Fantastic experience: I attend here 3 or 4 days a week for weight training. I work with a personal trainer (Alvin!) who is fantastic at what he does. This was he first gym i walked into and ended up signing up not long after. I felt the good vibes immediately from the manager Manny to all the staff. I don't use the pool/bball court or much cardio so can't comment on that but they have everything needed for weight training.

Fantastic experience: My trainer is Alexandra Bayne and I can't recommend her enough. She is friendly, easy going, and really enjoys teaching her clients about fitness and often trains other trainers. You always learn something new about human movement and mobility after each session with her. She helped me resolve long standing pain and was always accommodating around lifestyle matters. She truly seeks to motivate and inspire clientele. Her motto is "you should enjoy working out!", which is another reason I extended my contract. It's about moving at your own pace without an unhealthy push that may lead to injuries or unhealthy self image. As an introvert, her down to Earth nature is a relief - we often talk about cats, which I am sure would be appreciated by many. Anyone who is relatively nervous making it into a gym, intimidated by social situations, or even freak out by professional training, this is the trainer for you. She builds confidence and muscle and treats you like a friend rather than a client. You'll always leave feeling a little lighter after a workout. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: Really small, not many equipments for a proper workout. They do have kettle bells which worked out for me…but for those looking for a traditional workout it didn’t seem like they had enough variety of workout equipment…but I could also be mistaken because there was an upstairs that I didn’t check out…if it was upstairs then the layout needs to be changed in that gym or better signs to make things more clear for people visiting the gym for the first time.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with Eric at GoodLife Fitness. His poor customer service left me feeling frustrated and unvalued as a member. Eric was unhelpful, dismissive, and showed little interest in addressing my concerns. I was so put off by the way he handled the situation that I seriously considered canceling my membership. As a long-time member, I expect better treatment and professionalism from the staff. This experience has made me rethink my loyalty to GoodLife, and I hope management takes action to improve the level of service provided.

Fantastic experience: Had a great work out at Goodlife Centrum , location is always clean and offers a variety of free weight and machine equipment to use. Location is smaller then some other spots and does fill up , get there early and finish strong

Fantastic experience: This gym, is one I would go out of my way for. The atmosphere, cleanliness, serious lifters, modern and working equipment. It's one of the higher end goodlife's and definitely comes clutch since it's 24/7.

Fantastic experience: Have been a member of this specific location since 2020, and I’ve only got good things to say. Staff are friendly, equipment is organized, change rooms are very clean and the gym itself is very large and spacious. Anytime I have had any issues regarding my membership, whether this be pausing my membership, cancelling it or signing up again, the staff have always been extremely accommodating and patient. Customer service has never been an issue in my 4 years at the gym. Highly recommend the gym, it is easily the nicest GoodLife I have been to, a close second would be the Markham VIP one, however, that location is significantly smaller.

Fantastic experience: Over all great gym. Lots of machines and room to work with. Steam room is amazing. Fantastic experience: As someone who used to work at GoodLife for over 6 years, and now have a member’s perspective, I can confidently say that this location is one of the most well-kept and well-staffed locations I have been to. While this location is not the closest to where I live, it has quickly become my “home location” as I really enjoy the people (both members and staff) that frequent here. Fantastic experience: This is not my home gym but I decided to do personal training at the Whitby location. Absolutely thrilled with my experience working with Dylan C. From the very first session, their passion and expertise were evident. They took the time to understand my goals, create a personalized fitness plan, and motivate me every step of the way. Their attention to detail in form and technique has not only already improved my strength and endurance but also significantly boosted my confidence. Negative experience: I love this gym only because of the basketball court. It was unique being the only GoodLife with a court. Now they’re changing it to a personal training area to feed their pockets even more. Thinking about canceling my membership and going elsewhere. They should leave the court up and have drop-in ball times on specific days of the week and the other dates can be for outdoor PT. Why can there not be a compromise? I have talked to many individuals who will be cancelling as well. Please don’t get rid of the ball court. My rating would be an easy 5 stars if it was staying.

