Fantastic experience: Needed a place to work out while out of town from Regina. This place is awesome! Still not as good as my gym which is Brickhouse Gym in Regina. But very friendly staff and top-notch equipment. Highly recommend if you live in Montreal or if you are just visiting and need to get your pump on! It’s only $25 for a drop in and they let me in for free the first time!

Negative experience: Probablement le “meilleur” gymnase à Montréal… si vous aimez perdre votre temps et votre argent. Quel service exceptionnellement désorganisé, avec un service à la clientèle à la hauteur de sa réputation : inexistant. Aujourd’hui, jour férié au Canada — ce qui, en principe, devrait inciter à un minimum de professionnalisme chez les établissements ouverts. Par précaution, j’ai pris la peine d’appeler avant de me déplacer jusqu’à Monster Gym. On m’a confirmé très clairement que le gym était ouvert et que j’avais droit à une passe gratuite pour la journée. Après une heure de transport (oui, une heure, rien que ça), j’arrive sur place… pour me faire dire qu’il s’agissait d’une erreur d’un de leurs employés (visiblement pas briefé), et que je devais maintenant payer entre 25 et 30$ pour la journée. Charmant. AUSSI… impossible de comprendre ce qu’ils essayaient de m’expliquer, leur français étant… disons-le poliment, approximatif. J’ai donc demandé à parler à une responsable. Celle-ci, visiblement peu concernée par la satisfaction des clients, a simplement décidé de ne pas respecter ce qui m’avait été promis au téléphone. Ma sœur et moi avons donc été refusés. Quelle belle démonstration de professionnalisme et de considération pour les clients. Vraiment. Bravo.

Negative experience: Might seem fine at first but when you start actually attending you’ll quickly realize that the locker rooms are not up kept, machines don’t get maintained, memberships are extremely limited at any decent prices and over all the place does not smell even decent no matter the time. This place has lost what it once had. Save your money.

Negative experience: I don't even know where to start, honestly. I was a member for nearly 6 years before finally choosing to leave Monster Gym. It is unbearably sad, embarrassing, and shocking just how much the gym has downgraded. The only thing keeping me was the price. Yes, for those who are reading and paying that ridiculous—what is it again? Like $50.00-plus a month?—I was paying about $25.00 for being a long-term member. Eventually, this gym just got worse and worse to the point where even the $25.00 wasn't worth it anymore, considering every goddamn machine breaks every second of every day. When was the last time all the cables were functioning at once? When was the last time they even cleaned the gym? I used to be so excited to walk through that door—until this last year or two, when the gym got infested with plastic women and ego-driven idiots who would wrestle shirtless behind the mirrors where the green tarp is. (Yes, that actually happened, and not just once.) All in all, this gym has completely downgraded, and it's ridiculous to see. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has felt this way. I think this all began when Monster Gym got rid of the female-only section. Don’t think we forgot that whoever runs the Instagram for Monster Gym was deleting comments from people who disagreed with that decision. How pathetic. If you're sitting around wondering if they'll ever fix anything: they won’t. If you're considering switching gyms: please, save your money and go to literally any other gym in the West Island.

Negative experience: I had a really awful experience with this gym, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values customer service or fairness. First of all, the front desk treatment is extremely inconsistent. While there are about three staff members who were genuinely kind and respectful (I wish I caught their names), the rest were rude and unhelpful—especially the guy who works at night and another one in the afternoon. They made me feel like I was being a burden just for asking basic questions. What frustrated me most was the payment system. They don’t offer monthly payments like most gyms. Instead, they force you to pay everything upfront, which feels like a way to trap people. If they offered monthly plans, I’m sure many wouldn’t continue because the service doesn’t match the high fees. And if your credit card fails—even once—they won’t let you in. No flexibility, no understanding, no customer care. You’re just left waiting while they act like it’s not their problem. Honestly, it’s a money-first, people-last kind of place. Don’t be fooled by the name or the hype.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member at Monster Gym for over a year now, and I feel compelled to share my honest experience in hopes that it leads to some much-needed improvements. The cleanliness of the facility is shockingly poor—especially in the locker rooms. The smell is unbearable, and honestly, it feels unhealthy to even breathe in there. For a gym that charges such high membership fees, it’s completely unacceptable to maintain such unsanitary conditions. On top of that, the equipment is outdated and clearly hasn’t been upgraded in years. When you’re paying a premium price every month, you expect a premium standard—not old machines and dirty facilities. I’m sure a big reason many people stay at Monster is because of the vibes. It has that “hardcore” feel and is known for attracting a lot of high-level athletes and influencers. But let’s be real—beyond the hype, the gym falls short when it comes to basic standards like hygiene and functioning equipment. It’s time to invest in the essentials and not just the reputation. I truly hope the management takes these concerns seriously and begins prioritizing hygiene, air quality, and equipment upgrades. Members deserve better, especially when they’re paying top dollar.

