Fantastic experience: I really enjoy being a member at this gym. Facility is huge! Lots of space and equipment choices. Could be 70 people in the gym but I'm still not waiting to use equipment I want. Find the staff friendly and welcoming. Trainers are super positive and great to interact with. Feels more like friends and family than staff. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member at this location since it opened! I love how big it is and all the amenities; steam rooms & saunas, group fitness, yoga, massage chairs. We are always greeted with a smile and a “have a good workout”. Staff are always around if you have any questions or concerns that need to be addressed!

Negative experience: Terrible staff. Often there will be two or three employees standing at the front counter and none of them will greet you or even look at you. These people are the face of the gym and the first point of contact and their customer service levels are nonexistent. That is unless you walk in with your good looking girlfriend and the guys try chatting her up until they see you... Management should be enforcing higher standards of their employees but unfortunately they're right there with them.

Fantastic experience: I was blown away that Goodlife was honored to have Rob Hanrieder work as a yoga instructor at this club. His preparation, authenticity, and instruction go above and beyond the quality of yoga instructors I’ve ever been led by at a corporate facility. I will rearrange my life to be able to attend his classes. September 26 2024, marks a very sad day for me, and all of his students, as he is moving on from Goodlife to pursue his career in other areas. I will drive wherever I have to in the future to be able to continue to be led by him, however, I will remain extremely hopeful in Goodlife being able to get him back at a future date to instruct again at this facility. He will be missed beyond words, and Goodlife was very very lucky to have had him work there for 1.5 years.

Positive experience: Most favourite GL I've been to in a reallllly long time. When I'm ever in red deer I always fit in a workout here Only thing you guys are missing would be a hot tub/ cold plunge

Positive experience: This Gym has two of the worst squat machines and hack squat. Somehow zero shoulder press. Disappointing but kettle bells made up for it. Not many but luckily nice and heavy.

Negative experience: They had a raffle in April For Goodlife Kids Foundation and I did purchase a lot of tickets to help. I was told I won 2 prizes and yet they only gave me one. I wonder where my other prize went. I ask 3 diff staff already and they keep telling that someone will call me or will deal with it on Mon. But no one called and it's been more than a month now. It's just so unfair to regular people like us who don't deserve that kind of treatment. I just wish the management do not take this small things like this pass.

Positive experience: Started at this gym last week and I am really enjoying it. All the trainers and employees have been really nice and you can tell they just want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable.Which is great obviously!.Reasonable priced too for everything you can get. A couple punching bags would be a great addition someday.Great place so far. Update : Been here now for a month. Still a great gyms. However they do need more water stations spread out. Have had my machine taken on me while going to refill. Also the Ninja fit area is useless and needs to be removed for something useful. A lot of machines that are mostly useless taking up space. Could be replaced with more leg machines. Only machines I seem to have to wait to use as they are very busy. Saying all this I still think it’s a good gym and the employees are still awesome.

Negative experience: Customer service was horrible, all they care about is money. Asked for a day pass, charging $25?!. Go to Motion Fitness instead, they give you a free day pass if you’ve never been there and they actually give you a tour and treat you like a real person. Never coming back.

Negative experience: Pay $120 a month for slow wifi. They intentionally slow it down for everyone, even though you’re a paying $120 a month. You need to use a VPN to get around it. Please fix. Towels are also the size of wash cloths.

Fantastic experience: I Haven’t tried other gyms but I know people that have, and they’ve came back here to GoodLife. Theres so much room, an abundance of machines and free weights and having the sauna and steam room is a huge bonus.

Fantastic experience: Super friendly when I signed up, did a follow-up call after a week to make sure I was happy still. Huge facility, could probably fit half the Edmonton or Calgary ones inside. Clean any time I've been there, although you can tell how many other people are using a shower by the pressure. Lots of machine variety and enough squat racks to make Mark Rippetoe shed a tear of joy.

Fantastic experience: Just the best Gym in town! The personal trainer Alexx Seguin is fantastic, very knowledgeable and professional, she always motivates you to give the best of you at the time of the trainings. All staff are great specially Isoline at the front desk, always friendly and smiling! Perfect place for “you” time!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training in Goodlife Fitness for almost 8 months now, The facility is awesome they have the most experienced & committed trainers and staffs around. I started training three times a week, I really enjoyed the spacious and good ambiance of the gym and a personal one-on-one session as well! Coleman (my trainer) is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging and fun. My fitness has increased noticeably and I’ve seen improvements in my ability to lift more weights, build muscles, do core exercises, lose weight and generally push myself harder throughout each session. I find I actually look forward to my workouts. He ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries. He is extremely reliable & punctual - always set up and ready to start training ahead of time, with an exercise outline planed. I would recommend Coleman and Melanie’s (Manager) team to anyone looking to improve their fitness with a dedicated group of trainers and superb gym facilities.