Positive experience: Good facility and good selection of equipment, classes, plus free parking. Staff are generally good and the gym is very clean. The only major issue is that your belongings will get stolen from the lockers and management has known about this problem for a while. It’s because swim classes are open to non-members who get to use a back door to the lockers and change rooms so it’s open access to the public. This is a major safety issue and multiple thefts have been reported to the police already. Management needs to stop these classes and focus on the safety and security of members who already pay expensive fees to be here. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: One of the best GoodLife locations I’ve been to. Lots of natural light, space and varied equipment. Staff are friendly, and the outdoor basketball court will soon become an outdoor workout area - which I think is great!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this specific location for just over a year now. Very friendly environment! Staff are always amazing and helpful. Great sized gym, has all the equipment you need, plus more. Personal trainers are very approachable. Open 24 hours, which allows you to fit the gym into your busy schedule at any time. I prefer this Goodlife over the others in the area.

Positive experience: The gym over all is a decent place, get get pretty dirty at times and the garbage builds up in the steam room and change rooms, my biggest thing is people shouldn’t be allowed to record with camera’s while in the gym, for me it makes me feel very uncomfortable, and I don’t want part of their video even if it’s in the back ground, you should ban people from being allowed to record videos with tripods

Negative experience: This location is decent, but some staff members are disrespectful and unorganized. I brought my younger brother in to get the 3-day pass in April. The staff member at the front told us he could not provide the 3-day pass because the "system wouldn't allow him," so he gave my brother a 1-day pass. He made it clear we could just come back during the weekday mornings to obtain the 3-day pass. Due to personal reasons, my brother could not return to Goodlife until recently to receive the 3-day pass. The staff members at the front were unwilling to help us from the get-go. As soon as we walked in to get the pass for my brother, Sarah, who is apparently the manager of this location gave us such a hard time. She said we had to go online to obtain the 3-day pass, which is a lie because the 3-day pass can be obtained in person (my dad received one in April). Additionally, for us to spend our time/gas driving 15 minutes to the gym just to be told to go back home and wait a few days for Goodlife to reach out with the 3-day pass just for my brother to access the gym is ridiculous. After some back and forth, Sarah said she couldn't even give my brother the 3-day pass because he used the 1-day pass in April. I clarified that in April, her colleague told us we could come back to obtain the 3-day pass because the system did not allow him to do so. Sarah told us we were lied to, this was not their policy, and she could do nothing to help. She was also disrespectful and made it seem like it was our fault, asking, "Why did it take you so long from April to come now?" "I might have been able to help if you had come sooner." As if people don't have personal matters going on in their lives. Why is it her business or even an issue that my brother couldn't attend the gym for two months? She would not try to meet us in the middle, even though a Goodlife member had provided us with the wrong information.The only other alternative was paying $28 for a day pass (which is more than what I pay biweekly, mind you). After going back and forth trying to ask her to make an exception for us due to something her OWN employee did to deceive us, she did nothing to help. What makes this situation more disappointing is that, as a manager, she never once apologized to us for something a Goodlife staff messed up on. Even if you can't help, as a manager, you should have empathy and at least say sorry. All she told us was, "Good luck." She was also whispering with her coworkers, obviously about us, due to the glances they were giving. This behaviour is unprofessional, and for a so-called manager to act this immature is a bit concerning. We also overheard one of the employees say, "They are going to stand here until 1 pm". This was an ignorant comment because their misinformation and unwillingness to help required us to take a moment and decide what we had to do. Eventually, we had to resort to going back home and using my corporate discount to get my brother a membership, a step we would have taken if we had not been misled in the first place. We wasted a bunch of time and gas going back and forth. I hesitate to label the manager's behaviour as racist, but her attitude and assumptions did make us feel a little uncomfortable. She kept making assumptions and showed zero care about how upset we were. This entire incident was so infuriating and stressful. I don't want to say this is a Goodlife issue because there are other amazing staff members and I love working out here. But to the few that we had to deal with in this situation: stop lying to clients and misinforming them and then gaslighting them with, "This is a policy." Being honest and transparent to clients should be added to your policy then! From now on, I will ask permission to record any conversations I have with staff because if this occurs again, legal action will be taken.

