Nautilus Plus Downtown East

Negative experience: There are multiple things I don't like about this place: 1. Nobody cleans up after themselves. Only gym I've ever been to like this. I don't know if it's because they feel entitled because it costs more than average, but it's gross. I got ringworm from the benches here. 2. Poor maintenance of the actual space. Floors are falling apart or have big holes in different places. Unsafe. It is also not cleaned regularly. The locker room showers in particular are nasty. 3. Bitchy staff. The one short girl with the curly hair is particularly rude. The tall manager guy is very nice though. 4. Unbelievably crowded almost every day between 5-10. You can't get anything done. 5. Terrible music All of this for the very high price we pay makes it not worth it. I decided to go somewhere else. I guess if you want a place to cruise other gay guys in the locker room, this is the place. If not, just go to another gym.

Positive experience: Salle correcte malgré le matériel vieillissant, toutefois il faudrait former une de vos employés au savoir être. Il s'agit d'une jeune blonde qui travaille à la réception. Jamais un bonjour, un sourire et toujours campée sur son téléphone. Mauvaise énergie au rendez-vous vous ce qui n'est pas le cas des autres employés. Merci

Negative experience: Never sign up for yearly membership ! I will never recommend Nautilus for anyone again. I was with them for two years. Had medical condition and couldn’t leave the house and couldn’t go to the gym for couple months. I called them to cancel but they said I have to be there in person to do so with doctors’ note otherwise I have to pay for rest of the remaining time on the contract. I asked them to put hold my account they said they can’t unless I come in person with doctors’ note. Being a loyal customer for two years isn’t valued by them.

Negative experience: The place's masive but hasn't been invested in a millenia...the lift is not even working so by the time you get to the second floor you are done with, the warm up the price's just ridiculous for the services they provide & they sell you up a year membership even if you just want to try up for a month...the payback for working out stops working as soon as you tell them you want to cancel it and you end up paying over 100 dollars for a month worth even if you work out 5 or 6 times a week...the machines are primitive, raw and likely to cost you an injury, there is no gym culture so most people leave the disks on the machines, the cleaning has a lot to be desired for and the looker room and showers are just...not great. They don't do inductions...but they are willing to set you up with a personal trainer...obvs $...also they hardly speak English and if you have a problem they will call you at silly hours and leave you a message on your voice mail...in French...even if they know you don't speak it...all and all...a sad excuse of a gym at any level...no wonder is hardly ever busy...the irony is that it seems to be the best of the whole franchise.

Negative experience: J’ai pris un abonnement d’un an à cause de la proximité, mais je ne l’ai pas vraiment utilisé . J’ai eu une chirurgie de genoux ( remplacement ) et après 5 semaine j’ai eu le ok de du chirurgien d’y aller faire du vélo, à condition que je ne tombe pas . J’ai amené mon mari et supplier la superviseure du Nautilus Berri ( une jeune brunette ) qu’il veille sur moi pour 10 minutes dans la salle. Elle dit que mon mari devrait payer, sinon il peut pas me surveiller. Ou je dois prendre rendez-vous avec un antreneur privé si je veut être surveillée. Je répondu que je ne trouve pas normal et que je veux annuler l’abonnement . Elle me réponde en ‘souriant’ que j’ai un contrat d’un an. SUPER MAUVAISE EXOERIENCE!!!

Positive experience: It’s fine for the price. Not super clean, the equipment is really old fashioned. The staff is fine. The men changing rooms are a bit grim tbh, overall the place needs to be updated.

Le gèrent est jamais là, et en plus j’ai un commentaire dans mon dossier qui la commis à la réception peux rien faire … c’est vraiment déplorable …. EN PLUS IL N’Y A PAS DE PROFESSIONNALISME… j’aimerais un rendez vous pour personal trainer que j’avais choisi et quand je suis àller faire mon rendez-vous à la réception la fille que travaille tout le matin m’a dit il était pas bon et qu’elle connaisse un meilleur, mais il est pas finis son cour encore et elle m’a demandé pour attend !!! Ça c’est travailler en équipe ..lol … ma deuxième fois ici , Même pas de réponse … ça fait deux semaine que j’ai mis une message et rien … le réponse est seulement pour le bon commentaire … que c’est pas le cas !!!!! Gym vraiment sale et les petites équipements sont pas bien rangé … tu perds du temps dans ton entraînent pour chercher et les trouver, quand tu les trouvent!!!! J’étais victime d’ harcèlement au gym … c’est ridicule que je suis intimide à cette point là dans le gym. Mal géré, mal propre, commis à la réception que jamais sais répondre vous question. L’autre jour je voulais acheter un shaker et le commis savais pas comment faire la transaction et il ma dit pour prendre une bouteille d’eau à la place. Le teste d’impédance ils sont pas formé pour te donner la bonne information. Je sais que c’est pas le plus cher gym à Montréal, mais c’est vrai que c’est loin d’être le gym meilleur géré…

Fantastic experience: Deuxième année abonné et toujours heureux, le service à la clientèle excellent et lorsque nous leur faisons une suggestion d'amélioration ils le prennent au sérieux. Bravo. L'équipement est toujours en bon état et toutes les machines fonctionnent toujours.