Positive experience: This place is awesome truly! Nevermind having several newer cardio options(such as the best stair... anything I've ever found as old stair master machines I wasn't heavy enough to push down but with these stair climbers it works great and seriously affects your booty.... & with so many different machines, rowers, rope pulls, drags and several large areas for doing free weights. As a dynamic workout is usually better than just cardio or a limited workout w/ weight machines that can restrict how far you move & get the full effect etc. But I had a transplant & 10+ Major abdominal surgeries. So weighted machines with their limits are better for me to stay safe to help give me more variations, esp for work on abs etc that I can do without getting, hurt or ripping stitches out of my mesh. So like their Oblique Twister ab machines are awesome, I can use that stops me from losing control, over stretching but is one of the few ab machines I can use. Its soo good I may just go in and do as many reps on that as I humanly can in 30min +. Then do some hot yoga for a quick workout. It's great they have tanning which is awesome there as its convenient &you don't have to buy minutes & all the stuff @Fabutan that's so pricey. Theres HOT YOGA which feels amazing & can be included in your membership fees or bought on a single class basis. I always sit in the steam room or sauna and then the massage chairs before I leave, There's many group fitness classes like Yoga, Zumba, Kickboxing and more workouts or spin classes in the spin area. PLUS The ninja area that's like an obstacle course, even a separate gym area for women who are too self-conscious yet to work out in front of others & men.. & All I can say is there's definitely enough squat racks and equipment to make even you weirdos who LIKE leg day happy . It's got everything I can think of wanting In a gym PLUS MORE (never thought of tanning at the gym & i dont usually fake n bake but in the depressingly long winter its not a bad idea to get some VIT D) they've got except for a Pool & Hot tub but there is a sauna or steam room in each change room to make up for it. So with everything else offered there and the great customer service totally makes up for it & considering some of the other gyms are way expensive & offer way less the price is reasonable & they don't try locking you into a contract you can't EVER get out of. Like you could have your legs cut off and your upper body paralyzed & yet Global Health or SpaLady etc they would still call 3 times a day looking for money LOL

Negative experience: Very disappointed with GoodLife. I started going for personal training sessions prior to COVID as part of my PTSD and Depression treatments in a hope of getting better mentally and physically. I ended up getting sick and needed surgery as COVID hit which put EVERYTHING off and now after two years post COVID, I received both surgeries I needed and am healthy enough to start working out again. I called to reschedule my remaining prepaid TWENTY ONE (21) sessions with a personal trainer ($3000+ value) to only be told that they were expired and to bad so sad, but hey we can schedule you for a free one time session with a personal trainer. Very disheartening everything that has happened and to lose out on over $3000 to the conglomerate like GoodLife Fitness. Never will I recommend them or any of their subsidiaries to anyone, put your money into yourself and small local businesses. A very hard lesson learned.

Negative experience: Some the staff is not extremely unpleasant and unprofessional especially some of the greaters. Also the equipment is not maintained properly some are broken for weeks even months and they say that there maintenance man is there every week but takes for ever to fix the manger seems not to care about the facility

Negative experience: They really need to work on their customer service, I've been having an issue with my membership, and it seems nobody cares to fix it. I get told someone will contact me and never do , or I have to call or come in and the same circle of lies . It's getting trying . I might just stop going all together. I know they probably won't care for one person. Stop going to their place, but good life, you left a bad taste. Cause I don't think this problem is going to be fixed soon and tired of endless circle of " oh they're not in right now , but I'll get them to call you!". The sad part is when I came in, your manager brushed me off, and she told him to tell me you she wasnt in when your own staff outted you when you're standing beside him, lol. Instead of trying to sell me products, just fix the problem. Side note, your fitness advisers need help too. It's not professional to try to sell someone and then disrespect the person you're trying to get something from them . I have thanks for judging me on my fitness level without even listening to me asking me, cause you think you already know the answers to. And have two advisors having a conversation about themselves while I sit there, listen to you guys, talk, and waste my time. Good on you! I thought I would write this cause it's better to get it off my chest and then keep it , so if someone actually wants to know the surroundings are in this place , this way, my view. I don't expect a reply cause you can't do the last four times. I've taken the time to deal with it. What's going to change?

Negative experience: Beware! The agreed price (with witnesses to attest to this) is NOT what I was charged monthly. I was charged almost double for many months. AND on top of that AFTER being overcharged GoodLife let somebody that I have never met add themself to my account and charge their gym membership to MY bank account. Will never step foot in there again.