Negative experience: Was loving this gym until me and I had to cancel my membership. Called to cancel and was told it was cancelled but then they took money out of my account. Called back and they said I never cancelled it I froze it. So they continued to cancel it but now I’m being charged again for the membership I’m not using. This is ridiculous and a waste. Over 80$ being taken for something I can’t use. Will not go here again.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service here Called in ahead to confirm if I could get a free day pass to check out this gym and sign up with advisor since I read a lot of good reviews about it. Person over the phone confirmed and stated if I didn’t visit this particular GoodLife in the past year then I can get it. I come all the way from Toronto and get denied a day pass by this tall white guy. Told me he doesn’t know who misinformed me over the phone but as long as I visited any GoodLife in the past year then I’m not eligible for a free day pass - scanned my pass and laughs saying I visited GoodLife 8 days ago. I replied it was a gym tour and he goes “was it really a tour?” Insinuating I’m lying. ♂️ Not only that but the Convo stopped there. No further assistance. Goes back to folding towels. Like hello?? I’m still here. I had to ask him- so can I at least get a tour? He said I have to wait for the advisor - didn’t even bother letting the advisor know I’m waiting for him and giving me an ETA. Idk who hired this man but he has 0 customer service skills, 0 social skills, and doesn’t understand business at all. Definitely not signing up here. What a waste of time.

Negative experience: I had a negative experience with your sales team, particularly with Chris. I requested a 3-day trial at the gym and planned to buy a membership afterward. However, I was later told that my trial was only valid for one day, despite Chris saying otherwise. Another employee mentioned that Chris wasn't even authorized to offer trial memberships after hours. When I asked about customer service, the staff's response was rude and dismissive, indicating that they didn't value customer satisfaction. This behavior suggests unethical practices, and I hope this issue is addressed promptly.

Fantastic experience: Very helpful staff, and very positive atmosphere, and always open 24-7. Perfect for your home/work/life balance. They also have an amazing personal training staff, I would recommend this place as it has a pool,steam room and hot tub! Perfect to go and work out then relax and take it easy. If your looking for the perfect gym I would highly suggest this one!

Negative experience: Update review Insane location: They changed their response of their initial reply. I won’t enter their game of their broken system. I got them on the phone which the employee said it was fine and the liability waiver was not mandatory in my case. They don’t treat customers well including the manager and staffs of this location. (Never got issues about a piece of paper with other Goodlife locations). They don’t know about quality and customer services. There are so many other gym (cheaper or more expensive depending on the amenities you want) they will treat you better and at least their communications are consistent not like here that change from a location to another. The other gyms don’t ask me to provide such detailed personal info just for checking in the facility. Completely absurd. — I’m not new to GoodLife Fitness and have been to several in GTA. They have never obligated us to sign-off a liability waiver to simply visit the facility. I would understand if we wanted the free workout but I found it insane that you ask for my ID, names, email address, residential home address, phone number to simply check out your equipment and discover your available amenities. So, the manager gave me this liability waiver to fill out where in the disclaimers clearly mentioned for exercise/ workout visit. I asked if I needed to fill out this waiver even if I don’t intent to do any workout but wanted to simply look at the equipment and verify the type of spa you have. She said yes. And the worst part is his colleague/ employee said that it’s for security purposes in case you steal something - excuse me? Did I hear well?! I am not a client yet that you dare consider me as a thief?! Mostly the tour would have been with someone from Goodlife and that this Liability waiver said nowhere about security purposes due to thieves. Very bad way of treating potential customers. I asked the manager can I please see your policy that the liability waiver is truly require for a simple visit of the facility. She randomly shared an internal page (Sharepoint intranet information not visible to public) about the liability waiver where it was clearly mentioned for a workout and other details but for PROSPECTIVE MEMBER the liability waiver was not required! I told her it’s written there on her internal page. She replied that this is not negotiable and that she won’t let me in without that guest liability waiver. And requested me to show my ID to verify the information. Inside that leaflet they ask for personal health questions. This is too much information for a simple look at the facility. None of the previous Goodlife fitness or other gym clubs ever asked me so much personal information for simply checking the facility!! I would understand if I requested to try and use their 3 day passes or 1 week pass whatever. It wasn’t the case!! I just wanted to check the equipment and amenities they have. Even in their official Goodlife website it says they need the guest liability waiver to be signed off for a free workout but nowhere it says it is required to see the facility. And completely out of topic. This manager said things like ‘this is a private property’ ‘I am the manager here and if you want to enter you must fill out the guest liability waiver’, what does it has to be with me asking are you sure this is required for a simple visit?! Mostly because none of the other fitness locations (including the other Fitness Goodlife) or other sport activities (private too) ask all this personal information to check out the facility.

