Negative experience: This is the worst gym I have ever been to in my years of training they won’t turn the ac on so it’s 100 degrees all the time it’s always packed they have so much eqipment that never gets used so there is line ups at everything you want to use the staff is rude and not helpful at all I went for 1 week and left angry everytime!

Negative experience: $24 for drop in is outrageous. The layout is very odd and it is so cramped in there, you can barely get by some of the machines. Lots of pads and handles were ripped and in need of repair. It also smells terrible and is incredibly hot inside…you will be sweating bullets after your first set from the heat. Do yourself a favour and just head over to Mac island for a much better experience

Fantastic experience: Lot's of respect for this establishment and its member base. The last several months I have been working with a friend and helping him rehabilitate through a very serious stroke. Once I felt ready enough to take him to the gym, our journey started at gym nation. It's only been a few months in the club, yet, I am incredibly impressed with the staff (they're always so friendly), management (clearly the culture they want is showing), and the member base. My friend uses a cane to get around the gym, and at times can be quite slow(good ole leg day), yet, members don't seem bothered by it. Its frequent that members will actually come and talk with the two of us for a bit before continuing on. I truly love the culture and people at this gym. I 100% recommend this facility to anyone.

Negative experience: I used to workout in gym nation training 2 girls, and recently a third. I train the girls without doing the workout, so I did not register. The receptionist allowed it and that’s why the girls registered. After 2 weeks, we were asked to leave the gym, or I would have to pay- even though I am NOT working out. I refused to make a payment and I was abruptly asked to leave the gym. At that moment we had to leave even though the girls paid for the full month. This is unfair, unjust and racist.

Negative experience: I got a three month trial to this gym. Was subject to atrocious, disgusting remarks about my body and appearance by several male patrons, as well as personal and professional attacks and defamation. I reported it to management and the response I got was apathetic to say the least. Won't be renewing my membership.

Love the yoga class with Kait. I wish there were more classes. She has a great class that's included for members. I'm surprised more members don't attend. A big part of training is stretching it out.

Positive experience: Best gym in town. Amazing equipment. But if you are here short term for work they gouge you, $25 to drop in or $115 a month vs $70 a month if you commit lol.

Positive experience: It's a nice space with a wide variety of machines alot of the machines are wore out the pads are cracked, there's resistance on the cable machines all the cardio machines are out of date and not in proper working order, for the price you pay to use this gym they should update their cardio machine all the steppers are trash treadmills have broken handles the exercises bikes the touch screens don't work..there's not many spray bottles or clothes around to wipe down equipment

Positive experience: Tonnes of equipment, great if you’re into bodybuilding. Bathrooms needs work though.

Positive experience: Rope kinda speaks for itself. $60/month plus admin and annual fees. Several others mentioned the lack of maintenance on the equipment.

Negative experience: Zero maintenance, 3 decent employees, half the cardio machines are broken and washroom urinals have been down for weeks. Cables pins are loose and will give out with enough weight. Come see for yourself what the most expensive gym in fort mac has to offer

Negative experience: If I didn’t live so close being convenient after work I would go to Mac Island. Cable machines been broken for months on end, hamstring machines - the back rest has been loose for months. Most expensive gym with 0 maintenance. Bunch of roid heads who do not care about these things. Where is our membership money going??

Fantastic experience: I’ve had nothing but good experiences at the Nation! The Staff ~ Maddy, Brittany, Pam, Nicole and all the other amazing staff are always welcoming with a smile and encouraging you to show up for yourself. If you ever need help with something (whether you can’t figure out a machine, or simply need a workout idea) they will always be there to help you. The Machines ~ There is a very large selection of good quality machines! Even during busy times there is still lots of availability for things! The Environment ~ I love how open this gym is, it’s large and has lots of windows so it’s so nice and bright inside unlike some other gyms in town. It’s also always so clean! Doesn’t matter the time of day you go, I’ve found I always see an employee making sure it’s in great condition. The Gym-goers ~ This gym can get very busy, I’ve found this is mainly after shift changes. But the other people that go there are always friendly and willing to lend a hand to help you achieve your best workout.

Negative experience: This is the worst gym ever I have been to with mostly broken machines. Me and my wife tried 3 machines and landed on 4th one which was noisy and were out in 10 mins. 10 years old machines and they are not doing anything about it. They will charge you before even looking at the gym and will try to bind you with a contract of 12 months. We were charged 58$ as drop in charges for going in and coming back in 10 minutes because of broken machines as we were there for cardio and upon asking for refunds they never want to refund us as they say it’s already in the system. We want to support local but if the local deals like this our beautiful town and people doesn’t deserve this sort of scamming. I wish the owner reads this and invests on this gym and uses my 58$ to fix the machines atleast

Negative experience: Not gonna lie it smells and is really expensive for how poorly it's maintained. Willing to make the drive to Mac Island over this place.

Positive experience: Decent gym, however the equipment is not well maintained, many of the machine are not in good condition and they don’t bother repairing them. It’s also overcrowded, too many machines and the layout is super tight, not safe.

Take it from me, looking for a knowledgeable, topnotch life changing experience? Hit coach Brittany up. She fixed my gut issues; helped me gain muscle, lose body fat and gave me a new chance at adding years to my life by guiding me to a healthier lifestyle. Weight loss to date...168 lbs. If I can do it, you can too! All the staff here gives me a reason to Need and desire to come to the gym. Besides I am kind of partial, its where I met the love of my life.

Negative experience: Most of the equipment don't work, the touch screen on most of the equipments is not working. it's been like that for a few months and they haven't fixed it, the maintenance is on low level. The design and air circulation is very poor, the second floor is significantly hotter than the first floor. So you sweat profusely on the second floor and then when you get to the first floor you are hit with cold air from the entrance door. Moreover, the layout of the equipments is not very safe, as some of them are located too close to each other or to the stairs

Negative experience: Worst management I've ever dealt with, gym smells like a sweaty a**crack and the machines are junk and broken. For 700$ a year I'd expect better. And make sure you don't have to cancel because you'll still be charged no matter the circumstances.... even if your dad passes and you move 7hrs to take care of your mom. Worst experience if I could give it negative stars I would

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love the environment that is built here, feels like one big family with how friendly all staff and members are. The equipment is the most in town, with a great variety for all areas of the body! Never want to leave when I get into the groove here

Negative experience: The good: -Helpful friendly staff -Lots of equipment, yes it’s probably the best gym in town, but that bar is set low to be honest. The bad: -Parking is trash as it’s in a busy mall right next to a sports bar. The only time is not bad is early morning. -Hours could be longer, especially earlier on weekends, it Fort Mac, you’d think you could get a workout before you shift on a weekend. Why not 24 hours? -Space is too small for the amount of equipment, at times it’s like trying to workout while shimmying past someone to get to the bathroom on a dash-8 turboprop -It’s usually a scavenger hunt to find the sanitizing bottles as there isn’t enough and no one returns then to the cleaning station, so some members don’t bother wiping down the equipment after use -The change room is way too small and your either tripping over people to get to your locker or standing and waiting for a little space, and it smells like the elephant pens at the Calgary zoo. -Lack of maintenance on the equipment and poor quality when the maintenance is done. -Poor lighting in several areas and the air conditioning is either nonexistent or not working. You will sweat from the heat before you’ll break a sweat from your workout.
