Fantastic experience: This is hands down the best gym I've ever been a member with. I used to go to the big chain gyms in the big city, but I prefer the Recharge environment, and find this gym has everything needed for a great workout routine, plus the HUGE added bonus of being family owned. It makes it so easy to be heard with questions and requests, and to gain helpful information on equipment, etc. Heather, George and Kyra have truly created an amazing space to come workout, with an incredible variety of equipment and personal spaces for stretching etc. For anyone new to a gym environment and might feel intimidated, this is a very comfortable place to come. They're constantly looking for ways to improve, keep everyone happy and comfortable, and with 24/7 hours and a discount at Grateful Table it's just the best!!!! I love this gym, you all are awesome!!!

Fantastic experience: The best gym in the West Kootenays easily. Dont pay attention to the negative reviews here. Its not the gym. Its the people leaving those reviews who were the problem. Recharge is the best equipped and cleanest gym here by a wide margin. My wife is an IFBB Pro and Recharge is the only gym here that has everything she needs for her competition prep. The owner is a gem. She has been extremely kind and helpful. Just respect everyone and follow a few basic rules and you wont have any issues. We are so thankfull and lucky to have this gym and this owner in the area.

Fantastic experience: As a member and also an employee at Recharge I can say with confidence that this is the best gym I've been to. Despite my disabilities that make normal day to day life difficult for me, Recharge has been amazing to work out in and for. They have made changes to schedules for me when I get hit with sudden onset health issues due to my conditions and try to accommodate all employees with scheduling and work to be done. From a member stand point, I have seen the same treatment for everyone. The gym and all equipment is cleaned daily. No strong body odurs permitted, no strong perfumes permitted (which is excellent for someone who is sensitive to strong smells like myself). We have had a culturally diverse list of employees, and an even more culturally diverse list of members. Everyone is respectful of eachother and gym rules (clean up after yourself, wipe equipment down etc). I truly love this gym, the owners, and the members. Everyone has been so welcoming, friendly, and understanding. Thank you Recharge, Heather & Staff, for giving me a nice place to learn, grow, and just be me with no judgement.

Fantastic experience: I love going to Recharge. Its the best decision I made. For being a smaller but fairly large facility it has all you need to have a great workout. The 24 hour FOB system is an added bonus, especially if you like going super early or late!

Positive experience: I LOVE coming to Recharge. It's a great place to escape for a couple of hours. It's very clean, and well maintained! Some of the machines could use replacing, or getting some different ones, but overall, it has everything you could need!

They were also very accommodating for me to come in and do my work out with my daughter who’s in a wheelchair. There sense of community is fabulous and we love supporting small businesses who support others! ✅

Negative experience: Received attitude via text messages. I have been lifting competitively for over 3 years and recently moved, hoping to join a welcoming community. I was called “arrogant, entitled, and immature” as if $90/m was not “entitled”. It is truly a shame this is one of the only gyms in town and ran by someone who doesn’t wish for new clients.

Fantastic experience: This is not just a gym it's a community. Everyone is super friendly and does there best to keep the equipment in it's place and clean. Couple days ago I had a call that I needed to take and left couple dumbbells laying by the bench. When I came back my neighbor already put them back. There plenty equipment and even at the busy times you don't need to wait of adjust a workout because machine is busy.

Fantastic experience: My experience has been awesome. The place is spotless, cleaner than the hospital. Everyone is friendly and respectful. There's all the equipment you need for weight resistance and to do all of you main lifts. A deadlift area, squat racks, hip thruster, bench press, a bunch of benches, machines, and cardio machines. There has been a constant state of improving the facility to adjust to the needs of their clients. Oh and its 24 hrs :)

Fantastic experience: This gym is amazing. Love the 24 hour access so I can go any time I want. Gym is always clean and the other members are always nice. Staff are helpful and really on top of things. Love the little perks like supplying shampoo and and body wash in the showers. Gym owner is always on top if the newest protocols and keeping up with new equipment and fixes anything that's broken. Theres nothing more frustrating seeing your favorite machine broken for months on end and that just doesnt happen here. This is a little gem in downtown Castlegar.

Fantastic experience: Heather, owner of Recharge Fuel & Fitness, is my best friend. You might be thinking to yourself, 'Heather is your friend, of course you're going to give a good review...' and you'd be right But in all honesty, I'm giving a 5-star review because of all the hard work Heather puts into the gym. While I haven't had the opportunity to work out in the gym, I have had the chance to see it in person and to see pictures of the transformation along the way... what else is there to say but WOW! Not many people have the patience, drive and ability to work through all the challenges like Heather does! I'm so proud of what Heather has achieved and must say, I'm a little jealous that Castlegar has such an awesome gym in their community. Although I live in a bigger city, we definitely do not have a gym like this. We have the usual "big name" gyms where you are just a number and the owners/staff don't take the time to get to know you. It's not easy being a business owner, but if anyone is up for the job, it's Heather, because she is one of the kindest, most fair, accepting and professional people you'll ever meet!! Way to go Heather, for giving Castlegar a space for community members to pursue better health and fitness that is safe, clean and welcoming.