Also, you can buzz for entry between 11pm to 4am to gain access. Fantastic experience: Love this location! Everything is new and up-to-date. There’s a turf, three different exercise rooms a cycling space lots of machines and free weights. There’s also a pool and steam room (that’s works!) and a basketball court that’s outdoors but still awesome. Big shoutout to Colin who went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed to get my workout in - strongly recommend this location for both amenities and staff.

Positive experience: THEFT IN THE LOCKER ROOM I joined GoodLife fitness about 7 months ago good , happy with it . But last Saturday between 5pm -6pm , I got my credit card and debit card stolen from my locker . Which I did not have a lock on . I started getting calls texts to my phone about transactions that weren’t mine . I reported the theft to the front desk of what had happened, I asked the person at the front desk is this happening a lot , “he said recently yes “ . so why aren’t the management here more proactive , on making ppl aware there is an up take in theft in the locker room I see one tiny poster up about locking ur locker . There extremely quick to send us all emails about all the latest promotions. Why can’t they send us an email to be more aware about our belongings as there is an up take in stealing at the gyms locker room . I think we deserve to know as patrons of the gym we choose to go too , should at least , let every one know that walks through that door that recently there is an up take in theft at the gym .

Fantastic experience: I just renewed my membership & bought some training sessions with Alex. I'm really looking forward to getting back into shape again. I quit going when the pandemic arrived & never got back to it. I love using the pool & hot tub, which are usually quite empty. I feel confident my trainer will be able to teach me to challenge myself without hurting myself and help me regain the mobility I've lost due to arthritis. Positive experience: Variety of equipment with tons of space. Can get busy a peak times but the wait is never longer than five minutes. Great community and wonderful reception staff. My only complaint is - it can get a little dirty but that can be expected within a busy 24h gym.

Positive experience: Decent gym that is well maintained, with a good amount of weight lifting equipment along with cardio machines. The steam room is great as well. Prices are quite high now that would be my only complaint. Plenty of parking and an outdoor basketball court!

Fantastic experience: After attending this location for the past year, I am convinced this is the best good life location!! It has 2 levels and the cleanliness that the workers keep is really really good compared to other 24h locations. Plenty of machines and not too overly busy. The amenities including pool are great. Try this spot versus other ones… it’s huge and 24h!! Also lots of other females, and a private female room which is a big big plus for me.

Fantastic experience: After checking out a ton of different gyms in the area, I can firmly say that this is the nicest one in Whitby. It's clean, has great equipment, and the staff is incredibly nice and welcoming. The only feedback I'd give is that I'd probably spend decent money on a good protein shake if they sold them/ had a booster Juice attached. That being said, I can't fault them for not having a service that's not part of their core business model.

