Fantastic experience: Giid parking and great gym

Positive experience: Not a very wide variety though of machines for the amount of people that come. Expect to wait every single time for the chest fly machine, the dumbbells are unorganized and half the time there’s no label on machine weights. So you can barely tell how much you’re living until you actually do it. Extremely dirty and I’m the only one with a rag and wiping down my equipment. There’s zero promotion to wipe down equipment and it’s disgusting. I’ve been to tons of gyms in my life and this has to be the worst one. My least favourite thing is how I have to scan in twice, so now I’m working out with my card and keys. Only reason I gave it 3 stars is because it’s a very cheap membership.

Fantastic experience: got A day pass today the university of Guelph gym and I gotta say how the energy engraves existence, echoes etch eternity presence pulses, penetrates, permeates proximity every set was a sermon syllables synced with sweat while bars bounced like barbells breathing brilliance never forget. Crowd caught in cadence, craning, captivated raps ripple through racks, resonance recalibrated 2nd to none flows fused with ferocity Guelph Gym glows in greatness gravity of velocity. Discipline dances in density, devotion decorated intensity intertwines, inspiration elevates. So this is where momentum meets mastery and motion and every glance, garners gravitations devotion. I hope to comeback tomorrow and sign up in a time to comes thank you so much for the experience. The Staff at the time were great as well and I greatly appreciate their time they gave me. Fantastic experience: Go Gryphs

Negative experience: Student gym filled to the brim with way too many people. Changerooms are nasty with pee, hair, and toilet paper on the ground. Fitness classes are so full you can’t move in fear you’ll slap someone. Only one assisted pull-up machine, which is mainly used by people that do not even use the assisted part. Really an aggravating experience working out here. Recommended for you if you hate lat pulldowns and love being asked how many sets you have left when you’ve barely started on a machine.

Negative experience: During peak usage hours (after 5 PM), the ventilation systems in most of the halls are turned off. This makes the halls unusable due to extreme heat and an incredibly substandard ventilation system. After expressing our concerns to the staff, we received astonishing suggestions such as opening the hall doors or using ice packs in case of heat exhaustion. Unfortunately, our complaints are not being addressed.

Positive experience: Can you guys please fix the steam sauna? The quality has been inadequate since the announcement of COVID-19. It smells soooo bad in there and the steam doesn’t work. I brought my friend one time and he had to walk out immediately. The only reason I stayed in there is cause I’m used to it. Do you guys not clean it anymore? Maybe get a guy to come clean it more often cause even at 10-11 AM that place will smell like things I don’t wanna say. On top of that, the steam room isn’t even hot anymore. The last 10 times I’ve been to Guelph I’ve only experienced the steam go off once. Don’t tell me it resets on a timer because there were multiple times where I tested it and waited an 1 hour so if you’re tryna tell me it takes more than 1 hour to reset the steam setting than that is absurd. When the steam goes off I shouldn't be able to see the person beside me…Overall the gym is a great place but your negligence of the steam room is a vibe killer for most because that is our recovery. All we discuss within the steam room is how it has gone to the ground. Let’s get to work !

Fantastic experience: Guelph stands out with their university town. Super clean. They have special dogs that chase off the geese hence property is very pleasant. Athletics Center is awesome. Already one big reason this uni is being considered in our choices.

Negative experience: I give them one star not because of the facilities and the athletic center, but because of the registration process. I have registered for the personal trainer in a group of 3 for 5 sessions, after registration and full payment, 3 weeks has passed and nobody contacted for the sessions. I just received an email that I have to find 2 other people otherwise the sessions are canceled !!! Nobody told me at the registration that it is my responsibility to find other members of the group and it is not written in the website as well. I am really dissatisfied about this service.

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed a fundraiser event for the Squash team! Tournament was run very efficiently . Students were friendly, organized and attentive ! Great job to the Griffins Squash team!

Positive experience: Id like to start off by saying I love it here, it's a great place and it's helped so many people better themselves. It's cheap for students, clean, and everyone is extremely respectful, I am extremely happy with this gym. There are some downsides of course. There are many machines that are never touched, while there are lineups for other machines or benches. This gym could benefit greatly from having more than 2 leg presses or leg extension machines for sure.

Positive experience: This place is very feature-complete... but it's built like the backrooms and has barely any maps. Also they have tours regularly walk through the gym, that's pretty annoying. I did end up finding a few maps of the building in the gym, wish these were easier to come by!

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic place!!! I belonged to 5 different universities before UoG, and Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre is the best gym ever!! Go to the gym right away!!!

Fantastic experience: My nephew came from Toronto to play basketball here Saturday and he and his family were so impressed. They claimed it was by far superior to where they played in Ottawa. It would have been nice to have vending machines and even better, food Trucks as we had to leave the campus to eat. But all in all it was a great experience.

Fantastic experience: As a University of Guelph student, I love having a gym membership. it's a good price for students, and they have so much to offer! there's a regular gym where you can work out on your own basis, and then there are fitness classes with an instructor and it's really fun! I believe you also have an option to get a fitness trainer with the membership, though I've never opted for one. as well, there are recreational sports where you can make use of the facilities and play sports like basketball, volleyball, badminton, and swimming! the rock climbing wall is additional, but I think it's really cool that the option is there! SO MUCH TO DO! if you go to the university or just live around the area, I think this membership is worth it!

Fantastic experience: Excellent. My #1 favourite gym. A bit expensive for people who aren't students at UoG but still worth the price for frequent gym goers in my opinion. Charges by the month with no sign up for non-students and by the semester for students.

Fantastic experience: We are currently participating in a Futsal League here and University of Guelph has been top notch throughout the whole process. All persons are asked to do a COVID waiver check in upon entering and the staff do a really good job to make sure people are following the rules and keeping their distance during the matches. Very happy with the process and experience in the Futsal League at this location.

Positive experience: Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful facility, but it's full to the brim 90% of the time. Should've planned bigger if they were going to build a gym on campus AND open the doors to public use.

Positive experience: Renos have been good. I have been going here for about 10 years. Prices are too high for swimming for a day pass though. Should be a different price for swimming versus using the weight and fitness room since the pool hasn't been updated at all. It jumped from 4 dollars per session to 10 dollars over two years. Also having to sign twice every time I visit and get a day pass is a bit ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: I love U of G athletic facilities especially stadium and soccer complex. As an experienced soccer referee, I appreciate their passion toward soccer all the time. Perfect atmosphere for soccer! :)

Only thing, is that I'm a taller gent, and need a rack that I can OHP in and not hit any support bars overhead. They have two allowable options here, however they are usually taken and leaves long wait times for one to open up. They have about 6 or 7 other racks, tho all have support bars and I'd get zero range of motion then. Wish that all the racks were open style to allow for it (or at lease pins that can be set on the outside of the rack so nothing is overhead).

Positive experience: Great new facility on the university of Guelph campus. Big new basketball gym, lots of team locker rooms, excellent weigh and cardio gym. Ties together with the old gym and pools in one building now. Has a "universal' locker room in addition to the men's and women's lockers - good for families or anyone not comfortable with the other change rooms and showers. Excellent, friendly staff always. Did I mention the climbing wall?
