Fantastic experience: Bright, clean and spacious facility! Walking in you are always greeted with a smile by friendly and uplifting front desk staff who are quick to help with any questions/needs you may have. The experienced training staff (from Group Fitness to PT's) are all fantastic! No matter your area of focus they have a trainer who can help you not only meet but exceed your health and fitness goals!

Negative experience: Equipment is always broken, take weeks to repair. Front desk people are nice. Trainer lucy is unprofessional, sickening employee . Should not be working in a commercial gym like Goodlife. Un-willing to help when needed. Extremely judgmental, makes you feel uncomfortable, insecure and unwelcome. Honestly it makes me not want to come to the gym i’ve coming to for over 6 years. From now I will take my business elsewhere.

Negative experience: Some of the equipments are not working. They put in 24 hrs sign but it’s not true. They should take that down because it’s misleading. They have 2 doors but only one side is open and the other is locked with no signs. My hands were freezing and doors aren’t opened on both sides. It’s more inclined to right handed people. Locket #1 smelled like body odor like honestly I’m not even kidding. Lights are dull too. When you scan your card, the “automatic” door doesn’t open either.

Negative experience: Equipment is run down. Some have been taped off for weeks. I’ve complained about the same cable machine 3 times in a month. Half of the equipment is cardio related, but the least used. I find I’m always waiting on a bench or machine to keep my workout going. Not happy. $1000 per year for a facility with run down gear, long wait times for a bench/machine and minimal amenities. I’m regretting getting a membership here, especially when there’s other gyms that are cheaper with better equipment and amenities. I’ll be changing to a new gym soon.

Negative experience: Horrible communication from management. I tried being respectful when canceling my membership. They kept taking money out of my account even after I canceled!!!!! I had to make this public. Do not trust this gym they are not careful when it comes to your credit card information!!!!

Fantastic experience: After touring a couple of gyms in the area, this one was the last one, and we had an amazing tour with EJ. He answered all of our questions, and went above and beyond in providing not just excellent customer service, but also knowledge in recognizing customers needs. Highly recommend this gym, and if you are not sure about it, I believe they will welcome you with open arms to answer all your questions or concerns.

Positive experience: I joined February 2023, staff are very friendly and nice. It gets very busy, can't wait till they move to the new location in Creekside. Gym is clean, but it could be cleaner. Men's sauna doesn't work very well. Lots of parking.

Negative experience: I like the gym & all the equipment plus the staff is great & have been a member since it opened the facility. The last few years people leave bottles by the machines & go off working on another machine & I find this really is a hindrance to my workout, members taking up time working on 2 machines at a time..I am really considering looking for another gym…I did call & talk to management & they said it is part of there workout taking up 2 machines at a time… not a happy member…

Fantastic experience: This gym has the best customer service. The front desk agents are kind and polite. They offer towels with no problem or drama. I spend over 6k a year in trainers at the 64 location and to get a towel is almost impossible or with tons of attitude. I understand it cost $10 more but it’s nice when the agents offer it. Who ever works at the front desk evening at Sarcee, kudos to them

Negative experience: Manager was rude, didn't respect my time and was very unhelpful, stating " company policy" and refusing to solve the problem. He literally compared me using a body scale for 5 minutes when "new policy" doesn't allow me to with stealing something from the gym. Absolutely delusional and racist

Negative experience: Open 24hrs? Just showed at 838om and they are closed
Negative experience: Nice people and facility however, head office is hard to work with. I signed up at Beacon Hill and told them I was going on an extensive set of vacations as I had recently retired. I gave them a hold date at the time I signed up and I was assured that it was fine. According to the Goodlife contract, a hold is limited to one month to a maximum of 6 months. However, they continued to pull from my bank account and offered no compensation when I pointed out their error. It was their mistake but I have to pay for it.