L'endroit est toujours propre et offre un environnement agréable pour s'entraîner, avec un espace spacieux qui permet une bonne circulation même en période d'affluence. Je recommande vivement ce gym.

Negative experience: I Went there for a one day tryout last week. This gym has a good space, equipments for all kind of fitness training but it really needs a deep cleaning everywhere. I was jumping the rope close to a window and noticed some spiderwebs/spiders and lot of dust all around the building and over the washrooms. Being clean is not difficult at all… Hope they invest on it.

Ça dépasse sûrement le niveau sanitaire. Manque de ventillation. This gym is a sick gas chamber! / The chemical odour of varnish or something else definitely surpasses health guidelines and there is nothing they can do about it.

Negative experience: Très insatisfait du service reçu par le gérant de la succursale Berri dans le village. Ça fait plus de 5 mois que je paye mon abonnement au comptoir et jamais eu de problème des autres employés. Je lui ai expliqué que j’avais été frauder que je ne voulais lui laisser ma carte et à plusieurs reprises m’a répété ça prend une carte. Ça fait plus de 4 ans que je suis chez Nautilus. Il a quelques semaines j’ai failli passer au travers le plancher car il a été défoncé par un autre membre. Moi soucieux des autres j’ai été avisé au comptoir et les employés ont rapidement sécurisés les lieux. Si s’est l’écoute que vous apportez à vos membre et j’ai toujours payé mes choses je me sauve au plus vite

Negative experience: Je ne conseille pas je suis passer en surccursale jai appris qu’il avait un essaie gratuit de un mois j’ai dit pourquoi pas essayé je ne suis inscrit Le lendemain même pas en 24h suite à un désistement personnel je décide d’annuler mon abonnement sachant que je n’est pas fait une séance ! J’appelle on me dit que je doit payer 1% de l’abonnement annuelle soit 56$ Je trouve sa honteux et malhonnête!

Fantastic experience: Très belle salle, très grande, pas trop remplie, beaucoup d'air pour respirer et une grande variété de machine Hammer strength sans compter le sauna. Parfait pour moi, surtout qu'on gagne un cashback sur nos séances. Si vraiment je devrais trouver un défaut c'est la légère puanteur dans les vestiaires hommes, mais c'est vraiment négligeable par rapport à tout le reste !

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Super staff too. Super spacious, tons and tons of bright natural lighting (YES!) and subscriptions are extremely reasonably priced. A bit too cheap actually! Been going there for several years and gotten to know 90% of the staff and they're a great bunch. Always a joy to go here (but only during non peak hours).

Negative experience: Gym is alright but staff takes equipment from the common area and lock it in their private exercise area that is rarely used as is in a very busy gym. I pay good money for my membership I shouldn't have my routine disrupted because the staff are too good or too lazy to put equipment we pay for access to back in its proper spot.

Fantastic experience: Visiting Montreal for the weekend. No LA Fitness or Planet Fitness - This gym saved my day. Courteous staff, plenty of toys to play with. Sauna - Yep it’s that good. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Incredibly disappointed at the service and the lack of transparency concerning the cable machines. Many of these cable machines reflect a weight much lighter than reality. I'm talking more than 10 lbs discrepancies. They told me some were lbs, some kg, but that can't be true bc their weights feel lighter than those confirmed lbs weights at other locations. If they were kg, their weights would feel much heavier... If you get injured at another gym because of that lack of transparency, you should hold them accountable, because, I have informed them of the issue not once, not twice, but on five occasions. Again, five occasions. From receptionists to two of the managers, that is, Marc-André and another one whose name I do not know. They refuse to indicate which machines are lbs and which are kg, after I requested it, probably because they know that they're actually all in lbs and just not reflecting the correct weights. Besides that, they run out of paper towel very frequently, and multiple lockers are disgusting and covered with rust on the inside. This Nautilus Plus location puts all the other amazing locations to shame because it is the only one with these issues. All the other locations I've ever been to have kept me very happy as a client. But Nautilus Plus Berri, y'all are cancelled, bro. Only reason I ever go back, and that's rare, is bc they close the latest on weekends.

