Fantastic experience: As someone who struggles with anxiety as well as health issues that make exercise and going out difficult it was a big step for me to join a gym. I recently joined A Foot Above Fitness and it has been a wonderful experience. All the staff are kind. the trainers are not pushy just helpful and the owner Zach is such a wonderful person. Ive only felt positive in that gym never judged and it is the cleanest gym Ive ever been to. The staff are always tidying up and cleaning and you can tell as the place always smells clean even when packed with people exercising. They have wonderful extras as well like a martial arts fight academy and boxing both run by professionals. all their rates are incredibly reasonable. Their location is stellar and I highly recommend checking them out.

I would hands down attend this gym regularly if I lived nearby and encourage anyone living near to do so. Its a great change of pace from the corporate gyms. Negative experience: Emailed to cancel membership a month prior to the next payment and they took it out anyway. I explained I was a father of five and on assistance and couldn't afford it and in return the owner complained about having to pay a fee of 45 dollars due to me canceling my membership. Very disappointed. Managment clearly dosnt care about there members. I'd go to good life or fit 4 less and get a cheaper membership as well as better customer service

Fantastic experience: Great non-commercial gym that cares about good customer service and treating everyone right. They are trans-friendly and have trainers who will help make your goals become a reality. The price is right and their equipment is top-notch. They use every square foot of the floor plan mindfully and do not crowd the machines. They also have some machines which are dual-use like the hack squat/leg press. I also had a special request that was granted and the owner of the gym reached out to make sure I was comfortable and happy. Never in all my years of working out has anyone done that for me.

Fantastic experience: I used the equipment in the gym for the first time yesterday after switching from Goodlife, and the quality is amazing. They have a ton of awesome machines, including many new ones I've never seen before. The owner is a great guy who really looks out for his customers. He truly is the people's champ.

She gave me a tour and I was amazed how awesome it looked. Too bad I live out of town. A full size boxing ring? I've never seen that in a gym before. Well done A Foot Above Fitness! Fantastic experience: The first day I stepped foot in the gym, I realized YES this is for me! The owner is very welcoming and full of knowledge and experience. All my questions were answered in a professional manner. I now train 3 times a week and do not regret my choice. I walked in thinking i was not going to like it, thought i was going to quit BUT thats not the case. Everyone is friendly and my trainer is awesome! Thank you Zach for everything! I could not have done it without your support and push! You really do have a passion for fitness, health and helping people reach their goals. Well, I only went for a day until I realized that the owner was very mean to everyone. They're not welcoming to new comers. They charge way too much for what is available. Very toxic environment.

Most of the fitpros Ive met are simular in nature, however Zach fearlessly and courageously risks His Business and His reputation by not laying down like the lamb led to slaughter. This Facility is very well equipped for a plethora of motivated clients looking to reach their goals. Not only is the owner-Zach qualified, certified and experienced , he has reached and surpassed his own goals and efforts on and off the competitive stage. He is a proponent to physical and mental health and wellness. He surrounds himself and his facility with a like minded fitness pros ready to serve the immediate and surrounding community. I had the pleasure on more than one occasion to experience the energy and positive vibes as well as the cleanliness of the main training areas, change rooms and bathrooms. Zach has even volunteered His Private training facility to local community competitive powerlifting events, supplying an area for official weigh ins for sanctioned meets. Ive read some conflict of interest 1 star reviews here tonight from those who have never met Zach or have been in his facility leaving false reviews based on their difference of opinion or views outside of anything to do with His business operation or clients results. Ive reported all of these reviews as conflict of interest! Ill add he has never been found guilty of any accusations, ill intent or wrong doing to date. He is only interested in maintaining his lawful rights and the rights of His clients! Those who are feeling like they are not enough in this world and who are unhappy with their own lives and who want to be heard in attempts of bastardizing someones personal and professional reputaion so they can feel better about themselves should be ignored and reckognised as such. So in my days of visiting Local Gyms in Ottawa and surrounding areas like , Orleans, Kanata, Nepean, Vanier, downtown Ottawa, Barhaven and every other region in Ottawa Carleton District that is a Private Training Facility , offering Private in person Personal training , or 1 on 1 private personal training or fitness coaching for those wanting results with weight loss coaching, building muscle, conditioning , sports performance, metabolism reboot and of, course transformation challenges, A Foot Above Fitness is the Premiere Private Personal Training Facility in Orleans and Has the best Private Personal 1 on 1 Personal Trainers in Ottawa. You can call me biased if you want but keep in mind I actually have been in this business, had a conversation with the owner on several ocassions, spoke to amazing Personal Trainers & Coaches who have worked Here and on a personal and professional basis will say that every 1 start review Ive read here tonight is an attempt of maliciousness contempt. Fantastic experience: A very clean and well equipped gym. The owner and staff are very friendly. It has everything you need to train seriously yet is not too intimidating for the newbie or average fitness enthusiast. The trainers all seem to have very pleasant and respectful attitudes. If you live in Orleans this is the place to train. This is the type of place where humans thrive!!

