Fantastic experience: Took a class of grade 4s and 5s here with my school and the staff were great! Super helpful and informative, and the kids had a blast. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: When I purchased my punch card, I specifically asked if my card would expire (as I was planning on traveling). I was told no, and now, coming back, I find out that my card had expired. It is very frustrating when the customer is not taken seriously.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Beyond the Crux for several years, with various groups my daughter participates in, and the staff have always been fantastic - knowledgeable, fun, and they always cheer the kids on. The gym is always well kept and clean. When I was there about 2 weeks ago, there was a disgruntled client, who had purchased a punch pass about two years ago, and was angry that it was expired. Him, his wife, and his son all came inside and gave the gentleman working - Russell - a very hard time. They were persistent and rude, and nothing Russell or the owner (who Russell called) offered was to their satisfaction (even though, in my opinion, all options given were more than fair). The clients were saying things like “we will get 50 friends to give 0 star reviews so your business fails” and things like that. Huge kudos to Russell, who was on his own, for remaining polite and patient throughout the entire interaction (about half an hour), for coming up with reasonable solutions, and remaining calm. Working in customer service for years, I was impressed by his professionalism. Great job Russell!

The gentleman at the counter went above and beyond making us feel comfortable and even showed us proper technique for falling. The gym features a top-out section, cave climbing, and lots of cool slab problems. Creative route setting and good prices. Some of the mats upstairs could use replacements, but overall great climbing gym!

Negative experience: If you’re any type of serious climber don’t waste your money going here. They never change the top rope climbs. ( same climbs for a year) At least the bouldering is pretty decent. ( a little sand bagged) This gym has so much potential to be a dope climbing gym, just a little frustrating paying for drop-in to climb the same problems.

Fantastic experience: The auto belays were great for my kids! And me!! Hours of fun for them, excellent play date meet up for little climbers. Very reasonable pricing for equipment and kids drop in experience! Our kids (3-8yrs range had a great time! Plus adults! Helpful and casual environment. Not all shiny and new. But excellent fun and for all ages.

Positive experience: There's a mini gym attached so you can take a little break from climbing. Very fun set up that allows climbers to go through a tunnel and other obstacles. They could change up the routes a little more often.

Positive experience: Good place to do your workout. Not very large but enough for beginners. Some spots are not very safety in my point of view. Mats are to short and doesn't cover 100%. But with practice you ll go around easily.

Positive experience: I love this place and used to go be here all the time. But wow have the prices for the day pass gone up?!? $18 for half an hour of climbing was a little much! I will stick with outdoor for that kind of pricing! Wish you had an hourly rate or something.

Fantastic experience: Very fun climbing. I moved in a few blocks away from them and upon my first visit I found the ruote markings confusing so I didn't go back for almost a year. Then I went and had it explained and now I'm in love. So many cool and unique features and routes. Fair prices. A good mix of bouldering and rope climbing. Classes from knowledgeable and friendly staff. I'm an amateur climber, I've climbed on and off for a few decades but never consistently enough to be good, so I stick to the easy stuff. However there are some amazingly complex routs here as well. It's a very well balanced gym and not a lot of ego thrown around so it's easy to be comfortable. I highly recommend them. I'll be going regularly now that I've gotten used to their route markings.

Positive experience: I could never go actual rock climbing but this i could do. Plus plenty of auto belayers (sorry don't know how to spell it) for if you are just not heavy enough to lift your friends.

Fantastic experience: It's a great place with friendly, attentive staff. I've been climbing here for about 5 weeks, and I've been taking the youth climbing class. At the beginning I was climbing 5.6 and V0's, and I'm not consistently a 5.10a-d and V2-3. It's a great place to go to climb for an afternoon or make it your regular gym.

Upper level is typically shorter technical problems while lower wall will have you reaching. Great route setting tons of variety of problems. It's awesome to top out after grinding your way out of the cave. Not super busy which means you don't have to be a pro just to get on the wall. Not intimidating for beginners which is great. If you're gonna commit to a gym this is the one

Fantastic experience: I'm a novice climber. The staff is always friendly and chatty, the facility in general isn't the newest but it's well maintained and never feels dirty despite the mass amounts of chalk everywhere. A few of the mats are ripped but all in all a nice place to blow off some steam, the shoe rentals are also only $1.25!!!

Fantastic experience: Always a great place to come meet and share laughter over some good climbs. Planned events for birthdays is recommended! This is the place that got me into climbing and ill always be gping back to climb there.

Positive experience: This is my regular gym, but it isn't exactly exciting.

Negative experience: Had to switch gyms - this gym has everything that is needed in a climbing gym, but the staff are really cold and unfriendly. I also find that the crowds are super small and so climbing gets boring quickly. The other gym is much more exciting and inviting. Just my opinion.