Negative experience: Why will you be no longer offering tanning at the new location ? It is a nice option to offer, relatively low maintenance for the facility other then periodically replacing bulbs depending on use/frequency. This is disappointing

Positive experience: I echo the words that Faye is great. She is amazing! She just makes you feel welcome but she takes care of the facility. You can always see her going around and making sure there are enough supplies. Unfortunately, that's not always the case for other members of the front desk. The other aspect to improve would be the towels service. I was told that I was able to grab Towels as needed. One day I got one and was told that they couldn't give me a second one because there weren't enough. When I plan to have a good day at the gym I believe two Towels shouldn't be a challenge but it is Other than that the gym is quite busy but has good vibes and most of the staff is friendly and helpful

Positive experience: I recently joined Good Life gym to try to get a little more physically active. I am quite pleased with the equipments they have. I also like that their staff are always polite and helpful. The assistant general manager, Noah, stands out. He is always patient, polite and helpful. He was one of the reasons I decided to join. Positive experience: As expected from a chain gym. Decent enough equipment to get the job done. Change rooms are disgusting, I'd never walk barefoot and forget about using the showers. Gross! Atmosphere is nothing to speak of and the personal trainers look very disinterested in what they are being paid to do. It's unfortunate Calgary doesn't have better gym options especially in the NW. I might switch soon.

Positive experience: Friendly staff and gym is for the most part clean. Only negative is some equipment needs some fixing/replacing. Like some exercise bikes makes noise while pedaling and are missing some of the foot straps.

Fantastic experience: I've been training with Josh Lusby for sometime now and want to write this review as a testament to the amazing service he has provide me with. I came in to meet Josh with 2 chronic and 1 acute injurys that were starting to hinder my mobility and strength to the point where it was affecting everyday life and especially career. With Josh's expertise, patience and ability to adapt to how my body was feeling with every work out and change programs to fit my daily needs, I am happy to say that my pain has been greatly reduced and my strength has easily doubled as to my baseline when I initially came in. I had been going to physio and massage for quite some time but training with Josh really stepped up my recovery and has now gotten me back to doing the hobbies I enjoy again, not to mention keeping me physically cable enough to excell in the physical testing required for my job. Josh made training an event to look forward to in the morning with his extensive knowledge, humor, and overall personality. This was easy worth every dollar I spent and every hour put in with him to feel as strong and healthy as I do now! Thank you Josh for making me feel strong and healthy again after many years of me struggling to do so!

Negative experience: Gym management needs to handle known people who are on steroids going around harrassing patrons because they do not want to be on film as patrons record their own workout. No expectation of privacy in public. Also, train all staff to learn escalate techniques.
Hey! We want all of our members to have an enjoyable experience in our clubs. The situation you are referring to is not a new video, and we became aware of it at the time of the original posting. The issue has been appropriately handled. Please feel free to reach out to management if you have any suggestions on how we can improve your experience!
Negative experience: I want the management to look into this. I went here at around 10PM today 3/15/24 for a quick workout and a shower after a long day at work. I am aware that this gym closes at 11PM today but still I went here because it is my go to gym and it is close to my house. The moment I entered the gym the lady who is at the front counter told me that the gym closes at 11PM and I said okay. She didn't even said Hi or Hello unlike the other workers who works here. Then while I am getting a towel a bunch of guys entered the gym and she even greeted them. I was at the shower and I am almost done at exact 11 PM I know they close at exact 11 but the lady who is working tonight does not have the courtesy to even check if there are still people inside the locker room or shower area. She is so rude that she cut my lock then checked my locker and bag. Is that even part of the policy? or is she trying to steal something from my stuff. I know you guys can kick people out. I clearly understand that I needed to be out of the premises at 11PM but 3-5 mins is not even that long for her to wait or even just check or AT LEAST INFORM me that I need to leave. I am not paying $80 a month just to get this kind of treatment and just to get disrespected. It is so rude. I can provide you my membership ID for proof but I might just cancel my membership tomorrow. I will also report this to the higher management team. This is not okay.