Positive experience: So having been here a couple times to take a course or two, I can say the gym is pretty awesome. I like the approach of strictly personal training. You know you’re being taken care of and you know equipment is being well taken care of as well... if you’re picky like myself. With the covid thing going on, I have to say it’s getting a little out of hand this situation. Here’s why: I don’t know Zach personally, but we have interacted a few times, I watched the recordings and interactions with by law. And you can tell the grey areas and wordings are a bit pushed, but whatever. That’s just more on him (understandingly so) than anything. BUT here’s WWHHYY he’s so “whiny and willing to give the covid” (not my words, just reading y’all’s comments on the reviews) FREE FORM FITNESS HAS 5 (FIVE) OPEN AND OPERATING LOCATIONS. Right now as we speak, as I am typing this and as you are reading this THEY ARE OPEN. In ottawa, in the red zone. In my opinion, if he has to get fined. So should they. Sure. He didn’t have signs up. Sure, the mask thing might be a little grey. I am in 0 position to question those who say they have a medical issue and cannot wear a mask. Not my place. Not my circus but from what I can understand he has since fixed this problem. He also has a code system on who enters his facility, an ability to keep track of who is coming and going should there be an outbreak. Just like how restaurants take your name and number, similar to the covid app. Just need a password to get in.. cough.. by law where was yours? And if he has the legal paperwork, proper licensing of that says he can operate under the “personal service” criteria... Take y’all’s political views and agenda outta here. This is a LOCALLY OWNED business trying to survive like many many others... and doing what it needs to do. Legally from my understanding as well. Here’s my review on the facility and trainers: Highly educated and well spoken. Always learning and educating themselves to be better for their clients. Well run. Professional and friendly.

All of the personal trainers there are top performers so the selection is literally next to none!! The place is very clean and comes with this comfortable feeling that is hard to explain. The facility is compact but yet can cover all of your fitness needs from bulking up to become lean to becoming a better athlete. The tight family feel makes it so easy to be there and has me forward to going there all the time (and trust me I am there all the time). If I can recommend this place a 1000 times a day I would. Fantastic experience: Some of the negative comments on here are absurd. The fight to keep gyms open is something that I've supported from the beginning. And I wish more people would do the same. Physical fitness is paramount in these times. People are suffering mentally and physically because of this pandemic. If you can crowd into Home Depot to get supplies for your home renovations during this time then you can certainly go to a gym to take care of your mind and body! And its the healthy ones that have the best chance of beating this virus because their immune systems are stronger for doing so! Keep it up Zach you have my backing all the way!! Jay

Fantastic experience: This place although not as big as a traditional good life or planet fitness probably has everything they do and more.. If you’re looking for a traditional “lifting” workout.. something more cardio based .. or even cross fit.. the gym can accommodate..all the equipment is new and well maintained.. I guess it doesn’t need to be as big as those gyms since they only do personal training and only have a couple Members in the gym at once. The owner and staff are great.. but despite all this the best part about the gym is the super friendly dog you can hang out with if you want. I’ve trained here and sent many friends here as well.

Fantastic experience: I was a bit intimidating to work out after some time off. I suffer from chronic pain and need to be very careful not to hurt myself even more. Nolan made this fun and safe for me, he also encouraged my daughter to think about her physical activity too. What a great atmosphere this place is. Fantastic experience: Came in here looking for a gym to workout in. Zach the owner was actually the first person I saw and met at the gym. He not only took me on a full guided tour but made me feel like it was my own place and that I'm not just a numbered keytag. Gave me a free session, introduced me to the other trainers in there and let me watch the way they train their clients. It's an extremely clean and impressive facility with state of the art equipment. My point is, here you're not just another member or numbered keytag. You're you, this place becomes yours and everyone becomes a family all striving for their personal gains.

I followed my trainer when he started working at A Foot Above little over two years ago and couldn’t be happier of the decision I made. I’ve dealt with Depression, PTSD, Anxiety, Chronic Asthma as well as chronic migraines growing up as a child and continue to battle them as the years go by. Going to A Foot Above Fitness has helped me tremendously. This place is like a second home, a place where people can work on their mental and physical health. The trainers who work there are dedicated in helping those who suffer with a variety of illnesses. They want you succeed in life and become the best version of yourself. It’s unfortunate to see people of our community rate this facility a 1 star. How can one say such horrible things without EVER having stepped foot in the facility.

Fantastic experience: I was at the end of my rope when I first walked into this place , I can tell you they have changed my life, such an amazing group of trainers that work wonders for their clients. If you have never been there before, you need to go. Physical health and mental health do go hand in hand.

He simply doesn’t allow it. This is exactly why he won’t offer you a membership. He prefers to keep his clients personally accountable to their goals! Zach has opened up his training space and his heart on many occasions to support the fitness community. He has hosted many seminars which served to support continued learning for coaches and clients alike. As a business owner, he has always lent an ear to me personally, when I’ve needed another opinion. He never tells me what he thinks I’d like to hear; he simply gives his perspective as it is. We don’t always see eye to eye! And that is exactly the beauty of being shown the other side of the coin; you get a broader more robust picture on which to make decisions. I admire Zach for standing up for what he believes in, even when we don’t agree. This is a man who stands by his convictions to the end goal of a healthier, fitter, more resilient population.
