Fantastic experience: I am a member of this club for more then 10 years, during the covid lockdown I left a club , then came back. I am so glad to be here . This is the best fitness group and facility in the world. This the 5 star everything from organisation , administration, management, high class people, also steam room I am enjoying a lot and it’s important for me.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Aurora Athletic Gym for over a year now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best fitness environments I’ve experienced. The staff are incredibly friendly and always welcoming, which makes every visit enjoyable. The gym is spotless and consistently well-maintained, creating a clean and comfortable space to train in. The overall atmosphere is just perfect — motivating without being overwhelming.

Negative experience: I’m extremely disappointed with how this gym handles members’ personal information. I recently discovered that my private account details were shared with another member—something they should have never had access to. This is a serious violation of privacy, and it raises major concerns about how securely they manage sensitive information. When I brought this up, the response was dismissive, and no real steps were taken to address the issue. If you value your privacy, I’d strongly recommend thinking twice before signing up. Members should feel confident that their personal details are protected, not casually passed around. I will be taking further action to make sure others are aware of this. Edit to add a response to the owner: A friendly greeting is not the problem—the issue is that a staff member told my cousin the exact date of my last gym visit, information that he had no way of knowing otherwise. That is a clear violation of my privacy. If the gym does not respect personal information, what else is being shared without consent? This experience has seriously damaged my trust in this facility. I want others to be aware that their personal details may not be secure here.

Negative experience: Wanted to cancel the membership. As I have about a week left before it ends and am moving. They did not let me and said I have to give them one months notice….. for what it’s the end of the term and I don’t want another month. They also force you to sign up for 3 months when you register They have predatory practices. Find a better gym
Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for around four years and have only positive things to say about it. I’ve worked out at many other gyms before this one, but none come close in quality. The equipment is excellent and well-maintained. The staff is very friendly and takes the time to get to know your name, and the personal trainers here are very knowledgeable and have extensive experience with fitness and weight training. The management is also excellent and flexible. I’ve got 10 + people that I know to join this gym, and they are obsessed. The people I know who joined this gym were at other gyms prior but had trouble being consistent due to issues with crowding and an unwelcoming atmosphere. However, since joining the Aurora Athletic Club, they have been consistently working out and love coming to work out. If you want a good gym, this is it.

I initially signed up for 12 sessions but ended up doing 20 because of the incredible progress I made. Mehdi has helped me tremendously, and I’ve never felt so good about my body. Unfortunately, I’m leaving for business, but I can’t wait to return. It’s been a great experience. Thank you!"

Fantastic experience: I've had the chance to try this gym a few times as a day pass member. It may be a bit overpriced compared to other places for me, but if that's not an issue for you, this gym is definitely worth every penny. It's clean, has great equipment, and the staff is very professional. From the front desk to the trainers and managers, everyone is friendly, experienced, and helpful. Highly recommend

Negative experience: Everything that was said in the reviews are true. Please do not go here. Only come here if you want to get scammed! Save your money and find a different club, because this one is not worth your time or money at all. The owners of this facility are jerks. I am currently a father of two children and my doctor said I desperately have to lose weight, so I really needed to go to this gym but could not commit full time because they keep overcharging me. I am going to say this again, please do NOT go here!

Fantastic experience: My family of 4 and I have been a member of Aurora Athletic Club since 2021 and I can't say enough about my experience here. Super quiet at all times of the day, clean and all the machines/equipment you could need. The front desk staff are super friendly + helpful, and the manager Mike is great with any help regarding personal fitness. Members are always super friendly... they have a great community here. If you are looking for a quiet and clean gym with some great members and staff, I couldn't recommend it enough.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of AAC since before this management team took it over a few years ago. They’re one of the few clubs that stuck with their customers through COVID and beyond. The facility is clean and has everything my family and I need in a club. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and the management makes it feel like a family environment. You don’t get this at LA or Lifetime.

