Fantastic experience: My favourite gym in town! So much equipment and such a laid back supportive environment! Great for all levels of training! If you're not confident the staff is exceptionally helpful and will help you feel comfortable!

Fantastic experience: I love this gym and have been a member for quite a few years now . It is very clean and very friendly staff . I got injured (outside of the gym) and Don couldn’t have been more helpful and knowledgeable. It is my favourite place to be !!!

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff & comfortable environment, which are especially important to me with just getting back to exercising. A towel is provided, as well as a rag to wipe down equipment. Parking is also available for members, including those on a 1-week free trial pass.

Fantastic experience: In Penticton for 10 days. Tourist special was the perfect rate. Gym has everything I needed plus more. The staff and members were friendly and the atmosphere was amazing. Probably the easiest sign up ever as well. 100% would recommend this gym to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Great little gym in downtown Penticton. Free parking (!) and a very reasonable drop-in rate. Equipment is a bit older but well maintained and greased. The service is also great, so I’m not sure what some of the disgruntled folks are talking about. Highly recommend!

Positive experience: Very nice staff and awesome location, the layout was a little odd just because of the building, but they have a decent amount of equipment. Punching bag in the back is a bit light though and focus mitts are Everlast so a little soft - so be careful but it was good for keeping up while on vacation

Fantastic experience: A Tale of Two Gyms: I am a retiree who spends half the year in Penticton. I recently inquired at several gyms regarding membership. Narrowed it down to two: World Gym and City Centre Fitness. Both gyms had equipment and atmosphere that suited my needs. The human component however….what a difference! World Gym was prepared to accommodate me by waiving the new member administration fee that I would otherwise be required to pay each year that I returned to Penticton. The alternative was to pay $20 per month to “freeze” my account while I was away and not using the gym. I decided on the first option. I was in the process of paying when I was told about another fee. Not sure of the name but I was told it was to offset their losses due to Covid. I thought, no please, no more fees. The girl on the front counter, pleasant enough, pointed me to the sign on the counter which referred to this particular fee. It was one of those asterisk/fine print items we all know far too well. I asked if it could also be waived. Afterall, I explained that I would be lucky if I used the gym for 4 of the 6 months.. A man on the side spoke up and said that he could waive the fee if he wanted but he did not want to. I asked who he was, he was the owner. At this point my costs came to about $445, we had not started with my partner’s fees yet. I respectfully said that maybe this gym wasn’t the best fit for me. I believe he was in agreement. No raised voices, a cordial understanding. In contrast…. I arrived at City Centre Fitness and was greeted by the owner. A very pleasant man who asked my name and then used it. Seemed genuinely interested in me. I explained the situation at World Gym. He said that they had many different clients and would attempt to accommodate.. There were no sign up fees, no Covid fees, no fine print items. He said it would cost $473 for 6 months for both my partner and me. And get this…while I was away all I had to do was give notice and they would put my account on hold. I said that I would need five months' coverage. They had a promotion for six months but he told me that I could put the account on hold after five months and the sixth month would be there for me when I returned next year. Wow! What a difference. The first was clearly focussed on me fitting into their business plan. The second was focussed on how their business could accommodate me. If you are in the market for a new gym, I would advise that you check out City Fitness as an option. They definitely have the better service and business model from a customer’s perspective. The owner at City Centre Fitness was genuine, respectful and incredible… awesome! Congrats to both for surviving Covid. All the best to your continued success. Fantastic experience: I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at city centre since acquiring a membership some months ago. I had set goals for myself in physical fitness and joining this fitness centre has absolutely helped me to meet them. The first thing I noticed was the professionalism of the staff right from the moment you enter the facility to the time you take leave. They are courteous, very friendly and are always willing to go above and beyond should you require their assistance. Early on I had inquired about a personalized plan for my workouts and was given an appointment with sarah who is one of the very qualified staff there and we sat down and discussed what I was looking for and what I wanted to achieve and any health limitations I might have that would need to be factored in. She proceeded to deliver a program for me that has turned out to be tailor made for what I was looking for and with serious effort on my part I have and continue to receive the dividends I was striving for. I usually attend the gym in the morning and being an observant person I quickly noticed and paid attention to how the early fitness staff consisting of both Sarah and Joanne conducted themselves both at work and at the physical fitness aspect itself. Despite having what I am sure must be very busy lives outside of their time at work here they still make sure they find the time to put in that time at the gym themselves and have served as a role model for me of sorts especially in the beginning (and sometimes even now) when I did not relish the prospect of going in and doing what is very demanding physical exertion on my part. On these days I would think to myself "would they cut out and not put in the effort necessary to achieve a goal?" And I knew they would not so it kept and does keep me going even on off days, perhaps that is the best thing I have learned from them and biggest personal growth I have received since joining. In closing I would be remiss not to mention the very relaxing and friendly atmosphere that exists there, you see the same faces everyday and their personalities quickly allow you to feel that you fit in. Joining City Centre Fitness has been a rewarding experience for me both on a physical and personal level.

Positive experience: Place is great-- but I am currently listening to my music as loudly as I can on my headset.. And the radio station they have is blaring at an uncomfortable level and I can hear it better than the music in my ears.. People are shouting over the music to talk to each other.. And when the radio ads play the bass is so high it distorts the speakers. 9pm on a Tuesday. I would consider bringing ear plugs in the future.

Negative experience: I just moved to town and was looking to join a gym. I stopped by to get more information and got probably less than minimum effort from the girl at the front desk. I guess signing up new people isnt a priority for her. She was also really bland to the couple that came in as I was leaving. I went in pretty set on joining and left empty handed because I need a supportive environment and was pretty well serving myself. Location was perfect too!
