Fantastic experience: My husband and I moved to Sooke this summer and signed up at Sooke Fitness within our first week of living here, as I wanted a 24/7 facility that would fit my schedule. As soon as I walked in the door, I knew it was the gym for me. The staff are unbelievably friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming with members of all ages and fitness levels, and there's a great mix of free weights, racks, weight machines, and cardio equipment! We even got a little welcome package with coupons when we signed up! It can get busy at times, which makes it a little tricky to find a place to put down a mat for floor work or yoga, but the same can be said for most gyms. I was a Goodlife member for years in my old province, and I feel way more comfortable and welcome at Sooke Fitness, and the membership fees are a fraction of the price! As an added bonus, they sell supplements and also have tanning beds, which will come in handy for those long rainy winter months. Excellent gym, and I will be a member until work forces me to move away again. :)

Fantastic experience: Greatest gym in Sooke!!

Negative experience: Good equipment and staff. The music is terrible. Mostly bad hip hop. Listening to some song right now that's going "if you have some baby work it, if you have some baby shake it".

Positive experience: My wife and I joined Sooke Health & Fitness to increase our fitness level in areas that our daily hiking and walking didn't address. We like the layed back atmosphere of the gym and the abundance of machines available. We like the 24 hour availablility which meets our variable schedules of shopping, doggie care and doctor appointments. We always get a smile and kind word from the attendant and also other gym members. If a question arises on the working of a unfamiliar machine we feel a helpful explanation is always forthcoming. As we grow older we realize exercise is a very important part of healthy living and not the easiest to adhere to regular schedule but your gym makes meeting the required exercise hours much easier than some. Keep up the great service.

Fantastic experience: I'm REALLY out of shape and was very apprehensive to go to the gym, felt like I would be judged or feel out of place. Not once have I felt that way! In fact, seeing other people more fit than me has given me a ton of motivation to keep working out. I'm still just a couple of weeks into going but am already feeling different! The weight equipment is really easy to use, staff are all wonderful and supportive.

Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, gym is clean with solid equipment, and it feels safe when in "after hours".

Fantastic experience: Sooke fitness is a super clean facility. Nice open gym. I used it for their great deals on tanning memberships. The staff are so helpful and great to work with. Try it out if you get a chance!

Fantastic experience: I did 1 month unlimited tanning. I loved going every night and seeing the ladies at the front desk. They always greeted me with a smile and chatted about my travel plans. The beds were always clean and ready when I arrived. I would gladly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Great facility to have in Sooke! A wide range of weigh machines, cardio gear and free weights... and friendly staff. They have everything I could possibly need, and more. After a considerable gap (due to several injuries in other activities) it feels great to be back, recovering, and getting strong again!

The staff have been super friendly, and always seem available for any questions The gym has everything I was looking for in a workout (especially with me being a workout newbie) and is very clean with the equipment in great shape. Fantastic experience: As a plus sized person, I hesitated going to the gym. I have had no complaints about sooke fitness, the staff makes you feel welcome. Great atmosphere to work out in. Never had an issue with other members. Abit too hot in the summer with no air conditioning. But overall great place.

Fantastic experience: Sooke Health & Fitness is the best gym I have ever attended, and I have attended many over the years. The facility is kept extremely clean, (during Covid they went way above and beyond.) The staff are wonderful, friendly, helpful, and cheerful. The equipment is kept in excellent condition, and all I need for my workout is there. Also great ventilation, which helps a lot in the warmer months. I would recommend anyone looking to join a gym to definitely give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: A very welcoming staff and atmosphere. All shapes and sizes of people so there is no stigma to already be in shape to go to this gym! I have been with Sooke Fitness for over a decade. If working out in the summer go early to avoid the heat. The setting is nice with the tv's and panoramic view of the hustle and bustle of Sooke. I find the cardio machines great to get the heart pumping and then there are many universal machines for a great circuit so you can get your whole workout in without picking up a dumbbell. If you prefer more advanced workouts the lower level is filled with weights for the serious body builder.

Fantastic experience: Of all the places in Sooke to pick things up and put them down over and over and over again, or the move quickly but stay in one spot, I would recommend this one. It's not like you ever use your home gym anyway.

Positive experience: Decent gym. I'm on a free trial right now. Everyone I've met seems pretty chill, and it doesn't seem like a judge-y kind of place; people just do their thing and no one is bothered. I'll probably sign up for a membership once this trial period is over, as it has everything I need access to in order keep in shape.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, close to home so makes it more convenient to get there. Lots of different machines to choose from. They have a weight room down stairs with a few other bikes as well. Staff are amzing and friendly, always saying hi if there not busy. If you like to tan, they got a new stand up bed as well as a laying down bed. Place is pretty clean every time I’m their.

Fantastic experience: I have been working out at Sooke Health and Fitness since I decided to get in shape after the birth of my second son in 2016. The facilities are clean, the staff know me on a first name basis, and the equipment is always well maintained. Sooke Health and Fitness has provided me with a place to burn off excess energy 24/7 and I have been known to pop in at all hours of the day and night. Even when I just couldn't sleep. I can't imagine using another facility at this point.

Fantastic experience: Been a member for a few years now… the gym is ALWAYS open. The gym has a great space that can incorporate traditional weightlifting as well as power lifts and CrossFit type activities. NEVER have I had any issues with this gym, and that’s saying a lot.