Fantastic experience: Spacious gym, a lot of equipment, cardio machines, multiple bench presses, squat racks and deadlift platforms. Unless you go during rush hours you will always find the machine for your workout waiting for you. A lot of service from Nautilus Plus and there is even a sauna at this location.

Positive experience: Great gym overall. Some pieces of equipment start to get old but they are still functional. The gym could see a hip thrust machine and a stair master added to the mix though!

Positive experience: Vaste gym avec une grande section d'élliptiques et plusieurs appareils de musculation assez récents. On y trouve aussi un grand choix de poids libres. Très propre et bien entretenu et le personnel est très accueillant.

Negative experience: Très mauvais service et très mauvaise expérience. Je commence tout d’abord par le matériel, il y a presque 3 ou 4 machines ne fonctionnent pas bien et non stable, alors c’est risqué quand ça contient plus de poids. Et l’autre surprise, c’est que l’application m’affichait la fin de service ( abonnement) 29 juin et j’ai appelé 2 fois pour s’assurer si j’aurai le droit de s’entraîner le 29 juin ou non, et ils m’ont bien confirmé que c’est possible car c’est inclus dans le contrat, mais j’ai été surpris quand je me suis présenté aujourd’hui, il m’a dit le monsieur dans le comptoir que je ne peux pas m’entraîner car le 29 n’est pas inclu. Bon, je ne vous recommande pas cet endroit .

Negative experience: By far, the worst Nautilus Plus. It's super noisy. The music played in many of the group classes and the spin class are played at discotheque volumes with the door wide open for the duration of the class, so it's next to impossible to work out peacefully/safely in much of the gym. I've brought this up several times without any results, even though the people not in the classroom at this gym often outnumber the students. The machines aren't well maintained. The leg extension machine has been squeaking for over a year. One of the rowing machines has a clicking foot pedal. The height adjustment for the pneumatic abdominal machine sticks , so it's very hard to adjust. One toilet and a sink in the ladies' room do not function. I have a chronic pain illness that affects my metabolism. I've gained over 20 lbs since my diagnosis. My pain affects the duration of my workouts. I cone to this gym as advised by my internal nedecine specialist. One of the male employees at this gun asked me if I was pregnant. Another female employee will make comments like "you're leaving already."I find it very discouraging. Not everyone who goes to the gym is in perfect health or shape, and those types of comments can hinder a person's progress and make their gym experience unpleasant. There have been closures at this gym unrelated to Covid or statutory holidays. Most times you only find out about a closure when you show up to the gym and find the door locked. It shows a lack of respect to the customers. The employees seem to work on a script...must say hello, goodbye and bonne entrainment. If you leave get past the reception without a greeting, they yell one after you as if it's obligatory. You can't leave this gym in your bubble and enjoy your workout high; it won't happen. There's also a tendency for one employee to give fake compliments to try to rope you into additional services. It's off-putting. The stretching area is often cluttered. Equipment is often strewn all over the place so it's hard to find a space to warm up or cool down. Many services have been reduced during Covid, but no incentives/refunds have been given for these losses (I.e, showers, saunas, cancelled classes). There are all the same several employees here that are approachable and warm. The curly haired gentleman with glasses and the new osteopath. There was a woman with blond hair and straight bangs who was all business, very professional. I haven't seen her in ages. She may have been a manager at one point. On a positive note, the Nautilus Plus on the Plateau is great. The Place Victoria Nautilus is the best. There are lots of places to workout. You can workout in the classrooms when classes aren't being given which is something the Nautilus on Saint André does not allow. The employees at Place Victoria have a genuine enthusiasm and warmth. The Zumba classes are fun. Toning class is great too. I wish I lived closer to that location. They have more instructors. The common areas are quiet and the level of music in the classes don't disturb the other customers. There are some machines that have screens attached so you can watch programs without craning your neck to see. The rooms are divided and this Nautilus is on two floors, so it has a lot of areas where you can workout privately if you like. It's a hard Nautilus to find with very little signage, but definitely worth the trip. The Boomerang membership($1.50 us tax reduction per workout is a big incentive to join. It's what got me. With my busy schedule, since the Nautilus on Saint Laurent closed, I have no other appealing Nautilus options in my neighbourhood, and a noisy location is not my cup of tea at the end of a busy work day.