Negative experience: I usually visit this gym every night with no issue. Unfortunately on March 15th 10-11pm I had a bad experience. I came in at 10 pm with a friend and an associate who was a female with glasses told us that they close at 11 I told her I’m well aware and that we were just trying to go to the gym. A group that came right after us was greeted by her which was disrespectful and we felt discriminated. We finished our workout at 10:30 pm and I took a shower after my workout like i usually do. As I was going back to my locker and this was ONLY at 10:50pm to grab my stuff the female associate was cutting my lock open with her giant pliers and was looking through my bag. I confronted her and she told me they were already closed. I told her I had 10 minutes to spare to grab my stuff and leave and she has NO RIGHT to go through my belongings. I hope management sees this and teach their employees customer service and GYM ETIQUETTE.

Positive experience: I'm very disappointed by this gym - given this place is massive there is literally no real pull up bar someone can use except in the personal training area. How can you not have a proper pull up bar, that should essential. You can't call yourself a gym and not have that. Update (3 weeks after Owner's response - Jan 23, 2024): No change at all.

Positive experience: The equipment/machines in this gym are in such rough shape now. I’d rather go to other GL locations where things are repaired and replaced when needed. It’s like an oversized dusty basement gym where all the pieces were purchased at a garage sale. Such a great and convenient location for NW residents too - disappointing.

Negative experience: UPDATE SEPT 2024 This gym lists itself as 24hr then is closed Saturday evening @830pm.... This gym has ripped leather and is constantly running out of paper towels. When the gym equipment is reported as broken, the staff tell me that the owner does not want to pay for the repair because the equipment is too old.. Today one of the quick machines was squeaking very loudly and I don't believe it will get fixed. I wouldn't go to this gym as they do not believe in maintaining their equipment or replacing it.

Negative experience: The most annoying thing about all gyms are content creators and influences! Imagine you own a small grocery store and someone decides to use your store to run a cooking show blog. Or they just up and decide to do a music video in your business. You work out, you are tired after a set, and suddenly you turn around and someone is giving you a dirty look because you stood up and got in their shot. I was doing leg press one day, my last set was to go to failure,I rolled off the machine exhausted, stood up, turned around and tripped over a tripod. You want to run our own blog business? Then rent your own space and buy your own equipment. These little narcissist are annoying, perhaps alberta occupational health and safety should address this. It's not a coincidence that you have clear shots. It's because people find themselves walking around you, avoiding where you are. Gym content creators/influences are becoming far too common. Time to nip it in the bud. Others should not have to be inconvenienced just because you are addicted to "likes".
Negative experience: Me and my Wife had previously gone to this gym I have been a member since 2020 but, with the cost of membership ( $120 a month for two people) I would expect better upkeep tons of broken machines... they have had machines broken here for over one year!!! along with every forth treadmill is broken. I ended up going to a different gym for a lower cost and they actually care enough to have proper working machines will not be returning to good life anytime soon what a sad excuse for a gym

Positive experience: The staff are extremely friendly, the equipment and change rooms are clean, and the atmosphere feels safe. Unfortunately a star was lost as most of the equipment is older and a few of the machines are in not so great condition. All in all i would still highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great place to workout

Positive experience: Trainer Josh's ability to motivate and inspire goes far beyond the gym floor. His unwavering encouragement, patience, and commitment to my progress have been nothing short of inspirational. He listens attentively, understands individual needs, and adjusts training plans accordingly, creating an environment that fosters growth and continuous improvement. The gym has older and broken equipment. It needs improvements as compared to other clubs in city.

Negative experience: This place sucks for the size of it ! Only 1 machine of each or about that… only 2 flat benches … not many free seats.. you are always stuck waiting on someone to finish . I really hate coming to this place, a disappointment everytime. **answer for the owner: You clearly don’t care what we think with that kind of answer. It maybe suck to get a review this way but you should take that as Constant maybe suggest that you would look into what can be done to address those issues? Looking at other reviews and some are also lining up with mine… improve your gym.