Positive experience: Even though I never been or visit this gym before even as a special needs man. I assure most people must respect all special needs men and women working out in the gym. This explains why I do not tolerate anyone disrespecting or criticizing special needs men and women.
Fantastic experience: I joined goodlife less then a month ago - This has to be one of the better gym environments in the area! Great staff, especially short Eric at the front desk. The club is very clean and weights organized (re-racked) thanks to the hard working staff that I've had the pleasure of meeting, Emily and Justin! You are both outstanding and goodlife is lucky to have you. I would recommend this club without hesitation, unless you workout after 6pm

Fantastic experience: Since joining over a month ago, I have not been disappointed with this facility. It is clean and well kept, from the pool, hot tub, locker rooms women's fitness area to when you walk in to the facility. I have reached my first goal. Yay! However, it is due in part to the kind, caring and encouraging staff, Manny, Colin, Emile and Whitney. There have been some quite challenging days for me and Whitney in particular has been my daily dose of encouragement. Some days just talking to her gave me the strength to keep moving forward. I am grateful for each of them.

Negative experience: Gym is usually fairly busy, it hard to get on the equipment, facilities are often not working, steamroom has been out of service now for almost a month with no info on when it will be working again.

Negative experience: Really bad experience in terms of membership account. The staff are friendly, some of them, but I've been trying to reach the manager for months now! I canceled my membership but they reopened it and are making me pay for it. It's not alot of money, just 140$ but considering im a student i can't afford it. I've recently got a letter from a lawyer saying i have to pay or action will be taken. I've been trying to get in contact with these people but they're ignoring me. Would really advise everyone to be cautious and keep your cancelation papers. And don't sign up for a membership without being wary! Went back after 6 years. The front staff didn't smile. He didn't have to but was in a staring contest with me. So no friendly customer service. Its 28 dollars to gym for one day only. I pay 10 dollars for a month gym with guest pass. Didn't want to give them my business. Left. Leave this place, unless you want steroids, the staff are obviously on it.
Negative experience: The gym facilities are great even if its busy most of the time, but the experience with the staff makes this place unbearable. After I am done with my workout and i am relaxing on a massage chair listening to my music, i do not wish to be harassed by sales reps wanting me to buy more personal lessons or follow them on instagrarm. I havent even used the last 4 lessons that I was convinced in to getting by a very insistant trainer when I only wanted a gym membership. They wouldnt end the convo untill i just gave up and purchased the training plan they offered. I still have yet to go to any of these lessons. I just want some alone time working on myself at the g but the reps hound you like crazy.i have spent over 200 dollars in lessons that I havent used and probably will never get back. This place is not for soft spoken or confrontation avoiding people.

Negative experience: Used swim facilities. Gross. The steam room in the woman's change room need to be completed gutted and cleaned. The hot tub had huge clumps of hair floating around in the water.
Fantastic experience: I'm giving this review based on one of the trainers at the location. I had the pleasure of working with Sarah( blonde girl with glaases) earlier today to get help with some flexibility and mobility. Sarah took the time to explain the each stretch thoroughly and it really helped with my injuries. I highly recommend Sarah specifically if you want a well educated trainer who actually cares about your progression and development and is also very polite and respectful.

Positive experience: This is a great gym. The locker rooms and shower/steam room can be fairly dirty and frankly disgusting but that isn’t all the staffs fault. Some members are absolutely disgusting.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of the GoodLife Fitness Whitby Centrum gym since Day 1, more than 10 years ago. It's a 24/7 gym at a great location at Thickson Road and Highway 401 in Whitby. Lots of free parking. The gym is bright and is always kept clean. There is a lot of great cardio equipment (spin bikes, treadmills, elliptical machines, etc.) and weight lifting equipment. There are workout classes in separate rooms every day and even a women's workout section, if you prefer. There is a large pool, hot tub, large change rooms with showers and steam rooms. Overhead televisions and sometimes there is great K-Pop music playing. There is an an available towel service, massage chairs and shoe storage shelves. A very nice place to workout at a reasonable price. I give this GoodLife location 5 stars because of the people, including Managers Cory and Chrissy, GoodLife team members Lauren, Colin, Whitney, Katie, Victoria, Alex, Daniel and John, and personal trainers such as Jay and Ian. They keep the equipment in great shape and are very friendly and helpful.