Negative experience: Horrible gym ,workout equipment are falling apart . They will not even offer you a monthly , they will ask for a full amount up front. This gym has to be one of the worst .

Negative experience: Edit: Had to edit the review and drop the rating, the prices are way steeper today for what I feel like are the same or less in some ways than years back. Intermediate level lifters can probably get better value elsewhere. -------------------------------------------------- Old Review: This is the gym I go to so I may be a bit biased. The gym is open 24h so it's a god place to go if your work study schedule varies often. The cardio areas are nice and there's a lot of variety of machines overall. The only issue is that it can get packed during peak hours. You'll come out of there with the feeling that the gym is good but that some improvements can be made so that's why I'm giving it a 4.

Negative experience: I really don't know why they call this place a meca for bodybuilders... old gym, old machines...just kids and adolescents training here. Needs renovation everywhere...Don't waste your money on this place. Try the free trial and you will see, you will choose another gym.

Negative experience: The way they fixed the sauna in the men's locker room is an atrocity. It looks like absolute hell in there. The Germ infested wood in the sauna has been there for maybe a year or more. It is completely black now. From dirt and germs and mold. Completely disgusting with the amount of money. This gym is getting and the amount of members they have that they couldn't sprint the extra dollars for proper materials. Just gross.

Positive experience: The gym seems extremely well equipped, usually quite busy and people really seem to work out here. Parking lot is usually fairly full and it's often difficult to find a spot, there's water accumulation (huge puddle) on the side of the building in the parking lot when it rains so be careful driving and walking. There is some extra parking on gravel off to the side of the main parking lot I tend to use but it's getting quite lumpy there and at some point it may damage cars. I know trucks use that area but even they may have trouble soon navigating over the bumps. Hope whoever is responsible fixes these issues soon.

Fantastic experience: The receptionist who answered the phone went out of there to answer my questions. Without a doubt his knowledge and communication skills helped my decision to become a member of the gym.

Positive experience: Just way too busy during peek hours to train. A lot of ppl go there to socialize so getting a workout in is tough. No 24hrs on the weekend makes no sense when that would be the most optimal time for clients that can’t workout during the week.

Positive experience: I've been going there for years. This place needs a fresh coat of paint, some new equipment, and maybe a new manager with some new fresh ideas

Negative experience: They don't have any classes. I guess this is for people who only want to do weights. Not interested, especially when the price tag isn't reflective of the services you offer. Should be half of that.

Negative experience: The gym is dirty, smells like cheap dollarama air freshener. 24h but truly no service until regular business hours. No one oicks up anything in the gym during the night, so if you work out in the AM, get ready to play hide and seek with the equipment. When there are clerks at front desk they are rude or mute. When we ask a question we expect an answer. Was thrown back my credit card when I signed the yearly contract. Should've changed my mind right then and there because cancelling costs 3 monthly payments. Better to go with other options around because they do not have competitive prices.

Fantastic experience: I recently joined Monster Gym, and it's undoubtedly the best gym in town. Ryan, one of the staff members, is exceptionally nice and incredibly helpful. His dedication to assisting members is commendable. Additionally, Adriana, the manager, not only runs the gym efficiently but also brings a beautiful charm to the place. Overall, Monster Gym exceeds expectations, thanks to its friendly staff and excellent management. 5 stars all the way!