Negative experience: Great unless you want to cancel. Took 3 months just to get a refund and cancellation. You have to watch your account and if you call in they tell you to email. Which when you email they tell you give them 3-5 days to respond which they don’t. So then I sent another one after 5 days and then I get the same response. So I call again and get told to email. It’s a massive scam just to make it nearly impossible to easily get what your supposed to

Fantastic experience: This place is perfect. I only go to Red Deer once every few months, but I hate missing out on my workouts so I thought I’d try this place out and it was so worth it! There is tons of space, tons of equipment, and if you go at the right time, you’re not forced to “work in”. I loved it. I just wish it cost less for a drop-in!

Fantastic experience: The facility was very clean and weights all put away. One shower did not have a shampoo dispenser but other than that the staff were friendly and it has anything you could ever need for a great workout.
Negative experience: Good until cancelling. Gave months notice due to moving for university on a budget, and they started recharging halfway through the year - 3 months after fully cancelling my membership - knocking an entire month of groceries off my student loans. No email replies for over 20 days. Calling does nothing. Horrible.

Fantastic experience: I have been to a lot of gyms and I must say... red deer Goodlife is by far my favorite! 1. Lets talk about Mel at the front desk! she always have that bright smile- welcoming demioniore , friendly, outgoing and personable personality! She is very good at what she does- something that needed to be recognized! and with all the friendly staff of course. 2. Cleanliness! Red Deer Goodlife is by far the most clean facility I have ever step foot in! Thank you Anna and the other gentleman - I don't remember his name lol I'm sorry. Red Deer Goodlife sure stand behind your policy when it comes to the cleanliness. 3. Malcolm - trainer - extremely knowledgeable when it comes to fitness training, he knows what he is talking about! I have the privileged to sit with him for an hour for consult and I have learned a lot within that time. highly recommended trainer! Thank you Red Deer Goodlife- manager and staff for setting up the bar high for other facility to be envious.

Negative experience: The gym is great, I’ve been a member about two months and go pretty much every night. The low review is due to Good Life not coming through on their pitch when I signed up. As a new member you’re supposed to get a trainer show you the gym and do a session with you to help reacquaint to the gym. They’re pretty friendly when you’re signing up but as soon as you become a member you’re on your own there.

Fantastic experience: Great Gym! Awesome staff! Every time I enter the building I feel like I'm coming home with the warm welcomes I receive from the front staff! Like they actually know my name! I'm not just a number for them! I'm terrible with names!! There's always a staff member around if you have a question or need a spotter. Not knowing many people in red deer it was a great! It helped me feel comfortable knowing I had someone I could rely on when I didn't know anyone there. They treated me as if we had been friends for years!! Awesome place Highly recommend! If your new to town and need a place to feel like you fit in this is the place for you! There are so many different areas of this gym and classes you can attend! I always worried that if I went to a gym I was going to be surrounded by big muscle jocks high on roids which was a little intimidating but its not like that here at all! everyone I have meet here is more than willing to help or give pointers to help you out especially if you are new. Great job! Its the attitude of the staff that have created a great culture with its members making this a great place to work out and feel comfortable doing it.

Positive experience: I’d give it 4 or 5 stars but the frequency of membership payments are not favourable. Staff is great, personal trainers are nice also. However, if you want to sign up, I do not recommend the free assessment as the personal training manager, Flavia, will automatically sign you up for personal training whether you want it or not. If you’re on a budget, you will be financially overwhelmed. Nice clean environment, front desk staff are great, personal trainers are great. But in my experience, not affordable in the long-term

Positive experience: 1. I’m from Red Der, and I’ve been to this gym since 2018. I have yet to see many changes or addition in terms of new modern equipment. They have to buy new chests, shoulders, and legs ( Hack squat machine). Please keep updated with the latest technological machine as we see other gyms they have in 2023. 2. The steam room smells really bad due to the rotten ( Fully saturated) woody benches inside. It needs to be replaced with GRP, plastic, or cement benches, as seen in other gyms. 3. Need to figure out why the Water Fountains are not cold? I just found that the one by the Ninja room is cold ( Only one out of 3 or four fountains) 4. Staff are excellent and super friendly and will do their best to make your training go well. Please take these comments into consideration as we love this gym and wish the best for it ( Please don't reply to this review by suggesting me to write an email or call customer services as this is not my job and this is the management's job)

Fantastic experience: Best gym out there. Staff is absolutely amazing, always somebody there to wish you a good workout. I’ve never had to wait for a machine. Women’s only room is also a really nice addition. Very happy with my experience I’ve had within the last 4 months. I recommend this gym to anybody!