I got so much help, understanding and effort to make my gym experience comfortable and enjoyable. Also , she is totally amazing the way she handles the rules . Super clean. Fantastic experience: If you have not heard of Recharge Fuel & Fitness, let me be the first to say "Wake Up!!!" I am a pretty big guy, and I know my fuel & fitness. I lift here every time I feel like getting swole for the beach. The equipment is fresh and delicious, the way it should be. The 45 lb plates are cut right and the scenery is spicy. And the new pec deck machine is to DIE FOR! The prices are amazing. It's well done fuel & fitness, prepared right in front you by dedicated fuel & fitness enthusiasts. Here's how you can tell they know their stuff. They provide you with the perfect amount of heavy things and the foam rollers are nice and thick. They are NOT messing around. It's worth the stop. Lift well my friends. P.S. I did the Bench Press for dessert and F-ME was it good!

Negative experience: Gym used to be waayyyy more accommodating with drop ins! I'm a travel nurse, but now apparently I have to be an "exclusive" long term member just to get a pump.... jeeze talk about things getting to your head, overinflated ego much?

The reviews that are low have a story, one person decided to bring multiple people even though it’s NOT allowed! You must follow the rules... Clean shoes, cleaning your equipment and putting it back. Respect the rules.

Negative experience: paid monthly fee by EMT. covid happened and she told me that she would hold my membership based on the fact she was closed. when she opened I asked if I was allowed back in . She said no and told me I basically wasn’t allowed back. I asked for my money back because I wasn’t allowed to use my membership, even though some of my friends were attending. she then became rude and hostile. I screen shot her what she had said to me and she gave me my money back but told me I was never allowed back. she should stick to her restaurant next door.

Negative experience: Not telling about equipments but the owner of the gym is mad she don't know how to even speak with people this kind of people are just born to spread negative vibes. She dont care about others feelings in short I can say she is racist and dont know how to run a business. Well I suggest she needs to leave the business if she can't change her attitude towards people.

Fantastic experience: Really nice to see a new owner putting some love into the gym. It's been opened up and feels much more spacious. Super friendly and welcoming too. Update December 2019: the gym now has bumper plates for deadlifts. What a great addition.

New ownership have renovated the gym and started adding new equipment. The new owners have addressed my concerns when asked and I’m unsure why there are some many 1 star reviews.

All active members were warned that their memberships would be revoked if they were caught letting others in. She is not racist and is in fact one of the most open and caring people in our community.

So many new improvements, not only with the facility itself, but also with new rules and boundaries being set in place. This will allow us as members to continue to enjoy a safe and pristinely kept environment. The new owner is energetic, full of new ideas, keen to accept everyone, kind and available for any questions or concerns at anytime. Those claiming she is racist either did not sign the proper forms/waivers, or have broken the rules in some way to not allow their return.

Fantastic experience: Such an amazing gym! I couldn’t imagine they could have done better job taking over the gym! So kind and friendly, they go above and beyond for all the previous members and are adjusting to ownership very well! We are lucky to have you as the new owners! Great price for the gym, I travel for work, so the price for the gym (considering it’s also 24 hours for those who get a key fob) it’s great! I also saw a review (or 2, which are exactly the same so prob the same person on 2 accounts) Calling heather a raciest, I do not believe this comment at all, she has always been super friendly to everyone in the gym no matter their “race” I have been to the gym enough to have seen this first hand So obviously whoever wrote “The new owner was so rude and racist. I went there to renew my membership but she didn’t even listen to me.” did something against the rules, or hadn’t signed her new waiver forms, because it doesn’t matter what race you are, if you break rules or don’t have the proper forms filled out, you’re not getting a membership.

Fantastic experience: New owner has made a world of difference to this facility and listens to what her clients request. Lots of new equipment as well many cosmetic upgrades. Heather is always open to feedback and welcomes everyone without discrimination

Fantastic experience: New owner is super nice and friendly. Lots of equipment and never too busy. Has a shower and change room. Not much open space for freestyle exercises, but has a private area in the middle for women to use if they want. 65 per month, unless you lock in for longer. 24 hours. No idea why the bomb of one star reviews from accounts that haven't reviewed anywhere else.

Every time I go in there is something new happening for improving the members experience. New equipment is being purchased, New TV's installed, Walls are being move, Upgraded lighting... Fantastic experience: I love this gym! It’s become my home away from home and I am very grateful to see someone put so much time and energy into making it into a gym I can be proud to be a member of. Heather, gym owner, is very friendly and approachable. She took the old dirty abandoned gym and gave it a complete rebuild. She knows true gym etiquette and has step up to enforce it with previous members that didn't have respect for the gym or fellow members. This is not an easy job to enforce the rules but I sure appreciate it as it makes it a great place to work out for all. New equipment, Repaired old equipment, new construction, new look Anyone that loves the gym knows it take work and dedication to build something amazing. If you are beginning, returning to the gym or long time fitness enthusiast this gym has it all and continues to grow and add new equipment to keep its members happy. ☺️

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of this gym for years. I cannot express enough gratitude for Heather and the monumental changes she has already made in such a short time. Heather is an amazing person who has put a great amount of trust in the members by keeping 24 hour access open. Unfortunately there was a group of ‘students’ who decided to take it upon themselves to use their 24 hour privileges to bring their friends in to train for free. Their retaliatory feedback is amusing. If you want a clean, bright, positive and energetic place to train where the members are treated like royalty, then Recharge is for you. Anyone and everyone of all ages, levels and races are absolutely welcome. All you have to do is follow the rules. Pretty simple! Thank you, Heather!