Negative experience: PlEASE READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW THIS CLUB RUNS ITS BUSINESS. Dishonest and fraudulent company to say the least . These blanks( hard to find an appropriate name to describe them correctly and in a polite manner) charged my mom’s Mastercard without her consent two years after she had cancelled her subscription with them. When they were confronted the arrogant manager of the club told my mom he won’t give her money back but she can use the amount he illegally took from her Mastercard as credit to come to their club for a few months. Have no doubt this will be followed through proper authorities to put this arrogant manager who thinks is above the law back in his place. Just know what kind of people they are before registering in this amazing club. I wished there was an option for-5 stars these people don’t deserve to be in business.
Hi Atrin,It’s disappointing to see you commenting on something you were not involved in. Unfortunately as you were not involved in the conversations you don’t have the full story. We would ask that you call and ask to speak to our manager to get all the details. What was done with her membership was exactly what your mom agreed to; before her freeze and at her last meeting with our manager. There was no money taken “illegally”, it was exactly what she agreed to in her contract.
Negative experience: Customer service is awful and untrustworthy. Smells, and they really try and nick and dime you where they can. If that have a problem with your bank, they'll just send you the bill. very angry people canceled my membership when confronted them about it swore at my multiple times over the phone owner was listening admited I never insulted anyone. Will try and intimate you, please don't let your grandparents go here.cant take criticism. Look at the rest of the reviews. I'm sure I'll get blasted, too
An NSF charge is a standard charge for all businesses and is explained in your membership contract. As the owner, I was not involved in the conversation however as soon as I was told about it I personally cancelled your membership immediately. We have a zero tolerance policy for the way you spoke to our staff.
Fantastic experience: I have Been going to this gym for a few months now and i wouldn’t ask for a better place. there is a good variety of equipments, extremely clean and organized , there is Always a friendly staff member at the reception area to greet and welcome you. Great management and so are all their team members. Highly recommended… 10/10

Maryam, the contact you signed was very clearly explained to you before you signed. Unfortunately you deciding to stop payment does not cancel the contract properly. We would have appreciated a different approach on your end to try to resolve this
Negative experience: Disappointed with my gym experience. After halting payments due to lack of use, they continued to charge me for 5 months without notification. When I finally reached out to cancel, I was told I couldn't until I paid the accumulated fees. Not only was this sneaky and desperate, but the manager's response was dismissive. Especially after being a long-term member since 2005 (19 years). Plus, they used my weight loss story for their own promotion without compensation. Beware of such practices! Read the fine print on your contract.
Maureen, there is no gym that would stop charging because you just stopping coming in. You have had multiple correspondences with our staff, management and owner and admitted multiple times that you didn’t cancel your membership. Of course charges are due until you properly cancelled your membership. Aurora Athletic Club has never used any of your pictures, stories or testimonials in any promotions. It is disappointing that after being a long-term member, you did not cancel your membership and now feel the need to bash a club because you did not follow proper protocols.
Negative experience: Very poor management have contacted them many times about cancelling my membership staff seem not to care also and keep billing me while they stated that all payments were done. Would not recommend gym at all better off working out from home then this place.well it’s not letting me reply but I sent it to you guys in December and you guys replied after I put the reviews and you haven’t replied to my email yet so looking forward to the response Mike.

Negative experience: we made it very clear that we no longer were members at this gym. they would not stop billing our CC, so we had to cancel the card.... now they are hunting us with a collection agency!! horrible business practice, stay away from this gym

Negative experience: Having been a member of Aurora Athletic Club for close to three years, I feel I should give an honest review on the gym. Let me start by saying that this gym does not align with the "boutique" or "luxury" labels, though their pricing certainly suggests otherwise, standing at $80 a month with tax. It would be great for the management to reinvest a portion of the membership fees into upgrading the gym. The only thing that Aurora Athletic Club has going for them is that it is not overcrowded when compared to other gyms in the area. However, should a genuinely upscale gym open in Aurora, this gym would either lose a ton of business or close. They also have blocked me on Facebook and Instagram for posting this review. **Pros**: - Not crowded - Staff are nice **Cons**: - Pricing does not reflect the quality of service and amenities. - Old machines, some having the padding fixed with duct tape - No towel services, an expected feature for its price bracket. - The men's locker rooms are old with bad lighting and with persistent water accumulation issues. - Sanitation needs significant improvement. - Evening staff are either on their phones or hanging out with their friends - Peak hours from afternoon to evening are dominated by high school students. - Limited variety of fitness classes, which are not covered in the membership fee (extra 15$ per class) - Subpar fitness accessories, some of which are sourced from generic suppliers (Amazon Basics) - A disproportionate emphasis on cardio equipment and other seldom-used machinery. - Spaces originally intended for fitness repurposed for unrelated businesses such as skincare and martial arts. - Student discount is 2$ off from the original fee - T.Vs which are constantly freezing (wifi issues?) - No A.C in the gym In the end, save your money and look elsewhere. Aurora Athletic Club is not worth it. If things change for the better in the future, I’d be happy to change my review.

