Fantastic experience: This place is amazing - 5+ star experience. Visiting Canmore for a week - was able to sign up and pay for a weekly pass on their website and enter the facility using my phone. Visited every single day - never too busy. Very clean and excellent equipment. Note that you cannot use outdoor shoes in the facility - keep that in mind. They also have free WiFi and phone chargers available - nice touch for visitors.

Positive experience: Just a little under 5*. Everything about the gym is pretty awesome, the quality of equipment, everyone is friendly, and the bathrooms/ showers are great. I’m gonna be critical and say the reason I’m not giving 5* is because the day passes are pretty rough (25$), and one may argue the gym needs more equipment. But I am being very critical and it’s still one of the best gyms I’ve been to in a long time. And for hardcore gym goers it’s the best gym in Canmore for sure.

Fantastic experience: This is the best gym in town! Sandra is such a wonderful human! She got my confidence up to start getting back to the gym after so long. I did a few sessions and will be doing the full package in the future. Everyone is so kind and all around it has a really great atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal gym. Did a drop in. Every piece of equipment and handle I used was like brand new. Rogue has incredible quality. Forgot a piece of clothing in the gym. Text Chad and he answered and let me in within minutes. If I’m ever in the area again won’t think twice about coming here!

Fantastic experience: Visiting Canmore, and definitely needed a workout after the long drive… Drove past Athletic Evolution and it looked like a good place. Purchased the 3 visit pass at a decent price… Not too bad… After walking in. I was immediately impressed by how clean it was… Free lockers in the locker room. Another great bonus… Equipment was in great shape… Definitely worth it and highly recommended… Good job to the owner… Can’t wait to visit again

Fantastic experience: I am a University Athlete working in Canmore for the summer, and Athletic Evolution was exactly what I needed to keep up with my training schedule over the summer. The staff are approachable, very helpful, the gym was always clean, as well as the monthly options for a membership was exactly what I needed. Couldn’t recommend this place enough for all your workout needs!

Fantastic experience: Very clean and updated gym. The check in process as a guest was also a big plus (digital fob administered via an app). Lots of new Rogue and Hammer Strength machines, with more to come based on a convo with the owner. Definitely a solid gym if you want to squeeze in a workout while in Banff. Only downside is the day pass is pretty steep ($25). Otherwise, an all around good local gym.

Fantastic experience: Athletic Evolution is excellent. I've tried all the other gyms and found Athletic Evolution to be the best over all. Clean, new equipment, well managed, good mix of people. I have been a member with Athletic Evolution for years, my son has grown up with Athletic Evolution and it's inspired him to push his hockey to the next level..

Fantastic experience: You can eat on the floor. It looks that clean. The owner (I think) is looking for marks on the floor very closely. The machines are mostly made by rogue or hammer strength. Had issues with the app but Chad fixed it quickly. $25 per visit is a bit steep but worth spending the time pumping my skinny aaahhmms ‍♂️Definitely the best gym in Canmore!

Fantastic experience: I was visiting in town for the holidays and came in for a workout. Was pleasantly surprised to find such a top notch facility. Whoever outfitted this gym focused on equipment quality and functionality of the space. The result is an excellent spot to train. I've been going to gyms all over western canada for 20 years now and I highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: This gym is amazing. We were looking for a good gym for powerlifting during our vacation and found this- and it made our trip so much better. It was perfect for squat, bench and deadlift, and the gym also had a lot of well picked machines that were perfect for complentary training to powerlifting. I really recommend this gym, and I know for sure what gym to go to if I come back!

Fantastic experience: Whenever I’m in Canmore to visit this is my number 1 gym to train out of. Clean, functional, and friendly! They’ve got every piece of equipment I need to get a solid training session in that I have trouble finding at other global gyms. Such as a female barbell, bumper plates and a selection of change plates, as I do Olympic weightlifting and it can be hard to accommodate that. The big windows make the space feel very open and appropriately placed mirrors throughout. Finally, a great variety of equipment to target the muscles you need without it being crowded, easily Athletic Evolution gets 5 starts from me!

Fantastic experience: I've trained at Athletic Evolution since 2015. The facility management clearly strives to maintain their reputation as the greatest gym in the bow valley, and the cleanest, tidiest, and best maintained gym I've ever stepped in. In my time with AE there have been two gym renovations that keep the space looking new and modern and there is a constant inflow of high quality and updated equipment that helps keep training interesting. If you're looking for a drop in work out or a yearly membership at competitive rates, I give my highest recommendation to Athletic Evolution.

Fantastic experience: The signing up for a day pass was a little convoluted and confusing, but once that happened, the gym was really nice, well equipped and not very busy which was great. They're in the middle of renovation so some areas are patchy and still in works. Other than that, had a great workout nonetheless.

Fantastic experience: Entrance & parking are on the west side of the building. There's 15 doors on all sides of the him and they're all locked and there's no signage on any of them. I did the day pass which takes longer than other gyms, but it wasn't too bad. Do it online on your phone to make it faster. Once you finally get in the gym, it's a great weightlifting gym. New good equipment. Well spaced. I'd definitely join if I lived here.

