Positive experience: Nice facilities but the cost of membership has gone up in price. Would be nice to have a army discount for service members.

Fantastic experience: The YMCA Saint John is a fantastic place for the whole family. The facilities are top-notch, with a clean and well-maintained swimming pool and a warm therapy pool that's perfect for relaxation. The gym is well-equipped, and there are courts for basketball and pickleball, providing plenty of options for exercise and fun. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. It's a welcoming and positive environment that caters to all ages. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: I'm here currently at the Y at 7:25 AM on a Sunday June 16th. And the Y is still closed when they open 7:00 AM on a sunday. I'd be paying so much for a membership

Negative experience: The Syrian guy who introduced him self as as manger of YMCA and manager of project in YMCA . He detracts the organization (YMCA) from its goals, which are to assist newcomers rather than showcasing the skills of the managers. He attempts to present himself as a manager of the organization and talk about management rather than assisting newcomers.

Negative experience: Front desk has no idea what they're doing or what's going on. Staff picks and chooses which company policies to enforce and which ones no to (and also who to enforce/not enforce them upon). One employee in particular should not be working at a front desk of any sort due to his extreme lack of people skills .

Positive experience: Memberships are a bit expensive but worth it thanks to the gym and some motivation I lost 10kg in a month and have seriously increase my muscles.

Positive experience: Facilities usually good, wish they had squash & racquetball courts. Membership can be pricey if not fully used.

Fantastic experience: This gym is first class, lots of room, huge windows, high ceiling, it feels like u are in a stadium, and u even have space to do laps around, shower are great and people who work there are superfriendly. Lov it

Fantastic experience: It's the only place for any type of culture in Saint John that's,not beer related. Facilities are good. I wish there were more pools in NB instead of skating rinks.

Negative experience: So expensive. Programs are regularily cancelled. During March break during the time when swimming lessons should have been running they switched it an adults only pool time so we couldn't even use the pool time we were paying for.

Positive experience: Just started going, and I'm still familiarizing myself there, but I have been enjoying it. I prefer to have a gym with options, and the Y has a pool, running track, weights and a gymnasium. I wish it had racketball courts, but my search continues lol. Equipment is good, programs options are good, and in a little time I may have a better review. For now, my only negative is the price...but it's a fair price considering the opportunities.

Negative experience: I haven't been to the ymca in 3 years. I do heavy resistance training being ex military. For years I've carried free weights on the treadmills. UP to 25lbs in each hand. How am I supposed to keep in shape if I can not do my resistance training? A military pack weigh's 60 lbs plus. At Goodlife there is no issue with me carry weights or walking backwards for knee pain I was asked to walk straight ahead by YCMA staff. There was No issue At Aquatic center. Today I was asked to put my 10lbs weights back. Guess I will not be returning to the YCMA. To be Olympic fit. You must train like an Olympic fit person. so disappointed.

Fantastic experience: YMCA is the best place in many ways, from education to counseling to staying active. They help the newcomers to the highest of their abilities and give the most employment opportunities. If you have the time then definitely volunteer or help and donate as much as you can, because your donation may not change a lot for you, but it would mean the world to someone and their family. I highly recommend to get the gym membership, they have a really good package for a cheap price.

Positive experience: I went to the YMCA for Aquafit at 9:15 am in the and was told there was no instructor so the few people there had the full hr. to play in the pool.. it was enjoyable to however I do hope they can get instructors for the Aquafit classes for Fall.. I do enjoy the workouts

Negative experience: This gym is not safe anymore and need maintenance immediately. Half of the machines are not working properly. Very rude staff, to be hones it’s not worth it getting a membership there.

Fantastic experience: Almost The best YMCA. Most of the stuff are really friendly, another membership are friendly too. Inclusive and patience. Lot of parking lot, swimming pool available, badminton, basketball. Etc. Lot of activities.

Positive experience: The work out gym is a good size but the other gym is too busy to be able to play anything. The main reason we bought a membership was so we could join the gym sports (badminton, pickleball) but it is impossible to play because they only have three nets and the same people are playing for the entire time so there is no chance for anyone else to play.

Negative experience: Wouldn't cancel my membership via email during the pandemic shutdowns, made multiple requests for this and they assured me they would. Ended up paying over $300 for a gym I didn't want to use.

Fantastic experience: Wow what a lovely facility! Beautiful inside and out. I work at the Y in Ontario and we stopped here on our way through NB and it was very clean and super friendly staff. The staff that greeted us, I believe her name was Mary was so lovely and showed us around. You can tell she is very proud of the facility. We will definitely come back if we are in town again!