In the matter of upholstery repair I would expect since you have been a member for more than 2yrs you would have a better understanding of how these repairs are done. As you have seen several times throughout the years upholstery being repaired in done several units at a time and the equipment is only out of service for 24 hours. The upholstery company we use is not local (so to keep it economic we usually wait to send out approx 5 pieces at a time) However, the upholstery company we use are the best in the business and the quality of their work speaks for itself. As far as the cleanliness of the gym I would challenge you to find a cleaner facility in the entire GTA. The cleanliness of our facility is one of the major reasons people join our gym once they have visited the facility for the first time. We do have a membership option that includes towel service and would be happy to discuss that with you. Please feel free to come by my office to discuss any issues you may have. Fantastic experience: When I joined Aurora Athletic Club I made a choice to have a trainer to help me. Kristen Large is my trainer, the piece of my puzzle to my life that was missing. Kristen has brought the very best out of me, I honestly did not know that this inner healthy person ever existed. I feel such gratitude towards Kristen. The muscle tissue and fat loss and inner healing is my life long dream and Kristen helped me find it! I am forever grateful

Negative experience: The club is not clean, no one cleans the toilets. The equipment is old and mostly not fully functional. The problems of the club have been shared with the management many times, but nothing has changed.
Fantastic experience: Nice clean local gym. Actually, VERY clean! A nice bonus: steam room. The staff is friendly and the owner goes over and beyond to make clients happy. On the Con's: it's quite expensive, there is no swimming pool, group lessons are very limited and not included in base fee. Still, I like it here better than in a large crowded noisy gym. Definitely recommend!
Fantastic experience: I started coming here a couple months ago and working with Kristen as my personal trainer. Being fairly new to the gym environment I was nervous on how I would succeed with the lifestyle change I desired, but after meeting Kristen, she helped build not only my confidence along side a detailed routine but my mindset. since starting I have lost 12lbs and I’m looking forward to completing my future goals with Kristen and the AAC. Negative experience: Gym was great in the past. Not the same anymore especially without Ellio there! Went to that gym for over 9 years but the quality of management, atmosphere and customer loyalty is no longer close to what it used to be or non-existent. During COVID Mike tried to charge my mom's account after she hadn't lived in aurora for over three years and had put her membership on hold before leaving. He also attempted to bill me during COVID when it was explained full well that services hadn't been used since lockdown or after. Not to mention but on top of all this the price jacking has gotten out of control. Plenty of other gyms that are not engaged in desperate and predatory business practices. I'd take your money elsewhere.
Negative experience: Pretty bad experience, Signed up on a year contract and I went 4 times in 2 months based on my working schedule and $80 a month I couldn’t manage at the time. I asked the gym if we could make an exception as I wasn’t even going and had reduced hours at work. Mike said sorry you are signed up for a year and said he would comprise with me and I have to pay 6 months. I have paid this gym $480 for 4 visits. Long story short they don’t care and the only reason I paid was because of my credit score and risk going to collections. lesson learned.

Negative experience: Customer’s be aware this gym is not good place to go to. They have put me in bad situation, although I called them and told them I lost my mom due to Covid and have to leave the country and cancel my membership, when I came back after 4 month I found I been send to collections for membership fee, for services I didn’t use and told them about my situation. They are just greedy company that have no time for their customers and rip people off.
We are very sorry for your circumstances. As we have previously tried to explained multiple times you can not cancel and then expect to not have to pay for services already used. Your overdue account is all for services already used. We have tried to communicate this on multiple occasions with no response or action on your part therefore we had no option other than to bring in an outside source to help us.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff. Clean and organized. The trainers are very professional and really work with you to make a difference in your health and self esteem. They take the time to figure out what works best for the client and then focus on making it happen with you. You would be hard pressed to find a better workout environment. Post Covid: Yes, they have had to raise rates to cover the additional costs of PPE (sanitizer, masks, cleaning cloths, spray bottles, extra labour to wipe down equipment, counters and benches, etc.). But this is happening across the board when it comes to small businesses. The move to bi-weekly billing was announced well in advance, and it doesn't make a difference in one's costs, but it does help a business manage its cash flow. They have been inspected twice by Ontario Health to review their Covid-19 protocols and passed with flying colours both times. They do not want to be the cause of an outbreak so they really take care to follow — and exceed — all the province's health recommendations. Some reviewers have a personal ax to grind. But based on evidence, the AAC does a really good job respecting the health concerns of their users.
Negative experience: Like another reviewer said, I can verify this gym reactivates old accounts after previously cancelling and then disputes the charges despite banking statements showing otherwise. This has happened not only once but 3 times already. They vehemently deny any charges until the owner gets involved personally. This place reeks of fraud and poor management.