Fantastic experience: Over the years I have tried all the Canmore area gyms. Some are not longer in business. I have used the Nordic Centre as well. Athletic Evolution is the best bar none. Fair cost, excellent equipment, professional, courteous, and present (!) management. Considerate patrons and although I do not require the services of the professional trainers I have come to know them by name and they are also a credit to their craft and the gym. Overall this is a very tidy package and I endorse this gym highly.

Fantastic experience: This gym exceeds in quality equipment, friendly staff, and houses the best trainer in the Bow Valley, Chris Riehle. I’ve tried a few gyms in my years of training and nothing compares to Athletic Evolution. The cleanliness and the care that is put into this gym and it’s equipment is beyond phenomenal. I highly suggest Athletic Evolution over any gym in the Bow.

Fantastic experience: My partner and I have trained here for a few years now. Chad and Chris go above and beyond for their members. The gym is constantly evolving to suit the needs of the people who train there. It truly feels like a community of lifters, and those who choose to pursue fitness. Oh...and they have a 100# ketlebell. Never ever leaving ever.

Fantastic experience: The gym floor and their locker room/bathroom floor is cleaner than that of my home. Vacuumed and cleaned impeccably daily. As for exercise equipment, they're decked out with rogue. They even have lighter bars (7kg/15kg) too. They have a shower, no sauna, cool music, resistance bands, ab wheels, rings, pretty much everything you need in a gym. Owners seem nice too. Not very busy in the morning.

The equipment is top of the line, the staff is super friendly, and the whole experience and gym culture there is second to none. If you ever get a chance to pick Chris's brain on anything fitness related, or workout with him you will feel like a new person. He is amazingly knowledgeable and an amazing guy.

Fantastic experience: Athletic Evolution is easily the best gym in the valley (and the best gym I have ever been to). The environment is clean and welcoming, with a very safe and judgement free vibe. The staff go above and beyond to make sure everyone’s needs are met, and they genuinely care about you having a positive experience. A membership here is money well spent, especially considering you are supporting local as opposed to a chain gym! They are also currently renovating, so it is only going to get better! Cancel your anytime fitness membership and come here instead

Fantastic experience: My girlfriend and I are in the area on vacation for 10 days. We got our weekly pass for only 50$, also both felt very welcomed by the owner. The gym is probably one of the best gym I've seen for a gym this size. Everything is just so clean and sparkly. This gym is filled with brand new equipment and Hammer Strength machines ! Would highly recommend it !

Fantastic experience: I started going to AE with my dad in 2014. Since then, it has become my outlet. The atmosphere of AE is like no other! The AE team, the equipment, and the people make it the best gym in town! The cleanliness and evolution of the space and equipment are a bonus!

Fantastic experience: Positive: Quality One of the top gyms I have trained at!! The owner does a great job of keeping the gym clean and up to date, always finding new ways to upgrade the gym. AE has a great variety of functional based training equipment as well, including battle ropes, a sled with turf, Keiser cable system and so much more!

Fantastic experience: I think this is the go-to gym in Canmore. First, during the pandemic the owner takes good care of the facility, with thorough cleaning and supplying sanitizers+wipes. The floor space is big and open and most of the times there's more than enough room to do your thing. I highly appreciate the section for functional training and multiple barbell racks. A professional and welcoming atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: This is one of the best gyms in the bow valley. If you want a variety of equipment, in a very clean spacious setting, this is the gym for you! Fantastic experience: My boyfriend and I stayed in Canmore for 5 weeks and we are SO lucky our stay was a 5 minute walk from this gym. This is hands down the cleanest, most well equipped gym we have been too (and we are pretty hardcore when it comes to training). We bought a month pass and the staff was absolutely incredible. Chad was ALWAYS so welcoming and you could tell how passionate he was about his gym. I want to go back to Canmore just to go back to this gym!!!! Even if you are staying in Banff, I would recommend driving the 20 minutes for the gym. Awesome facility, great equipment and even better staff.

Fantastic experience: Athletic Evolution is a refreshing change of pace from most modern 'big box' gyms. The machines are all well taken care of and obviously quite new, they also provide plenty of cleaning supplies and disinfectant in accordance to COVID19 measures. Most importantly, the trainers are kind, exceptionally helpful and are constantly looking to add value to your training program. If you're looking for a trainer make sure to ask for Chris Riehle at the gym - one of the best out there! I would highly recommend dropping in for a workout if you're looking for a top of the line boutique gym.

Fantastic experience: I picked up a 7 day pass while on vacation in Canmore and must say I loved the facilities. The gym was well equipped with ample space to move around. I managed to arrive every day between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM with only a handful of others working out. I would definitely recommend this gym for someone looking to get in a few workouts while on vacation as well as for residents of the Canmore area.

Fantastic experience: The best in the Bow Valley. AE has awards won to demonstrate that. I approached Chad when I needed a Training Facility 3 years ago, after being in Canmore for 11 years. He welcomed me and was very professional when it came to my membership options. This is my home away from home. The people here and the atmosphere has always been a positive experience for me. Carla sells supplements and accessories which is very convenient.