Negative experience: Great gym, but they take advantage of prime location and fail to satisfy urgent needs for their clients. Steam room has been broken for a month and half now… I work in an industry related to fixing these types of issues and see no reason why it should be taking this long.
Positive experience: This gym is really nice, with lots of machines to use on the main floor and upstairs. However, the women’s only section is quite sad compared to other GoodLife Fitness locations I’ve been to. Dumbbells only go up to 30 pounds, no smith machine or squat rack, or leg press; should definitely consider changing it up!

Negative experience: I used to really like this location until today. I asked for a towel at the front desk, and the employee grabbed a towel from a bag as appose to the stack of folded towels right behind her so I simply asked if that towel was clean. With an attitude and rude tone she replied “would I touch it if it was dirty”. I think this was really uncalled for as I was just politely asking a simple question. Will not be retuning here.

Fantastic experience: I was hesitant to join in the beginning because I’m a new mom- and had no idea what I was doing. I met with Victoria, and she explained what would be best for me to get started- she got me a food guide and started my membership. She paired me to an amazing PT named Alex, and I am absolutely in love with you and her training techniques. She has helped me lose almost 30 lbs since December. And I would 100% recommend this gym!!

Fantastic experience: I have been to many GoodLife facilities over the years, played university level sports, and worked with many different trainers. Joseph, at this particular GoodLife has developed a program suited perfectly for my needs, and has consistently delivered results for me in achieving my goals. Whether you desire to lose weight, put on muscle, or just increase overall fitness for whatever reason sport related or not. I would highly recommend training with him. High quality trainer and a high quality guy that won’t disappoint!!!

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to this gym for over 6 months and the experience has been terrific!It has really nice and well-maintained facilities including a swimming pool and big training center. Kudos to my personal trainer Joseph! He is very professional and knowledgeable and he always make my time with him enjoyable and at the same time productive. Negative experience: Update: my friend let me know there is signage stating that they are redoing the deck. Keep on demanding better folks, it seems we're being heard. THE POOL IS FILTHY Check out the video. Says it all. Contacted management, they replied and 100% did not care. Weeks later and it's still the same way. Contacted members line. They are on it, and encouraged me to get more people to write in with concerns. •Do you go here and expect better for your money? •Were you thinking of joining but wouldn't in this condition? Positive experience: Been going to this location for about 12 years. Front staff generally friendly. Washrooms tend to be tad bit messy and unclean at times but that's no fault of the staff. They do their best to keep on top of it. Nice selection of equipment. Most people are respectful towards one another. Typically busiest on Mondays till about Wedneaday from 4:30 to about 7pm. Good gym overall!

Fantastic experience: Good overall experience first by coming into the building as I checked in was nice and easy wasn’t greeted, but I personally don’t mind as I’m there to get in and out. Change rooms are clean and tidy as for the rest of the gym. Gym members also clean up after themselves which is nice to see. The lockers are either a small cubby or a full size standing locker. This facility had a decent three lane size pool, steam room, two studio rooms, two stretching areas/room, Cycling room, dedicated weight lifting sections with machines. Cardio machines on the perimeter being on the bottom and top floor, also a basketball court also turf. I personally have no complaints, and will be back.

Negative experience: I suspended my membership previously due to COVID-19. GoodLife has confirmed that all of my account information and membership information remains in the system, however, they are adamant that I must pay a $100 enrolment fee to re-activate my membership. This is ludicrous, as their stated reason for the enrollment fee is the process of setting up an account, which I already have.

Negative experience: Stay clear from this gym if you value your money and time. From the inexperienced staff and terrible customer service to the members that are rude and gross, this place is toxic like the manager that runs this place. If do you not believe me just go there, its a waste of your time and money. I highly recommend a different gym.
