plain location is quite bigger. You will feel motivated just by being there and seeing other members work their butts off. Been there for 2 weeks and feel in love already and also got my gym partner so join as well and he his liking it a lot more then previous gym.

Fantastic experience: I have been to a few gyms in my life but never one where the staff make you feel so welcome and I love the periodic check ins via email and text. Clean, affordable and lots of variety of equipment. I am happy with my choice and highly recommend.

Positive experience: Good small local gym! Rates are quite high considering the amenities, so that's the only reason for a 4 star. Overall, it is a good place to train if you want to support local over a franchise.

Positive experience: Clean facility and good equipment. I wanted a bit of a less busy facility with more weight lifting equipment vs all cable and "home" type machines and I found it here! Even the young people that come here are pretty good n just do their thing.

Fantastic experience: I’ve always loved Chop Shop, started in the stony one then I moved to spruce so transferred there, now I’m back in stony and I absolutely love it, The people are amazing and the workers are very kind. I’ve been late to work a time or two after some good conversations with Lisa. Forever grateful for the community it’s created.

Fantastic experience: Today was my first day going to this gym. First time in an actual fitness facility in over 3 years. The staff member on site was super friendly and helpful showing me how to use the 24 hour access app, and shown the sanitary spray station and different areas of the gym Change rooms are spacious and offer lockers, as well as showers. and the equipment.. just awesome! So many machines and options for an individuals fitness goals. The active members of the gym were awesome in showing me new tricks and how to better my form as well. Left feeling better about myself. And looking forward to going again tomorrow.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, it is on the smaller size however that’s one of the things I love about it. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. It is also great that you have access to all the gyms, it’s so convenient!!

Fantastic experience: One of the best locally owned gyms I have had the pleasure of going to; the owner is amazing and so responsive to texts and have in the past treated health responders and nurses with a discount that was appreciated. Love the equipment and the fact it’s open 24 hours. I do miss the dedicated space for the rope but understand it was taken away for more equipment hoping stony plain location gets an expansion of more room for the equipment and to work out. Keep up the great work.

Positive experience: Just joined in March. I tried calling 3 times between December and Jan and never got a call back so just joined online in a really easy process... Love the space. I feel it has a great selection of exercise equipment. I have yet to find my dream gym with a infrared sauna and Jacob's ladder but I love Chop Shop it's not been too busy as of yet either !!!

Fantastic experience: I waited a long time to find the right local gym. Chop Shop ticked all the boxes for me - open 24 hours, great prices, huge selection of equipment, handy location, large space, lots of parking, plus so much more. I’ve been going since November 2022 and I’m still discovering great things about this gym - and I’ve only been to the Stony Plain location!! I’m hooked!

Fantastic experience: Tried out a few of the gyms in the area, and I can say Chop Shop BY FAR has the best atmosphere and staff working there and I have yet to have a negative experience. They have varied equipment, some that I have yet to see at another gym (looking at you hip thrust machine), the staff are always down to talk and ask about your workout but also respect the introverts, and both gyms give a different experience. The price is also completely reasonable. Definitely a 5 star gym

Fantastic experience: Small gym but pretty great overall, usually pretty quiet and clean. They have some different equipment which is nice. Memberships are reasonable, plus it's 24h access. It's never crazy busy even during peak times.

I've was going consistently since 2017 and they've continued to maintain and upgrade equipment and in my opinion have handled the recent global health issue very well. 2nd location opening in Spruce Grove this winter will be worth checking out

I felt a little blinded when first signing up as I didnt know proper mobile key entry procedure or covid protocols.

Fantastic experience: This is by far the friendliest gym I have ever been to. The chop shop has become like a second home and a second family to me. I would not be at the place that I am in my fitness journey with out the community that the chop shop has developed.

Fantastic experience: This is an excellent gym. There's a high degree of gym etiquette from all members which is like a unicorn... Best freeweights (dumbbells) and benches in Parkland county easily, best I've seen in Edmonton area yet... I'm sure it comparable or better to some of the larger chains. Cardio equipment is comprehensive: bikes, elliptical, treadmill and studys master, all with tablets built in to fight the boredom of cardio! The rates are cheapest in all Parkland with no contracts as well. Also a kick a$$ sound system that -if not being used - you can use to play your own playlists they the gym speakers! All in all, there's no need to look anywhere else unless you're in East Edmonton or you want to pay now for a worse facility. Chop Shop for the win!!!

Negative experience: Be aware that this place is false advertising the 24/7 service. They are close at 7pm on a Tuesday for new members.

Negative experience: Despite the nice new equipment They’ve allowed the children to control the loud music and I can’t even hear my headphones over it so you need to like loud Eminem and Metallica. Very clicky socialization type place for those that want to be part of that. He’s made it cheap enough to get business that every man and his dog goes here now and there’s so many kids that do nothing but socialize on the equipment. So unless you go in the middle of the night you’re competing for space with the Socials. Strange too how ALL the trainers EXCEPT the owner are female... I’ve since paid more to return to my old gym and am happy I did.

Fantastic experience: I really love this gym. I have really become comfortable in it. It is clean, the staff is lovely, and the rates are sooo reasonable. It is normally very quiet, though it is starting to pick up. I am sad that means less private gym sessions for me, but I'm glad the business is doing well!
