Negative experience: I love the facility and I want this place to be better, but the customer service here has been really poor. I understand that customer service can be difficult, but I come to this place to improve my physical and mental health and it sucks to be met with a rude and condescending attitude. This has happened multiple times here when I merely ask where the atm is, or ask about the plans they offer.

Negative experience: They’re charging more every year but then reducing amount of lane swim times offered. Then you go and it’s at capacity and can’t get in anyway. Very unfortunate and disappointing.

Due to the closure of our Competitive Pool, we've added additional warm up pool lane swim times to help, including: - Monday-Friday: 8:00pm-9:00pm - Saturday: 10:00am-1:00pm - Sunday: 9:00am-12:00pm We appreciate your feedback and are working to improve the experience for all our patrons.

Negative experience: The customer service has the worst attitude. The deep pool is booked most of the time, even on weekends. It's the only swimming pool we have in Saskatoon at the moment. It's not recommended, but there are no other options.

Negative experience: Literally the rudest employees in the world. One of the older women there is the worst, always seems to have a problem with my leisure card. Sorry you hate your life, but stop taking it out on other people

Negative experience: Mixed experience with the Shaw centre. The facility is first class. The problems are with accessibility for those with disabilities. We have mobility issues, and met others with problems as well. There’s an elevator, but many times the staff locks it out for people trying to go upstairs. If the elevator is working to go upstairs , the employees have the second floor access doors locked so people can’t reach the elevator to go downstairs. This has been happening for years, accessibility is a hit or miss affair. Not sure if this policy is driven by the city management or by the individual employees, but it’s often a challenge to visit this otherwise excellent pool.

Due to the nature of the complex and location of the elevators, we do unfortunately need to limit the access and control to the 2nd level of the building. The elevator schedules are posted beside the elevator. If you require this service outside of those hours, you can see the front desk who are happy to assist.

Negative experience: This would be a good pool if it was ever open to the public. You can only swim during the week between 1 and 3 or 7 and 9. Which none of those times work for me. Such a big pool, with such limited access for public swimming. In total 4 hours a day. 2 hours at a time… at not very convenient times. My daughter and her family are also unable to go those hours either. Her son always asks to go swimming after school. It’s never open. And with Harry Bailey closed there’s really nowhere to go swimming in this city. The pool at Lawson is nice but just to small, can’t find space to actually swim. Very disappointing for such a big city that there’s literally nowhere to go swimming

Negative experience: If you buy a leisure pass to land swim I would highly not recommend in this city . Lane swimmers are at the bottom of their list for caring they cancel the few times they have and now that harry Bailey is closed they have not added new times anywhere so unless u swim 6-8 am or 8-10 pm you are out of luck in this city .

Positive experience: Brought a swim team here for competitions and spent 3 days around the Shaw Centre. I would have given 5 stars except the food concession is closed. With thousands of customers using this great facility every day I wonder why it is closed. The scamdemic is over and it would be convenient to have the concession open again. The facility itself is worth 5 stars

Positive experience: I go there for basketball courts and they are pretty good. The swimming pool there is too much rush. Although there are changing rooms available, they are not that clean, honestly. It might be because of the rush in the evenings. But overall, it's nice.

Negative experience: Walk in pool is cold, family hot tub cold

We recently faced boiler issues impacting our pool temperatures and has taken longer than expected to return to normal temperatures due to the cold weather outside. To keep our patrons informed, we list the pool temperatures on the Facility Daily Programs whiteboard. We strive to maintain temperatures between 26.6-28.3°C (80-83°F) for the Leisure pool and 35°C (95°F) for the Family hot tub. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to resolve this matter and provide a more comfortable experience.
Negative experience: Jan. 7th, 2024 - 9:30 am. Showed up and was not allowed to enter because the pool was “at capacity.” There was approx 20 people swimming and the reason was lack of employees and life guards. This screams poor management. Hire more people.