Fantastic experience: I had to terminate my membership this week because of increased work pressures due to COVID. I am really disappointed that I have to leave. This gym is very clean, the equipment is nice, and I rarely had to wait for machines because it wasn't overcrowded. The staff were also wonderful; particularly Elio. I would encourage anyone thinking of joining a gym to put this one at the top of their list. You won't be disappointed.
Fantastic experience: Good size facility with everything you need. You never feel overcrowded and members are very respectful. Have seen consistently upgraded equipment and space for the members. Boutique style club with a great atmosphere and environment.
Fantastic experience: Very clean update boutique gym with brand new state of the art workout equipment. Separate large rooms for workout classes of your choice and levels. Staff are always friendly and very professional.

The training staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, and my trainer, Andrew, is incredible - I couldn't want for better. Jamie and Peter truly care about the membership and it reflects in the pride that is the Aurora Athletic Club; their efforts to keep the club accessible during these times have been relentless and successful! Negative experience: The gym itself is great - the equipment is usually never out of service and everything is up-to-date. The service at the gym however is terrible to say the least. There's no sense of loyalty towards customers that have been members for a long time. The manager acts as though he doesn't have enough time in the day to even talk to you. The rates continue to go up now $45 Bi-weekly with no reason as to why they are increasing. Even for members that have been there for a while, they will also be charged bi-weekly without any warning. Great gym but poor service.

Negative experience: This gym recently “rebranded”. The name was changed to Aurora athletic, but that’s pretty much the only good change I’ve seen this far. Hours are getting shorter and shorter. They used to close at 11pm but are now closing at 10:30pm. That extra half an hour is beneficial for those who like to work out late, or those who have a busy school/work schedule and cannot make it earlier in the day. I wouldn’t mind a cut to the hours if that meant the membership would be slightly cheaper. In my opinion, membership is overpriced. I don’t see the “club” aspect of this gym, as there is nothing really club-like or luxury about it. During the summertime, their a/c was not working for a long while. There were a few fans placed around but that doesn’t really make any difference to the already hot and sweaty gym. They are out of paper towels quite often, and sometimes some of the bottles of machine cleaning liquid is empty. This is especially annoying when you have to walk all over the gym to try to find a bottle that has some cleaner in it. The change rooms often smell of raw sewage. There is one specific front desk associate that is extremely unfriendly. Customers are constantly walking in and out and you’re lucky if that associate even acknowledges your existence, let alone say a simple “hello” or “goodbye”. Not to mention they’re glued to their cellphones. There was a point in time where the fob scanner was broken, which meant that every time you wanted to work out you’d have to sign in. That was a bit of an annoyance, most people would want to scan their tag and get to working out. There are, however, a few associates at this gym who are extremely friendly and warm. Overall I am not impressed with this gym. Considering all of the issues outlined in this review, I think the membership fee is too high. A cheaper gym, such as Anytime Fitness or GoodLife offer a much better environment. Aurora athletic club is a disappointment.

With all the new updated equipment, a facility that has everything you truly need, a very knowledgeable and always helpful staff this is officially the best gym your going to find in Aurora. I’ve been a member of the bigger corporate style gyms in the area and can honestly say this boutique style, everything for everyone gym hits all the must haves for your fitness goals regardless of your experience. Defiantly worth checking out!

Positive experience: Nice gym has all the equipment you'd need. Most of it is in good shape too. Not too busy either, even at peak times. Would be a five star but there are two wipe down bottles for the entire gym. So basically no one wipes down the equipment. If you're a germaphobe this is not the gym for you.
Fantastic experience: I've been going here 5+ years now, equipment is usually fixed quickly, it has a modern feel, entrance staff and managers are very friendly. Sometimes the music overpowers my in ear head phones, but my on ear masks it well enough.
Positive experience: Great gym with a wide variety of equipment, weights and tools to get a great work out. Only complaint is that it can get quite crowded around 6pm, typically when people finish work.

Negative experience: After years of complaining, they can't seem to fix the lack of air circulation in the aerobics room. There used to be three ceiling fans which helped only somewhat and when one of the fans broke and they eventually replaced it, they never hung it up. It still sits on the floor at the back of the room. Participants then take turns to move the direction of the floor fan to suit them. They don't have a separate thermostat in the room, so the room gets uncomfortably hot and now that they have ex-members from Timberlane, the classes are overcrowded as well.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Fitness Clubs of Canada in Aurors for almost a year and i love it! Clean facilities, friendly staff, great equipment, wide range of yoga, zumba, pilates classes etc.!
Fantastic experience: I switched to this gym after going to Maxximum Fitness in Newmarket. They were cheaper and had way better facilities. My favorite things are the classes (Zumba!!) and the fact that all the treadmills have their own TVs