Negative experience: Use to love working out at this gym…. Unfortunately has gone down hill. Free weights are a mess, equipment broken and never replaced. Workers sit at front desk on counter instead of ensuring paper towel, weights and gym is clean. People are super friendly but unfortunately seems they don’t care compared to other good life’s in calgary

Negative experience: Terrible gym. Not enough racks. They won’t let you use the racks in the pt area when noones using them. Where is the logic in that? Terrible customer service.

Fantastic experience: I’d say this is one of the most crowded Goodlife in Calgary, and I haven’t even been here during peak hours. Other than that it’s really good and has a great variety of machines and the people and staff here are really kind.

Negative experience: You cannot have anything here, the internet is terrible, half the equipment is broke (they’ll take a good 6 months to fix it) it’s crowded as hell, the bars and ropes are ALWAYS missing, you pay $70/month. Just amazing, I’m waiting on LA fitness to come to Calgary and I’m outta here. TERRIBLE GYM!

Negative experience: Pretty good Gym. Front desk staff are generally good, helpful and professional, especially the regular front desk staff. I think the staff have improved over the last 2 years as far as keeping the men’s washroom cleaner. The interior upgrades this past year are appreciated for sure. I would up my rating to 4 or 5 when I see staff wipe down the machines/equipment on a regular basis, because I never see that happen. I also highly suggest replacing most of the cardio machines.

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym for all of your needs. There is a lot of space and clean and modern equipment. They do a great job of cleaning and maintainig the gym floor and the change rooms/wash rooms. There is an artificial turf area for sled push/pulls which is a nice addiiton. Overall it is a great place to work out!

Negative experience: As mentioned by others, the state of this facility is shabby at best. There has been anywhere from 6-10 pieces of equipment broken for the past couple of months with no end in sight. Many other machines are barely functioning or not very smooth to operate. There hasn’t been a new piece of equipment in what seems to be years. Two of the TV’s in the giant TV wall are broken and often the satellite signal is “lost” or unavailable. The customer service is also terrible. Many times the front desk is not manned and you rarely ever see any employee going around cleaning or tidying up equipment. I have tried speaking to a front counter employee on numerous occasions over the past two weeks but they can never give an answer on when the equipment will be fixed. The last excuse I heard from them was that there is only one equipment technician for the entire city, and because Beacon Hill is a small club, they get serviced last. GoodLife is a multi million dollar corporation…hire more technicians! The employees will often state there is nothing they can do and to speak to the manager. The problem is, the manager never seems to be around, especially in the evenings. My father and I have been waiting two weeks for the manager to contact us after we left our names but have never received a call. Why are we paying full price for a half functioning gym? The only reason I stay is because of proximity to my house, otherwise I would save my money and go elsewhere. They spent all this money painting the walls, but they can’t be bothered to update their equipment. Stop cheapening out GoodLife and get your club in order! Update: We are now into February with no changes to the equipment being fixed as of last week. I was emailed personally by the club manager who stated they hoped to have them fixed by January…oh and the giant multi-tv board now has three broken TV’s out of nine. We can almost play tic tax toe!

Fantastic experience: The reason of sharing my experience is the best part of my life is happening in this location of goodlife. Staff are amazingly helpful. Customer service really means to this location. Anytime you need a help they are there for you. I met Nick, the manager, couple of times and he was really helpful. Simon, the trainers manager is the real manager. He really cares about his clients. He listens to you and he provides you with anything you need. My personal trainer, Nikita, is an awesome girl. I have no reason to give up. I see the great progress and they all are reason of keeping going and doing my best. Thank you all for making this location the best place of experiencing the real pleasure.

Fantastic experience: Beacon Hill location has been great. Facility is clean and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. When I started back at the gym after surgery I stared in team training, and continue to do so as the trainer (Jordanne) has been amazing and the team/ group of people have been motivating to continue to go.