Negative experience: I took a taxi in the absence of our vehicle to visit the center for the very first time with my 2 little kids, 4 and 1 yr old to go to the indoor playground as advertised on the website. After buying the tickets I was directed to a small room which was actually child minding room without any toys. There was a baby stroller, baby rocking chair and a baby bouncer, Racing car track without any cars and all the cupboards were locked. Absolutely shocked I went back to the reception I requested for the cupboards to be opened thinking they missed out or something because there was nothing at all. The lady giving out tickets very rudely responded This is what you get here. I repeatedly asked what would kids do there without any toys and why are we being charged but no proper response or action. Indoor playground is false advertising and the staff is all the more horrible in dealing with someone visiting with kids. Date 29 Dec time 4:30pm. I hope management will look into this feedback and do something about it

Negative experience: Very bad mold on flutter boards and in the showers. Black mold along walls of all universal changeroom shower area. Please step up the cleanliness. The lane swim equipment needs to be stored in a way it can dry properly. This is a health concern.

Negative experience: Tired of the hot tub getting closed and disappointed with the spray not on for the little kids. This place is going down hill. Doesn't help that other options are limited as other facilities are closed for renovations that aren't getting done.

Negative experience: Been coming here for years. Used to be really good but it's got pretty tough in over the past year or so. Usually, I just use the weight room, which is almost impossible these days because it's almost always flooded with unruly teens from the high school. Gym classes are always happening, and despite the fact they're supposed to be relegated to the bottom level, often times they occupy the upstairs as well. As a result, the weights are always disorganized (5/10lb weights mixed in with 45s mixed in with the 25s, if they're even re-racked at all), equipment is in disrepair, kids running around playing, having tickle fights, playing on their phones and generally occupying space/equipment and making messes. They'll even walk up and take the stuff you're using if you're not careful. For some reason the posted "rules" about behavior and dress code don't apply to them. After school is packed, and when the kids start moving out around 5-6pm, then the place starts filling up with hoodlums playing loud rap music on bluetooth speakers that will drown out the music in your own headphones. I don't think there is even a good time to go anymore. I'm getting a membership at commercial gym.

We have fitness room supervision on most days, and those who may seem like students are likely Leisure Card holders, and are allowed access to both fitness room levels. Our staff actively monitors and encourages appropriate use, though it can be challenging to catch everything. Student use is integral to the facility’s design, and while we can’t alter that, we appreciate your feedback. Fantastic experience: We were there this weekend, it was very busy but the admin staff was really helpful and got my family through quickly, no issues. Appreciate the friendly service. The place definitely needs a concession though, but none of the pools in Saskatoon have one I noticed. Thefts seem to have gone down since last visit for sure. Seems to be taken more seriously nowadays. Diving boards open this time thankfully but they’re usually closed {or close} when we’ve been there in the past. Keep the boards open please, the pool is not big enough to only be using one side. Nice facility pretty clean cinder the circumstances I’d say.

Negative experience: Locker was broken in too and had all my belongings stolen, i was also told there has been Multiple thefts within the last month. The staff will do nothing and did not seem to care. Would not recomend this Gym or facility

Negative experience: This gym is nice and most of the staff are actually great so I hate to give it 1-star. My wife and I came in to swim but they had cancelled their swim time due to other activities (this was not updated online). That’s not even the issue because this oversight is understandable. The lifeguard on duty (Owen) was very rude to my wife and I. He stepped up to us as we approached him/pool area and said “there’s no swimming today, you have to leave.” We just wanted to know what happened because the schedule said there was swimming. He would not offer any explanation and repeated 3 times very authoritatively as if he were a police officer or an authority figure, “you have to leave”. We understood that immediately that we had to leave, we were simply asking what happened. But he didn’t want to talk or explain. I called him out and being unprofessional but instead of apologizing and accepting his mistake he stepped even closer to me sticking his chest out and chin up as if he wanted to fight. This was extremely rude, unprofessional, and out of nowhere. I wouldn’t have believed this random escalation out of nowhere but I know why it happened, unfortunately. My wife and I are both both visibly people of colour and of faith. For some reason, Shaw Center feels comfortable employing a racist life guard, it’s quite unfortunate because everyone else we’ve talked to has been very nice and welcoming. We’re coming to Shaw to work on ourselves, not to be confronted by a racist employee.

