Positive experience: Great gym. Would be a lot better if they kept the saunas going. Staffed today, sauna was off. Staff disappeared to go workout, couldn’t find them. Don’t understand why they don’t keep it on during unstaffed hours either. We’re grown adults. It’ll be fine.

Positive experience: Pros and cons of this gym, it’s always clean and tidy, never to busy, my only complaint is that whenever I need a staff member no one is ever around (during staffed hours) staff doesn’t wear any identifying clothing so I have no clue who try to find. A few times I’ve come in to tan and have a work out, won’t see any staff members for 45 mins, finally when I do find a staff member to try book a tanning they say they can’t book anymore (tanning ends 30 minds prior to closing) which is frustrating because I can’t utilize fully what I’m paying for because staff isn’t at the front counter. Another con is any broken machines seem to take forever to be fixed which is also frustrating.

Fantastic experience: Enormous, extremely well equipped, clean with plenty of space. Among the best, if not the best, gyms I've seen in 40 years of working out.

Fantastic experience: The evening staff was phenomenal when I went in the other day. Above and beyond and actually cared. It was nice to see them engaged with members and not sitting in their phones like you see in Edmonton. Definitely will be back!

Negative experience: Dirty and damaged Machines and benches, unstaffed at peak weekend times. High membership price but it's not going back into the gym and it shows.

Negative experience: Front desk staff was rude when i came to ask for membership. Overall my main to go gym.

Positive experience: Lots of equipment to use, I find going right around 3PM it's hard to get proper sets in because of the swarm of High School students getting off from school. I feel that cleaning from the janitors could be a bit better especially in the washrooms. It sometimes has looked like they took a garden hose and sprayed down the walls and didn't bother wiping them down. Men's Locker Room could use a bit of attention to the broken and damaged lockers.

Negative experience: Paying a full price for about half the amenities of any other Goodlife. not only that, Sauna and showers don’t work during unstaffed hours. Yes, SHOWERS do not work when there’s no staff. I’ve never seen that at another gym.

Positive experience: I am from different province. Can I use the gym equipment and pay for a daily visit instead of doing monthly payments?

Negative experience: I loved this gym good people good staff what makes me mad is that they charged me every two weeks thats 154$ a month but I tried to cancel my gym membership and they told me it was fine i just own them 107$ but 2 weeks go by and they took out 200$ witch is so weird cuz 1 I cancelled it and 2 it came out in two 25s$ and two 77$

Negative experience: Worst experience from this one. Front desk services suck. Cancelled the membership at beginning of the month and still, they are robbing me of my account. When I reached out to the front desk they says they can't do anything thats the company policy.

Fantastic experience: Just moved to fsj and was looking for a gym and I gotta say the staff are really welcoming to new people and the equipment is top tier and the gym overall has a good vibe to it and it's a really clean facility will definitely be staying at this gym all around great place to work out at.

Fantastic experience: Love the massage chairs! I have lost over 20 lbs and more than 5 inches off my belly and waist due to using the virtual work-out videos five days since December 2022. The staff is quite helpful whenever issues arise with the equipment and nice to chat with. The price per month is slightly less than other gyms I have looked into, and the 24-hour accessibility is vital for my very early morning workout times.

Positive experience: Very nice and spacious gym. Has everything you need and more for a great workout. Huge changing rooms with saunas. Staff were very nice. Place is clean. I am staying in town visiting family and wanted a place to workout for a couple weeks. I stopped by here and was pleased to find out that I could have one “free workout trial” with valid ID. Afterwards I wanted to buy a 2-week pass, but the minimum they have is a one-month pass ($87 + tax). Since I was only going to be in town for 2 weeks I couldn’t justify buying a month long pass. The worst part was I asked about paying a drop-in fee thinking I could just pay $15 or so and drop in a couple times, but I was informed that the drop-in fee is currently $26+tax! I understand that the idea behind that is to encourage ppl to sign up for a membership, however I think a more reasonable drop-in fee should be implemented to accommodate ppl who are just in-town visiting etc. This location could have made like $50 off me by having a two-week membership option or me doing a few drop-in workouts.

Negative experience: Time to ho back to 24 hours..as advertised in the beginning.

Positive experience: Great gym minus the 24/7 hours. Paying full price almost 70$ a month and gym is closed 7pm Fridays and 6pm sat and Sundays!!!! Some of us work til 6 and can't make it before 7. Also missing alot of good equipment that other goodlifes have around the country like glute drive machine, lat pull over machine, better leg press the list goes on. Staff used to be amazing but have all left for better jobs. Hope to see some new smiling faces after long days working outside.

Negative experience: Big place. Truly over priced especially since Covid. With half the amenities. On top of that they change their rules on covid every two weeks and expect you to happily comply.

