Fantastic experience: Great gym, I was in town for a few days and had the chance to train here, awesome coaches friendly and talented students. The gym itself is well organized, clean, and nice. Plenty of mat space and they have a weight room. They let me use their weight facility while I was there without extra charge. I'll be coming here to train whenever I'm in fort McMurray.

Fantastic experience: I've been searching on and off for a martial arts club since I was 14/15 years old, ive tried all kinds of places from boxing to karate. However nothing compares to the Fort.. Best place I've ever trained at, the people and community they have are unmatched. Staff as well as students are very skilled and respectful, people help eachother improve and finding a safe training partner is essential but very easy to do here. Coaches Scott and Tristan among other trainers at the fort are world class.. for skill, patience, teaching ability and professionalism. If your looking for a very clean and positive training atmosphere defiantly give the fort a try. I can guarantee you will have a great workout and Learn something new!

Fantastic experience: Joining this jiu-jitsu club has seriously changed my life! As a teenager, I wasn’t always confident, and I struggled with finding something that made me feel strong and capable. But since starting jiu-jitsu here, everything has turned around. The coaches are amazing—they push you to get better while always being patient and supportive. I was nervous at first, but everyone is super friendly, and it didn’t take long for me to feel like I was part of the team. No one cares about your skill level or experience, they just want to help you improve. What I love most is how this place feels like a community. Fantastic experience: Moved up here in Fort McMurray for work ~2 years ago and didn’t know anyone. I decided to give this gym a try as suggested by a co-worker and man, it did not disappoint. Fantastic experience: The fort has quickly become my go to gym and not just for martial arts! Their new location is boasting with ample space making workouts and training a breeze. Instructors are top notch ensuring all sessions are both challenging but enjoyable. Gym is well equipped and always accommodating especially to those who are new whether it be the instructors lending a hand or those you spar with everyone there is willing to help.

Fantastic experience: The Fort Martial Arts is by far one of the most welcoming gyms I've ever come across. I initially enrolled my son in one of the Fort youth programs over a year ago (March 2023) to encourage team work, discipline and fitness. What I got was so much more. Tristan and Scott and their team of patient coaches were not only supportive and able to mentor and encourage a stubborn little guy to listen and work hard to achieve goals; but, they also offered a nurturing guidance and compassion that someone might not expect from two black belts. After seeing the confidence boost and community support from the Fort in my son's progress I decided to enroll myself in the adult BJJ classes. The amount of knowledge, guidance and support I received from day one can't be put to words. I feel safe and supported in my practice and classes and never unwelcomed; even when drilling a technique a little out of my realm of practice. The Fort's new picturesque facility is straight from a fitness magazine. The clean fitness equipment, mats, showers and change rooms cannot be matched in Fort McMurray. I hope to continue to be a life long member of the Fort and it's amazing community of members and coaches.

Fantastic experience: My son started going to The Fort a couple months ago, and all I can say is WOW! I am blown away with how Hands on the instructors are with the kids. My son loves going and pushes himself during class. My son really looks up to one of the instructors (Jonah) who has been working closely with him and teaching my son important life lessons (like forward thinking and problem solving while controlling his emotions). Only regret is not putting him in sooner!

I began to develop personal connections with every member during training given the good atmosphere, team spirit and sportmanship. Fantastic experience: Let me preface this review by saying that I have a martial arts background. I have been to many dojos/clubs in many different cities. I have only ever felt welcomed at my home dojo. I was a tiny bit skeptical to check out a new place to train a different martial art. But, I read the reviews and decided to just go for it. The second I walked in, there was such a positive vibe coming from the place, the people who train there, and the instructors. The owners are incredibly humble, talented, friendly, honest and welcoming. It doesn't matter what your background is, which ethnicity you are, which gender you identify as, which religion you follow, or whether you're a beginner or have experience, you will not regret coming here. This is not one of those places that you just get cardio. You get an incredible workout AND you learn the proper techniques of the martial arts. It's inclusive and challenging! The instructors give everyone time, no matter what! Amazing! I'm hooked!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to The Fort for almost 2 years now and I’ve loved every minute of it! The owners, Scott and Tristan, are truly excellent coaches who take great care in teaching the techniques to all levels of students. If you want to become one of the best in Brazilian Ju Jitsu this is the place to train. All members of the gym are very welcoming to new students and it is a very relaxed atmosphere. The facility is very clean and spacious. There are showers and a sauna for members to use. Signing up for classes is made easy with the Zen App that can be found in the App Store. The Fort has an excellent selection of Gis (the uniform), rash guards, shorts and all the accessories you will need. If you were ever curious about trying a martial art for fun, fitness, self defence or competition, try The Fort, you’ll be glad you did.

Fantastic experience: Hey everyone , just wanted to give Tristan and Scott the recognition they deserve. This place and the people were amazing. I know when trying something new we can be nervous and worried. But me and my children (12 and 9) all came to classes for the first time tonight and all felt comfortable and enjoyed every minute. Both Tristan and Scott are extremely knowledgeable and great with the kids as well as the adults from beginners to advanced levels. It was a truly exhilarating experience that the children and I all enjoyed immensely. If your currently looking for a martial arts studio or even anything active for you and your kiddos I seriously recommend trying a class or two here first I promise you you won’t be disappointed. The gym is extremely clean , bright and comfortable. And the trainers take the time to guide you through the steps. So do your self a favour and go down and chat with them now