Negative experience: Facility is fine. However the last few times I've been here I've had to wait 15 minutes at the front desk because one customer will hold up the line. Today (Sept. 1/23) my daughter and I, along with 20 other people, had to wait 20 minutes at the front desk because a lady needed extra help with her transaction. No other front desk staff would help out the cashier so the line could move. To be clear, the cashier was trying hard to resolve the customer's issue and it wasn't her fault that the customer was being a pain. That being said I hope if the front desk staff see a lineup of 20+ people waiting to get into the pool, perhaps they can have an extra person help get the line moving?

There are instances when patrons accidentally forget their items in lockers, prompting us to assist them in retrieving their belongings. Very recently, a patron left her sandals in a locker that she had previously used which we have successfully located in an open locker. In cases like these, we adhere to a procedure of staff going in pairs to ensure transparency and security. Our primary goal is to create a safe environment for everyone. Fantastic experience: This facility is great. It's nice to have a facility like this in Saskatchewan. There needs to be one like this in Regina. They could use some more lighting though. It's kind of dingy inside even though the facility is pretty new. They could maybe swap out the over abundance of speakers for some more lights.

Fantastic experience: Amazing facility, have almost everything which you can think off There are deep swimming pools for lane swimming and then there are few low depth public pools There is also a provision for hot tub which is pretty exciting in Winters! Negative experience: I was straight up told "there's high incidents of theft. If you use your own lock, you're probably going to lose your belongings." Don't think I'll come back if that's the norm.

Fantastic experience: This is mine and my nieces second favourite swimming pool (next to Harry Bailey lol). The change rooms are very clean & I just wish that they had more/better hours for tot & family swim because it gets so busy for general public swim. But that obviously means that is because it’s a great pool lol. I definitely want to check out one of the aquatic classes soon

Negative experience: Can't even get through on the phone with them, it's been like this for years. Why is it so hard to answer to answer. Isn't there usually a bunch of staff right by the phone Still don't answer phone.

Fantastic experience: Love the 2 level fitness room. Lots of cardio options and no shortage of weights and machines. The walking/running track is a highlight for me. 2 great pools. 1 with waterslide, hot tubs and great for family swims, the other a great competition pool with lane swimming, diving platforms etc. The entire place (Sandwiched between Public and Catholic high schools) smells like a pool and reminds me of swimming lessons as a kid. It's an extra drive across town for me, but my favorite city facility. A little bit of everything for everyone. My only gripe is that it's a bit claustrophobic at times. Some of the walkways are crowded with folks hanging out between sets, and some of the cardio (bikes) are a bit too close to each other. All tolerable though, for the extra equipment they can fit in.

Fantastic experience: Shaw Centre is an amazing place to be. It's one of the biggest leisure centres in Saskatoon. It has large parking spaces for users, and the front desk attendants are nice. There's a wide variety of facilities here like: swimming pool, gym, gymnastics, courts, etc. Making use of these facilities requires leisure cards or tickets that can be purchased at the centre. There's also child minding available for those who own leisure cards so you can carry out with your activities while your child is being looked after. There are also vending machines within the facility.

Negative experience: The worst service and security. Because in fact the security does nothing and does not even help to solve the problems that arise. So let me tell you what happened... Today, I visited the pool with my husband and son. We left our sneakers on the shelf in front of the entrance to the dressing room. After the swimming session, I was left without my sneakers. Appropriate sneakers cost $250 (Michel Kors). Then I went to the reception desk and explained my problem. A guard was called to me. He listened to me. I asked to see the surveillance video, which I was denied. And then the security guard said that they had 10 such incidents last week. The question is, what did you do to solve this problem??? Where is the management of the center looking? Why pay security for nothing? I also asked the security guard to put me in touch with the supervisor or at least the manager of the center and I was also refused. I am extremely upset. This is the gift I received for my wedding anniversary. Thank you very much!!! You can forget about safety and respect in this center. If you want to swim or work out in the gym, get out of the car in a swimsuit or swimming trunks, because you can leave naked. Take care and avoid this center.