Negative experience: Very rude front desk agent (a she) at this location! What happened to all friendly positive gym staff? You should learn that English is not everyone's first language in this country. If you just like Caucasian people you better go out of Canada.

Negative experience: I just got a membership here and upon signing up, no one mentioned that it's NOT 24/7 at the moment. Why are we paying full price for half the services!?? The only reason I chose this gym is because I'm an insomniac and wanted to workout until I tired myself enough to get a good rest. I need the hours between 11pm-4am available. Hire a nightshift guard/covid cleaner, don't take away our paid rights.

Positive experience: Great selection of equipment, even during peak hours there is still no shortage of equipment. The pricing is quite steep, but goodlife offers quite a few discounts at other stores. And it has free massage chairs for member use. They also offer tanning subscriptions. They're also keeping all of the equipment super clean and you will always see staff cleaning something! Giving only 4 stars because you're only allowed one visit a day.

Negative experience: I have a membership at Goodlifefitness, and when I move to another city, I want to cancel the membership and the person who works there told me I have registered a membership card for more than 6 months you don’t need to pay $ 100 and I will be withdrawn in December it is done . and now I am still being withdrawn from my goodlife fitness in Fort St John every 2 weeks, they have withdrawn my money for 2 more months on my bank card. When I called back they told me to go there to solve it for me, I was not good at English and now I cannot go there because it's too far from where I am. Now I don't have to know how to do it, because they're not responsible and handle it for me, I'm really disappointed to have signed up for this gym membership.

Negative experience: Just signed up in 2020. GL advertises 24/7, although failing to provide sauna and shower service, not even talking about towels or squash. The facility is not staffed 24hrs and sauna takes hours to warm up/break sweat due to a vent blowing cold air into the sauna room, so their is no sauna! Also, you can only enter the facility ones every 30 min on the same fob for “security” purposes, so make sure you don’t forget anything in your car. #convenience There is no punching begs, no steam rooms. Although the membership prices are not adjusted for the missing services. There is little competition in FSJ and this is another example of ignorance on the side of management, who would rather decreased level of services, than improve on marketing strategies and proactively work on attracting more customers with event or fineness motivation.

Positive experience: Nice and clean. Lots of equipment, there there is no waiting line line to use machines. They also offer a sauna, yoga studio, virtual bike classes, and personal training. Basic membership fees are a little less than $30/month.

Negative experience: Goodlife is literally a scam. They lock you into a contract even when you don't use the gym for months with good reason not to, and send you to collections if you don't show photo id to tell them you don't want their membership anymore. It's made to be so inconvenient that they just keep getting payments. The staff are rude, and they don't have child care. The plans are ridiculously expensive for a single gym instead of having access to all GoodLife gyms in Canada. This gym is just a scam. Save your time and money and go for a smaller gym that will work with you.

Negative experience: What I liked: Plenty of squat racks. Spacious, lots of room. Good dumbbell sets. Clean and staff was friendly for my drop in visit. Lots of lockers and a dry sauna. Turf with ropes and sleds. What I didn't like: No towel service. So that meant no sauna for me. $15 dollar drop in fee. That's steep for no towel service. $10 max in my opinion. Plenty of bumper plates but no proper Olympic platforms to make real use of them. Sooooo... Can I drop them or not?? Mixed signals there folks. Personally I'd sell those bumper plates and bring back the towels. If corporate won't allow Olympic lifts then why even have them?

Positive experience: I absolutely love this gym! The people are super nice and helpful, the gym is clean and spaced beautifully. All the equipment is easy to use and there is plenty to go around. I gave only four stars because the lack of wi-fi, one tanning booth and minimal unstaffed hours on weekends. Would be nice to see the staffed hours posted on the Facebook page once a week.

Negative experience: This gym was awesome when it first opened. Aside from not having feminine hygiene disposal bins in the bathroom stalls (since been changed), I was pretty impressed. However, they have been around for almost a year and it has gone downhill. The cabled weight machines never have clips, all of the different attachments are scattered around and the staff doesn’t care to do a walk around to put it back (members should be doing so anyways). Every other gym I’ve been to staff does their walk arounds to make sure things are functioning properly and things are put away. This does not happen here. Instead you spend ten minutes finding the right attachment and pray all the clips aren’t missing. The affordability is great but I’d rather pay a bit more for a local gym to know its actually cared about. Also, the staffed hours don’t begin until 6am meaning the main change rooms aren’t unlocked until then. Staff also shows up incredibly late. It’s not cool when you want to take a shower in the main change room to get on with your day but you’re waiting for the unreliable staff member to show up. There are showers on the main floor for 24 hour use, but that is a coed shower and I’m not game for that. Additionally, there is no public wifi here; I noticed this when I first joined and I figured it was a new start up and for sure they would address it but they haven’t. Even if they had Shaw go wifi for those customers that would be sufficiant. But nope you are on your own. I think all of these complaints are management issues and should be addressed properly.