Fantastic experience: Spécifications: Ce gym est situé aux abords du quartier gay de Montréal. Si des commentaires concernant le voisinage bizarre sont ici, ils sont clairement homophobes et donc impertinents. Ce gym offre des plans d'abonnements à la journée, la semaine, mensuels et annuels. Si certaines personnes se plaignent du fait qu'ils poussent pour l'abonnement annuel (ce qui est logique pour une entreprise, d'emblée), ils devraient se demander quel est le vrai problème... Leur incapacité à savoir dire "non" et avoir ce qu'ils désirent vraiment. Ce gym est ultra propre et a des appareils neufs... J'espère que ca rétablira les faits...

Fantastic experience: Sometimes you read a few bad reviews and it discredits a business. For this reason, I have been compelled to write a review since seeing the 2 bad reviews of this Nautilus made me sign up to another gym last year. This year I decided to try out this Nautilus and have to say it's been great and the reviews could not have been more wrong. They do have some old equipment on the machines side with some weird air pressure machines but they are more than adequate for people training on machines. All the free weights, benches, power racks, bars, cable machine stations, etc are great. Plenty of benches and squat racks for everyone without having to wait. The cardio equipment is pretty standard. Ellipticals, treadmills, two types of bikes and a rowing machine. My only wish would be to have a few real spinning bikes for those who don't like the normal bikes. As for the location, it's in the gay village, who cares. The building isn't anything special but inside the gym is pretty charming. Old wood floors and brick walls give it a very nice feel. The locker rooms and bathrooms are always in great shape. They have many showers which are always clean and a sauna. The staff have been nothing but courteous to me. Overall I would say this gym ranks as one of the best atmospheres I've ever had inside a gym. If you are looking at joining a gym in the area, go and check it out and do a tour to form your own opinion. I hope this helped somebody!

Negative experience: Beau gym au niveau espace et pour le matériel de crossfit. Matériel de musculation fonctionnel mais assez vieillot. Cours en groupe assez limité et de niveau débutant/intermédiaire. Le plus dommage reste que ce GYM promet des installations à l'abonnement puis les retires en cours d'abonnement sans prévenir et te charge quand même le désabonnement près de 50$ alors qu'elle ne respecte plus ses engagements. Faites attention avant de vous y inscrire surtout si vous hésitez pour ne pas vous faire flouer.

Negative experience: Still accurate, after 1 year, no surveillance from staff! I am shock at people still not cleaning up after sweating allover equipment, half of member don't have a towel, or wearing their mask under their chin. WAKE UP NAUTILUS, gym is the worse place for germs. Don't you think now is the worst time to slack on hygiene? Members should be force to have a towel to enter the gym. Ask your staff to do a walk around and tell people. One unhappy customer I gave it 2 months, an gyms will be close again

Positive experience: Clean gym with a nice variery of equipment. They have a nice area for calisthenics, as well as a large amount of free weights / machines to use. I particularly like the Pneumatic Resistance machines, considering this is the only gym I know that has them. The membership price seems to be worthwhile if you go frequently, but may be a bit pricey if not. One downside is that there doesnt seem to be a way to sign in without the Nautilus app. A bit of an inconvenience if your phone is dead, or if you'd rather leave it at home for the day. Overall, this is a solid gym.

Positive experience: Very nice space. There is a dedicated area to do functional workouts with pull up and squat racks and grass, which I particularly like. However, they are missing a couple of key pumping machines which they could easily add.

Fantastic experience: Criticisms of the company asides, 5 stars is definitely deserved for this location. Staff have always been helpful in providing information and help, ensuring to greet you at the door and helping everyone feel welcomed. There is plenty of equipment to go around, with the several squat racks, bench presses, deadlift areas and many other machines becoming handy when it gets a bit busier than usual. The gym is also open later than most others downtown. Ladies locker room was in good condition once I visited but I cannot comment on the showers as I have never used them. The handful of group classes I took prior to the pandemic restrictions were fun and motivating.

Fantastic experience: One of the nicest and largest Nautilus locations that is also open the latest. The exposed brick, beams, and ventilation gives it a lot of character. They have been making some nice improvements lately although it appears that they added used TKO free weights but now there aren't enough spots for all the weights. Caution to those with mobility issues as the gym is on the 3rd floor and freight elevator cannot be used.

Positive experience: Good gym. Good facilities. Very clean and generally not too busy. The gym requires you have their phone app to enter which I find rather inconvenient, there should be at least a manual option for those not carrying smartphones. Otherwise impressed.

Positive experience: Gym has all you could ask for , nice staff who gave me information.

Positive experience: Gym propre, grands vestiaires. On peut y pratiquer plusieurs méthodes d'entraînement grâce à la salle fonctionnel. Le personne est courtois.

Negative experience: Dirty showers and outdated equipement, don't let the pictures fool you.