Fantastic experience: Went to a childrens birthday party here and it was wonderful, pool was very very busy but the lazy river is sooo fun for the younger kids and the whole family enjoyed the slide, diving board and hot tub
Negative experience: This place is "woke" they allow men who claim they are women into the womens changeroom and showers beware!!!!!! not safe
Positive experience: Hot tub is good..often very busy Tuesdays- Friday evenings. The Gymnasium has been closed since at least December. Hopefully some type of security can be utilized and the Gymnasium can open for everyone to shoot hoops again asap. I don't know the circumstances of why the gym had to be closed, but it's sad Shaw centre staff etc can't figure put a solution that will enable the many that need it, especially in the winter. Come on people, get the gym open again!!

Fantastic experience: Bring your own lock or make sure you have 50 cents for tokens for the lockers. People still manage to steal supposedly. Busy on weekends. Not sure about evenings. There's a sign at the front desk about needing a bracelet for the weight room. I forgot to ask about that. Not sure what else I can add.
Positive experience: My son and I love swimming and the Shaw Center is our favourite pool in Saskatoon. So much swimming, diving and flying down the waterside!
Negative experience: I called at recpection for tommy douglas gym for vollyball booking the lady at recpection asked everything and didnt help us out kept saying will call you back in a bit but didnt call tried to call multiple times keep on ringing but she didnt answer her name is *(/////Jennifer////) such a rude person messed up our games plan,please throw her out not capable of doing this job

Fantastic experience: Fantastic multi use facility. Dedicated to all swim sports, running track, family pool, etc. Really clean and safe. Saskatoon is lucky to have it.
Negative experience: Barely any Public Swimming times available anymore anywhere in Saskatoon, and these guys are no exception. Thank God I don't have a membership, because it would be a giant waste of money.
Fantastic experience: If you need a good place to relax this is the place. Especially the pool and hot tub area.
Positive experience: Facilty as a whole would be a lot nicer if the women at the front desk weren’t absolutely miserable. Maybe it’s just me but there’s 2 in particular that seem like they absolutely hate being there. Understandably they deal with a lot of people some probably not so nice themselves (dealing with the general public can suck), but as a regular member for the last year my husband and I are considering finding a new gym, we’re not easily offended by any means but sick of the attitude on arrival.
Positive experience: We arrived at the shaw center at 2pm. The road up to the facility is quite nice and the turn off is well marked with signs pointing to the Shaw Center. Once you enter the building, you're greeted with open design with a lot of windows for natural light. There are washrooms available at the check in desk as passed the doors to the pool/gym area. Men's and women's changerooms available as well as a family option. Very clean facility. Pool area is great. The main pool is quite warm and the kids had fun in the lazy river. The pool with the diving boards were open and we had so much fun in there. The hot tub just before the doors to the diving boards was much hotter than the other hot tub. Gym looks like all brand new equipment. All around a good time!
Negative experience: We have been to the Shaw Centre multiple times over the past month during their Sunday night public swim. The Universal Change Rooms (AKA family change room) have been absolutely disgusting every time. They are gross when we get there at the beginning of the public swimming and even worse when we leave hours later. Wet hair all over the floors and benches, wet articles of clothing on the floors, no garbage cans. Some rooms don’t even have change tables; simply a narrow bench, which makes it very difficult to tend to our 2 year old and 2 month old in one room. Cleanliness is super important to us when we bring our kids out to public places. Such a shame since the pool is great!

Fantastic experience: Great swimming place for kids, b8g hottub for adults, wheel chair accessible hot tub as well. Great swimming pool. Staff are always really frinsky and helpful, also a big weight room work out room, but I never used it. Great staff!!

Negative experience: We went there for public swimming from 7 to 9 pm. It was a line to register but we noticed it's not moving. There wasn't any staff outside of that room to tell us in line what is the problem and the two ladies inside look like they are doing something but we don't know what is it. We just heard from people in the line infront of us they don't have enough life gaurd so they can't accept people. And they may get lifeguard at 7:30 pm. It was really unprofessional and poor management. No body cares about us in line . Or at list they should let us know or write in their website that they have problem .