Negative experience: This place has been garbage to deal with. I was on a membership through work, when we canceled they charged my work am extra month and have now continued to charge me even after the management told me they would make sure it was taken care of. I have spoken to multiple people now who have had the same issue. Yesterday, they pulled 4 payments even though it was supposed to be canceled. They are a rip off and obviously can not be trusted.

Positive experience: There’s a good variety of equipment, but still find myself waiting for a bench in the free weights area for both women’s only area and the coed area. The women’s only area is nice to have, and well used, but seems neglected by staff. Often missing things, out of cleaner, and never seems fully cleaned. Equipment is dusty and there’s always hair on the floor my shoes pick up. There is always at least one tv not working. There are only 2 private change rooms in the dressing room, and the light in one has been out for at least 6 weeks now, so is this never check on or cleaned or maintained?

Negative experience: They have the worst benches to ever be manufactured. A piece of lumber would be more comfortable and you wouldn't slip off it too every time you lay down. Either then that great gym. But I beg truly to replace the bench's
Fantastic experience: Visiting family in Lacombe and came to this Goodlife for the first time... good size gym, everything I used seemed to be in good shape! Staff I interacted with were friendly! No complaints here!

Negative experience: The trainers and staff at this location are incredibly aggressive. They consistently try to force you into paying for their personal trainers which are outrageously priced. It's not a very welcoming environment and I didn't feel comfortable going. I was also under the impression that I canceled my membership but continued to be debited for several months without ever stepping foot in the gym again. Would not recommend.

Negative experience: I keep getting charged a gym fee months after I stoped going and told the front staff I was not going to go there anymore, I then emailed twice stating I am not going there and would like my money back but I am still being charged a gym fee

Negative experience: WHY has Goodlife not reverted back to open 24 hours?? Or at MINIMUM have same hours on weekends as weekdays. Goodlife has not decreased fees yet has decreased quality of service with these shortened hours. There is ZERO reason for this. OPEN 24 HRS!! There are many people who work shift work, pay their memberships but cannot workout? It's pathetic.

Fantastic experience: My experience at good life has been very rewarding.. This place has changed my life in just a short time... Ive been overweight since I was a teen.. I got bigger and bigger as the time went on.. I was struggling with depression, not giving myself the quality that I deserved... I started working out thur the city of reddeer.. It was going well, but I needed more. NOW LETS TALK ABOUT GOODLIFE!!! First off, I wanna say how they treat there clients.. They are always complimenting, which makes me feel good walking in there.. This facility is the biggest gym I have ever seen in person.. They have everything you would ever need to achieve that body you dream for... I've been able to crush my goals in know time, since i start... Which was just over 2months ago.. I was 208 then now 193 today... I had a personal trainer give me some very powerful knowledge.. Since then, Its melting off of me... btw, you know who you are.. I can't thank you enough for taking ur time to educate me... It's not about getting a better body... It's about building a mindset that is capable

Fantastic experience: I just signed up and am experienced in gym facilities and I am loving it here! Every staff member I have encountered has been helpful and absolutely lovely:) I feel at ease coming in to workout and receive motivation from the staff while I am there.

Fantastic experience: It's the best gym ever!! I have been to many many gyms all over Alberta, not just goodlife. Lots and lots of space and parking spots, open 24hrs. This is the best gym by far!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful gym with wonderful staff Nad, Nick, Brooke, Ray and Steph ☺️all very helpful kind and friendly and very supportive to your journey to better health and fitness/rehabilitation or strengthening and I was really thrilled with all they have to offer such as showers and a private area for women to work out and it's the best gym in my opinion!! Fantastic experience: This is the biggest GoodLife I've ever been to. I heard it is, or was, the biggest in Canada, and I don't doubt it. They have a large selection of equipment and I've only had to wait for something maybe twice in my 2 years going here (9AM-12PM). Large green space and adjacent pull-up/squat rig for HIIT workouts, separate areas for spin, hot yoga, body pump. I've never seen anybody use the ninja space, and would love to see something more useful put in there. No regrets signing up here, totally worth the membership fee.