Negative experience: Organized crime. The receptionist calls their friends when you walk in with a nice watch or handbag to ROB YOU!. They then open their lockers (for which they are the only ones with the master key) and rob you blind.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff, super clean place, the equipment all works perfectly and feels like new, the 30 minute circuit is awesome if you're just not feeling a full on workout that day and want a bit of everything just to get that once-over.

Negative experience: At Monster, you pay extra for a VIP changing room with broken down showers and lockers that get broken into and stolen.. their sauna barely ever works properly, is small and dosn't have enough seating .. World Gym DDO has newer equipment, better amenities and is cheaper!

Negative experience: Tres déçu. Nous avons visiter 2 fois le gym pour le l’info! On s’est fait expliquer les coûts 2 fois! Chaque fois il n’était question que du 15$/mois plus taxes. On s’est inscrit par internet comme demandé! Nous recevons le contrat et il y a des frais supplémentaires d’adhesion ($60), de cartes ($20) et 2 charges additionnelles annuelle ($40), plus taxes… Un service présenté 2 fois qui aurait dû coûter $206.88, nous coûte $344.74… c’est de la fraude!

Negative experience: Worse gym ever. Poor air quality (it literally stinks). Come fall you circle the parking lot forever trying to find parking and you risk getting a flat because the potholes are gigantic. The music was so loud it was deafening so this is not the place for you if you want to listen to your own music or podcast. Worse of all, the locker rooms are dirty and disgusting. My massage therapist is still there and every time I go inside the stinky air and deafening music still hit me hard.

Fantastic experience: Monster is a great gym with a great variety of machines that will definitely help you on your fitness journey. As someone who has been to multiple different gyms what makes monster gym stand above the others is their dedicated squatting area and dedicated deadlifting area.

If you're serious about lifting, be it for bodybuilding, powerlifting or weightlifting, this 24h gym is truly one of its kind in Montreal.

Fantastic experience: Best gym with this price, first they give you two weeks trial and if you register before your trial expires they give you one month free and you can freeze up to three months it’s amazing, also the place is clean and you never wait for a machine to become free, it’s so big

Positive experience: Lots of machines, some newer and some older but they are all usually functional which is what matters. I do like the selection a lot. There are a lot of squat cages, free weights and machines of all kinds. The place is cleanish, it could be better. Women's locker room is always clean. I give it 3 stars because they don't enforce any of their rules. There's always stuff left out on the floor or at the wrong place. If it was once in a while I wouldn't mind but literally everyday it's like this. I don't think I will renew because I am done having to clean up after others.

Positive experience: I wish they didn’t remove some of the squat racks. It used to be perfect when they have 5 squat racks but since they removed two of them, the squat racks are full 24/7 and you gotta wait a while until you can use them. Not ideal

Positive experience: Great gym with all the equipment you need to stay active. They are constantly renovating and adding new areas and keeping up with the clients want. Enjoy coming here and the staff is great too.

Negative experience: Nothing to justify the membership price. The place smells musty. The equipment is from 1990. And no one actually enforces any rules. Once my membership is over I'm out. I had to give one star above one for their equipment selection though. You can work out muscles you don't know you have like 5 different ways. Overkill for casual fitness enthusiasts like me though.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member in lots of gyms through out my life but i will admit that this is the greatest !! Staff are super helpful , always polite and ready to serve !! The gym is big , spacious , clean. You never have to wait to use an equipment. The atmosphere is so homey. You seriously feel like you are part of a family !! If you are looking fot the best in all areas. This is the spot. !! Plus open 365 days a year 24hrs a day ,now you cannot ask for better !!!

Fantastic experience: unfortunately the gym has decided to add a 30 fee to renew lifetime price guarantee they call this a renewal fee but for me it is a price increase went to world gym website that has this price guarantee and so do other gyms not a smart business decision when there are 10 other gyms in the same area maybe they will raise prices every year