Negative experience: Gym facilities are nice, diverse and clean. However, our experience with Goodlife was only months of headaches due to their lack of staff communication, skill and service. Not only was I being double charged for membership, but my account was closed because of it (due to their technical error). Even though we alerted them to the issue early on and on multiple occasions (both in-person and over the phone) to attempt to have it resolved, they never followed through on their “promise to call back tomorrow”. Not ONCE. Each staff member that we spoke to was friendly but would only shift blame to another staff member. After finally getting through to head office, they grudgingly agreed to reinstate my membership and pause it through the summer months while we were away. Excited to return to the gym and have all that behind us, we once again showed up to find my membership closed and now my husband's as well. They took no blame once again for this technical error and refused to reinstate either of our memberships without us once again paying the enrollment fee. This has honestly been one of the worst customer experiences we have ever had. I work in both the service and healthcare field myself and know the struggles that come along with these professions. But there is no excuse for the poor service we received, as it only ever came down to their technical and staff errors. We always paid on time, we were level headed and kind throughout, we communicated repeatedly but they obviously had no interest in retaining us as customers.

Fantastic experience: Went here for a year since I worked in Red Deer for that long. Best GoodLife I’ve been to. Quite spacious and rarely do I wait for equipment. Their layout is good- with machines on one side of the gym and another on the other side if it’s taken. Weights are appropriately put back typically. The front desk staff are really cool and friendly. AND they remember you, not like other GoodLifes where they just glance at you. I wish other GoodLifes were like this one. Good job in making me miss this one

Fantastic experience: The staff is Super friendly! Everyone is so helpful there is a tone of equipment. Usually I stick to the women's only section but i kow ill make my out into the main area one day. I love that I can do a virtual class since my work schedule doesn't work with the gyms classes, so I don't feel like I'm missing out .

Fantastic experience: Super friendly staff! Very helpful. Good variety of equipment. Originally I thought I'd be too scared/intimidated to work out in the big gym area (usually I stick to the women's only section) but the gym go-ers are all polite and there's a good vibe for sure!

Negative experience: Watch your automatic charges people!! I had a membership at Goodlife for several years. It was a good membership, I added my daughter to my membership so we both had the benefits of it. Upon cancelling my Goodlife membership, I was charged one final month as notice is required. Imagine my surprise when 6 months later, they were automatically charging my card for my daughter's membership! I called and was informed that I didn't have authorization to cancel her membership, as she was an adult. Even though I added her to my membership and had authorization to freeze it during the pandemic . . . . I requested a refund of the charge, and was told no, that is not their policy. I suppose they will want one months notice for this as well. Watch your automatic payments with Goodlife.

Negative experience: Unable to take advantage of the 24 hour membership I pay for as this facility is not operating at its advertised hours. Covid is over, get back to 24 hours. We don't all work 9-5. This Google business listing states the facility is open until 2030 on Sundays. As a night shift worker I woke up early from my rest, raced to this facility a full hour and a half before the posted closing time, gym attire on and pre-workout consumed only to find the facility completely closed. Unacceptable.

Negative experience: I have supported this gym for about 5 years. During covid, I followed the hour changes, the last minute closures, workout 1 hour appointments and everything else they mandated and put into place. This last week I broke my leg and I am unable to walk at this time and probably for about 4-6 more months and guess what, they won’t support you through your struggles. I could not get my membership frozen without charge, even though there’s no way I can physically go to a gym. There was nothing done for me. There is no point in supporting a gym that will not support you back, it’s as simple as that. After my recovery, I will be joining a gym that cares about its members. I used to enjoy this gym very much, but knowing their values and how they treat their customers, even in crisis, I will be looking elsewhere to invest my money into.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for over 2 years and I doubt I'll go to any other gym. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, I will honestly say that I sometimes stop by and chat with them before and after my workouts. Trainers are the same thing and if you need advice on something they are always there to help unless there with clients lol. The whole gym area is clean and there's always different areas you can go to such as a bike area, ninja fitness, squat racks, deadlift area, etc... Also included is showers, sauna, tanning, massage chairs and and steam room as well as lockers and its open 24/7 Honestly I don't plan on leaving this gym for any other, its pretty awesome
Negative experience: The reason I switched gym because of the steam room even the membership is 55% more expensive than others. Considering the facility is kind of new in Alberta but steam room at men's wash room is always down. It is down since 1st week of January 2020 and until now it is not fixed. Staff are nice and hard working but bad management/leadership on fixing equipment.

Positive experience: Decent Gym, The ninja fit section is fun, but after covid 19, we ran into a billing issue when they resumed billing without giving me any notification. Foreword: This issue is not at the club level, but at the corporate level. I was billed for 5 months without attending the gym once. I asked for a refund and they admitted they were not able to help out... but they were willing to move my payments forward as credits. I felt this represented company integrity. Glad there was a reasonable resolution for both parties.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful (and HUGE) facility with an amazing variety of classes! The hot yoga, spin, and group fitness classes are great with incredible instructors. It also has amazing extras with the virtual fitness options, a women's only area, and the NinjaFit gym! There's so much to explore and play around with to keep workouts exciting and fun.
